Small rock found in country potatoes.

Found a rock in my country potatoes. I have been a long time customer of Bills cafe & they have delicious breakfast. This morning I went and got pancakes and country potatoes. My usual, finished my pancakes and took the potatoes to go for my wife. She is just now eating them and found a literal rock in her food.. it is just the weirdest thing. I first told her it was maybe just the seasoning but then she brought me a little tiny rock. I'm unsure how this could have happened. The potatoes were well seasoned and the food is really good but due to this experience I can't find myself eating there again. I'm really disappointed and concerned on how this could have happened. I wish I could add a video hopefully the photos are enough.

    steak and eggs, mimosa flight

This is hands down my favorite brunch spot in the Bay Area. I've been to all of their locations, but when I'm in Pleasanton, this is my go to for brunch/lunch. The customer service is amazing all around, from the hosts to the servers to the bartenders. Everyone is always friendly, welcoming, and on point. The food is ALWAYS A1. My favorite is the steak and eggs, and their freshly squeezed orange juice makes their mimosas even better. I usually stick with the original mimosa, it's just perfect. I tried the flight (shown in my pic), but I always order the original. I also love their eggs Benedict, pancakes, chicken and waffles, and omelets. Honestly, I haven't had anything on the menu that I didn't like. 10/10 recommend, great for dates, family, solo dining, etc!

Food is normally good, but today we did not have a good experience. Burnt bacon. See picture. A family member came here a few weeks ago and the server added $50 extra tip that was not approved. He noticed it a few weeks later after checking his credit card statement. He had to come back and dispute it and Bill's Cafe response was " oh, people normally don't check their credit card statement". Really?? Make sure you ask for a receipt and check the tip amount. Not coming back here anytime soon.

Second time here. This time with a larger group of family. We waited around 20 mins on a busy Black Friday. I had the California omelette, subbing jalapenos for the tomatoes. One daughter had the chorizo scramble with lemon blueberry pancakes. Others had omelettes and scrambles. Pancake sides were yummy too. Everything was delicious. Even though they were busy, service was consistent throughout.

Finally tried Bill's Cafe for Sunday breakfast! Wow, this is a great spot. First off let me start off by saying the service here is amazing. The moment we sat down we had someone asking if we wanted coffee and drinks and they delivered our food very quickly for a busy morning. The inside is large and lined with tables and booths, perfect for larger parties. We noticed many friends and families were there celebrating birthdays. Our group ordered the egg white Denver omelette with hashbrowns, chilaquiles with country potatoes, the huevos rancheros and a stack of chocolate chip pancakes. We were stuffed! Large portions and everything was cooked perfectly. The standout of the meal was definitely the pancakes, they were so fluffy. Our mimosas and Bloody Mary were mixed just right. Also if you celebrate your birthday there they sing to you and give you a shot? LOVE IT.

S/Fresh Salsa (needed it because of the bland scramble)

We came here on a weekend day and they said it would be a 15-minute wait but it turned out to be more like 5 minutes for 2 people. The food can be pretty good depending on what you get. But I was surprised by the veggie scramble had very little flavor to it. So much so I had to order a side of salsa to add some flavor. I also ordered it with crispy hash browns but the hash browns were not crispy. The pancakes were pretty good though - we ordered the cinnamon roll and lemon ricotta pancakes and both were pretty good. My partner said his cowboy skillet dish with chorizo was fine, but it wasn't his favorite. This place gets really busy and they could improve their logistics a bit. I called to try and get on the waitlist on the way there only to be told I had to be there to check in. But it turns out you can get on the waitlist on Google. However, the line time estimates are not the most accurate either. So that could be a hit or miss.

The place was bustling for a Monday morning, but we were seated right away despite the crowd. We ordered the California Omelette, Salmon Benedict, and Chicken & Waffles -- all very tasty! Definitely looking forward to trying more from their breakfast menu. The restaurant was impressively clean even with how busy it was. The bathrooms were well-stocked, and the floors weren't greasy or slippery like you sometimes find in high-traffic spots. The staff moved quickly, stayed friendly, and kept things running smoothly. Overall, a great breakfast experience -- delicious food, clean environment, and wonderful service!

I came on a Friday around 9:30 am and was able to be seated rather quickly. Our waiter was attentive. Definitely a cozy feel. There was plenty of parking but I can see it being difficult to park if it's crowded. I ordered the crab cake Benedict and it was perfect. I loved that the crab cakes were still crunchy and the eggs were made perfect.

    Lumberjack skillet

Came in on a Saturday morning before 11am. There was a line but we were seated immediately since there was only 2 of us. We tried the special Lumberjack skillet with a side of lemon blueberry pancake (instead of toast for $2.75 upcharge). The skillet has all the possible meat in there chorizo, steak, bacon, jalapeno, onion, 2 eggs, country potato. I have to say the pancake was sensational. The skillet was also good but not the lemon blueberry pancake level. They are expensive but nowadays, going out anywhere is expensive.

We are back now that there is Google waitlist available. It is miserable waiting under the heat and sun if there is no waitlist. I also found that there are less people waiting outside the restaurant this time around. Service and food were good. We didn't feel rush from the waiter even when there are people waiting outside. Yay to Bill's! No egg surcharge. I still see this surcharge from some other restaurants.

    Petaluma scramble

Came in on a rainy Saturday morning and were happy to be back at Bill's. We had the usual with corned beef hash and a chocolate chip pancake, the huevos ranchero, and the Petaluma scramble with hash browns and a pancake (instead of toast). I forgot that the pancakes at Bill' are really good! Service continues to stand out here.

    Classic Belgian Waffle
    Nichelle B.

I came to Bill's Cafe for my birthday. The wait time was under five minutes, the servers were kind and courteous. It was busy for a Monday morning. I had the Belgian waffle with powdered sugar on top and a side of bacon consisting of three pieces, that were delicious. The bacon was crispy just how I like. Bill's Cafe is a popular spot in Pleasanton, especially for breakfast.

Do they serve gluten-free pancakes or gluten-free waffles?

Did they get rid of the yelp waitlist?

Yes we replaced it with toast waitlist app. It can be found on Google. Thanks

    Are you doing sunday brunch?

Yes always from 7 - 3 on Sundays

Drove by last Monday and the place was closed...even though Yelp posted that it was going to be open. Looked like it was getting renovated. Are you open for breakfast and lunch now?

    Do they take reservations?

No. First come first serve. You can call and put your name in, but they won't seat you until your whole party is there.

Do you have gluten free options?

We have naturally gluten free options but do not offer gluten free bread, pancakes, waffles etc.

Does this place do bottomless mimosas?

No, but they have all types of mimosas in a huge glass for like 8.00.

How long is the typical wait around 9am on Sundays?

Depends on the size of your party but the average wait is about 30 minutes. I have been there and have been seated within 5 min for a party of two and sometimes have had to wait 20 minutes. They won't seat you until your entire party is there, but… Read more

The lox croissandwich was good, however, I asked for tomato because I needed an added flavor profile and the saltiness of the lox made me want more hydration in the bite. I usually don't like capers but today they were fine. Croissant was toasted nicely. Service: excellent. A pretty woman greeted us quickly and because it was such a beautiful day, she was coming out to bring our meals and drinks back and forth. She brought us our drinks. My drink was supposed to be with almond milk but I suspected it may have been regular milk. Although I disclose that I rarely order black sesame; it was very very sweet so I ended up not taking a chance and drinking it. My husband and daughter had vanilla lattes and lemonade with their breakfast bacon sandwich and salad. My daughter wanted to go there again today. (Posting a day later). The ambiance was very nice. I had never been to this downtown area. We were across the street from a really cute historic gas station. Great seating for people watching and enjoying the warming heat of summer on the patio. Really lovely experience at Bocado.

We stopped by around noon on a Saturday and were thrilled to be seated immediately--which is a massive win for a weekend! Despite getting a table right away, the place had a great energy and was filled with people enjoying their brunch. They have plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating to choose from. The food and drinks completely delivered: * The Chocolate Bonus: My son ordered this, and it was a showstopper. A chocolate crêpe packed with strawberries, bananas, and Nutella, then topped with chocolate syrup and powdered sugar. This was hands-down one of the best crêpes we have ever tasted--absolutely heavenly! * Chorizo Omelette: My wife and I shared this, and it was divine. It was served perfectly warm, cheesy, and loaded with spicy pork chorizo, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, and pepper jack cheese. * Mushroom Galette: Our second shared item was a savory buckwheat crêpe filled with mozzarella, sautéed mushrooms, and red onions, all topped with a gorgeous sunny-side-up egg. Another really good, flavorful dish. * Ham & Eggs: Ordered by my daughter, this came with a side of home potatoes and garlic toast. It was a solid, decent option that rounded out the table well. The Drinks & Service We ordered a Vanilla Latte and a Caramel Latte. Both arrived extra hot and featured some beautiful art on the foam. The vanilla latte in particular was exceptional--honestly one of the best we've ever had. To top off a wonderful meal, our waitress, Jocelyn, was incredibly nice and attentive throughout our visit. I definitely recommend Le Palais Sucré if you're looking for a fantastic spot for a family brunch or lunch. We will absolutely be back!

Great selection for menu offerings. Sharing the tri-tip steak and eggs with my daughter. And an ube latte, ube matcha iced coffee and mango matcha. When it comes to the Bay Area's ube drinks, I'm always let down and I surprise myself when I do order it. Like tell me I'm lying when Starbucks' ube was a massive fail for me as a Filipino. Post- meal: steak was medium rare and juicy. My younger daughter was in heaven with her tri-tip and A1. Country potatoes were well seasoned. My daughter had club sandwich which she ate voraciously. She's not typically a sandwich person so this was a good sign! Our specialty drinks. Now, with the ube. The ube foam had the tiniest hint of ube flavor but it was more of a purple foam and didn't satisfy my craving. My younger daughter had the ube matcha and although she liked the ube foam, she kept asking me to ask for more because her drink only tasted like matcha. It was more of the same for my daughter who thought there wasn't enough mango in the mango matcha. If we don't finish our drinks, we usually take it home to go but we decided to leave ours. It's not enough to have a good presentation of specialty coffee drinks but the taste leaves one wanting. I want them to do good. There are better foams and syrups out there. Check out the syrup that Porto's uses for their ube matcha. There's great small batch syrups as well. Our waiter was lovely. You get the sense that this is possibly his family's business. If not, he definitely had pride in this restaurant and his work which leads me to believe that I would give this place a try again to eat their food and see if they've improved their coffee menu.
