We arrived during the busy Brunch rush, and we had to wait a short while - but they never stopped hustling to clear vacated tables, and very soon - we were seated. At a clean table. Started with Billion Dollar Bacon, and even though I dripped syrup all over my clean shirt, I can tell you that the bacon is awesome. But then they tried to kill us. With huge portions of excellent food. My wife ordered the smallest pancake, and it was at least 12-13" in diameter! Easily the largest pancake I've ever seen; it hung off the plate on all sides. And IT WAS GOOD! Her eggs were exactly as ordered. My Country Fried Steak Breakfast featured a chicken-fried side of beef (almost), 2 Eggs over easy, a giant mound of Hash Browns, and toast. I was able to eat less than half of the steak - EVERY BITE WAS GOOD! Our dogs will eat the leftovers for days. Prices are very fair. Service is stupendous. The food is GREAT. Our large party went to eat breakfast on the morning of August 3rd. They were busy which is usual on a Saturday morning. We were all seated and the waitress came to take our order. She was NOT friendly (no one was) and was hard to understand because english was not her first language...That wasn't the problem, the problem I had was that out of 13 of us 6 people had hair in their food!!! Short black hair! How is it that 6 people at the same table ended up with hair in their food?! We all ordered something different too! The table next to us had hair in their food as well... so someone that was manning the kitchen was either shedding profusely or purposefully putting hair in the food. We all just got up and left after we ate what we could. It wasn't even worth saying anything because the waitress was rude and couldn't have communicated with us properly anyway. The reviews made me think this would be the best breakfast. Well, it was good, but not the best ever. The million dollar bacon, was just ok. The famous grits were just instant, nothing special. The other items were good, but again, not his super special. The service we had happened to not be so great. She disappeared, maybe busy, then she swapped my check with someone's, could have just been a bad day. The prices were a bit high for what it was. Billion dollar bacon was ok we didn't taste the brown sugar only the maple syrup so not sure if corners might have been cut. The mushroom swiss burger was good and the fried okra was crispy and hot. Came to Billy Gail's for breakfast after a referral from a friend and we will definitely be returning when we are in the area again. Gregorio -our server- was friendly and professional. He did not rush us throughout our time there. The place has a welcoming atmosphere and the food is plentiful. My husband had the ayce catfish which was good but fries were kind of thin and overfried, I had the patty melt which was alright but not flavorful or salty enough? Not sure what it was lacking. Stopped by here on our way to an activity. Told the wait for 4 people was 45 min. We only waited about 20 min before being seating. Quickly greeted by our waitress who took our drink and food order. Interesting place, lots of decorations to look at while you wait for your food. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I got the 4 piece chicken, white meat, plate. It was an enormous amount of chicken, but I couldn't pass up getting 4 instead of 2 pieces because the price made more sense that way. I only ate the wings because that made my full, so have two breasts as leftovers. I thought they were good, not great. The coating really needs some seasoning because it seems bland. Mashed potatoes were good. I actually thought the green beans were the best of the three. Presentation was very sloppy. You can see green beans only partially full and kind of scattered around the plate. The gravy had run down he little cup so I couldn't pick it up and the plate was much too small for the food. My wife thought the catfish needed some seasoning as well. The online rings were very good, not very greasy. This place is an awesome find! All six of us had delicious meals at lunch time. I had to order the billion dollar bacon. And let me just say, that bacon was worth every last cent! The toddler had very good chicken tenders (I know because they looked and smelled so good when I was cutting them up for him so they would cool off quicker that I couldn't resist sneaking a taste...). The teen had a mini order of chocolate chip pancake; it was the biggest pancake I've ever seen, and it must have been extremely good because she ate the whole thing! Our tween had grilled chicken with fries. She said it was good. My wife and our au pair both had hamburgers. They loved them! The wife had sweet potato fries with hers which she was really happy she ordered. Lastly, I ordered the Tri-Tip sandwich that is served with au jus. It was over-the-top excellent with melted cheese and grilled onions as well as a horseradish sauce that was really great. In my opinion this place is a must visit when in Branson. They were soggy and sitting in grease. Everything was served at room temperature.
