We stayed at the Hyatt for four nights and had breakfast here each day, so we got to try a ton! Also, the atrium area of the hotel where Q kitchen is located is strikingly beautiful. Favorite item was the Alamo huevos rancheros. This was a rare treat to enjoy a dish with brisket, cheese, and salsa without some kind of heartburn afterwards. But this was lighter than expected and tasted amazing! Other dishes we tried: Egg white frittata: very good and a nice touch that it is served in a skillet! Texas waffle: was one of the best waffles either of us has had in a long time Blueberry pancakes: very good. I really enjoyed the stewed blueberry Chilaquiles: this we felt was the only miss. Didn't like that it was prepared with tortilla chips instead of fried tortillas Steak and eggs: ask for extra chimichurri sauce and maybe add some extra salt. Once you do that, this dish is fantastic Avocado toast: this definitely needs smoked salmon or other protein. Otherwise it isn't very substantial. I stopped by Q Kitchen on my second night in town. It was pretty late at night, but the bar was still boisterous. I was helped right away and ordered a canned mocktail plus the brisket quesadilla. As I was waiting for the quesadilla, I realized I was starting to doze off (it had been a LONG day of work), so I asked if my order could be revised to takeout instead. I felt bad switching it up, but they were cool about it. I brought it upstairs not long after and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. If you are looking for an indoor breakfast spot and still want to get a little view of the riverwalk check out Q Kitchen. They also have plenty of TVs that are usually playing sports. I also heard some live acoustic music in the evenings. This morning I tried out the San Antonio Breakfast Skillet with a side of bacon and blueberry-pork sausage. It was more than plenty for one person that I needed a to-go box. The chorizo is flavorful and pairs well with the ranchero salsa. Definitely try the blueberry-pork sausage! It is delicious! I was a little hesitant because the word blueberry was throwing me off, but it was perfect. There is a little hint of maple syrup too and not too strong of a blueberry flavor. There was 4 others besides myself. I sat at the bar. I ordered a glass of pino grio and a crème brûlée. The bar tender disappeared, the pino wasn't good (sent it back when she returned). The first day we tried the buffet , it was kind of a disappointment, a lot of empty items and it took time to fill it up. I had to ask 2 different people just to get a coffee. I wish they had the coffee out so we can just do self service . The food was okay , my hubby mentioned the omelette was really good . Oh Q Kitchen Bar thanks for simply being the best! I stayed at the Hyatt for 19 days and frequently stopped by the Q Bar because the food was tasty, the drinks delicious, and the service fantastic. On Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays live music was played during the evenings which was very pleasant. They had a menu change while I was there so I'm not sure if everything I ate is still available. I particularly loved the brisket flatbread but the shrimp avocado tacos was where it was at. They were large, flavorful, and quite filling! I found when I wanted a light meal they were absolutely perfect. The avocado caprese salad was good but would have liked more cheese and less avocado. Once the cheese was gone I didn't think the avocado could carry the tomato like the cheese could. But with any restaurant it was the people working there that made me come back time and time again. Leeza and DJ were super pleasant to talk with - easy going, good listeners, and very responsive. There was another bartender whose name I didn't catch who was also very responsive and noticed when I needed something. Then there was Ryan who became part of my vacation experience because his knowledge of cocktails and alcohol was astounding. When the evenings were slow he would experiment with ingredients and come up with an array of flavors that were just marvelous. I am quite astounded that a craft cocktail bar hasn't swooped in to steal Ryan away but I am sure the Hyatt realizes how amazing of a bartender there is. But my shoutout has to go to Isaac. Isaac warmly greeted me when I first came and made me feel like a regular from day one. Not only that - one night when a particular man wouldn't leave me alone despite me telling him I had no interest in what he wanted Isaac stepped in and deftly helped out. I have been in this situation a few times in my life but this is the first that I had someone in the other side of the bar step in and intercede. I wish I could remember our waiters name because he was so great, very personable and answered all of our questions about the area. I loved this place so much while I was visiting San Antonio!!!! It was one of the best hotel restaurants I've ever had. It was definitely worth the money since usual hotel restaurants are upscale but don't have as good food as this place. I was at this hotel for a week and I got to enjoy meals here almost everyday. It was hard to go eat anywhere else outside the hotel lol. My most favorite meals I had here that I had more than once were the huevos rancheros for breakfast, Q hot chicken which I had more than 3 times out of the week since I switched between having it for lunch or dinner. Lastly the house salad was really good, after having it as a side salad I decided to have it for dinner one of the nights. Overall the staff was great too and it was very nice just charging everything to the room which made paying convenient. This is definitely a solid lunch spot. It is a little on the pricey side for lunch but, it is within a hotel. That's is to be expected. I always get the Pasta Bar option. You can add your own pasta sauce or mix and match. (I mix the marinara and Alfredo) It's $15 and you get unlimited made to order pasta, salads, and a ton of dessert options. The $15 covers all soft drinks and tea as well. It's a nice spread for sure. The pasta is pretty delicious but sometimes they can make it a little on the oily side. I recommend asking for light oil, with the pasta chef. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about the offerings. When you stay at the Hyatt, you have to catch drinks and appetizers here. My last stay we had beers and Diamond Margaritas. I find that the place goes through furniture identity crisis. I have seen the place go from semi-comfy sectional furniture, to uncomfortable bar tables and chairs, to oversized chairs with dining tables, to the now deep-seated sofas and very low side chairs with high tables for eating. I wish they could figure this furniture thing out. For a bar too, there is harsh bright lighting from the elevator area. read more

This was our favorite place to just go and sit in San Antonio. We ended a few nights here to have a casual drink in their nice bar/lounge area. There's live music on the weekends too. The bar area overlooks a nice indoor river area and you can relax while listening to the water go down the indoor water fall. There's never a wait and it's way less crowded than most of the places on the river walk- although because the all glass facade you still feel like you're dining on the river. The escape from the humidity is an added plus as well. For our last night in San Antonio, we decided to have dinner here. Great prices and good portion sizes as well. This place will not disappoint! The food and drinks are delicious! We ordered the "special chicken sandwich" and hummus plate as well as the brisket quesadillas. Everything was scrumptious and amazing. Plates were cleaned...every last bite. Service was also very good. We've been traveling all over Texas for a week and this is one of the best meals we've had.
