I'm very disappointed in the service at this location. Mind you, I've been to this location since I was in high school, nearly over 20 plus years and I can actually say the service at this location has gone down hill. I have actually moved back to this area 6 years ago and have seen it go down hill since. The wait to order has never taken this long, just to take my order then to have attitude from the staff that you can sense just by placing your order. Then let's not talk about the wait it takes just to get to the window to get your order. I've come at times when there is hardly any people here and I could be sitting in the drive thru like for 15-20 min. Today set me overboard. I ordered online and when I picked up my order I was told they didn't have my order only to see that my order had been sitting on the counter right behind the cashier. Very nice brisket and smoked turkey! Their bbq sauce is good but I even prefer the meat dry personally. The rancher plate with 2 meats is the way to go! My usual preferred sides are the cole slaw, potatoes, and hash browns are always a solid choice! Their pies are quite nice too! read more

I don't eat a lot but when I got my chicken I was very disappointed how small it was. It is definitely not a quarter. The leg was a little larger than a chicken wing. I had to go back and order me brisket, which I was charged another $4.54, bringing the total to $11. Not worth it. Also, the staff was not very attentive. I have been a customer of Bill Miller all my life. That's over 60 years. This location has changed that. On three separate occasions my brisket was not even slices in my po boy. Chunks of dried beef ends and fat. Twice had whole slices of just fat‍. Decided last trip to get extra lean even though I prefer it marbled. So tough I couldn't eat it. I just can't believe. She tried twice to give us a poor boy sandwich belonging to the OTHER old couple in front of us in line. Then, we had to wait about 5 minutes for marbled brisket after we got two links for two different people served on one plate. The brisket we got was wrapped in paper instead of on a second plate (so we are still sitting there, now with cold sausage, on one plate.) I asked for green beans, but she forgot about those because she was trying to find the owner of the poor boy. Finally, as I'm taking my tray to a table, the worker bee with the poor boy rushed past me bumping into me enough that I could have easily dropped my tray. "Ooops ," and kept walking. I was standing in line and witnessed the young female manager with glasses be obnoxious to a handicapped lady in a wheel chair. She was getting a refill from one of the employees when the manager came around the corner and said, "How many refills have you had??! You only get 3." The lady said, "This is my second one." Then right in front of the lady the manager asked the employee, "How many refills has she had??!" The employee stood there awkardly as she couldn't believe what was going on. Then the manager said, "I just keep seeing you come back up here constantly." The manager was standing behind the counter at a distance shouting in front of everyone, rather than walking to the poor lady in her wheelchair and explaining the policy about refills. I have not been to San Antonio in forever but when I saw a Bill Miller BBQ near our hotel we had to go for dinner. Of course I didn't look at the reviews because this use to be the place to eat! Well the employees started off rude because they wanted us to know what we wanted right way without looking at the menu. My husband got the same amount of meet as their rancher plate but with no sides (the plate came with 3 sides and drink) and was charged the same price. When we asked why we were told that is just how it is. Oh the sides! Fries, cream corn, green beans, and beans were the only choices. No regular corn, mac and cheese, mash potatoes, potato salad, etc that you would expect for BBQ. Plus they looked gross so for no sides or drink you get charged the same price. My husband got the ribs. He could barely swallow the first bit because they were gritty and tasted burnt. My daughter and I both got chicken strips with fries. They were nothing great and I couldn't get my chicken loving girl to even want to eat them after a few bits. The fries tasted like they had been re heated. I was so hungry I was forcing myself to eat it until I found a hair in my gravy. I was thinking well maybe it was mine but then found another one on the kids plate. We had already gotten a refund for the meat and the employees were so rude (the manager wouldn't even speak to us) that we just left without eating much of the food we paid for. Every time I come to this bill millers there's always something wrong with my food, either there's missing items that I ordered or the strips are always dried out, even after asking for fresh strips they always seemed to give me the bs that they are fresh strips. Either I have bad luck when I come here or this bill millers employees are lazy to serve fresh food. I wanted to get what i usually get which was the chicken fried steak. But I guess they don't sell it anymore. Very disappointed in that. So I went ahead and got my second favorite the pork but the sauce isn't the same and the meat wasn't amazing but good. I love Bill Millers. My favorite thing to get here is a Salad with dark meat. The ranch dressing is so delicious, and I like to ask for extra cheese. However, even with asking for extra cheese, they are very stingy with their cheese. Sometimes, if I order through the drive thru and ask for extra cheese, they'll 'forget' to put it in. There has been a few occasions where they ran out of some stuff, like chicken, ranch, etc. The BBQ is good, but I'd rather go to somewhere else for BBQ. It can definitely get crowded. It is right next to Rigsby, so I try to take the backroads to get home. All in all, It's a good place, it's close by home, but I think I have experienced better Bill Miller's around town. read more

I have been eating at Bill Miller's for many years and today I received by far the worst service experience EVER. The employees at the Rigsby location are extremely rude and unprofessional, especially the girl who took my drive thru order today. She refused to provide her first name after I repeatedly asked for it and then she has the nerve to tell me that I can't speak with a manager. After waiting several minutes and repeatedly asking for a manager, Jose Spaulding (Sounds fake) finally gets on and very poorly apologizes for my experience. He also says he cannot provide his employees first name which I find hard to believe because aren't all employees required to wear name tags at all establishments? I wouldnt be asking for her name if I would have gotten off and went inside. Also, it took me asking 3 times to get Jose to give me his first name. When I asked for his name the first time, he responds with "Mr. Spaulding". They acted childish and because of that I won't be doing business at this location anymore and I'll be sure to spread the word to friends and family as well about my experience. read more

We pick up thru the drive thru after arriving home 20 min away we found our chicken strip combo was missing. I'm not sure what other BBQ joints other reviewers are comparing this too, but this isn't BBQ. Let's begin with the rude as cashier at the fast food pick-up counter, I explained that we were passing through and had never visited here so instead of taking the time to explain or even help out with the menu she begin to roll her eyes and give us an impatient look. So, I ordered my kids the number 4 (chicken tenders) which my daughter said the ranch tasted like mayo and the chicken was flavorless. My husband had the number 2 and also complained that while the chicken was moist it was not seasoned at all or even placed in a good brine. I ordered the rib plate with brisket (because Texans love their brisket or so it's noted on TV) and while the brisket was extremely tender it was flavorless along with the dry rib (I'm not talking dry rub either but over cooked or placed too long under the heating lamp). The sides were coleslaw that needed to be doctored up, green beans from a can smothered in a tomato sauce, pinto beans with no seasoning. But even with all that you can typical work with the meal if the sauce is boss, in this case the boss should step down because this was nothing but tomato sauce from a can thickened slightly with tomato paste (no molasses, brown sugar, onion/onion powder, salt, pepper, etc.). I couldn't believe that there are so many locations and various Bill Miller restaurants still in business with such poor service and quality of product. read more
