    Beef Lo Mein with Beef
    Udochi M.

Worst food i've had in Boston hands down! Really should have looked at the yelp reviews and pictures before I came here. The menu has typos and the service is subpar. We ordered the thai fried rice with shrimp, beef lo mein, and the salt and pepper wings. Everything was absolutely bland and had no flavor whatsoever. It's also hurting my stomach as i'm writing this review. Very dissatisfied , but portions were large. So if you choose to come here, come with a group.

Delivery. Ribs were good. Sushi was meh. Ordered a late dinner for delivery from Billy Tse. Nothing unremarkable and it arrived on time, packed nicely. Plenty of the usual sides including a big tub of duck sauce and a smaller of hot mustard. An appetizer of barbeque short ribs was excellent. Already off the bone and cooked in a sweet sauce, they were not drowning in sauce. Delicious. Three different sushi rolls were packed into a second container. Not too bad but unremarkable. A little loosely assembled but good. A-OK. I'd recommend sticking to the cooked foods for next time though.

Boston Maki on left (two eaten) and Unagi (eel) maki on right.

Stopped in here completely at random. Was walking around waiting for something I arrived way too early for and jumped in here to grab a bite. First off, I would like to say that I think they have an interesting setup, the sushi bar, main dining area, and bar area is kept separate from each other. As for the food, I ordered The Boston Maki and the Unagi (eel) hand roll. I was brought Boston and Unagi maki, when I mentioned to them that I had asked for an Unagi hand roll, they were apologetic and fixed the issue quickly. The Boston and Unagi maki were solid. There was a nice combination of ingredients, and the fish was of high quality. However, I was not wowed at then. They were quite good, but nothing to write home about. Perhaps a little better than the stuff you get at the supermarket (rice seems better also) I would also like to say that while using lettuce in Maki is an interesting idea, I would have liked it to be a little more prominent. I will give them credit for not skimping in the eel in the hand roll. However, I will say that I would have liked a little more greens to balance out the fish, and a bit more sauce to tie everything together. The prices were also quite high. While I get these kinds of places are generally not cheap, especially when they are in the city, I would like more than really solid food for these prices. Service was good!

    Beef and Broccoli

Ordered Beef and Broccoli at for delivery on phone. Cost was $21, no rice included. It was listed as $14 on menu posted to Yelp, I am used to paying $11 for this meal and other Chinese restaurants. The delivery was prompt and the order taker was professional. The beef used was a very fatty cut. The meal was a whole was bland. They did include a container of hot mustard and a packet of soy sauce, but I still had to reach for more spices at home to doctor it up.

Billy Tse's was so accommodating! We had a reservation for 21 that was cancelled last minute at another restaurant and the staff at Billy's was so amazing. The food and drinks were excellent and the staff made it so much fun. Will be coming back for sure. Love it here!!!!!

We ordered 4 small plates and only enjoyed 2 of them. We got the cucumber salad, blue crab rangoon, sticky ribs, and pork/shrimp gyoza. The cucumber salad looked kind of old in my opinion, like it had been sitting in the sauce for a while, and was overly salty. The pork/shrimp gyoza were somehow flavorless, and the sauce was watery. The crab rangoon were delicious though and the ribs were as well. My espresso martini (their Cocolee drink) was also a little bland and I wouldn't order it again. Overall enjoyed less than half my meal. The workers were all very kind. And the vibes are really nice, we sat outdoors and I love the patio. If they can improve on some of the dishes, this could be a go-to spot!

Staff was very knowledgeable about each entree, and provided information about how entrees were cooked and served. They also had a "halvsies" menu of half-size portions (ideal portions for one or two diners). Started with the Mama Chang Pork Dumplings, which were excellent, and the cauliflower appetizer (a little spicy, but very good). Liked the udon noodles with chicken and bok choy, although a little less red chili pepper would have suited my tastes better (good for those who like a bit of zing to their food). The lettuce wrap chicken was well worth the 20-minute wait. Finished with the lemon ginger mousse, which was very light. The fortune cookie on the mousse was fresh and crisp, so good that some thought it might have been baked at Joanne Chang's Flour Cafe and Bakery. The finish was extra nice, with a red lucky envelope with chocolates accompanying the check, an orange at each table (signs for good fortune in the New Year), and red decorations hanging in the restaurant to create a festive setting. Good choice for the start of the New Lunar Year of the Fire Horse!

XO Seafood Udon: The restaurant specifically labeled it "wok-tossed," and it truly had a wonderful wok-hei鑊氣 (wok aroma), with an irresistible fragrance as soon as it arrived at the table. The XO sauce was extremely rich, sweet and umami, and the udon noodles were soft on the outside and bouncy on the inside; the sauce was glossy, smooth, but not greasy, allowing it to coat the noodles evenly and infuse them with flavor. The shrimp, squid, and scallops were all fresh and large, making for a very satisfying meal. The shrimp, in particular, were coated with a thin layer of starch before being pan-fried, adding layers of texture and locking in the juices. This plate removed the scallions and onions to suit my taste, and if you like spicy food, adding a little chili oil would greatly enhance the flavor. The restaurant had an elegant and refined ambiance, and the service was attentive, making it a very relaxing place.

When I made the reservation online I put that the occasion it was for was my birthday- I notice that most restaurants don't pay attention to this on OpenTable, but Fuji definitely did! We were seated quickly and with no issue at all, despite it being pretty crowded. The vibe was intimate and classy- a great spot for date night, or for dinner with your parents. At our table was a card (in the pictures) which was such a nice touch and was a great start to the meal. Our waitress was awesome, and it seemed like there was a floor manager too that was making sure everyone was happy. It felt like the staff truly cared and wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time and experience. Our waitress checked in on us multiple times, and was very helpful with the menu. Speaking of the menu, I was very pleased to see the amount of vegetarian dishes! You don't see that often at Japanese restaurants! For our appetizers we got the lobster Rangoon and spicy edamame. Technically the tofu is an app but you would never guess that from the portion size. The edamame were outstanding! They were spicy as expected and were so tasty. We demolished the whole bowl. The Rangoons were also amazing- the chunks of lobster were divine. I myself love lobster and crab Rangoons, so a combo?! Amazing. Both the edamame and lobster Rangoons are can't misses. For our entrees/ mains we got the crispy soy noodles, miss Waldorf roll, sweet potato roll, tofu, and fried rice. The miss Waldorf roll is amazing, and I can not wait to go back and get more sushi. Truly the best sushi I have had in boston. There are other upscale sushi restaurants I have been to that charge a pretty penny but taste like grocery store sushi. Fuji is not one of those- it was truly exceptional sushi. The sweet potato roll was also delicious! I am very picky about my sweet potato rolls and had one that I have dreamt about since I had it in 2022. I have finally found a sweet potato roll that matches my standards. The crispy soy noodles were also amazing! They reminded e of one of my favorite restaurants when I was a kid and it filled me with such joy to eat something with that flavor. The serving size was pretty big too, and they were not shy on the shrimp! Note though, they were a tad oily (I added a little bit of soy sauce to balance it out). The fried rice was also very good and tasted like a good bowl of comfort fried rice. My parents ate it with the tofu and liked it! The only dish I would want some change in is the tofu- it wasn't bad but compared to the other dishes it definitely lacked the flavor punch you get in the rest of the dishes. The sauce was okay with it. After dinner our waitress brought a slice of vanilla crepe cake and ice cream! This was such a nice touch and it was SO good!!!!! It was the first time I ever had crepe cake but I loved it! I'm not sure if they have a dessert menu or not (we weren't asked if we wanted to see one) but I would love to go back and get that cake again! Overall I am beyond happy that I picked this spot for my birthday- I had an amazing experience and amazing food. Will definitely be back!

Lots of nooks and crannies, including an L-shaped bar, before you get to the main dining room. VERY lengthy menu comprising at least four Asian cuisines. My wife and I tried 10 dishes over two visits. -- Scallion Pancake: My wife chose this. Not exactly blazing new ground, but light, crispy, more scallion flavor than most, and ginger dipping sauce darker, thicker, clingier, and tastier than most. Above average. -- Cold Noodles with Sesame Sauce: Gotta mix this all up to get all the flavors distributed. Thin noodles, softer than most, and mildly spicy sauce saucier than most-- meaning it somewhat overpowered the noodles textually. Taste wise, no problem. Average. -- Singapore Chow Mei Fun Noodles with Tofu: This is my wife's dish and her domain. She's pretty particular about how she wants her noodles, and she was pleased that this rendition was neither too wet nor too sweet. Thumbs up from her. I tried a small bite and agreed. Above average. -- Biang Biang Noodles with Spicy Cumin Lamb: My favorite dish of the day and a pleasure both taste wise and texture wise. Long, thick noodles that felt homemade, not too sticky, not impossible to break, and nice wiggle. Not particularly spicy in the hot pepper way, but very spicy in the flavor way, with the cumin, as well as complementary vegetables. I've had this dish in a bunch of places and I gotta say this was the freshest I've ever had the lamb. Just enough liquid to make it work while letting the noodles and lamb shine. Well above average. Some heat would bring it over the top. -- Fish Filets in Sichuan Hot Chili Broth: Standard dish, solid execution with no surprises. Very tender fish, perhaps a little fuller if cut than most and a bit less spicy than most. Average, but not a bad average-- this dish is usually good and so was this rendition. -- Honey Spareribs: The second visit started with a dud here, as the ribs looked and felt very old. Honey glaze with odd cinnamony notes couldn't hide the dryness. I sent them back and they took them off the bill. -- Cucumber and Fungus in Vinegar Sauce: A cool, refreshing dish with the cukes well marinated but still crisp to the bite. -- Mini Pork Buns: Small (grape-sized) balls of pork surrounded by bao dough, steamed and lightly fried, served with a sweetened soy sauce. Not bad, not remarkable. --Sautéed String Beans: Thin, moist, cooked through but still retaining snap, slightly blackened in a good way, and accented with salty fermented bits. Very nicely done, though not spicy as billed. -- Ma Po Tofu without Meat: Soft, silky tofu and a smooth, mildly spicy sauce without any bits and pieces to add interest. Good flavor but a little one-note. Good service. You don't often get full service, never mind good service, at a hand pulled noodle joint, so this was a pleasant surprise. The interpretations of classic dishes were different enough that I can see some naysayers, but I mostly liked mostly everything, with the first visit very strong and the second a bit of a drop off. Very good value, as the volume of servings was higher than most and the pricing was lower than most. HUGE menu. Some might say too huge, too ambitious, and I agree. But as long as the execution is there in a few key dishes-- like the biang biang noodles I'll mostly stick to--I'm happy. My wife likes it, so there'll be more visits.
