Not very good lots of stuff was forgotten on my chicken sandwich and for the price it definitely should have looked/tasted better...I was hoping that I would be able to have a good first time experience here trying the food but the food was just thrown together in a box looked liked cafeteria food for 12-14$ sigh oh well read more

A friend suggested we come here for a burger. What a great suggestion. Service was excellent. A very eclectic atmosphere, two different rooms, an open courtyard and the bar. My husband had the chicken sandwich, our friend had the infamous "Holy Cow Burger", and I had the mushroom Swiss burger. Nice thick juicy burgers, cooked to perfection on a great bun. Not your typical hamburger bun. They both had the fries, I had the onion rings. Both were excellent. A good selection of beers on tap and decent affordable drinks. What a great find! So disappointed. This place used to be a local favorite of ours, and nowadays, it's mediocre at best. It's only teenagers working, which doesn't necessarily mean it's bad, but it's kids that have little to no work ethic. We've ordered twice within a few months and will probably never do it again. Both times, they received our order but never fixed it. Tonight, they said they received the order but they closed and that was that. I LOVE Old 27 Grill! My husband and I stopped by when he was working in the area a few months back and I still dream about that meal. I got two bullet burgers with extra cheese and tomato with fried pineapple. YALL. That is what a burger is supposed to taste like. I also got a vanilla milkshake for the ride home and it was made from the same stuff rainbows are. Thick and creamy with a homemade taste. The decor is adorable. Comfortable. Down home. I wanted this to be an awesome experience. Unfortunately it was not. The young man who seated us (who subsequently became our waiter) asked what we wanted to drink. We just told him two waters. Only after I flagged down the other guy for some water (35 minutes later) did we get anything to drink. Appetizer came out fairly quickly and was good. No silverware or napkins (after asking a couple times, until I got up and got napkins from the bar). After about an hour our entrees came out. Our food was not hot (by the time we ordered there were only a hand full of tables), fries are not "rough-cut" (they are obviously bagged frozen French fries) and they were cold. My sandwich was not as described on the menu, So he took it to get a new one. The second sandwich came out still incorrect (grilled chicken instead of fried which would have made the sandwich perfect). The kid who was waiting on us, however, said that he had mentioned to the kitchen on the second one. He also got us some hot French fries. Maybe the cook doesn't know the menu? The boy did speak with the manager and had the sandwich removed from the ticket. That was really sweet. The food was good for what it was. I wish the fries had really been rough cut fries. These poor kids running this dining area either need training or help or both. We watched at least two couples leave. That made me sad! We were told, when we were leaving, that the young man who waited on us was brand new. That whomever was supposed to be training he and the other boy didn't show up. This is the sad reality of the day BUT I wish he'd have told us. Or Someone would have. There were experienced wait staff at the bar who could have maybe helped or been a buffer. That makes me even more sad. The atmosphere here is great. The place is cute as it can be. Just maybe need to work out a few kinks. Only gave 1 star because our waitress was very sweet but kitchen cannot get it together. Burger was cold, burnt bacon, cheese was disintegrated. Server sent two meals back but kitchen never cooked a new order after she went twice to get it. Group of 5, two people got their orders which one was overcooked and the other was undercooked with burnt bacon and the rest of us sat for an hour and watched them eat dinner while we continued to wait for food that never came out. Manager on duty was a teenager who was busy waiting tables. Will never eat here again. A place that prides itself on burgers and bacon that cannot seem to cook either one correctly. Wait staff very apologetic. I was sitting in view of kitchen where staff was arguing and wait staff being pummeled by angry customers as food was inconsistent. Never eating here again. The food here is really good and made fresh... we enjoy the menu options The only reason for the low score is the environment. This restaurant is mostly outdoor seating. Not much is done to prevent flys and mosquitoes. Since it tends to be raining or very humid in fairhope outdoor seating is uncomfortable, so we dont eat here much. The indoor seating seems dark, small and unsanitary. We would eat here very often if there was more indoor comfortable seating. read more

This was our first time dining here after passing many times traveling to Fairhope. We had great service and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The pimento cheese appetizer was tasty. I was a little disappointed in our entrees. Neither of our burgers came with the caramelized onions as described on the menu. My husband ordered the fries and they were not the delicious looking hand cut fries in the photos we had seen and as described on the menu, but rather frozen, crinkle cut fries. I asked for the green beans as a side, assuming they would be regular green beans cooked with some of the delicious bacon. What I got was breaded, fried green beans. They weren't bad, just not what I was expecting based on how the menu is written. We tried to order boiled peanuts and were told they were out, so maybe the issues with our entrees were due to other items being out as well. read more

Love being in Fairhope with my in-laws. While we are here, we are always looking for a new place to dine. It was a rainy day so it wasn't very busy but had a wonderful outdoor area for seating! I didn't see anyone at first when I walked up, so I was a little confused about where the host stands. However, our service was great! I ordered a burger and sweet potato fries. My little one ordered a kids hot dog which was a foot long hot dog! It was a good portion. The fries were the best according to my teen. The bacon was the highlight of our meal! I wasn't going to write a review after our horrible experience last night because we were comped our whole meal after complaining to our server. I think it was a manager that came over and apologized for how bad our burgers and homemade chips and fries were. We told her that we have never had such a terrible meal there and that we were very disappointed. That's when she said she was not going to charge us for anything and said she hoped we would come back again. Our server was wearing a mask but no one else in the place was. They did not have tables separated or require customers to wear a mask. The music was so loud we couldn't even carry on a conversation. We asked for a fork and after 10 minutes or more I finally got up and got my own. While I certainly appreciate our meal being free, there was just so much wrong with the whole experience, I doubt we will go back again. Better to close down until you find good staff or stop your catering biz and pay attention to your restaurant. . At least that way you aren't damaging your business and reputation. read more

We have driven by Bill E's a few times, we have to try there. I hs a the Holy Cow, with the bacon. It was a great seasoned burger with fries. Had 2 Orange Blood beers recomme by the bar tender. They have a fun outdoor area for seating along with various games including a game where a metal ring attached to a string and you have to swing it to catch on a hook. Killer cheeseburgers w this creamy pepper sauce that makes it pretty special. He makes a specialized bacon that goes great on your bacon cheeseburger. I had the sautéed mushrooms, onions and Swiss cheeseburger. I couple more mushrooms would have made it better I think I might have had 2 small slices of a mushroom on the whole thing. We had burgers and they were very good. Great battered onion rings. Very good selection of beer. They also have live music in certain nights. There is inside seating as well as seating in the bar. My wife a vegetarian likes this place because they have a veggie burger. The last time we were there they were out of veggie burgers. Bummer! Thank you to our cooks and waitress for a lunch that serves the best comfort food at a super price! I had their chili burger sliders with fried green beans that were excellent! My friend had a 10inch all beef hotdog with an ample amount of onions, red peppers, etc. He also had hand cut french fries that I tried and they reminded me of the famous fries from the amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio at Cedar Point! I sure wish I had ordered them! I will be back for them. Their hamburgers and hotdogs are the best! For dessert I had a huge brownie with vanilla ice cream with Carmel and chocolate sauce that was so heavenly! Pull up a picnic bench and enjoy excellent American food, and feel welcomed by their entire staff that are friendly, attentive, and quick on their feet to make it a great dining experience! read more

We never post any reviews.. but this one is a must. We placed a delivery order and out of 3 orders 2 were wrong and all 3 were the absolute worst meal all 3 of us have ever TRIED to eat. We have ordered from here many times before and have never received food like this. Ordered medium cooked burgers.. Received 2 BURNT dried out patties. Buns were stale. The comeback chicken was so dry we couldn't tear it with our hands must less bite into it. What a huge disappointment today. My husband and I went in for lunch today to the inside room. They saw us come in as they looked at us and one of the gals said someone just came to inside dining. It took them about 10 or more minutes to wait on us. The waitress said thank u for your patience we are busy outside. Ok we ordered and when it cAme my husbands was wrong. He told the waitress he wanted fries and gravy with his sandwich , he got chips. He told her to take them back. Well she gave us a disgusted look took them back and when he had one more bite of sandwich the fries came without the gravy. So he asked for gravy another disgusted sigh and off she went. I heard the cook or some man say well tell them it will take a long time now for gravy. Then the original waitress shows up says this is my third day thank you for your patience and brought a tiny little cup of gravy. I had totally run out of patience as once another waitress delivered the wrong order we never saw the original waitress till then. Then we are done eating another 15 mins till we get the check. Again she never comes back for the money for about 20 minutes. Then says thank you for your patience. I was done by then having any patience left. I just wanted out of there. The service was totally unacceptable and we will never return as the staff can't seem to control their comments which we clearly heard in the dining area. If they don't want to wait on ppl and serve the correct order without comment they don't need to be in that business. There are many other places that are much better and the service is really good. They want you to be there. Every customer should be important. I learned this after 25 yrs in customer service. From the outside you may not try it. I personally love places like this. I had an appt in fairhope and looking at yelp reviews for this place i thought we should try it. My husband and i both had the mushroom swiss burger. I had sweet potato fries which were delicious . The burgers were perfectly cooked , with really fresh ingredients on top. I could taste the beef not just the toppings which is usually the case. It is a tiny place inside but there are tables outside. Ours had a heater on the table. We did use it but it was only slightly chilly. We will be back to try something else if i can get past that tasty burger. The service is quick and very helpful with menu items.. Went last week again and their shrimp Sandwich. I got comeback salad and it was as good as the comeback sauce in Mississippi. We both took portions home. Great service, attentive, but not intrusive. It was our first time here and we will def be back. Our visit was pleasant and relaxing. They're Sunday Brunch is esp nice with their delicious mimosas. We tried the pimento cheese and house made chips appetizer. It was very good. The chips are extra crispy and just the right size for dipping without making a mess. SO got the Bill-E's Blended burger. The patty was juicy and tender with a perfectly cooked egg on top. I tried the Bill-E's Bacon Cheeseburger. It was cooked to order with a generous topping of cheese and the house-made bacon. What made our visit here extra special was our waitress, Jessica. She was the perfect blend of personable and professional. She took great care of us while we were there. We're sold! The place we planned to eat was closed, so we decided to give Old 27 Grill a try. We had heard good things about it, but it far exceeded our expectations. We started with fried green tomatoes. They were smaller slices but they gave us a basket full. My husband debated between the beer brat and the Conecuh dog. He settled on the brat with mustard, relish and sauerkraut, with onion rings on the side. He said it was great. I quickly decided on a burger, as I've been on a stupid diet and craving a real burger for days. I added blue cheese, bacon and threw a couple of those fried green tomatoes on it. They weren't stingy with the blue cheese and they make their own bacon. The bacon slices are wide and smoked to perfection. I had hand cut fries on the side. Even though the food was sick good (by sick good I mean I'll eat it until I'm sick because it's too good to stop eating), we still managed to find room for dessert. We decided on the sweet potato pies. Those are small fried pies with whipped cream for dipping and they are delicious! Those pies are definitely a can't miss item there. We had all of that food for only $36. The service was great too! In fact, the owner even came around to all the tables to introduce himself and see if we were enjoying everything. Brownie points for that. By the way, brownies are another dessert option. The atmosphere can't be beat. There was indoor dining, outdoor dining on picnic tables under the big ole trees, and a cool looking little bar area. They have live music sometimes too. The parking lot seemed full when we pulled in but there was plenty of seating. Don't let a full parking lot scare you off. I'm not sure why we waited so long to try this place, but we will definitely not wait that long to go back. It was a dining experience we were actually excited about. The burgers were another 15 (total of 45 minutes) Ordered medium and they were both hard and gray completely through. The fries tasted fine but were served at room temperature.
