Got my 2026 Honda CRV EXL from Hare Honda in July. After decades of owning Hondas I was instantly disappointed. I felt like I was driving the Kia version of the Honda but still paying the Honda price. We went on a road trip in September and this made me realize I had a Temu car at a Honda price. If all of the 2026 Honda's are like this shop elsewhere. The design is ok, the color is ok. The bells and whistles that should be included in an EXL are nonexistent. The doors don't unlock or lock like they are supposed to. Forget about trying to get the dashboard to work. Then there is the stupid radio. Each driver has to have an app on their damn phone. Try explaining that to your parents. I will never have another Honda in my life. I cannot wait to dump this Temu car. Buyer beware on these new 2026 redesigned Hondas. I could not recommend Hare Honda enough! I have made a personal pact with myself now to never buy anything but a Honda. I will still do hours and hours of research before I walk into a dealership though. I was not in a Honda for the first time ever when I bought a car in 2020 and just had to get what I could find that fit my qualifications for price and details. I unfortunately had come to realize how unsafe I felt in that car and that I needed to get back in a Honda with how much I was driving for my job. I had submitted a request for a trade in quote online late one night and decided once I saw the value I could get for my current vehicle, that I was going to trade in my car. I walked in with no appointment to Hare Honda, which I knew could be a gamble since I could not originally get ahold of anyone on the phone. As soon as I walked in Theo greeted me and asked how he could help. I looked at him and told him that I knew exactly what type of car I wanted and that I needed to be out of there in under 3 hours so please give me the best sales person that you've got. (I was on a major time crunch due to said job that I was driving a ton for and needed to drive another 75 miles for it that day.) Theo brought me over to Josh and let me give him my list of optional years on the car I wanted, but expressed how I would prefer the 2023 version. He quickly looked up their inventory and ran out to see what colors he had because they had been in the lot for such a short period of time, that they didn't have the color or picture listed. Josh was jogging back and forth to let me know they had a Red or Silver Honda CRV Hybrid Sports Touring and I told him I would like to test drive the Silver. Josh was able to drive the car up to the front to meet me and I took it on a quick test drive before I made the decision to move forward. They then got me over to their finance guy and got me started over there. I was able to even talk to a maintenance man and ask him about the tires on the CRV. I am a strictly Michelin Tire type of gal, so I was hesitant about the continentals. I looked at this man and asked him if he had any daughters, to which he told me yes and that his daughter had purchased an accord not long ago from here. So I was able to ask this man "would you feel comfortable letting your daughter drive this car, even without upgrading the tires immediately?" He told me that his daughter actually had 2 options for the same car but they had 2 types of tires and he had her purchase the car with the Continentals. I know a dealership is made up of mostly "yes-men" but I did feel like he was being genuine with me. It made me feel very comfortable and confident with moving forward with the car purchase. I know I will upgrade to Michelin when need to, but for now I feel comfortable. I appreciated that they were patient with me asking all these questions and the many others I had (because trust me I ask a lot of questions.) I also managed to be in and out of the dealership in under 3 hours, so if you don't want to waste an entire day buying your next car (especially when you come in knowing every details about the car before you've even set foot in it like I did) you need to come to Hare When we were nearing the end of my transaction, Josh had informed me that they had not even had the opportunity to take my car through a new car inspection, so he did not want me to leave with it. As disappointing as it is to purchase a car and not leave in it, I appreciated the honestly a lot. Josh assured me he could even deliver the car to me wherever I would be for my job at the time. Even though I explained I would be in Lafayette at the time, he was adamant that he did not mind leaving early on Monday to bring it up to me and then take my old car home. Josh sure did deliver and was incredibly kind and patient while I got to him to exchange keys. I could not stress this enough, that if you are going to purchase a new or used Honda, you need to check out Hare Honda and ask for Josh. I called in today in need of service for a vehicle and was met on the phone with an extremely rude woman who was less than helpful, to say the least. She was abrupt, made snide and smart mouth comments and was basically the antithesis of a person who should be serving in any kind of Customer Service role. There is no way that she should be on the front lines of any business that wants to succeed. She is a detriment. I will never be back. If you have other options, go there! Whenever you go into Hare Honda for service, you get to sit in your car for what seems like an eternity, only to find that inside you have 5 or 6 employees laughing and joking while you wait for service outside. This is the laziest and worst car service in the world. They all look at you like you're crazy when you ask if someone is going to respond to your scheduled appointment. Attitudes everywhere. Impolite. Then they tell you that the shuttle service you scheduled is not available, even though they confirmed it with you on their app just minutes before. A real "train wreck" outfit. I purchased a 2015 Honda Crosstour at Terry Lee Honda in the fall of 2015 through their Corporate Partnership Program. When they found out I worked for one of the biggest companies in Indianapolis and I had the means to make this information available to other employees to also use this program, they were ecstatic. The salesman got me in touch with Gary Weber who was the contact person for the Corporate Partnership Program at the time, and I worked with him to initially set up this program within my company. Gary eventually retired in 2017 or early 2108, and I worked with Karen Bayless from the sales group to set up the new information with the person who took over Gary's role. She too thanked me profusely for helping them make this program available for my fellow employees and keeping it updated (because she knew it meant more business for them). Flash forward 8 years and Terry Lee Honda is now Hare Honda. In January 2024 I discovered about a 3-inch strip of paint had come off my car along the back window, so I took my Crosstour in and spoke with Eric, the service manager. He said I would need to speak with Ali, but Ali was out of the office that day. I told Eric I would come back the following day. As I was leaving Marcus Schuh (General Manager) stopped and asked me if there was anything he could do for me, so I told him my situation. I also explained I used Hare Honda to service my car, and also told him about setting up the Corporate Partnership Program within my company, so I felt I was a good customer and I also thought I had brought in more business than just my own to their dealership. He said that was not his department and I would still need to talk to Ali. (I thought a General Manager managed the overall operations?) I returned the next day to speak with Ali, but he was with someone so Eric took my car around to the service area to take pictures of my paint issue. He said they would contact the Regional Parts and Service Director about it. Eric texted me the next day and told me the car was out of warranty and they would be "unable to participate in a repair". I thought at a minimum they might offer a discount on repainting it based on my history with them. It appears they are no longer grateful for the assistance I provided to them back in 2015 and again in 2018, even though I didn't have to do that, and I didn't ask for anything in return. So I do not plan to use Hare Honda for my future car maintenance. I will also have to rethink purchasing a Honda in the future. I will be looking at what other options might be available when it comes time to replace my Crosstour. I also have to agree with some of the other reviews. I can only speak to the service area at this time, but they do not seem to provide the same service that I used to get with Terry Lee Honda. When I pulled in for service under Terry Lee Honda, the service reps were already out there and waiting, or at least came out within seconds. Now when I come in under the Hare Honda ownership I too have stood around waiting for someone to come out to my car to assist me. I wondered if I was supposed to wait out by my car like I did with Terry Lee Honda, or if I was supposed to go inside for assistance. I miss the Terry Lee service I came to expect. He seemed to know how to train his employees to provide a higher level of service that keeps the customers coming back. Sadly, it appears he has retired. read more

Will never shop here again. Spent over 30 grand on a car here. Super nice during the sale but after I walked out that door.. that changed. From December 2023- April 2025 I've called up to Hare about 5 times with questions regarding my car, which I feel is acceptable. From being hung up on several times, short tempered responses from several employees(like they can't be bothered to answer a question), just all around horrible customer service. Asked about a warranty.. guy in the warranty department couldn't be bothered so he talked through the receptionist.. how does that seem like a good idea? She "answered" and I followed up with a question. She sighed and put me on hold. The guy in the warranty dep answered and said "since you didn't just have one question.. I got on the phone"... and you don't think that was what you should've done from the start? I asked my question and he couldn't t answer it.. surprise there.. so I asked if he had a number for Honda warranty corp.. he just said nope. Excuse me? I have bought several calls here over the years, and always brought those cars in for service. After this time, I will not do either. Two weeks ago, I had an appointment also, and was never helped, and left after 15 minutes of waiting. Today, I had an appointment, and my car was pulled into the service area. I stood for some time, with the service representatives seeing me there, and no one came out to help me. I just assumed they were all busy, so I waited. A nice gentleman pulled my car up so other cars could also come in behind me. After I had been waiting some time, a man with a truck pulled into the other lane, and one of the representatives immediately came out to help him. The gentleman who pulled my car up motioned that I was first, and the representative waved him off. I was livid, as this has happened to me in the past here. I walked over and let him know I had been first, which both he and the male customer both knew, and he laughed and completely ignored me! I (not a husband) have bought 4 Touring model CRVs here in the past 9 years, and I will not buy another. I also will never bring another car here for service. read more

Overall, I was very pleased with the customer service I received during my visit. I walked in knowing pretty much exactly what I wanted to purchase and thankfully they were able to locate my dear Honda CRV for me. The entire building was in a transitional process as they have new owners as of today, so you can only imagine that there were some hiccups here and there - but I was treated very nicely (by most) of the employees. Purchasing a vehicle is not something one does on a regular basis so as I write this, I realize how worn out I am from a day's worth of shopping around, making calls, signing papers, etc. But I am truly thankful for this location as they helped make my goal possible - which was finding the exact Honda I was hoping for this past week. BUY YOUR HONDA FROM A DIFFERENT DEALER! Hare uses questionable sales tactics. For example, I used the KBB trade evaluator (on Hare's website) to obtain the trade value of my 3 year old vehicle. I self-evaluated the condition as "good" (this is the 3rd ranked condition) since I wanted to be completely honest and didn't want to overinflate the KBB value by claiming it was "very good" or "excellent". I received the trade value and immediately received an email from Hare's "Guest Experience Specialist" and spoke with her by phone. It seemed I needed to meet with the dealer's "on-site appraiser" to verify the condition of my vehicle was what I claimed. After making the time to drive out to Avon, they had me meet with a salesperson who began by immediately asking what trade value I was seeking for my vehicle. I told him I was expecting the value offered on THEIR website which was the reason I was their. He then asked if I had seen similar vehicles selling for that price (like somehow I should be able to show him evidence to support THEIR trade value). When I told him the value was based on the KBB tool on THEIR website, he said "Well, I've never seen KBB actually write a check." So I immediately know where this is headed but gave him my key to allow them to evaluate my vehicle anyway. After about half an hour the come back with a trade value $4,000 lower than the KBB tool on THEIR website. At that point I expressed my disappointment and asked for my key back. That's when the sales manager appeared and tells me that he has know idea why his KBB tool would give me a higher value and that perhaps it was using "old data from 60 or 90 days ago". He said he ran it and it came up $3,000 less than what I was quoted (so immediately I can see that the original number was $1,000 less so this was a bait and switch to get you to the dealership so they can squeeze the quoted value lower). He also said the KBB tool on the HARE website was not affiliated with Hare and was run by a direct marketing company. The crazy thing is that if they had quoted me that number from the beginning before I drove there, I likely would have still completed the transaction but their tactics really made me distrust them (I just started imagining what kind of nonsense their financing/warranty person would try to pull if this is how their sales staff operates). I again shared my displeasure and left. I will never again step foot in a Hare-owned dealership. read more

EDIT: Now I am being pressured by them to take down my legitimate honest reviews before they even deliver my car or do anything to right their wrongs. They think offering me free oil changes at their dealership (which I don't plan on visiting ever again) will get me to remove my ratings they earned. I still don't have my car. Incompetent. Bought a used car a month ago. Last week, they frantically texted me at 5PM (how professional...) that I had to come in ASAP THAT NIGHT to resign paperwork and pick up a loaner so they could refile the paperwork. I live 45+ minutes away and was working late that night as a teacher. I told them since it was THEIR mistake, they needed to meet me as there was no way I could make it in time. They did. It turns out that they originally didn't file the paper work with the bank for my approved loan on time, so the bank sent it back. They had to "reset" the car they said and redo the paperwork all over again, but they had to have the car back at their dealership to do it. I have been waiting this whole week for them to refile the paperwork. Then I get a text tonight at 8PM that even though it was entirely their fault, they thought it was okay to inconvenience me as a customer and ask me to drive 45min each way to drop off the loaner and pick my car up. No advanced warning, just a text at 8PM. I question on why they don't want to drop off my car, did they do something to it? I do not trust them anymore. So now, daughter will have to drive another car with me, to make sure I get home okay. Again, now they are inconveniencing two people because of their mistake. I used to sell cars for another dealership in another location about twenty years ago , and I will say that I would stay clear of this dealership for many reasons. I would give this dealership zero stars! Absolute garbage place to shop and their customer service is worse than trash! Bought a lifted truck from them a year and a half ago and they sold me a warranty (fraudulently) with the truck(it was a higher mileage truck so I WOULDNT have purchased it without a warranty), when I went to file a claim with the extended warranty, the warranty company denied my claim due to the fact that the truck was modified-because that's how they sold it to me! The warranty company refused to do anything about it due to the dealership selling me a warranty fraudulently and the warranty was completely void! When I started calling the dealership for them to make their mistake right, I spoke with Mr. Fuller to begin the process! He said he would look into it because the finance guy who sold me the warranty was no longer working there. After I waited for hours for a call back, I started calling Mr. Fuller again and again and again, he dodged my calls completely! When my wife called from a different number, then he answered the call! After my wife spoke to him to figure out what was going on, he then stated he would look into it and called me back hours later asking for more information! After I told him the situation and sent him a invoice from a shop that was working on my truck, sent him all the paperwork he asked for, he then said he Would get back with me the following day! The next day comes around and I don't hear anything from anybody, I called the dealership and left voicemails and asked to speak to the manager of the dealership, every single manager and Mr. Fuller ignored my calls and voicemails! Next I show up at the dealership since nobody would talk to me about the mistake the dealership made, I waited in the lobby for 45 min to speak to a manager who pawned me off to a "business manager". His response to the issue was "we are sorry, but there's not much we can do for you, we can offer you employee pricing on parts and a 65/hour labor rate to fix the issue since they fraudulently sold me a warranty! But he said "don't shoot the messenger, I'm not the one who made the mistake". After me denying his offer and telling him that they will have to come up with a better offer, I waited another 45 minutes while he made phone calls to his GM and their best offer after I mentioned a lawyer and media was replacing the broken parts "at no cost to me" were Joshs (service manager) their exact words, but I would lose 1 year/30k miles that were left on my warranty! So I decided to cut my losses and take them up on their offer! I asked for a parts ETA from the business manager and he stated he wasn't working but he would get back with me the following day (friday). I didn't hear from him on Friday so I texted him asking for a parts ETA AGAIN, he read my text but didn't respond! Around comes Monday, I had to call and leave voicemails to get any kind of response from anybody, hours later, they finally reach out to me and tell me all the parts are there! I drove my truck over there to get a loaner and signed all the paperwork for it and the contract states it will have 3/4 of a tank of fuel and that's how I'm supposed to return it. Got in the loaner car and it has less then 1/4 of a tank and the floor board is dirty and disgusting which I will post pictures of! After the repair was completed the following day, I got a call and they said I could pick up the truck after I paid a 100 dollar deductible EVEN AFTER THE SERVICE MANAGER (Josh) SAID "AT NO COST TO ME", I tried calling him because he wasn't at the dealership and no response(go figure)! After I asked to speak with the GM of the dealership, the assistant service manager said that he doesn't have his number and he isn't at the dealership but in order to leave with my truck, I would have to pay 100 bucks even after the dealership fraudulently sold me a warranty! So I was sold something illegally, asked to speak to the GM and no one would let me do that and didn't want to make their mistakes right! Sound like a decent place to do business? I don't think so either! This place is trash, will make sure nobody I know ever does business here again until they make things completely right read more

My husband and I assisted my mother in law with finding a car. She lives in NC and came to Indiana to look with us. They found a vehicle she really liked at Hare Honda. After looking at approx. 50 cars around town, she decided to buy it. We worked with Paul Perez and he was great. His manager, unfortunately, was awful. Ryan VanScoyoc was incredibly rude to me. They had agreed on a price and he ran the tag, tax, title fees and came back with a MUCH higher price. We are talking around $500, when the first number had taxes on it already. When he presented it, he didn't show us the first sheet. I asked to see the first quote with the tax so I could see where the higher price was. He laughed in my face and said he didn't make the numbers up. I asked for the sheet again and told him he didn't have to be condescending, I am asking to see the difference. The man walked away and never returned. If the car had been for my husband and I, we wouldn't have bought. My mother in law was desperate and wanted to get back to NC, so she went ahead with the sale. The best part, was Hare Honda had to mail her a check for OVER CHARGING taxes and fees. They sent her a check for over $500! So, basically I was correct and if Ryan would have just listened for two seconds after I looked at both documents, we could have figured it out together. They open at 9 and we were driving 3+ hours to see it. Even let them know when we left our location at 6am. Got there at 9:20 and the car is out front with someone in it. They then took us to a desk and took our information like we had a chance at it. Acted like the financing might not go through and generally strung us along for an hour and a half. All the while the sales guy was fishing to see if he could sell us something else. After the first hour I was on the phone and we ended up with a great deal from Carmel Motors. My suggestion unless it's really convenient skip the big guy who doesn't care because there are plenty of people buying cars and go to a little guy who treats you right. read more

I asked for the deposit information. He said he was busy with another customer and would send it. I followed up 3 hours later and then he replied, "Sorry we sold the car, nothing I can do about it". So, in the end, we made a deal, and it fell through even though I tried to make a deposit. I went into Hare Honda to look at a 2017 Honda Civic listed for $14,900. I had a $12,000 pre-approved loan in hand, a car to trade in, and about $4,000 in savings to make up any difference. I was extremely interested in this car and was prepared to walk out of the dealership with it providing that the test drive and everything else went smoothly. When I first walked into the dealership, I was greeted by Paul Perez. Mr. Perez led me over to his desk to pull up the information on the 2017 Honda and to discuss the car. He asked for my license and car insurance information. While pulling up my insurance information, I suggested that he take a look at my current car to get an estimated trade in value. He agreed and I showed him to my car. I gave him the keys so that he could verify the milage. While in the front seat of my car, the front door slammed into the car next to mine - leaving a dent in the blue car, and a line of red paint that had now chipped off of my car (picture attached below). There was about 4 feet between my car and the one right next to it, so it was not a tight squeeze by any means. Mr. Perez then exclaimed "holy sh*t", and attempted to wipe the red paint off of the car. I asked if he knew who owned the blue car, to which he responded, "Yeah, it's been sold." We returned back inside the dealership, and Mr. Perez asked another associate to go outside and buff out the damage on the blue car. No mention was made about the damage done to my car at all. He offered no apology, and did not look at my car twice. I realize that humans, by nature, make mistakes and accidents happen. However, this accident occurred while Mr. Perez was in the front seat of my vehicle. Again, no apology was made towards me at all. He did not look to see the damage that he had done to my car. After seeing how the sales staff treats its clients and its vehicles (trade in and recently sold), I decided to leave the dealership. I collected my license, wished Mr. Perez a good day, and left. I went outside to assess the paint damage on my car and the very clear dent in the car next to mine. I decided to go back inside to see if anything could be done in terms of compensation for the paint damage done to my car. Frankly, if Mr. Perez had apologized or even looked at me like I was anything other than a paycheck, I probably would have dropped it. I went into the dealership and asked to speak to a sales manager. The lady at the front desk (who was absolutely wonderful and very sweet), motioned to a man who was busy with another customer. So, she looked behind her and motioned for - you guessed it - Paul Perez. I told Mr. Perez that I was wondering what kind of compensation I could get for the damage done to my car. To that he responded, "Are you serious? It was an accident. It was the wind. This is ridiculous." I said that I understood it was an accident, but my car still obtained damage. I mentioned that some form of apology would have been sufficient, but the fact was that there was still paint missing from my car. Mr. Perez then said, "What do you want me to do, paint your car?" Through the conversation his tone got more hostile and aggressive - a 6'0 man against a 5'0 girl, clearly trying to intimidate me. And honestly, it worked. People in the dealership were staring at us and I got so uncomfortable that I decided to leave due to how antagonizing the conversation was. I realize that Mr. Perez most likely saw a twenty-something with pink hair, her 2003 Honda, and thought that there was no way I could afford to drop $15,000 on a new one. Whether or not this is what he actually thought, his behavior towards me as a buyer and overall human was absolutely atrocious. I will be taking my loan and savings to another dealership and will never look twice at Hare Honda again - I recommend that you do the same. read more

I recently purchased a used Honda CRV at Hare Honda in Avon, Indiana. Here are my honest impressions of this dealership, their service, and the value I received thus far: 1. Excellent level of politeness, courtesy, and thoroughness on the part of the sales staff. Very good and friendly, as well as knowledgeable. 2. Clean and modern facilities with a good number of quality vehicles for sale. 3. They keep their word. A promise made is a promise kept with Hare Honda. I was promised a new windshield and key for my car and I received both in a timely fashion. 4. Superb and responsive management. They even gave me several free car wash tickets. 5. Honesty with a trade in. I have never experienced such customer care in regards to honestly reporting options for my trade in. Instead of pressuring me for a lower price, they actually provided me with several excellent locations where I could get more money for my car. I ended up following their amazing advice and getting top dollar $$$ for my trade in at a different location. It is clear that this dealership insists on customer satisfaction, even if it costs them money in the long run. The service staff is also top notch. I will point out that due to the incredible pressure they're under to maintain vehicles, the service area tends to be quite busy. While going through the financial process to purchase a vehicle. I was sent a text to me notifying me that they sold the car underneath my feet. When asked why didn't they hold the car for me they told me that since used cars are flying off the shelves so fast that they could not hold it for me. I sat and waited 30 minutes for somebody to come out and tell me I need to call the warranty and that it be a total of an hour and a half. I call the warranty to people in front of the guy. The people told me they had been waiting for them the whole time for them to tell them what the damage was. I've been here waiting for literally one tired to be changed while people came in after me were done before me. 0/10 ran poorly and I've seen the mechanic sitting down on there phones. I spoke with Miguel Vargas at Hare Honda on Thursday, July 12th after the firing of my previous salesperson. He told me he would put a sold sign in the vehicle that I was going to purchase and park it in the sold section on the lot until my financing came through as I was coming in to pay cash. The funds would be deposited Friday evening. The vehicle was sold out from under me that same Friday. I had inquired twice about bringing in a down payment and was told it was not necessary. Bought a 2012 Acadia here. Pulled out of the lot and before I hit the second light the check engine light came on. They clearly reset the check engine light just to sell a lemon. Now that we have tried addressing the issue they have refused to make any effort. On top of all that the manager was more than rude. When I told him that he,"sold me a lemon" I was asked to leave. My sales associate was helpful, knowledgeable, and very friendly. He and the others I interacted with donratr 5*s. The finance guy was also very friendly. Once we crunch numbers and they showed me the cost, I said ok great Ill take it. Finance guy said ok your score is ###. I responded with I'm pre-approved at my credit union AND I know my lowest score from all 3 crefit bureaus is ###...which was well over 50pts higher than he had just quoted me. Immediately his attitude changed but he asked if they could meet or beat the APR, would I finance with them. I responded if you can beat it, absolutely. He came back saying he couldn't beat it because my credit score was ###. Again I responded I had just checked and the lowest of the 3 was ###. His response was "you can't use Credit Karma." He became short and acted annoyed as he finished up the purchase order. The next day when returned with my check, a different finance guy took care of the paperwork. He was friendly and nice but it felt as if they couldn't get me out of there fast enough. This was the worst car purchase experience I had in the 10 cars I've purchased in my life. While I personally will definitely not purchase from this delearship again, I would give the sales associates I dealt with 5*s and recommned them. But I strongly caution buyers to know your credit score from all three credit bureaus before you try financing with them. read more
