Unfortunately, it is no longer Bill Walsh and the new dealer does not honor the policies of the previous dealer when it comes to taking back new, unused and unopened parts - even when dealing with a long-term customer of the previous owner. Seriously bad look for them and Kia generally. read more

Frustrated car buyer. Bought a 2015 Kia Soul+ beginning of April 2016. Found out with proof (photos I took day of purchase), I was sold a car with a bent rim and a damaged tire. Rim was finally replaced after being told it was probably my fault. Went back later for oil change and to have brakes inspected due to noise (which I know I'd be responsible for) & to check supsension etc. They said everything was fine. (I was there 1hr to have rim replaced, oil change, car wash, and inspection, just seems like I should've been there longer). Anyways, I didn't feel everything was fine, so I took it to get a 2nd opinion and they lifted car to find out other rear rim is bent as wheel and I possibly have a bad wheel bearing (which is what noise probably was). Their opinion, they think rear end of car was damaged. I had previously emailed Bill Walsh service manager Dave 3x's and no response, I then decided to contact KIA directly, they now recommend after hearing everything I get car diagnosed from a KIA dealer (which I will be going elsewhere than from where I got vehicle) & to then call them back with case #. Ive always appreciated Bill Walsh's involvement in the community and felt they are one the the better and more honest Dealers. I have purchased 3 cars from Bill Walsh first two were good experiences however my last experience was poor. I purchased a used KIA Sportage in 2014, I delayed my review to have a complete review of this used car. I have had no problems with car outside of following. The deal included a WE OWE you addition that included a new timing belt (completed) and fix rear hatch release that was sticking. The hatch release was never repaired. When I contacted the Salesman he put me in contact with the service Manager who said they have done all they can do and I would have to pay for all parts and service for this rear hatch repair myself. I tried to contact Bill Walsh who doesn't except direct phone calls but only emails. Having my complaint reduced to a email I informed Salesman this would be my last transaction with Bill Walsh. We have since purchased 2 cars at AutoMax with great experiences, and look forward to purchasing my next used KIA or Ford there. I don't believe Bill Walsh is a small town Dealer with higher principals than any other New/Used Dealer. read more

Very poor communication and do not seem to want to address problems with their service / dealership. I purchased 2014 Kia Soul new in spring of 2014 and overlooked some of the problems I had with dealership because there was nothing major until last July & August when starter began to fail intermittently. Car would not start, but then maybe 10 or 15 minutes later it would. It even failed once at my local mechanic. I talked to Bill Walsh service about it being fixed under warranty and was told I should call Kia Roadside Assistance if it failed so they could document and then they could fix it under warranty. Imagine our surprise when it failed 20 miles away and when my wife called Kia Roadside Assistance, she was told the car was never registered with them when we purchased it and they could do nothing for us. When I talked to Bill Walsh Kia service manager he said he could do nothing to help repair car or get it registered with Roadside Assistance. As I needed this car to work to travel to Iowa for a kidney transplant in September I got it fixed at my local mechanic (there have been no problems with it starting since then). When I called Kia to complain about Bill Walsh not fixing starter or ever registering car they said I had to take complaint to Bill Walsh service dept and have manager discuss with Kia representative. I took documentation to them 8/31/17 and have never heard back. So I figured I would write a letter to Bill Walsh Jr. and Bill Walsh Sr. detailing this problem and every other problem I had with car since purchase. This included: 1) when I purchased the car one of the benefits the salesman pushed was we could bring it in and have it washed for free every week, over the first 2 months we brought it in 6 times and the car wash there was broke 3 of them, when it wasn't broke it seemed like it was a great inconvenience to service dept to take it to be washed (basically a worthless service - this especially seems weird as they actually do have a good car wash at one of their dealerships but we were never offered to use that one), 2) when we purchased the car, they said the first oil change would be free, sounded good until I came back to pick it up and there was a puddle of oil under it, the service department took it and when they brought it back said it was just oil dripping off an oil shield under the engine, maybe that was true but it did not leave a good first impression and I didn't even get an apology for my additional wait time, 3) when we purchased the car we bought the Resist-All service where they (are supposed) to clean any spots in interior and make like new, they did a beautiful job the first year but the last 2 years were so bad it was almost like all they did was a poor job of vacuuming it. (I would not recommend this service to anyone - a complete waste of money as I can do a much better job vacuuming it and cleaning it myself!) There have been a few other problems - such as one time giving me a loaner car that was filthy, full of cigarette butts and so low on gas I couldn't make it home without buying some even though I only live 3 miles away! I am sure there would probably be many other problems to list but because I was so unhappy with the times I did go that I get all my oil changes and service work done elsewhere. So anyway, I write these letters to Bill Walsh Jr. and Sr. and mail them in mid-November and I still haven't heard anything back from anybody. Haven't heard from Kia general manager in 6 months, haven't heard from Bill Walsh Jr. in 3 months, haven't heard from anyone in the organization. We had are kia in for service on Dec 6 2017 for a oil change and tire rotation and to replace a battery in the key only 1 was needed we had already replaced it ourselves.But since it didn't work to unlock we thought kia would get it to work. When we pick up the car we had to replace front bakes and turn down rotors. Which they had told us about and we agreed to do that. When we pick up the car I asked if they replaced the battery in remote and was told yes.Did they check it to make sure and said they did.so my husband went to the car and tried to unlock it and it wouldn't in fact it wasn't even locked. So my husband came back in and said it didn't work so the mechanic who worked on didn't check it. Which we were told he did. We were told to find out what was wrong it would be 65$$ to put it on the machine. We decided that since mine worked we would deal with it later as I needed to get to work.When I got off work my remote no longer worked either. With some medical issues and the holiday we couldn't be without the Kia. I will be calling this week to make an appointment to get this problem solved as I work the 4-12 shift and having the remote start working it helps me from defrosting my car and helps me save on my back witch I will be having surgery on in the near future . I just bought my second Kia Sedona from Bill Walsh. The first one was very reliable and I always had a good working relationship with the service department. I had purchased an extended warranty and the service folks handled all the paperwork and communications with the extended warranty company. When it came time for a new one I had no reservations about going back to Bill Walsh. We sealed the deal with only minor issues and drove our new Sedona home. To digress, the difference between the 2012 Sedona and the 2017 Sedona is shocking as far as the electronics go. The new one is very advanced. read more

We started out looking for a new Kia online at a Schaumburg Kia dealership- we requested their "E price" and we given the run around response of "we'll give you the best price once you get here" - after telling them we weren't going to make the drive to Schaumburg unless they told us the "E price" up front- they gave us a suspiciously low price- after checking their reviews we found this Schaumburg dealership notorious for scams and shady deals - We then decided to stop at Bill Walsh in Ottawa- we were greeted by Robert Flerlage, told him what we were looking for and what our budget was - Robert is a no nonsense honest salesman- he gave us a couple of options and helped us find a new Kia that fit our needs. We left the dealership in our new Kia feeling like we received a fair deal without having to play games- I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for a vehicle and plan on going back there when we're ready to buy again - Thank You read more

This is written strictly in regards to the Kia service department. Their online appointment system is a joke! The first time I tried to book an early evening appointment, I used the online appointment scheduler and selected a 4:30 time. I received a call at noon the day of the appointment to inform me that "the last weeknight appointment is 3:30 pm," even though the appointment scheduler allows you to make appointments through 4:45. I was frustrated but eventually thought I should give them another try. Yesterday, I scheduled an appointment to receive a software update recommended by Kia in regards to an engine detection system. I was sure to describe the notice I received in the comments box. I showed up for the 10:30 appointment (they open at 8:00), only for the service dept. to tell me that they "don't do those on the weekends." I asked why no one called me prior to the appointment time after reading my in-depth comment box explaining the notice I received for this recommended service; his response was that "comments don't show up on their end" which seems very unlikely. He offered no apology. It seems nearly impossible for people who work a 9 to 5 to get anything serviced on their car there. Don't waste your time! read more

Just purchased a new Kia Sportage SX AWD from Terry Rodgers at the Ottawa dealership. Everything from the email response to my quote request, to the delivery of the vehicle was up front, thorough, and professional. My wife and I couldn't believe how well the whole process went. Not one glitch. We were allowed to take a long test drive that included interstate, secondary roads, and a bit of stop n' go. Price and trade-in negotiation was not confrontational and we never felt a bit of pressure. It was the most fun we have ever had purchasing a car.
