I have been shopping for an RV to take around the USA and came here to see a specific model. The salesman I had was Joe who showed me precisely what I wanted to see and was not pushy at all. That's good since I don't respond well to that kind of sales tactic. I didn't buy anything but if I choose to buy a new RV I will be back. The first impression is deceiving - when you pull in there is a very small parking lot but there is a huge inventory here. I would give this place a 0 if I could. The salesperson was very nice; however, she showed us a class c camper that was FILTHY. I could not believe they would show a camper in such disarray. The floor was FILTHY; toilet was FILTHY; kitchen sink FULL of RUST and FILTHY. I was immediately ready to leave as soon as she showed it to us. **LONG REVIEW, BUT IMPORTANT** I truly am a very understanding person and rarely leave reviews for bad experiences but I felt this needed to be shared to warn others. I gave them a lot of chances. If I could give negative stars, I would. This place is awful. To start, we inquired on a 2020 Keystone Hideout on 4/18/22. A sales rep got back to us in a timely manner to let us know it was available. We then had our trade valued. We had applied for pre-approval financing with our local CU (we are 5 hours from Winston-Salem on the west side of Knoxville, TN). I had already told the sales rep this. He called me back the later and said "your application has been approved! You guys have excellent credit scores!" I was confused because we had not applied for financing through them at all. He then proceeded to schedule a demo date for us on 4/21/22 at 12:30pm. I got off the phone, thought a second, called him back almost immediately, and asked him how we could be approved because we hadn't even applied through them? He said "ummm, yeah, you're loan is not approved yet so I don't know what you are talking about. Who called you?" I said "you...". He then said "oh sorry, I thought I was talking to a different customer!" That is concerning because what if he had given out sensitive information? I thought oh well, just a little mix up. I assumed the demo was still on, and the next day (Tuesday) we received approval from our CU. I called our sales rep immediately and he said "Who scheduled a demo for you? Was it me?" I, again, said "yes...." He said "oh, I'm not at work right now but I'll have to check that tomorrow (Wednesday)". We were supposed to have the demo Thursday. I called the sales manager to ask on this because we needed to know as we were 10+ hours round trip and had already asked off work. The sales manager confirmed we didn't have a demo date scheduled and that there was no way he could have it ready by then. I asked to be transferred to another salesman because it was getting ridiculous in an already stressful situation with a large purchase. He transferred me to a new sales rep, who was great. He asked me what I knew about the rig and I told him nothing other than the last rep said it was in good, used condition. He then told me it actually has some "minor cosmetic issues". He sent me pictures of the "minor cosmetic damage". I immediately new it was water damage and appeared to have came from the slideout seal. He confirmed this was the case with his shop, but that it "had been fixed". At this point, I am absolutely furious because of all that happened just to find out that the original sales rep neglected to inform us of WATER DAMAGE. We would have never even bothered with this company and had our credit pulled, then struck a deal if we had known this. I voiced my frustration and was only given "We understand. We are sorry, but there is nothing else here in your price range". They wouldn't even work with me on negotiating a price on another rig after all that had happened. read more

I have had my camper in since 8/9/20. The appointment was for 8/12/20. Plemmons did not even start the yearly inspection for over a month then said the rear bed that was broken was not under warranty and it was. So now it has been over two weeks since Jayco confirmed the warranty and they still don't have the bed even though I was told it was approved and should have shipped by 10/16/20. Today is 11/2/20 and I called and was told there are too many notes on the service ticket that the person in maintenance doesn't know what is going on. Someone is supposed to call me tomorrow to let me know. This is rediculous. The only reason I will ever take a camper back is because with the Jayco warranty I have to. It has to be within 30 days of the purchase date each year so I can't wait until the winter to take it in. I missed two months of time when I could be using it. read more

I live an hour away from the dealership and worked with several of the employees via telephone and text. I had an awesome experience and had all my questions answered in a quick manner. The employees at Bill Plemmons made everything easy and gave me a peace of mind when it came to purchasing my new rig. I'm a first time RVer and had several questions: Kyle and Rich answered all of my questions and my first campaign experience went flawless! Danny in parts led me down the right path for all the equipment I would need to have a successful trip and only recommended the best even if it was cheaper in price than similar products on the shelf. Buyer beware! I took my 5th wheel camper in for several warranty repairs at Bill Plemmons. First I will say the process took 4 months to get the work done and some of that was due to parts shortage. That part was semi understandable. At one point, the service manager Matt called to let me know there would be a charge for the door adjustment that was not covered. No problem, I will pay that charge. Acouple of days before my repairs were "complete" he called again to tell me that they needed to de-winterize to check and see if the faucet repair was no longer leaking. I said ok. He never bothered to tell me the were going to charge me $149.99 to drain the system. Just so you know the cost to winterize was $105. I arrived to pick up my coach and was shocked at the charge to simple hook the water hose up and open a faucet. My guess is the felt they didn't make enough money off of warranty work, so the squeeze you for whatever they can get. Very bad business practice and they have lost a customer. The worst part, management at the store couldn't handle the issue and just referred me to the owner in Winston Salem store that ofcourse was not available and still hasn't returned my call. read more

RV sales must be good because your sales team clearly has no motivation to try. We walked the entire lot without seeing a single rep. Went into the office, to find 4-5 sales people sitting on their butts. As we looked through brochures, one gentleman asked if we could find what we were looking for, then told us they were out of that particular brochure. That was the last word uttered to us and they went back to chatting and staring at their phones. We will be buying an RV soon, but it certainly won't be from here. If this is the treatment you get before you spend money, I can only imagine how bad it is once they've gotten paid. read more

Great interaction with all of the employees from first contact on internet to farewell as we drove out of dealership with new Brand Design Imagine trailer. Kyle was low key but very helpful as we looked at different models. We made a couple visits before settling on a particular size and model and we were never rushed or hurried. Jamie in business office did a great job as did the techs doing checkout for delivery. UPDATE 2-Oct-2018: After hearing my story, a service manager contacted me and asked about my issues. He agreed, it seemed to be more than a battery issue going on. They took it in as a special side project and ran extensive tests and determined that there was a very rare issue with the converter which made the camper appear to be charging fine but as it heated up, it actually discharged the battery and at the same time made it appear that the battery had a fault. He said he had only seen this issue once in his 20+ years of repairing campers. They replaced the converter, which was covered under warranty, and now everything is working as expected. I understand this was an extremely rare situation and I am thankful they went the extra mile. I debated whether to update my review to 3 or 4 stars and ended up on 4 since this was such an unusual issue (would have been 5 if they had taken the time to consider more options originally). In they end they did take care of me though, and that does say a lot about this company. ORIGINAL: Service/Warranty Review: NEVER BUY THE EXTENDED Warranty. Everything was fine during the factory warranty period. We took it in a few times and everything was covered. Once the factory warranty was over was a whole new story. First off, the shop rate is $135 DOLLARS PER HOUR compared to my ASE certified master mechanic who has a shoprate is $80 per hour. At this price I expect the absolute best of the best which is certainly not what you get at Bill Plemmons. Since we had purchased the extended warranty which ran us several thousand dollars, we expected the camper would be trouble free at least during the warranty period. Sadly this was not the case. Our camper developed a mysterious issue within the electrical/charging system during the 3rd year of ownership. We took it into the shop and they said it's just a dead battery. We accepted it and purchased a new battery. During the 4th year (current year) we are on our 3rd battery of the year and about to get a 4th. Something within the camper has got to be causing the battery to fail. Batteries do not just fail on their own like this (at least not 3 in a row). We took it in again to have it looked at to find out why our camper is continually killing batteries. It took them them 2 and half weeks to get back to us just to tell us the battery has dead cells. My thought is 'ok yeah, that's why we brought it in. This battery is a month old. Please tell me why the batteries keep failing.' After several conversations, they say the camper is fine other than the battery and offer no further solutions. I understand electrical issues are difficult to diagnose, but I expect more than 'see there's your problem, you got a dead battery' at $135 per hour. Two and half weeks later and $150 lighter I'm still in the position of needing a 4th new battery of the year and having no clue why. I'll likely take it to a real mechanic at $80 per hour which is what I should have done in the first place, and would have, if it weren't for the useless warranty. I do have to say the guys were all very nice and pleasant to work with, and do feel bad if this review affects them personally. Though, I do think it is important to let you guys know what you might expect from Bill Plemmons RV. My personal assessment is they seem to be overbooked, quite possibly under trained and very likely not certified with minimal experience diagnosing and troubleshooting difficult and hard to find issues. read more

Buying a camper from them was fine. We were required to return the camper every year for an inspection in order to maintain the warranty. There is no point in making a reservation because they keep the camper an excessively long time. This year we dropped the camper off in early August. Its mid October and they still haven't begun the needed repairs. They blame Jayco, saying they needed approval to replace something that is under warranty. We contacted Jayco several times and got immediate replies saying yes, the repair was covered under the warranty. Bill Plemmons does not make repairing items that are under warranty a priority. In the 4 years we've owned our camper it has spent a total of 6 months sitting in their lot waiting on the mandatory inspection and some minor repairs. read more

My husband and I had a great experience at Bill plemmons in Raleigh, NC. We randomly stopped at this dealership while visiting our daughters because we had been researching rvs in Ohio. We Told Aaron P. We were just looking And we were from Ohio but he gave great service anyway. He continued to answer our questions after we had return to Ohio and in two months we returned NC and bought a grand design 21BHE. Of course we can't forget all the help we got from the two Kyle's. They treated us like family. Rich and his Crew prepare the trailer and trained us on everything. Danny helped us find any supplies we needed to get started on our journey with 15% off. We had been so excited to buy our fifth wheel from Plemmons. The reason we chose Plemmons quite honestly were the people...they seemed honest and trustworthy, and committed to service. What a disappointment- no return calls and waiting months to fix warranty issues. Fast forward from our purchase in October to December- We called at 8am to pick up the rv to take on vacation, and had to wait 3 1/2 hours in the rain for them to pull it around up front. Took the day off work and drove from Raleigh to Winston Salem for a morning appointment to have the Stability Plus leaf springs put on my tow vehicle. My appointment seemed to be non-existent, and I had to wait for a tech to get around to me. None of the grease fittings were tightened, and I have already lost one of the three. NO grease was added to any if the fittings, and I received no paperwork on this product with the exception of my $700 plus receipt. Hurried, sloppy work at best. read more

This review is for the PARTS DEPARTMENT specifically...I called the parts department and spoke to Caleb, we needed a new door latch for our 2015 THOR Miramar motorhome. The door latch on our motorhome literally broke on 7 Jun 16 and we were staying at the Rocky Mount KOA. They are the only ones in the area(one hour drive to Raleigh) that could get the doorlatch we needed in one day (camping world said it would take about 4 to 5 business days). Caleb was very helpful and patient while we were on the phone and together we found the correct door latch required. He returned my phone calls when necessary and even called me today (8 Jun 16) to tell me that the doorlatch arrived. This is the best parts department I have encountered in our 1+ year on the road with our RV. My only wish would be that there were more Caleb's working in service departments around the countryside. I took my Winnebago Micro Minnie trailer in to have a sewer hose holder installed. Service guy Matt ordered the part promptly and gave me the first available time. Service started the moment I got there and was finished promptly. They even did a few little extra things I asked for when I got there. Matt took the time to show me the drill for emptying black tank and flushing. I am very happy with the service and promptness. I plan to take my TT there for any future work needed. read more

Decided to have warranty work done here (despite being an hour drive from my house) to avoid the dreaded camping world...not sure the results and customer service ended up being much different. I have a laundry list of frustrations during our service here, but boils down to two missed timelines, lack of communication, and poor quality work (entire gaps in roof self-leveling caulk job which weren't caught until I walked the roof on pick up; also ended up recaulking entire perimeter of roof myself because was performed so poorly or sections not caulked at all). Was really hoping my experience would prove the other reviews wrong and I could give glowing reviews to a family owned business....but unfortunately ended up being quite the headache. Although the staff is always saying they will do everything to make sure you have your RV back so you can get to your next scheduled trip, it never happens. Was told to bring the motorhome immediately once we got back in town from a trip when the refrigerator died on us. Also, this is a new motorhome and we haven't had it but just over a year. Did what they told us to do, kept communicating to make sure they were working on it and then 4 days before our scheduled trip we get told they had no idea they were suppose to look at the refrigerator. A few months later, when I took to the road with the RV for the first time after the visit to Plemmons, I discovered an oil leak. The intention of this review is to share the HEDIOUS experience I had with the service department at BIll Plemmon's RV dealer in Raleigh, NC this week. After attending the RV show at the NC Fairgrounds last fall we purchased a new Forest River Cherokee Travel Trailer. The dealer was from Chocowinity, NC and recommended we call Plemmons for future services to avoid the 2+ hour distance traveling for service. The magnetic brakes on the trailer were not working properly and needed to be adjusted to keep the 33' RV from "bucking' when braking. I called Bill Plemmons service department who quickly informed me that they ONLY service their own customers. They recommended I call the Plemmons RV in Rural Hall (2+ hours away in the opposite side of the state). I called Plemmons RV service in Rural Hall who arrogantly also informed me they take care of their own customers first and that the soonest they could fit us in was May 24th, since we did not buy the RV from them. Disgusted, I called Forest River Corporate Warranty Division who was surprised and disappointed how Bill Plemmons Service Division failed to address the matter saying that they will make a special note on their end regarding the lack of customer service and the unprofessional manner in Bill Plemmons failed to address a vehicle with a sophisticated/expensive warranty in place. Forest River Warranty Division (very nice and extremely helpful) suggested I call Bill Pemmons Service Department back and ask them if they could recommend another local service provider. I offered to pay out of pocket because Forest River would reimburse me with no problem. Not surprisingly, the service department never called back (which appears to be a common complaints by others online). Yesterday, I called Hawley Campers World in Raleigh (they sell and service Forest River RV's ) and they are looking at the RV on this coming Friday, and they were very courteous. I will update this review after Friday:) I strongly suggest everyone read all the negative reviews online on them and Bill Plemmons RV at all cost...unless you wish to waste your time and energy and $. Be very careful when you purchase an RV from this company. We purchased a 2014 Motor Home that has a badly designed septic system. It backs up and has to be snaked every time to get the feces and toilet paper out of it. We have had it in 2x's and the first response was "what kind of toilet paper are you using", uh, the paper we bought in your store..and the second time the response is "the manufacturer designed it this way, nothing we can do"....really? read more

We bought our Forest River coach from Plemmons in Raleigh. It is a 2025 and was new. ONE AND 1/2 YEARS LATER and they still haven't fixed the issues reported when we bought it. We took it in and left it for a week. The only thing they did was the oil change and routine maintenance. We call and no one returns our calls. Considering a class action lawsuit. We bought a brand new class c from them a few months ago. The sales staff was great to work with!! I held off on writing this review to give the service department another change and see if it was just a bad day for their service manager Russ. However, it seems that it is just him. I would not recommend this location to anyone just because of Russ. When we were looking at the unit to buy, the AC was not cooling it down like it should. So the salesman had Russ come out and check it. He said that the unit was performing as it should. So, we took him at his word. When we bought the unit and the shop did a walk through to check everything they had to replace the AC units' board. Because it was not working correct. Strike one. So we thanked the technician that caught it and we really appreciated his service. About a week later the unit just stopped. So I called and took the unit back. Well this is 60 miles one way. Russ took it in the back and then brought it back out a few minutes later saying that it was working when he turned it on. Whatever, I have no proof that it wasn't so I left. The unit still works sometime and stopes sometimes. Well today I called to get an appointment to get the unit Winterized. He said are you going to drop it off or wait on it. I said wait on it. (Should take no more than an hour to do) He said then it will be November the 22nd. LOL Really LOL I mean REALLY!!! He said if I drop it off I can get it in a lot faster. Again this is 60 miles one way. My thoughts are, if he can get it in faster by dropping it off, then way can't he get it in with an appointment. That is called Managing the department. I have made a huge mistake in working with that location and buyer beware of them. Everything was great until the service department. That is an important part! read more

Bought a Winegard Razor antenna from these guys to replace the Batwing on my RV. I was told by the people at Bill Plemmons RV. this was a great upgrade. Turns out this thing is TERRIBLE....When I called Plemmons I was told once it was installed it can not be returned(How do you know how bad it works till it is installed?) Plemmons says it is a factory return...Winegard says it is a Plemmons issue. (After all, the Plemmons bunch has my money.) I believe Caleb in parts thought he was telling me the truth about the upgrade. I think he is the only honest one I spoke with at Plemmons. They just don't seem to care that we are being screwed out of a few hundred dollars. They will never get me again. If you are considering a purchase from Plemmons RV for anything from a light bulb to a new RV you might be wise to exhaust all other vendors first. They have certainly not done the honorable thing in this situation. If this is the way they act with a few hundred dollars involved how will you be treated with several thousand involved? read more
