We were in the area and decided Billy Goat Grub was our choice for lunch. I ordered a Strawberry Lemonade Mimosa to start. Great hidden gem. Food was fresh, creative and delicious! My husband thought he'd try the collard greens as a side and ended up ordering more!!! Great location on Main Street, maybe could just use some instagrammable curb appeal to draw attention. This place will be a regular go to. So good. This is my second time in a week and the first time was my first visit. Google (and yelp) helped us find it! The first visit we came in as a group of 8 (4kids,4adults) at 7 on Thursday. They stayed open about 30 min late to accommodate our chaos. Today I'm flying solo and got the same order. The bgg burger with cheddar. This time I added fried onions. So yummy! Food Taste: The food was below average. Pot roast mac & cheese had very little pot roast and was too salty. Chicken tenders were dry and tough. Grilled chicken on the sandwich was dry and tough. The sides of Mac and cheese did not taste good at all. Food Freshness: The food did not taste like it was made fresh. It tasted reheated from frozen. Service: The only bright spot was the good service. Will I Return: No and I won't recommend this place to friends or family. What a great addition to Main Street Norman. The goat griot was perfectly seasoned and prepared. Lunch portion is perfectly sized. My friend had the buffalo wrap which was large and very good. The Philly eggs rolls were very tasty along with the garlic aioli. The pork ribeye was bursting with delicious flavor.. The fries were good and once we received a fresh Mac and cheese I enjoyed it. We went on a Saturday evening around 7 and it was empty. I don't understand why this place isn't packed. The staff were friendly and the waitress was very helpful in recommendations. Tried the new Brunch menu today. Started with Zook's Periwinkle Drinkle. Now that was a tasty mimosa!! Ordered the huevos rancheros and Hubby ordered the eggs over cheesy Grits. There was definitely a gourmet touch in everything we ate and drank because the flavors were so deliciously unique. You'd never know that because there wasn't a crumb left on either of our plates. The service was excellent. The vibrant decor was impressive with the walls showcasing works by local artists. There were high chairs along the wall and I can see where families would have fun here. We will definitely return because we wanted to order other entrees, too. Need to try them all! read more

We came on opening weekend. The food was delicious - just the right amount of spice and kick. The service was excellent - we were checked on multiple times. The atmosphere was lively - loved the big bar and all the TVs showing the draft, hockey, and basketball playoffs! My kids loved the chicken fingers and my husband and I devoured the lobster Mac and cheese and the chicken and sausage gumbo. Start with the truffle fries! start out the waiter was amazing. it went down hill we we asked if we could add mushrooms to a sandwich and the waiter asked the kitchen. The cooks yelled very loudly and angrily NO where the whole restaurant could hear. Cook then came out of of kitchen and glares at our table like we had kicked his dog. Got the food and it was not good. Mac and cheese had so much salt it was almost not edible. Fish was over cooked. The gumbo was not gumbo. they asked spice level and I asked for a medium. i could tell it all came from same pot and they just added seasoning on top. it was obvious the rue was burnt when making it. Will never go back to eat there and cannot recommend it. only reason it gets 2 stars is the waiter/bartender was amazing and the drinks were great. read more

The food here is absolutely amazing - the mac&cheese is wonderfully rich (but balanced with herbs instead of being purely heavy) and it's a great counterbalance to the salmon filet. Speaking of the salmon, it's perfectly cooked & seared. The iced tea is also top notch, fresh brewed instead of tasting like it's been sitting around for ages. Darcy's service was consistently great, very attentive and helpful! The food came out super fast and Darcy made sure to check in that I was doing alright. The ambiance is honestly some of the best - good music, comfortable seating that doesn't feel crowded. I genuinely have nothing that I could complain about. I'll absolutely be back! Food was dry, and shrimp was overcooked but edible. I guess that's their "version" of jambalaya. Service was substandard, and there's clearly a training/knowledge disconnect with the bar/wait staff and "management". Staff pre-authorized my card for $100 for some reason instead of running it for the total amount of $25 & change, and now I have $100 just sitting in the ether that I can't put towards bills or food, etc., until 1-14-2026 because this establishment and its' ownership/staff don't know proper cash handling procedures. I've spent 2 hours+ going back and forth with Billy Goat's owner and my bank only to find out that my money won't be released for seven days back to my account. To boot, the owner John told me several times that this had happened before, so you are basically admitting to being inept. I was excited to try the brick and mortar location, but that was the first and last visit from me, and I certainly won't be promoting the concept to anybody I know. Also, don't use Square for a restaurant POS. Voiding my pre auth only made your life easier BGG, not your guest's, and now I have to wait a week to access MY money because you clearly don't know how to take care of your clientele. FIRST and LAST visit!!! Update: Turns out that the owner did not comp my meal and still cuarged me full price. Sham of a company. BBB is my next stop. read more
