My husband was driving our 2022 Maverick from Iowa to West Virginia when it threw a check engine light and lost power. We were towing a trailer (under the tow cap) for about six hours when this happened. Bill Estes read the code but didn't log any of the data and then couldn't reproduce the code. The code has been associated with the Maverick's long block recall, but because Bill Estes didn't log any of the data, we can't start our warranty claim and get reimbursed for the tow, rental or gas we had to pay for to get home. Our home dealership has been going to bat for us, but Bill Estes' carelessness (or complete disregard) has turned what should have been a fairly straight forward process into a nightmare. Not to mention the service advisor was incredibly rude throughout the whole process and we were told "Ford doesn't give out free engines" when we asked about starting a warranty claim. Would not recommend their services, if you blow up near Brownsburg just pay to tow it to the next town and save yourself the trouble. read more

They do not pick up the phone in the service department. #2 they don't remember conversations with their customers, and lie about status of the vehicles repair #3 They take WAY to long ! Tried to schedule my 2021 Ford Edge for service due to a small transmission issue which according to a Technical Service Bulletin said it just needed a software update. Told me it would be 3 weeks before they could get to it. Alright, fine, no problem. Can i just bring it to you in 3 weeks? Nope, they wanted to keep the car for the 3 weeks. Purchased a $50k+ 2025 Explorer - has 4000k miles, and "check engine light and others come on. Upon taking the vehicle to Bill Estes (where the vehicle was purchased), Service / Amber informs the cause is "road wear" and they need to keep the vehicle overnight - NO loaners available, so you'll have to find your own way home. Requested to talk to a manager, and immediately told " he's not available". Wife called me to pick her up at the dealership - and I asked her to find the GM so that we could have a conference call. Another Service Tech stopped my wife on her way to find the GM - he then spoke to the Amber, and Amber then informed they would let me wife bring her Explored back so that she could drive it home, but she'd have to bring it back the next day. They would call Ford to get authorization for a rental. Noon next day we had not heard from Amber / Bill Estes - requested a call back - call back indicated a rental was available, but we would have to drive to Plainfield to pick it up. I left work 2 hrs early, to pick my wife up - then drove 25 miles to Plainfield to get the rental. Had asked to speak to a manager while we were at the dealership - again told "he's not available. The sales associate that I did speak too, asked if he could help - and I downloaded the incident from the previous day - the "road wear" comment was shared, and I told him - we didn't pay $50k for a vehicle to park it on the driveway. Bought a suv June 14, 2025. Went to the Indiana BMV on July 25, 2025 to be told the dealership hasn't provided certificate of title. I was given a 45 day temporary plate. So I'm left with not being able to drive my purchased car until they decide to do their jobs. Sounds very illegal. This is my second suv purchased from this dealership the first one had a carfax report stated repairs were made. But in fact the repairs weren't done until after purchase. Their seems to be fraudulent and illegal practices with this dealership. Unless this dealership can accomplish processing BMV paperwork within 45 days and do the repairs as they report them and when they report them, take your business elsewhere. read more

Racially Profiled at Bill Estes Ford in Brownsburg -- A Painful, Eye-Opening Experience As a 6'3" Black man, I've grown used to subtle biases in certain spaces--but what I experienced at Bill Estes Ford in Brownsburg wasn't subtle. It was blatant racial profiling and one of the most disrespectful encounters I've ever had at a car dealership. I originally stopped in just to ask about service for my truck. While there, I inquired at the front desk about possibly upgrading my 2006 Ford F-250 6.0 diesel to a newer model. That's when they called over a sales representative--and from the moment he saw me, his demeanor changed. He looked at me with reluctance, like I didn't belong. I introduced myself. "Samuel," I said clearly--more than once. He refused to say it correctly. My name isn't complicated, but he used it as a tool to belittle me. When I asked about upgrading to a new F-250 diesel, he immediately brushed me off, assuming I couldn't afford it. He said they don't really carry used ones (without checking) and downplayed any interest in showing me new ones. I pressed further, and he casually said, almost mocking, that the new ones go for $80,000 to $90,000 and then added, "Is that something you can really afford?" He didn't offer a tour, didn't offer a test drive--he simply pointed vaguely to the back of the lot and told me to look for myself. This man knew nothing about me--not my credit score, not my financial situation, not my background. What he saw was the color of my skin, and based on that alone, he decided I wasn't worth his time or respect. He didn't know that I own multiple businesses. He didn't know that I could have bought a vehicle on the spot. What he did know--or assumed--was that I was Black, and to him, that meant I didn't belong there. No one deserves to be treated the way I was treated. If you're a person of color, I strongly urge you to think twice before visiting this dealership. A business that treats potential customers with such disregard and discrimination doesn't deserve your money--or your trust. read more

Service Department has gone downhill to doing nothing. Almost two months ago, I make an appointment to get recall work done on my vehicle. I was assured numerous times that the recall parts were in stock and that it would ONLY take a MAXIMUM of TWO (2) hours for the work to be done after the vehicle arrived at the dealership. I arrived on time (actually about fifteen minutes early) - I was then told that it would take ALL DAY to do the recall work. I told the service writer that it was unacceptable and that I would need a loaner vehicle. He said that they did not have any at the moment, but would put me on the list and call me in about one to two weeks to reschedule. It has almost been two months - I have called several times, left several messages and still NO REPLIES. read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE DEPARTMENT!! Until yesterday we had great service with Bill Estes. We have had our 2021 F-150 serviced at this dealership since we have owned it, they have taken care of the recalls as well. Yesterday, my husband's truck has an emergency message come across his dashboard telling him to service it immediately. He quickly stopped into Bill Estes and asked a technician about the issue. He understood they may not be able to take care of it right away but at least expect a courteous response. Instead, he was rudely rushed out of the service department and turned away. He simply asked the technician if he had ever seen this message before? The technician responded, "I don't know dude, I see like 100 vehicles a day how should I know. You can make an appointment if you want." I was so appalled by the response I called and spoke to the receptionist in service, Christy, who was very sweet. She tried to reach the service and general managers, both "unavailable." Even Christy was aware what the error message probably meant. The technician was another example of the poor customer service we see everywhere. However, I guarantee if we made an appointment, at the end of the service we would receive a survey prompting us to provide positive feedback about our service at Bill Estes giving them a 5 star review. This service department isn't the greatest to begin with. Their customer service isn't at the top of the charts and each service seems to take longer than the next. I can personally compare them to Hare Honda who treats their with the utmost respect. They are extremely courteous and value their customers time. I also requested a call from both the service manager as well as the general manager today to discuss my concerns. I have yet to hear from either one. Am I surprised? No. This dealership clearly does not value anyone unless you are there to actually purchase a vehicle which we will absolutely NEVER do again. Do yourself a favor, drive the extra 5-7 miles and visit another Ford service department, I can guarantee your experience will be better, it definitely can't be any worse. read more

I've taken my fusion here for service twice and had great service both times. They were able to get my car in within 24 hours where other dealerships told me it would be a week or more. Both visits were for minor repairs but required new parts. I had my car back within 48 hours of dropping it off both times. Turn around times are amazing! They also called me back 100% of the time, something that has been lost by most in customer service. 100% will go back if my car needs a repair. read more

I had a terrible experience. I came in ready to purchase a new vehicle, I just wanted to make sure that my trade could be paid off. Online, the car was marked as $31,000. This was the first thing I asked before I even test drived it. When we got into the numbers they increased the car mrsp by $4,000 and undervalued my trade. They also tried to get me to use an interest rate of 11% claiming that the bank that I wanted to use used that number. My credit is in great shape & I have good income so I knew it was not true. They called back the next day offering lower numbers & I told them just forget it bc I do not do dishonesty. Terrible. read more

After buying about 30 vehicles over the course of my life, I can easily say this is the WORST experience I've had. TLDR: This dealer is a joke, and don't give a damn about their customers. Where it all started. Looking at a 45k sports car on 12 year old tires which are totally unsafe they absolutely refused to put tires on it. Then being the type of car, I asked for a compression test to verify engine health and they said $3-500 for what would be an hour job for anyone competent. I told them it was way too much and the salesman's response was "It's a couple hundred dollars either way. If that makes or breaks the deal, I recommend a Ford Focus." I'm sorry..... I don't get to where I can buy a dream car of mine by letting shady dealers rob me blind. I should have walked away then and there, but after looking for months, that was the car I wanted. So we move on after I got the sales manager to comp the test over the jerk salesman. Then in the finance process, we found someone to make the loan and they wanted 40% down becasue we have a fairly new business. I eventually said okay lets do it. Now the bank doesn't want to play ball (so they say, though in my time selling in dealerships I've NEVER had a bank rescind an offer like that.) I asked them if it was the fault of the bank or the dealer so I knew who to leave a review for....suddenly they found another bank. So deal finally goes through, I'm in a different state so I get the car shipped and there's about a 3 inch chip/paint scrape in the front bumper that was undisclosed even after I specifically asked for pictures of any imperfections (which I found others that wouldn't have come from transport) but I let it go because I knew they wouldn't stand behind anything. First couple times I drove it I backed it out of the garage and it would make a popping noise. So I had it looked at when I got new tires put on it, keep in mind I had put less than 100 miles on it in 3 weeks because of weather and the tires and was told before I bought it that it had been "meticulously gone through and inspected". The shop said it was a bad upper strut mount bearing. I reached out to the Dealer, pretty much knowing they wouldn't stand behind it. Their response was "it was as is" ... on a 45k car that I'd owned for less than 30 days and driven maybe 75 miles. This isn't even that expensive of a repair. I was mostly just curious if they were as trash as I thought. Do not do business with these people. They have no problem treating you like garbage and not taking care of their customers. If i could I would give them negative stars. Pretty much the only good part of the transaction was me ending up with the car. read more

Horrible Stay away from this dealership !!!!!!!! They had my truck for a week and half. I took it in for a check engine light, camera on passengers side mirror not working, Trailer plug trailer brakes not working. Talked to Nick in service dept. Told him keep the truck as long as needed to repair, as I live a hour away and had to make arrangements for someone to drop off and pick up. He calls its ready all issues fixed. Drove truck 57 miles home ... Check engine light back on, 360 camera does not work, willing to bet trailer plug doesn't either. I got the shaft when I bought the truck here last year I should have know better than to try and have it repaired here. WON"T HAPPEN AGAIN. Worst dealership I've ever bought from. Everyone in here from the salesman, manager Steve, mechanic rep, and finance guy. Bought a car only to have engine problems the next week. Notified them instantly with videos and brought it right in for them to try to charge me to fix the car I just bought from them days before. Took windshield off to get to the parts they needed to and just left it off parked outside in the rain. Then didn't even bother to clean the water so radio went out and water sprayed out when I turned on the air or heat. Finally got rid of the guy after paying 10k in negative equity after having nothing but problems with it the entire time I owned it. I was lied to by Steve the manager and the mechanic sales guy (ty) slipped and let me know. Goto bille Estes, Andy morh, community, even a buy here pay here over buying a car from here. read more

In January 2020 I rented a 2019 Ford Escape Titanium in Boston and drove it to Indianapolis. It took me about a fifth of the way here to fall in love with it. I told my wife that an Escape was at the top of my list for my next car, but didn't expect that to be any time soon since I spend most of my time in Boston and don't have or want a car there. We have a 2008 Honda Odyssey that I use to tool around town when I come back to Indy, and I figured I'd use that for the next few years.... ....until it developed a problem that would be too expensive to justify fixing, and within hours I was suddenly and surprisingly in the market for a car. We got that news last Wednesday. That night I started looking online for used cars at local dealerships and found several possibilities but one at Bill Estes Ford in Brownsburg starting standing out more and more as I looked. I test-drove it Thursday night just before they closed, put a deposit down on Friday, and bought it the next day. I usually ponder my possibilities longer and more thoroughly than that, but I already knew what I wanted from the week with the renal. On both trips to the dealership I found salesmen J.B. (my lead contact there) and Chris (who did most of the work) to be friendly, informative, and open. I'll say the same for Joel in the business office on Saturday. Everyone and everything was straightforward and there were no shenanigans with dealer add-ons and other kinds of BS that I've heard of and experienced at some dealerships. Bill Estes' approach is the antithesis of Carmel's Hyundai of Napleton store, which my wife left in disgust last fall after going in to buy (not just look at, but BUY!) a Santa Fe. It's a great car and struck me as priced more-than-fairly (IMO) for a dealership sale, and it was a pleasure to deal with everyone at Estes. And the cherry on top is that I left with a full tank! I went to Bill Estes this week for an oil change in our Ford sedan. I had scheduled an appointment the day prior for a time that they had available that worked with my schedule. When I pulled up however I waited 10 minutes to just be able to pull my car into the service area, so they were packed. No problem really with anything so far as they are clearly busy. I waited in the service area that was easily the best of any Ford dealer I've visited. (We just moved to the area) My problem is that it took nearly two hours for an oil change and rotation. And when I asked what the status of my car was and said it's taking too long promptly had the service tech meet with me. But when he did he still had work left to do because they wanted to change my filters and things. This was really inconvenient because I had a meeting coming up. Overall if they could get the cars in and out that just require simple things then I would give them a higher rating as everything else was great. But two hours for an oil change and rotation is pretty slow, and I've always taken out car to Ford dealers. read more

Recently purchased a vehicle from them, after the paperwork was signed it was clear the sales team was done with me, left me standing in the middle of the show room. I've heard the service department is good but I will never buy another vehicle there. I have not heard a word from them since the purchase a month ago. Another Ford Dealership could not find and asked me to call Bill Estes. I have the manual, on how to set up second key(which Bill Estes did not give me either) so all I needed to know was where the reset button was. read more

UPDATE: I called this dealership to confirm an almost $5700 dealer discount on a vehicle they had advertised on cars.com and on the dealership website, and the salesman called me 2 hours later to tell me no, the dealer discount was incorrect and the price was much higher. Less than an hour later, the dealership changed the vehicle price on the dealer's website to reflect a $2700 reduction in the dealer discount. The vehicle was advertised with a $5600 discount, so I called to confirm that that was the price. I also asked Mike Parkham to email me a video of the car. 2 hours go by and no video. Instead I get a call from Mike 2 hours later to tell me that there was a mistake (of course there was a "mistake" -- who isn't surprised that an advertised price on TWO DIFFERENT WEBSITES, INCLUDING THE DEALER'S OWN WEBPAGE, is a "mistake") and that the advertised price is incorrect and the vehicle is actually $3,000 more than advertised. I tell Mike I am not surprised and his aggressive response was, "Hey, we are humans and make mistakes." I didn't like the aggression and I didn't appreciate the price scam so I told Mike don't bother to send me the video of the car and then I hung up. No need to continue the conversation when the salesman is being aggressive, making excuses, and the dealership won't honor their advertised price. Sorry, MIKE PARKHAM, your dealership is PRICE SCAMMING, plain and simple. Your dealership created the ad on cars.com and advertised the selling price, and your dealership listed the car on the dealership's own webpage for the SAME price. Then when I call to confirm the price, suddenly a "MISTAKE" was made. LMAO. When will you scammy, scummy dealerships learn that NO ONE is falling for your BS and will not buy a car from you when you SCAM? HONOR YOUR ADVERTISED PRICES! And what's worse............when will people like salesman Mike Parkham realize you have to be PROFESSIONAL at ALL TIMES with customers?
