This company deserves more than just five stars! I've heard so many reviews and stories from people of how much they really enjoyed having this septic company so finally I had my folks switch from their previous septic company that they were using, and start having Bill Jr. & Sons. As a septic expert, I expected that we would be getting really good service, but I never imagined how it would be even better than I thought. The pumper, Anthony let us know that he was on his way and arrived right on time. He was very friendly and showed great costumer service skills. He was the most friendliest pumper I've ever meet! (not all pumpers are that enthusiastic) He was able to find the septic tank easily and let me watch him pump it out. He told me the step-by-step process of how he cleaned out the septic tank. He had so much knowledge about managing septic systems that ya'll should know. He did the job super well! He even made sure that the filter was cleaned and that ALL the sludge was all pumped out! I of course tipped him well. Would totally have this company and Anthony, come back again! And would recommend Anthony to be the one to pump out your septic tank! He's a great guy, with a good heart and works hard. The price to get our septic tank pumped out was way cheaper than the other company we used. Seller beware! This company inspected my home for sale on behalf of the buyer and came back with an erroneous report that my septic tank needed to replaced. Not one but 5 different septic experts told me that there was nothing wrong with the tank and that the cover crack was superficial. Scared the buyer into demanding that the tank be replaced and we did not want to risk losing the sale. This was even more evident when the tank was out of the ground. the tank replacement proved to be arduous and expensive. and you also want to avoid Bill Jr. and Son septic who are the real culprits here. I rarely write reviews but I really felt I need to in the case of Bill Jr and Son Septic. In 8/22, we had a pre-sale inspection done on our home to make sure when we put our home on the market, there will be no surprises. The inspection company used Bill Jr and Sons. The owner of the company came out and did the inspection and provided a written report that said our septic was in fine shape and performing well. When we put our home on the market in April 2023, we received a cash offer for purchase and the offer was contingent on the well and septic passing inspection. The well did great however, the company that performed the septic inspection failed the system stating that our dry well was not functioning and needs to be replaced. As a result, we lost the sale of our house. We called Bill Roy and had another owner of the company come out to explain why they saw no problems and yet the other company failed the system. When he came out he essentially agreed with the other company that our dry well needed to be replaced. They charged us another $350 and that was the last we ever heard. No report was provided and our efforts to contact them for a report have been ignored. Do not use this company for anything! They will provide you with inaccurate information and take your money. I am so unhappy with this business, that I made a YELP account just to inform others. Bill JR and Son Septic LLC were used to inspect our home before purchase. The son came out, opened the septic hole and deemed it was fine. We purchased our house, and less than a year later we have had three separate septic companies come out to inspect it and all have stated that the entire system needs to be replaced, and that this should have been noticed a year ago upon the first inspection. Bill JR and Son have been ignoring our calls each time we have tried to politely inquire. When finally we left a message saying that it was perhaps, time to call a lawyer the father called us back immediately and was both rude and unprofessional. talk about negligence and poor customer service. don't waste your time. read more

I'm so sad to leave this review - Bill did an inspection before we purchased our house - after his inspection he told us the septic system was in great shape and we had years of good use ahead of us. Shortly after moving into the house we noticed a puddle of septic in the back yard and called Bill again - he came out, took a look at it and told us we just needed the tank pumped, which he did. The puddle went away for a bit, and then returned. We called Bill again - they scheduled a time to come and then just never came. I called, left voicemails, texted - no one ever picked up or returned my calls. As it turns out, they did us a huge favor. We ended up contacting another local company that came out, as promised, and found that there was a serious issue with our septic field. Their assessment was that no one should ever have told us that the system was in good health, and that this problem had obviously been around for years - meaning it should have been caught during Bill's two previous visits. I can't even give this company a one star review but yelp is making me since i can't post without a rating. They are literal crooks who on two separate inspections have told me that a septic tank was cracked when it wasn't. Had a second company come out to check and they told me they consistently hear from people who have had similar issues with Bill Roy. I was recently eating dinner at the Chase Avenue McDonald's in Waterbury and was suddenly overcome by a violent, obnoxious odor that caused most of us to leave the restaurant. I looked out the window and much to my dismay saw a Bill Jr and Son septic truck out of Newtown, CT emptying a septic tank. They should have, at the very least, informed the staff that they were about to empty the tank so that the air conditioning system could have been turned off. Ideally, they should have chosen a more opportune time to perform a procedure that has revolting consequences. I had to go home and remove all of my clothing and was nauseous the remainder of the evening. They performed the procedure without any consideration for the staff and customers in and around the building. If this is the quality of work performed by Bill and of Newtown, CT, I would not let them anywhere near my home or business. read more

I am only writing this review to hopefully save someone else from having my experience with Bill Roy Septic. My realtor set up the inspection before I purchased my house and recommended Bill Roy. I was told it was from 1965 but in good working order. A year later, I had my tank pumped out by another company. The top of the lid had a crack in it and needed to be replaced because it broke when it was removed. The baffle had collapsed and the pipe going distribution box was broken at the tank. There was also a crack in the tank that ran from that pipe to the bottom of the tank. I called Bill Roy who came out and looked at it. He admitted that the damage was probably there during the inspection and agreed to replace the tank if I paid for the labor, which I thought was very fair. He told me I needed to have a B100a done to have the tank replaced. I paid him to do that which cost me $1100 and he left my yard a disaster. He said he'd be in touch to do the install. Months went by and he would return my text or phone call saying he would be there soon. Then I never heard from him again. After multiple phone calls to both numbers and texts that never were returned, I knew I was burned. He is a scam artist and a thief. I see there are some positive reviews on here. I believe they must not have had any issues with their systems. Before he gets paid, he is very responsive and knowledgeable. But the amount of low rating stars should be a red flag. read more

Bill Jr and Son were used to inspect a house for sale and returned a report that septic was not functioning and a further $900 test was needed. The only problem was they dug for the tank in the wrong place even after being provided with a map- literally just a random spot in the yard. The entire report was rebuffed two days later after hiring a competent firm. Save time and money and hire someone else. read more
