I've only ever had the rolled ice cream and americano here, so those are the only product-related commentaries I can provide. That said, the rolled ice cream is fabulous! My favorite flavors are banana, cinnamon toast crunch, and green tea. There are a variety of toppings you can put into your ice cream as well. It is also pretty fun to watch them make it! The americano is smooth and simple--I love it black. This cafe and dessert bar also sells soft-serve ice cream, shaved ice, and hot/iced coffee and teas. The atmosphere is very nice, and the interior is aesthetically pleasing (and always clean). A very modern look all around. They have wi-fi, free water, and the service is very good! The only downside is the location. It is located in a difficult parking lot next to a FedEx, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gym, and a few restaurants. But hey, that's also just Kearny Mesa in general. We stopped in here after having a bite to eat at a restaurant in this plaza. It was still early on a Friday night, so there was no line. I tried the soft serve, which was absolutely delicious. Been on a tea kick lately and trying a bunch of new tea places. While grabbing some dinner at Flama Llama, we stopped by Bing Haus for a drink. Easily accessible through a hallway in the next lot from Flama Llama. Walking in there was only one customer ahead of us, but after we ordered, several other customers came in, so we missed the mini rush. They have ice cream items which is nice like soft serve and mini melt (nitrogen ice cream) and they serve rolled ice cream on the weekends (Fri-Sun) so I'm sure it's a bit busier then. I decided on something other than my usual norm of Thai tea or an Oreo milk tea and decided to try the Brown sugar black tea. They only have one size but you can order it hot or over ice. The drink is maybe 12 oz. So a bit more expensive for how much you get. The drink was not bad. Has a good strong black tea flavor. Brown sugar has a distinctive taste and it was a bit overwhelming. I've had it before, and remember last time their ice cream tasted 'creamier' and not as icy I guess, but it was still very good and would order it again. The service was great and friendly, portion was massive, and the ambiance is chill. We watched them make rolled ice cream. We got a Patbingsoo (topping: blueberry, strawberry, banana, mochi, red bean, and condensed milk. inside: fruity pebbles. side: vanilla soft serve) and Hokkaido milk tea with tapioca. The Patbingsoo was so massive, 4 people could not finish it. I personally prefer the shaved ice incorporated with condensed milk. Here, shaved ice is simply shaved ice. The Hokkaido milk tea had a different taste to what I'm used to. It seemed to have a hint of cinnamon. The tapioca was warm and chewy. As for parking, good luck. When it's full, it's really full. We circled around 3 times before being able to find parking. The parking lot feels challenging to navigate, too though there are nearby similar plaza parking lots. read more

Came to Bing Haus a few weeks ago after dinner and I had to try the Watermelon Bingsoo. I have very little experience when it comes to Korean desserts but this was amazing. The presentation alone is worth the $15, but the best part is on the inside. After you eat a few watermelon balls you'll get to the shaved ice, condensed milk, and mochi part which was my favorite. I recommend sharing this with someone, but they also will pack the leftovers for you. Ambiance wise this place was very nice inside and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Would I come again? We swung by Bing Haus for dessert recently. The shop was busy and all the seats were full. We tried to move two tables together for our party but found that they were bolted down or something, and immobile. For a place that feels designed for group hangouts, with board games and lots of seating, that is a bit counterproductive. The restaurant is decorated really cutely, with fun neon signage and a wall with some cute clothes and stationary for sale. Unfortunately, the shaved ice we ordered fell short of our expectations. We got the watermelon bingsu. It came in a hollowed out half mini watermelon, which was cute. The shaved ice itself was pretty fluffy and made of (probably) milk and not water, but I don't think the toppings worked well with it. The watermelon wasn't that sweet which was fine, that's out of their control, but the problem was the excessive amount of fruity pebbles, which overpowered the watermelon completely. They weren't only sprinkled on top, but were also found at the bottom of our dessert. There were just way too many, we couldn't really avoid them. Also, the Mochi was pretty flavorless and tough, and tasted like the pre-packaged rainbow Mochi from Hmart. All in all, with the plethora of dessert options in convoy, I don't think I would go out of my way to come back to bing haus. I did see a lot of people getting the rolled ice cream, which looked quite nice, but definitely if I'm craving shaved ice, I'd look somewhere else. read more

Stopped by Bing Haus after a disappointing dim sum trip to satisfy our sweet tooth. I've been a few times, but it was my boyfriend's first visit. I deviated from my go-to green tea and got the black sesame rolled ice cream instead. I loved the combo of honey and sesame, and it wasn't too sweet. The pics look like many other shaved ice places, but the texture and flavors here are the best in San Diego. The line shows the truth in that. So expect to wait a bit if you come around dinnertime. We ordered the thai tea rolled ice cream w/ grass jelly and a black sesame rolled ice cream w/ mochi and whipped cream. Both flavors were delicious! The thai tea got a tiny bit too sweet for me near the end but the black sesame was pretty balanced throughout. I usually order the matcha flavor but wanted to give the other flavors a try! Still the best rolled ice cream in the game. I love harder textured ice cream so Bing Haus is my number #1 place to go when wanting dessert. I'm always torn between the strawberry and matcha flavor and even though matcha is my favorite flavor and their matcha is incredible, I get the strawberry 90% of the time. That's how you know how flavorful their ice cream! I never give up matcha! The parking is limited however and I recommend you park on the side street. Service is always fast and you can watch them make your ice cream through the glass! I would say the ambiance is not date-night dessert but college student study spot. Not sure if the worker was in a bad mood or something of that sort but his customer service was bad, I don't expect giggles and overly friendly but a small smile is fine and makes a big difference, flicking the straw at the drink he just set down just made it worse..what did I do lmao.
