Worst food i've had in Boston hands down! Really should have looked at the yelp reviews and pictures before I came here. The menu has typos and the service is subpar. We ordered the thai fried rice with shrimp, beef lo mein, and the salt and pepper wings. Everything was absolutely bland and had no flavor whatsoever. We ordered the pu-pu platter take out. It was not amazing and overpriced. This restaurant is in a high rent neighborhood. The chicken wings were large and meaty. Reportedly good. The crab Rangoon's were crisp fresh and hot. The bbq pork pieces were plentiful however over cooked. The egg rolls which are my favorite part of this menu item were soggy due to being packed w the rest of the items. We have had at other places and they are put into small wax paper bags and it seems to be a less soggy experience from the steam heat of the other pu pu platter items packed in the carton. . Egg rolls had many pieces of cabbage that were cut too long and come out of the roll on biting, making a mess. A bit flavorless. Too much dough on the small pieces of chicken finger for me. Peking ravioli were small not the size expected. The fortune cookies were the bland ones w same fortunes in each cookie. Not worth the calories. Billy Tse'se has been around a while. Great foods and exceptional service is a recipe for success. Erin our waitress was tremendous beyond words! Definitely ask for her on your next visit and you will not regret it. The food was delicious and fairly priced. We got a scorpion bowl and pu pu platter for two as starters that didn't disappoint. For the main we got the pork fried rice and lobster sauce. These Polynesian dishes are nostalgic to me since I grew up eating these Americanized Chinese food only found in the east coast. Portion were so huge that we had enough leftovers for another meal. Why billy, why did you change the recipe for your lo mein? That stuff was so addictive, i used to order it once a week, it was like crack. It was devine; so many noodles packed so tight into the little white box that it was like a brick. But then you tweaked the recipe around October 2023 and you broke my heart. I ordered it again later thinking maybe that one time was a mistake, but the new recipe remained... As time goes on I have adapted to the new lo mein recipe and continue to enjoy it. But it just cannot fill the lo mein shaped hole in my heart left by the previous recipe. Other than the lo mein, i continue to love the peking ravioli with that one sauce that isn't soy sauce that it comes with. and i recently tried the crazy maki which was also delicious. Plenty of the usual sides including a big tub of duck sauce and a smaller of hot mustard. An appetizer of barbeque short ribs was excellent. Already off the bone and cooked in a sweet sauce, they were not drowning in sauce. Delicious. Three different sushi rolls were packed into a second container. Not too bad but unremarkable. I come here every couple of years. It was a favorite of a departed loved one. I find it barely adequate. In the car coming home, the food was rated as a 2.7 on the five scale. The waitress was alright... barely. The best thing about the place was the group of older Italian ladies kvetching about how everything has fallen apart since Covid. Great Chinese food located right in the North End. Overall a bit pricy, but you do get large entrees and everything is always cooked and sauced to perfection. My go to spot in the city and can compete with other Chinese restaurants in Chinatown! Stopped in here completely at random. Was walking around waiting for something I arrived way too early for and jumped in here to grab a bite. First off, I would like to say that I think they have an interesting setup, the sushi bar, main dining area, and bar area is kept separate from each other. As for the food, I ordered The Boston Maki and the Unagi (eel) hand roll. I was brought Boston and Unagi maki, when I mentioned to them that I had asked for an Unagi hand roll, they were apologetic and fixed the issue quickly. The Boston and Unagi maki were solid. There was a nice combination of ingredients, and the fish was of high quality. However, I was not wowed at then. They were quite good, but nothing to write home about. Perhaps a little better than the stuff you get at the supermarket (rice seems better also) I would also like to say that while using lettuce in Maki is an interesting idea, I would have liked it to be a little more prominent. I will give them credit for not skimping in the eel in the hand roll. However, I will say that I would have liked a little more greens to balance out the fish, and a bit more sauce to tie everything together. The prices were also quite high. While I get these kinds of places are generally not cheap, especially when they are in the city, I would like more than really solid food for these prices. Service was good! read more

Wow this Billy Tse really went down the gutter. We went tonight (11/4/22), and the food was very bland and lacking taste. The place was empty. I asked if the waitress mind if she split the chicken and broccoli in half in a Togo box so my mother could take some home. She said "I do mind" and promptly walked away and gave us one Togo. We love Billy Tse in Revere. I am an inpatient at MGH so we have been ordering a lot of takeout food. We decided to give The Boston restaurant a try while we were here. We got a small order because I'm in the hospital. We also wanted to get things that would taste OK the next day. We ordered chicken fingers, boneless spareribs, and pork fried rice. All three were excellent, same quality as revere. The only difference however it was the pricing. The price is a much higher in Boston then they are in the Revere restaurant. But I suppose it's understandable with the rents etc. they have to pay in downtown. The food was made very quickly and when it arrived it was still hot. The only glitch was we ordered paper plates and utensils so we could eat the food easily. Unfortunately they forgot to include it in the order so we ate out of the boxes. If you are in Boston and you're looking for a Chinese restaurant and are not near Chinatown try Billys. it's excellent and it's definitely worth going to. read more

Slightly disappointed in the quality of food we received - pretty mediocre, overpriced, rice not included

Feeling a bit drained from being inside, I decided to bike down to Christopher Columbus park to check the harbor side and catch a breeze. I sat on the lawn, with other people enjoying the weekend as well. I got the salmon skin, the rocky maiki (eel,tobiko,cucumber,avocado), and shrimp tempura maki. For a takeout restaurant standard, it was definitely 4 stars. All of the rolls packed a punch and super tasty with sauce drizzling down. My cravings were satisfied and it was quick service. Rice is not included in the meal. The Chinese broccoli and protein in the meal were very oily. My tofu was soaked and the chicken was a bit too salty. Vegetable rolls were not appetizing. I felt the staff was rude and just wanted to move us along (it was not busy at all, we came here when helping a friend move over a weekend at around 4:30/5 on a Saturday). Also concerned that it was extremely hot and there was no AC inside where the sushi was being stored. A bit concerning... the kitchen also did not seem to be as clean as it could be (from what we saw looking into the kitchen) as we were waiting for our food. I just love Billy Tse. Such a nice break from the Italian restaurants and I've never had a bad meal here. I ended up at the bar one chilly, rainy summer afternoon and decided to give a new menu item a whirl. I ordered the Moso Ramen Noodle Soup. It came piping hot, chock full of fresh veggies and garnished with some soft tofu at my request. Totally hit the spot. I also treated myself to a margarita which was delicious and big :) I do wish they'd do their meal prep (i.e. Filling crab rangoons) out of site of customers for sanitation purposes but understand space must be limited. read more

much prefer the revere location ! crab Rangoon was very okay - almost no 'crab' whatsoever. there's usually not much in there wherever you go and I still noticed that lol. kung pao chicken had exactly two peppers in there, not super spicy and lacked in flavor. also, while there was a language barrier and with no interest to throw anyone under the bus, our server gave us a real hard time trying to emphasize an allergy that a member of our party had - having had many jobs "in the industry" this has got to be part of training 101. Billy's is a neighborhood staple. The sushi is great, the food is always fresh, and the service is superb. They have had a recent update saki menu, in which will satisfy anyones palate. I have never seen a more active owner and bar-staff go out of their way to make customers feel welcome, and deliver a great product time and time again. read more
