I was hopeful for a better meal at Bill-E's. The service was friendly. Some of the food was good, and some was just okay. The prices were too high to match the product. My mother in law had a small house salad- she said it was okay. My husband and I shared the Blended burger and the Dixie chick sandwiches. The blended burger was a disappointment. It did have any flavor and was really over cooked. The pickles were good. The chicken from the Dixie chick was delicious. The pimiento cheese was also good. For both sandwiches, the Buns were cold and pasty- I had to just eat the filling and not the bun. Over all, I would not suggest coming back, but if I made it back, I would get the chicken tenders! read more

What some call rustic is actually just old and dingy. Food was blah. Service was poor. From the outside it looks like it has the potential to be a cool place (but not cool when the dining areas need to be cleaned up and improved). They're missing a good opportunity but they don't seem to be aware or concerned about the presentation of the place from a customer's viewpoint. I'm relatively new to the area and had heard that this place had good food. Unfortunately, I never had a chance to find out. My lady friend and I went for a late lunch/early dinner. We had just come from the Sausage Festival in Elberta where, get this, they ran out of buns, kraut and sausages at 2:30 pm. So, we were hungry. We sat outside and were one of two tables that had customers; a third couple came after us. We got our drink order and our server, who apparently was the afternoon manager, said he would be right back to take our order. 13 minutes later, after finishing our drinks, watching the other two tables get their food (even the couple who came after us), we decided to call it a day and head to Danny's. As we were getting up, he came to the table, apologized, and said something about having to fix a problem with something. I understood that part; what I didn't understand is why there were 4 servers wandering around and no one took our order. As I went to pay the tab in cash (god forbid), he couldn't open the cash register and had to go in the back. While I waited there, three different young ladies asked me if they could help me pay! Evidently they want to get your money, but not deliver your food. Management 101...Delegate! I hear the bacon is good. Guess I'll never know. read more

This burger place has potential to be THE burger place in all of Baldwin County, with a few minor adjustments. First of all, attention to detail, I asked my waitress about their BILL-E's bacon cheeseburger, and she gave me a sellable description, but my burger arrived without the bacon. I was in a hurry, and though I still enjoyed my cheeseburger, I told her that I didn't get my bacon, hoping for a discounted price due to their mistake, I still got charged for the full amount. Secondly, I think the difference between their burgers and a 5 star rating is a bun that maintains constitution while you eat your burger. Bill-E's buns start to fall apart immediately on contact making it difficult to keep the burger a burger. It quickly turns into a salad with bread and hamburger patty, and in my case, minus the bacon. BTW, saying sorry repeatedly without providing any solution doesn't help. I gave her a tip, although my missing bacon should have counted as tip. read more

Don't waste your time! This place was such a disappointment. Took 2 hours from start to finish and we were even ready to order right away. Their excuse for the long wait was "we got a lot of tickets all at once." But there were only 5 other tables besides ours. The food was underwhelming as well. Mac and cheese is Kraft from the box. Salad had mounds of Swiss cheese on it, which wasn't even supposed to be on there. And the fish sandwich was super salty. To add insult to injury the manager didn't even once apologize. First time visiting this establishment. I had the family with me and we were in the mood for some burgers and bacon. Bill-E's knocked it out of the park. We had the blended burger, bacon burger, mushroom Swiss burger, holy cow burger and the Bullet Burger. Wow is all I can say. The waitstaff was awesome, the owner came to our table and we chatted about bacon. I ended up leaving with 5lb's of Bill-E's small batch Bacon. I can't wait to try those out. The eclectic decor and old school feel is just perfect. I loved this place and so did the family. I highly recommend Bill-E's to anyone looking for outstanding food and a great vibe. Worst service. This is the second time in a row. It's like you're invisible. I had to ask twice for service. The young waiters just kind of all stare at each other like they don't know what to do. This was my second time at BillieE's. The first time service was very slow, but we were patient due to understaffing etc. Well, we were seated tonight and after 12 minutes of no server coming to take a drink order or even stop by the table I went to the hostess stand to kindly let them know. Well after a total of 20+ minutes of no one coming to the table while tables that were sat after us kept getting helped we left. I will not be back. We have recently moved to Fairhope and trying a lot of different restaurants for my wife and I on date night and for our family. Bill-E's made the list for our family dinner. What we liked about it was the atmosphere. It's a relaxed, mostly outdoor seating restaurant. They have bands Thursday - Saturday. My wife loved the gumbo and my kids loved the chicken fingers. What we didn't like was the wait for our food was almost 30 minutes and the hamburgers were really overdone and dry. They are supposedly known for their bacon. I would say it is good, but not distinguished from other bacon. The bottom line is we will definitely try it again and see if this was an anomaly because we really loved the atmosphere for our family. read more

Came in on a good day. Not full, must have just missed the church goers. Sat down, was taking care of right away. Lemonade was delish!! Boiled peanuts..on point. I ordered the Bacon cheeseburger...awesome. Took a bite and right away got the flavors of the meat, cheese, amazing bacon and the surprise of the dill pickle at the end, wow! Fries were crispy and hot, dipped in the delicious ranch dressing..yum! Only thing I can say is that, maybe add a few more bathrooms. And some outdoor fans. The outdoor seating is very cool and decorated with old windows and picnic tables. Some that are cut around the trees that were left to grace us with their beauty. Thanks for not chopping them down The Service was great, clean all around, great live music. Bar area has a tv. Really glad I drove out from Perdido Key, it was well worth the drive. Always trying to support local businesses but Yikes! It all looked so good online. Two sandwiches (no drink) for almost $34. Both sandwiches orders were wrong. The burger was leather tough and nit very flavorful. Bottom bun soaked in what tasted like salad dressing from the diced iceberg lettuce. The grilled chicken sandwich had gristle. I asked for the "comeback sauce" to be put one the side. It was all on the sandwich as well and I wasn't a fan. The quality of ingredients was surprisingly low. They didn't give me the detailed receipt so I'm not sure if my bill was correct. I hate when I ask for things to be left off like onions, bacon, cheese etc and then find that it's put on in such a way that everything is melted together and you have to strip it down to meat and soggy bread. read more

We went to Bill-E's on a Wednesday night for dinner and trivia. Trivia was fun, but the service and food left a lot to be desired. It took a long time before a waitress appeared to take our drink order, and she served two groups who had arrived after us, even bringing their drink orders before moving to us. The whole evening was characterized by slow service and numerous errors. The kichen prepared my husband's order that included ice cream at least 15 minutes before my order was ready. He was finished with his food before mine even arrived. I ordered the BLT with fries. The picture on the website of what appears to be a BLT is of a nicely assembled triple decker that looks quite appetizing and worth $13. The sandwich I actually got was haphazardly slung together and not a triple decker, and came with chips. The BLT was composed of two pieces of terrible cheap and dry white bread (supposedly Texas toast), one single slice of tomato(!), lettuce that appeared to be grabbed from the salad bowl, overcooked bacon unevenly dropped in the sandwich, and sauce that was gooped in the center of the bread, not spread on the bread properly. The waitress's response to my feedback about the poor quality of the sandwich was that the kitchen was busy. That does not fly as a reason - it wasn't that busy - there were plenty of empty tables, and does not explain the poor quality of ingredients and lack of attention to dish composition. The bacon is not good enough to coast by solely on its reputation, plus it was overcooked. A BLT is a simple dish, one where the quality of the ingredients is key. Frankly, the BLT at Waffle House is better than this one was and is only $5 or so. We've tried Bill-E's on three different occasions, and the food isn't good enough to overcome the disheveled atmosphere, uncomfortable seating and lackluster service. It's not bad, it's not good, it's just okay. Not worth the drive. We'll find somewhere else to play trivia. read more

Took my family that was visiting out of town here to eat. They had slow service that night but everything they could to make sure we all had a good experience and we laughed and enjoyed ourselves. It was wonderful the owner came and talked to our table and the waitress was so very nice and friendly. It was a great night. SERVICE is really TERRIBLE. 1. they forgot to put the 5 sauces we requested in our order. 2. charged me for 3 drinks but forgot to include them. Of course, we found out of missing items when we already arrived at the hotel, 15 min away, and driving back in the rain wasn´t an option. 3. only 1 of 8 workers I saw wore a mask, no requirement for customers to wear them, and there wasn't a manager around to point it out. This is the worst for customer satisfaction. Food is mainly fried and just so-so in taste, probably the sauce they forgot to give us could mask the food. Bill-Es is a quaint little spot to have a casual meal and:or drinks. I am traveling the country right now searching for unique and tasty sandwiches. The pork belly sandwich was to die for! The salty pork belly was amazing, the perfect fat to meat ratio and cooked perfectly sits in a house made bed of coleslaw to add a little sweetness. So good. We had the two pieces of bacon as an appetizer (which lead to a purchase of a pound of bacon to take with me) a cup of gumbo that was really good and my husband had a chili dog. The hotdog was fried and different than "normal" hotdogs but very good. That and the drinks made it a perfect meal. I regret not trying the fried pies, or the chocolate pork belly bites. I went by tonight while visiting home from Boston. I ordered a bunch of apps for my family to enjoy. They were extra understaffed tonight and the crew that remained was so helpful. My friends and I enjoyed a round of corn hole while waiting for our food. It was hot and DELICIOUS. Well worth the wait. So disappointed. This place used to be a local favorite of ours, and nowadays, it's mediocre at best. It's only teenagers working, which doesn't necessarily mean it's bad, but it's kids that have little to no work ethic. We've ordered twice within a few months and will probably never do it again. Both times, they received our order but never fixed it. Tonight, they said they received the order but they closed and that was that. I wanted this to be an awesome experience. Unfortunately it was not. The young man who seated us (who subsequently became our waiter) asked what we wanted to drink. We just told him two waters. Only after I flagged down the other guy for some water (35 minutes later) did we get anything to drink. Appetizer came out fairly quickly and was good. No silverware or napkins (after asking a couple times, until I got up and got napkins from the bar). After about an hour our entrees came out. Our food was not hot (by the time we ordered there were only a hand full of tables), fries are not "rough-cut" (they are obviously bagged frozen French fries) and they were cold. My sandwich was not as described on the menu, So he took it to get a new one. The second sandwich came out still incorrect (grilled chicken instead of fried which would have made the sandwich perfect). The kid who was waiting on us, however, said that he had mentioned to the kitchen on the second one. He also got us some hot French fries. Maybe the cook doesn't know the menu? The boy did speak with the manager and had the sandwich removed from the ticket. That was really sweet. The food was good for what it was. I wish the fries had really been rough cut fries. These poor kids running this dining area either need training or help or both. We watched at least two couples leave. That made me sad! We were told, when we were leaving, that the young man who waited on us was brand new. That whomever was supposed to be training he and the other boy didn't show up. This is the sad reality of the day BUT I wish he'd have told us. Or Someone would have. There were experienced wait staff at the bar who could have maybe helped or been a buffer. That makes me even more sad. The atmosphere here is great. The place is cute as it can be. Just maybe need to work out a few kinks. A friend suggested we come here for a burger. What a great suggestion. Service was excellent. A very eclectic atmosphere, two different rooms, an open courtyard and the bar. My husband had the chicken sandwich, our friend had the infamous "Holy Cow Burger", and I had the mushroom Swiss burger. Nice thick juicy burgers, cooked to perfection on a great bun. Not your typical hamburger bun. They both had the fries, I had the onion rings. Both were excellent. A good selection of beers on tap and decent affordable drinks. What a great find!
