Came here again and Chris the bartender outside is attentive and awesome and easy to get along with and Dick inside made me one of the best mudslides I have ever had. Used to love Bill's. We will be unlikely to return after today's experience. Their seating is 1st come. There were 4 empty dirty tables. We asked twice for one to be cleaned off, but were ignored. We tried again asking for assistance, but the server simply walked away. Finally tables started to be cleared and people who came in after us were seated! I've been to Bill's 25 or more times over the last few years and it is usually reliable for great fresh seafood. Not tonight! While our waiter was great, the seafood platter was a huge disappointment. The fish, the clam bellies, shrimp and scallops lacked any flavor. The fish and seafood all had the taste of having been frozen and cooked before any of it was fully defrosted and the whole mess was barely edible. Even the fries, had that limp, previously frozen taste. With so many other great places for seafood in the area, I don't think I'll be returning to Bill's anytime soon! read more

Very good fried seafood done well. Scallop and whole belly clam roll were very good . 6 scallops and 6 whole clams . The fries were likewise very good. The Rhode Island clam chowder was full of clams and excellent . Indoor and outdoor seating. The coleslaw was of the non creamy variety which I like . I didn't understand the hype about Bill's.. I went for the first time this weekend. Plastic trays, plastic forks, and a pitcher of water is the silverware of the establishment. As for the service, the waitress had only visit for hellos, take our order and didn't come back to check on us or if we wanted more drinks. The food itself took along time to come out, it was lukewarm and they charge inappropriately. I ordered a lobster po boy for $26.95! This joint becomes "party central" along the shoreline during the summer months. That's not saying a lot, given the relaxed demure nature of the towns to begin with (aw heck, we like it that way). Like others have said, you don't go here for the food. You go here to listen to loud live music (on weekends), shout to your friends sitting directly next to you, and be jammed shoulder-to-shoulder like sardines in the main building. If you can overlook those things and not expect the best meal of your life then you'll like this place. I've always had a good time whenever I've been here. We ate dinner here yesterday, our first time this season. We usually stop here at least once a year when we're in the area. The location is somewhat unique as the restaurant sits on an inlet right near a bridge. The place is always packed with people when we have come here, but I think it's more about the location than the food. The food is nothing to write home about, it's just okay in my opinion. We sat outside on the deck, despite the sign near the door warning patrons about the noseeum bugs outside. This restaurant is far more appealing to us sitting outside than inside. The bugs this particular visit weren't all that bad. We started with a beer and wine, and I ordered a cup of NE Clam Chowder as an appetizer. The chowder tasted like it came right out of a can of Snow's Clam Chowder . For my entree I had a fried clam roll with fries and cole slaw (the fries were extremely over cooked). My wife had a fried oyster platter that she thought was just okay. We most likely won't be back again until next year, when we have forgotten how underwhelming this visit was. By the way, they don't accept credit cards here, so plan on bringing cash, or use the ATM on site for a fee. read more

Over crowded in the summer and ok-ish food. Biggest downer is they're cash only. Yes, there's an ATM on premises, but I prefer to pay with credit. As a local, I try to stay away during the summer. When it calms down in September, Bill's makes a nice spot for drinks and getting rowdy. Generally, I think it's a little overhyped. I'd rather head next door to Edd's Place. BYOB, a lot quieter, and they take cards. Update: We've been back several times and have better meals each time. Service is prompt and friendly, nightlife is fun, and the menu has lots of options. We've never been told they're out of something, which happens when we visit the other local seafood places. We also love the ice cream next door. Most disappointing trip to Bills ever. I went twice last year and it was awesome but was seriously terrible today. We went and got the fried seafood platter... So glad we decided to split it and not one each... They use cornmeal batter which Everything didnt even taste fully cooked... Completely different from last year when we had the same platter which at the time was fantastic. There was absolutely no taste on anything... I mean literally no taste... The onion rings weren't even cooked through... Only thing that was good was the Pepsi and the seafood bisque I do recommend. They wouldn't let us in because 1 person didn't have shoes. So we walked over to their ice cream shop. They sold shirts, beach toys, chotski item And ice cream But no flip flops. Can someone please tell me how you cut broccoli stems on a paper plate too small for the meal with a plastic knife? I had beer-battered halibut. The fish was good but it was not beer-battered. Had an early dinner here last night with friends. The atmosphere is always one of the reasons I like to eat here. I was a bit disappointed with the Steamers as they were rather large and somewhat chewy. We had issues with swarms of little flea like bugs. They were making our dining experience rather bothersome. The establishment needs to provide more airflow to keep them away from their clientele especially if they know it is an ongoing low tide problem. It was our first time there and they had a problem with my boyfriend and I hugging up on each other to keep warm outside on a windy day and the manager came and complained with the nastiest attitude and we were 100% compliant then decided to speak to the owner about how we were treated and how it wasn't a problem other than the way we were spoken to and he was 10 times worse and wouldn't even let me speak Kept cutting me off and ignored every word.
