Be prepared for a long wait if you're here for brunch. The first time we tried was on a weekend, and the estimated wait time was "an hour and a half to an hour and 45 minutes." We didn't stay. Later we tried on a weekday and the wait was only half an hour. The food is very good, and they have some unique offerings, like the French pancakes--which really do taste like French toast! Their specialty seems to be the 14" pancake. It's fun, because it's huge, although a little unnecessary for it to be that big, especially if you're ordering it as an add-on to a meal. Ambience is friendly and casual. All in all, it's worth it if you go on a weekday when the wait isn't as long. read more

This place was popppping. We had an hour wait, but after us there was a 2 hour wait for breakfast. We got the billion dollar bacon for an appetizer and I don't think it was worth 8$. It was 4 pieces of thin bacon with syrup on top of it. For my meal, I got the sloppy biscuit ( I think was the name) the biscuit was good with the gravy & eggs sunny side up. The hash browns were nice and crispy. I also added the grits, they were good yet Smokey. Husband got the Billy's belly buster (name is scary lol) it came with 2 HUMONGOUS pancakes. We visited for Spring Break and my family loved our breakfast the most. The kids challenged my husband with the Belly Buster and it was a massive amount of food that he was not able to finish. Billy Gail's is the ultimate Americana breakfast place. You can get pancakes bigger than a small child. I am not a huge sweet breakfast person, but my husband is and he was very happy with his giant chocolate chip pancakes. There was enough to share. You could probably feed a family of five with one order of pancakes. I got the biscuits and gravy with hashbrowns. It was delicious. Our server was very sweet and attentive. She kept our mugs filled with hot coffee. The food was out to us quickly. The restaurant is huge and the walls are covered with quirky decorations. It is kind of like a Cracker Barrel, but the decorations are more modern looking. This place was very fun and the food is delicious. Come hungry. Wow, what an amazing find in Branson! This place is known for their homemade special batter 14 inch pancake. All biscuits are made from scratch here as well. If you are vegan, you will need to modify salads, but they are portioned big enough you will leave filling full. You can add avocado, house made pickled green tomatoes, and you can add extra toppings as you desired. The servers have great recommendations for their favorites. The food was good, fresh, and there is enough variety for anyone. They have a cute general store in the front and the environment is absolutely enjoyable and decorated towards ozark themed. read more

Hey Yelpers! We have visited this location twice in the last three days. That should say something. First off, you are going to have to wait. I don't know if there is ever a time when they aren't busy. The service is great. The servers are down-home friendly and attentive. Also, even though there is a wait for a table, the food comes out relatively quickly. As for the food, the portions are HUGE! That is one thing this place is known for. Most of the meals could be shared by two people. The chicken fried steak takes up almost the entire plate. It tasted good, but the outer portions were more well done than the interior. As large as it was, it would be difficult to get an even cook on it. Their billion dollar bacon is delicious and worth the hype. The sloppy chicken and biscuits was amazing and, again, large enough for two people. The giant pancake is something to behold. At 14 inches across, I've never seen anything like it. Disappointed because our hotel doesn't do breakfast anymore so we decided to go out and get some breakfast instead and this place was so homey and perfect. Many old folk here but anyone should go if they want a tasty meal, there's a little something for everyone! Food was super yummy, we got the 14" pancake and the sloppy biscuits and gravy and one entree with the chicken biscuits. The pancake definitely lived up to its hype, perfectly sweet and so filling. Hub's wanted fried chicken and would take 20 minutes to prepare so he selected a Turkey, Bacon and Cheese Melt sandwich. I had fruit cup which was ridiculously priced for a small fruit cup, not bowl. We came here on our last day for breakfast. It wasn't too far from downtown Branson. Parking can get limited as it's a very popular place. We had to park in the lot that is further down from the first big lot. It was across the street. Once we got inside we had to wait. We decided to wait it out since there was nowhere else we wanted to go for breakfast. We ordered the popular items and the portion sizes were massive. We did have leftovers to take home. After hearing and reading all of the hoopla about the Billy Gail's restaurant at the Branson Mill here in Branson, I hesitantly caved and went there with my wife for breakfast today. We ate at the Republic location almost 2 years ago and our experience was sub par there, with our entire party underwhelmed by the service, food, and all around experience. My experience this morning at Billy Gail's at Branson Mill was even worse, which astounds even me. When we entered the restaurant , it was hot and muggy, which I was hoping was just because we were near the door and it was hot outside. My hopes were dashed because we were seated at a tiny booth which was directly under some sort of fan which was blowing hot, humid air down directly onto our table. I could barely breathe. I had to get up and find somewhere that I could comfortably breathe. We were seated in the opposite end of the restaurant, where I quickly realized that if that establishment HAD air conditioning, it clearly wasn't working. We looked at the menu and prepared to order. I ordered Gail's Ranch Breakfast and my wife had their Monte Cristo. Both of our breakfasts arrived at our table just minutes after we ordered them, which seemed quite odd to me because the place was packed with a line out the door. Our server brought my wife's Coke and my "coffee" to the table. I stirred some cream and sweetener into it and took a drink. The "coffee" was room temperature and was the absolute worst excuse for coffee that I've ever tasted. I informed the server of my displeasure with the coffee when she came to the table with our meals. Her reply was immediate, blunt , and as cold as the coffee. She curtly replied , "That's the first time I've heard that in the four years I've been working here", which I assumed she meant the company because that particular restaurant hasn't been open for nearly that long. My reply to her was thatI my coffeewas cold and it tasted bad. Her solution was to offer me some coffee from a fresh pot. She HAD to be kidding me. I actually had to look up at her face to see if she WAS kidding me. She was dead serious. I politely declined , telling her that I doubted a fresh pot of the same coffee would change that flavor. It honestly tasted like dirt with year-old used coffee grounds were used in the coffeemaker. I am not exaggerating. The coffee was THAT bad. The server took my coffee cup and walked away. Now to the food. When I took my first bite of my hash browns, I immediately realized why our breakfasts arrived at our table so quickly: they must've been already prepared and sitting under heat lamps waiting for someone to order them, because my meal was room temperature cold - COLD hash browns, COLD eggs, COLD bacon, and I use that term loosely because whatever sort of meat that was, it was cut to resemble bacon, and was so heavily seasoned with barbecue and smoky flavoring that the "meat" wasn't visible, and it was colder than the eggs and hash browns. Part of it hadn't even thawed completely, giving me the impression that it came from a package of frozen processed smoky bacon flavored "meat". I pushed my plate to the edge of the table so the server would see that I was done. My wife had ordered a side of fried okra because she knows how much I enjoy it. I took one bite of the fried okra and was done with that as well. It was beyond disgusting. The okra was dreadfully undercooked and slimier than a slug on a rainy day. How the breading was crispy and the okra was so cold and slimy, I actually have no idea, but that one bite almost gagged me. The server took the okra off of our bill. She left the nasty coffee and my frigid breakfast on the bill. I said nothing . I just wanted to get out of that hothouse that served cold, nasty food and cold, terrible coffee. My wife couldn't finish her breakfast either. We both got sick to our stomachs when we got home. After that experience, we won't be going out to eat again unless the eatery is guaranteed farm to table fresh with NO bioengineered foods, no preservatives, no processed foods, no antibiotics, and always cooked to order. THAT was $52+ wasted. read more
