First time visiting this location. After being sat by the hostess at an inside table (with 2 more tables that had already ordered) for 15 minutes or more having multiple employees passing and not one acknowledged we were there, I called the restaurant from our table to place a to-go order and was told it was extremely busy and would be a long wait for the order. I explained we had already been sitting at a table inside for about 15 minutes and no one had spoken to us yet so figured it would be easier to place the order to go. She remembered seating us and said she would be right there to get our order but no one ever showed up so we finally just left. Hoping this is not how service is every time. read more

The service was terrible. The food took almost an hour to get and the place wasn't even close to being packed. We asked to have our appetizers brought out before our entrees, which should be obvious and they still brought out the appetizers with the entrees. Once we got our food it wasn't even hot. read more

The chilli only gets 1 star. It was that bad. My 27 burger was great. The sweet potato fried pies are amazing! The saving grace of the whole meal. I'll go back for the fried pies alone. We sat outside and it was so much fun. Being that it's picnic tables it feels like a fun family reunion. All the patio s are friendly. The band playing was pretty good and allowed for a fun atmosphere. Now I only gave the service 3 stars but the waitress was as sweet as she could be. And she came around in a timely manner but there were just a few oops with our order that keeps me from giving her a higher score. I'm sure it was just an off day or possibly she was new. Wife and I went to Old27 for our 10 year anniversary (moved here the day before). We had the crab stuffed jalapeño poppers, smoked tuna dip and the shrimp tacos. Poppers took a little longer than the smoked tuna, but that wasn't an issue. Wife and I really enjoyed the shrimp tacos. Shrimp is grilled and the fish is fried so we chose shrimp. Also, happy half off Miller Lites ($2) is pretty legit. Service was above average as well. We will be returning! read more

Saw this place driving into Fairhope and thought I'll try it before I left and thank goodness I did! Awesome place for downright killer grub. The Holy Cow burger is awesome and the peppercorn sauce is tasty! You can really taste the meat and although I tend to like soggy fries, these were definitely on the top of my fry list and the drowning in peppercorn sauce made everything even better! The staff is as friendly as they can get and don't worry, portions are big as you can tell! Parking can get a little tight when they are busy. read more

Horrible! They give you a menu that has items they no longer have. Service was horrible. Burger was missing the sauce it was supposed to have. When we inquired we were told "yea, they forget it sometimes and I don't like to dig in the food to see if it's in there". Drove in to town today after an 8 hour drive from Augusta, Ga. and this was my first stop because it's always been very very good. Great dive find. Good burgers, live music, patio recently expanded for much more seating. Service was appropriately attentive and food came quickly. Had the holy cow burger. Realized afterwards it was a ripoff. Same size as the other burgers, but cost $4-$5 extra. The difference? It comes on a plate and it has some sauce. We did ask them to light their fire pit as soon as we arrived so we could enjoy the fire, they kept saying they'd get right to it, finally got to it as we were finishing our dinner and about to leave. This is a very unique find!!! Driving there, I didn't know if I was coming to someone's home fir dinner since it's sort of in a neighborhood in the highway. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The child was really good! Fries are freshly cut and the coleslaw was not good typical recipe; it had kale! The burgers are really good. Ordered a burger and a chicken sandwich. The burger was great. The fries were terrible. Super, super soggy and literally sat in a puddle of grease on the plate. Seemed like they were fried more than once or maybe in old grease? Chicken sandwich wasn't good and didn't come out as I had ordered. The chicken was completely tasteless, topped with undercooked bacon and cheese. I got the green beans as a side (for an up-charge) which were served cold. Fun evening. Anyone who goes there and doesn't get caught up in the wacky charm of the place, must be a stick-in-the-mud. We had boiled peanuts, pimento cheese with bacon for appetizers. I arrived at 3 PM on a Sunday afternoon. I sat down beside my friend at the bar, who had already ordered. The bartender told me it would be just a minute. 20 minutes later, my friend asked the manager to get me a drink and a menu. He made the drink while I looked at the menu. 15 minutes after I was ready to order, the bartender grabbed the menu in front of me and put it up. She never asked me what I wanted to eat. This place has gone WAY downhill. We went on a Sunday afternoon. They weren't very busy...but we waited over 15 mins for anyone to acknowledge us. Finally we got someone to take drink orders...another 10 mins later we got our water/tea. Then he said "I'll be back in 2 mins to take your order..." Nearly 10 mins later he came and took the order. Didn't write anything down and even though I corrected him twice on the order, he brought one of us (me) the wrong thing. Left the wrong item there anyway saying we wouldn't have to pay for it. The item was not eaten, as it wasn't what I wanted anyway. When I FINALLY got what I ordered, everyone else was finished eating.The bill comes, and BOTH the wrong item and my VERY late item were on the bill. Worst service I have ever had at a restaurant. Started with the server taking our drink order, my husband ordered a Bloody Mary, I ordered a Pepsi. Waited forever and the bartender is the one who brought the Bloody Mary, no Pepsi. Server came back to take our food order in which we ordered an appetizer and our food. I asked for my Pepsi also. She finally brought my drink but no appetizer. Finally our food arrived, before the appetizer. I'm not sure who brought our food but we asked her to bring our appetizer (boiled peanuts). She brought them however they were spicy, we ordered regular. All in all, every little thing took forever, there were tables who arrived after us but received food before us. This was one the worst experiences at a burger place I've ever had. A couple of friends ordered Waitr from here Friday night. We ordered 3 burgers, all ordered medium well. The burgers arrive and there is like one limp old piece of lettuce on the burgers and half a pickle. That's it, no sauce, tomato, onions or anything. The burgers were all raw. My wife and I decided to take a little road trip for this dive that we have heard good things about. It was a rainy night, so the crowd was sparse. Most of the seating is outdoors or on a patio thus not covered from the elements. We sat at the bar and what wonderful service we had from the bartender. The conversation was good and she was very helpful with the menu. We had the tuna dip with the house made chips as a starter and it was really good. The chips were a great touch. We both are burger lovers so we went with the black and blue burger and it was awesome. I had the onion rings and she had the fries. The onion rings were a 8 and the fries were a 10. GREAT ATMOSPHERE!! Such a cool place to grab a delicious meal, with an awesome beer selection! We vacationed in Fairhope, and it rained two of the days we were there, but once we found Old 27 Grill nothing was able to ruin our time! $40.00 for a shrimp sandwich and a hot dog.. We ordered our food. The server came back about 5 mins later and told us they were out of rid eye.. We ordered the side salad for $2.00 with our steak. Since they were out of steak they should have taken the salad off but they sent it to our table and charged us $8.00 for them. Since they were out of rib eye the ticket was trashed along with the rest of the order, except the salad. We then ordered the shrimp sandwich and a hot dog. To the tune of $40.00. Love the new menu! I was fortunate to meet the wonderful owner who was so gracious and sat with us for a moment to tell us all about his restaurant and the unique process they use in creating their soon-to-be world famous Bill-E's Bacon. We tried the new sampler appetizer and it was fantastic. The burgers are the not-so hidden gem here in my opinion. My family loved the unique setting and vibe and the live music added to the overall ambience. Definitely worth checking out. Our server was attentive and all our meals were correct the first time - help can be challenging as we all know but no problems this visit. I look forward to returning the next time I'm in the area.
