The server, Rachel was stretched a bit thin, the other server must have gone to break during the rush. She greeted me with a smile and told me about the specials. it seemed really good sounding. I had my heart set on the corned beef hash! They got the hash to me in about 10 minutes. The corned beef was deli sliced style. Not from a roast, you would get when making it from scratch. It did taste good with the country gravy and egg. Overall it was made well and had a good flavor to it. The server was very busy and pleasing to have. Do not eat here unless you want our town to end up like Seattle. This business openly encourages the homeless to camp out in front and allows them to harass customers. It is a cash only business, so they know you have cash and corner you near the door with the pretense of opening it. As a woman, I felt unsafe even walking in. My family's first time here. Tried to go to the TrainWreck across the street but it was 21+. I am so glad we went here instead. I had the country fried steak, the wife had the farmer's skillet. One daughter had the cinnamon roll pancakes and the other two did biscuits and gravy. Everything was cooked fast and perfect. My hash browns must have been waiting for me to come in way ahead of time because they were perfectly crispy and tender at the same time. The country fried steak was huge and didn't disappoint. Husband and i decided to try breakfast/brunch here after reading good reviews. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The lady waiting on us was very nice and made sure coffee cups were filled, so no complaints about the staff. I ordered the pancakes with the full house and my husband ordered "the Billy". The bacon was good, but the eggs and pancakes were mediocre at best. The biscuits and gravy were very, very salty, and lacked pretty much any other flavor. The sausage had a weird taste. My favorite place for breakfast. We drive an hour to get here about once a week. They have the kindest staff and I have never been disappointed in their food. Next is the coffee it was not good the brewed coffee was so dark that three half and half's wouldn't even lighten it up! And the espresso Lando got was sugar and water well it tasted like it anyway! We were on our way back to Marysville and looking for a good place for breakfast that had chicken fried steak. I see a lot of reviews that say a place has great CFS and gravy but they obviously have no clue as to what home made is versus right off the Sisco truck or powdered gravy. This was the first breakfast place we tried in the area and it did not disappoint! He got the chicken fried steak and I got an omelette. They had a lot of toast options which is always a plus in my book. Even their regular coffee was the best I've had! We were both very pleasantly surprised. Only disappointment was styrofoam for their to go containers. With the availability of recyclable or compostable options, that was a surprising disappointment. Hopefully they'll decide to change that in the near future. The food was super tasty, filling, and worth the price. The staff was friendly and quick too. Mixed bag on this place. Our first visit we had really good blueberry pancakes and crispy bacon. Both were really good. They seemed a bit understaffed at the time but I did note several more waitstaff arrived while we ate our meal. My next visit I put them to the test. One of my favorite things for breakfast is biscuits and gravy. Another is chicken fried steak. On this occasion I ordered the latter but asked for a biscuit instead of toast AND a small side of gravy. Sadly the CF steak wasn't anything special :-( More disappointing was the biscuit and gravy. The gravy was thick and "gloppy". It was almost as if they didn't cook the flour long enough in the roux. And it was really bland, without much flavor. The biscuit was equally disappointing. It wasn't light and flaky the way I prefer mine. Rather it was heavy, "cakey" and crumbly. Some may like that style of biscuit but not me. So, what we have is a 4 Star rating for our first visit and a 2 Star rating for my second, rounding out to a 3 Star rating. I'm sure some will thoroughly disagree with me, as this place is very popular locally. But I've had much better biscuits and gravy and way better chicken fried steak. And that is generally the measure I use to judge good from bad. That said, they did a great job on the BB pancakes and bacon. The prices are ok running about $8-$12 per person before coffee and tip. I probably will return on occasion but only if I'm already coming to town for some other reason. I wouldn't travel that far out of my way when there are several other restaurants closer that are more to my liking. read more

Huge portions, excellent taste, and the best possible service! If you are looking for a good hearty breakfast or lunch served all day then this is the spot! Hands down the best cafe in Washington State. If you want amazing food you really need to try Billy's. I personally recommend the CFS Burrito (Chicken Fried Steak Burrito). Holy cow is that thing awesome. Their Benedicts and pancakes are amazing as well. I haven't been lucky enough to try some of their lunch menus yet but you will literally drool when you see them being delivered to other tables.
