Catfish and corn on the cob with baked beans.
Carrie A.

Ok, Billy Rays BBQ and Catfish is a Tulsa classic. Sometimes you have to visit the OG's too. Today was the day. As usual, it was delish. The service was first rate. It helps that I went with a regular and the server knew her order from memory. Picture a BBQ joint and that's the vibe. Darkish with lots of signage. Hang a few saddles and cowboys hats on the wall to drive the mood home!

Start with fresh clean tasting catfish. No earthy or chemical flavors from food the farm raised fish was fed. No amount of batter or seasoning can make that go away. You have to start with good fish or stay out of the business. Encrust that fresh catfish filet in the perfect thickness of cornmeal battering, then fry it like you were competing on the final episode of Hell's Kitchen with that asshole chef "Gordan Ramsey" looking over your shoulder. Keep it simple. The finished product, a fried filet that has a crust thick enough to support the whole filet when held by one end, a crunch that lasts through the chew and a moist, tender, fresh tasting catfish filet reward inside. That's Billy Ray's Catfish. I'm hooked! The sides are just fillers. Bring me a platter of Fish! Excellent friendly service in a rustic structure in Red Fork, Oklahoma on the Mother Road!

Excelente service! I would make now this place my cat fish restaurant and I will have to come back to try their bbq I'm sure is really good. Everything look clean place looks vintage very original. The ambiance was great, felt like on the west, actually it is on the west. We will definitely be back.

Billy Ray's was able to provide service during quarantine via drive-through. As usual, the food is delicious.

Seat yourself. Great bbq and catfish. The tabouli is really really good. I suggest if you like couscous with a little pickle flavor, it's really good to pair with BBQ or the catfish. Speaking of catfish the catfish fillets are cut into strips you can get an all-you-can-eat option for $13 or you can get the big order for 12.99. The catfish was so good that I decided to actually buy their seasoning which cost me about $7 but it's worth it. the barbecue ribs looks like everyone in the restaurant enjoyed them. On my to try list when I come back. I'll try his actual BBQ it's one of the crowed favorites a hole-in-the-wall place. it's been around for years that the locals know about but a lot of out-of-towners are not aware of.

They definitely have their own twist on things. The sweet potatoes were good but a little heavy on the nutmeg. They tasted like a mix of apple and pumpkin pie. The mac and cheese was really creamy. I really liked the horseradish coleslaw. I'm not a big fan of collard greens but I still tried them and actually thought they were pretty good. For our mains, two of us had the brisket and one had ribs. Both were super good. There were 4 different sauces. I recommend trying them all. I wanted to try the sausage but they were sold out. I guess you need to get there earlier than an hour before they closed. We finished with a couple desserts. The banana pudding was probably the best I've had. Their seasonal cobbler was blueberry and very tasty! I was hoping for peach. Maybe next time. Yes there will definitely be a next time. It was a lot of food so we had plenty left over that ate for lunch the next day. The atmosphere is super friendly and really clean. Like most barbecue places I've been to there is no table service. You order and pay at the counter. Then depending on how busy they are they will bring your food to your table or have you pick up at the counter. For me the cherry on top is their pay it forward meal. For $15 you can buy a meal for someone in need. They hand you a receipt that you pin to a board. Then when someone needs a meal they can go in and grab one off the board. They offer them their lunch special. While I was there I saw a very grateful individual come in and get a meal. The staff were super nice and treated them just like any other customer. Great food! Great service! Great value! Do yourself a favor and try this place!

We ordered the tri tip dip sandwich which was the highlight of the meal. It was delicious. We also ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and that was full of flavor. The focaccia was on the dryer side and the chicken didn't fill out the bun so it was just kind of off texture wise and lacking fullness but the favor was 10/10. The chips and red onion dip were a nice little touch. Something I've never had before and we enjoyed it

Fellow friends, you better get on it before people taste this bit of heaven or they will start running out of bbq to share. We got the chubby cheeks taco, a beef rib and heritage pork rib. Everything was just love. I can't explain it well enough but when you try, you'll know what I'm taking about. My absolute favorite was the Beef rib. The beef rib was melt in the mouth, succulent and perfectly seasoned. My bbq soul is complete. Their bbq sauce they have is fantastic and their other sauces are killer too! The service was fantastic. They were extremely nice and helpful. It's a food truck so I'm sure they move around but this time they were located behind American Solera. I can confidently say they are the bbq masters of Tulsa. I can't believe Tulsa would have such amazing BBQ but these folks do it right. Overall, it's the best BBQ I've ever put in my mouth! They know exactly what they are doing with their meats. I'll be back in the future.

It's hard to fathom that the meat could be that smoky, juicy and flavorful. The sliced brisket is better than anything you will find in town without a doubt in my mind. I can honestly say that you would be doing yourself a disservice by skipping this place next time you're out for bbq or tacos.

Stop, stop, STOP. Whatever else you're thinking about going to eat, just forget about it…read more You've found the place you're looking for. This place is the best bbq in Oklahoma, and I know that's a bold statement for something out of a trailer, and yet it's true. These guys just took over ownership a couple weeks ago so I expect it to get even better with time. TULSA IS WINNING. I absolutely stalk good bbq places and so I usually don't put too much stock in them meeting me expectations. But when you see Nick pull that brisket out of that brown waxed paper and watch the jiggle as he slices through that amazing bark, you'll realize you've hit the jackpot. We grabbed the food for 2 and it was an incredible sampler of all of their meats. And the sides... GET THE BACON CHEESE GRITS. Holy moly rolly poly that little styrofoam cup should come with a warning label because it's absolutely ridiculous. The chicken was so juicy, I was almost more impressed by it honestly. But brisket of this tier is just such a rare find... the other two with me easily admitted it was the best they've had in their entire life. Ribs too. We also didn't expect to be able to find an open patio on a Saturday, but the outdoor space provided created such a laid back experience with the outdoor tables I felt like I could kick back, eat some Q and let all the stresses of the world melt away. Go. Just go. Go now. The lines on this place are going to be a mess soon, I'm sure. So get there now before everyone and their dog starts standing in line until they sell out like a certain unnamed Ft Worth place I know.

Stutts BBQ in Tulsa hits you with that rare, disarming warmth where the food is great, sure, but…read morethe real hook is the feeling that you just wandered into someone's family kitchen and they decided to feed you until you stop talking. The chopped brisket carries that perfect Tulsa flavor. It's not trying to be Austin, it's not chasing trends, it's just deeply smoked, tender, and unapologetically saucy in a way that makes you rethink why you ever bothered with sliced brisket at all. The ribs come out with that gentle tug, not the fall apart nonsense, the kind of rib that tells you the pitmaster actually respects the craft. And the hot links bring the heat in that slow, creeping way that makes you nod to yourself like, yeah, this is the right kind of trouble. But the buttermilk pie is the closer. The secret handshake. The thing that makes you sit back in your chair and realize you're not in a restaurant, you're in a home that just happens to have a smoker out back. It's creamy, tangy, sweet, and somehow nostalgic even if you've never had it before. It's the dish that makes you text someone immediately. Stutts isn't polished. It isn't corporate. It's lived in. It's warm. It's the kind of place where the food tastes like someone actually cares about you. And that's the whole point.
