    Deviled eggs

The lighting is low and very private. The wait staff must go through extensive training. They all work together in sync. Top notch service!!! The artichokes were absolutely divine! Arrived at the table still on fire!! Deviled eggs we're great but $14 for 4, kinda crazy nothing super memorable. The steak noodle salad was HUGE and plenty to share. The steak was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Shrimp & Grits were a huge surprise. They were exceptional. Shrimp weren't overcooked at all, which is unique and nice. Grits were creamy, well seasoned and the sliced asparagus in the creamy gravy was almost too good to swallow. All together, seasoned perfectly!. Will 100% get again.

Very fancy dining spot that's great for birthdays or dates! Quick seating for our group of 6 on a Sunday night. The restaurant was very dark, tables being lighted by a single light atop and a candle. Not my favorite setup but I guess it's for the romance? The menu was pretty small, mostly seafood and the occasional burger. Higher prices than an Applebees but you're also paying for better quality food "fresh never frozen" I got the slow roasted chicken over smashed potatoes, it was humongous, like they plated me the whole bird! The sauce was delicious, as were the potatoes. My plate came to $30 Our server Johnny (?) was great! VERY informed on the menu, read us off a whole list of specials that aren't listed on their main menu. Gave us great recommendations, checked on us a lot, loved empty plates out of the way when needed, and was keeping our waters filled! Thank you Johnny!

Passing through Asheville, we chose 131 as our lunch destination and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is set in Biltmore Park. The inside is very dimly lit but each table was well lite overhead so you could read the menu and see your food. Each server we came in contact with were extremely professional and extremely helpful. But we're here for the food review!!! It was scrumptious!! We ordered the Thai Salad special and the Cheese Burger. Both were phenomenal. Side note I also had the tea which was some of the best I've had in a long time. No matter which 131 you go to you will see the quality in all aspects of your experience.

Went for the first time last night with no expectations and was very pleasantly surprised. Service was as good as any I have experienced in the Asheville area. Local trout was perfectly presented. Not a kale and quinoa guy so they cheerfully substituted a wedge salad -- probably the second best one I have ever had. Good wine selection. Only negative was that a substantial percentage of customers were dressed for Walmart. Guess I am old fashioned about social mores.

Belated review. First time there for my husband's birthday dinner in February. Can't say enough good - Service was outstanding. Smoked salmon appetizer, filet, grouper - all excellent. Was very pricey, so will likely only go back for special occasions.

Everything was done well, food, drinks and service. Can't think of anything that could've been done better. Planned to go to the restaurant next door but they were booked and not exactly welcoming or accommodating. 131 was recommended by the Hilton, so on a busy Saturday night we went, they were booked but offered for us to wait in the bar and put us on the wait list. 25 minutes later they called us. Waiting in the bar was nice with outside seating and fire pits. The 131 maniac is a very good drink Servers were very attentive and friendly. Appetizers were cornbread and Ahi tuna, both were excellent. Main course was trout for me and shrimp and grits for my wife. The trout was exceptional. A lot of words but the take away is: go here, they try hard to please and are successful.

Best cornbread ever! Fresh, hot, sweat and fluffy!

What a great place! Megg waited on us outside and we started dinner w a great Malbec and their special cornbread. I know if sounds funny but u hVe to try it! Comes w honey or ask for a little butter but it is the best! Took the rest home for breakfast ;) we then had the salmon with red mashed potatoes and also had the ribeye w red mashed potatoes. Both were fabulous. Ended w smiles and very full belly's. Really nice ambiance w a romantic air, very comfortable seating and room to talk in confidence! Loved it!

    Cast Iron Cornbread

What I Ordered: - danish baby back ribs - cast iron cornbread Scores (1 = poor, 10 = excellent): Food Quality: 8.5/10 Service: 9/10 Ambience: 7/10 Value: 7/10 Overall Experience: 7.5/10 Must Get(s): - cast iron cornbread (in photo) *ask for honey & butter on the side* Avoid: - deviled eggs *my friend got them and he felt ripped off compared to the other menu items for the same price; there are better options* Quick Take: Ribs: would recommend. The sauce is tangy and it's not drenched in it which is always good. It's a large portion of food, especially considering the two additional sides. The price is reasonable, not a steal and not highway robbery. *you can switch out the sides for the other available options* Cornbread: get it. That's it. Just buy and don't look back. Ambiance: This place reminded me of a J Alexander's clone if you've ever been. Nicer upscale vibes but not too upper crust to be intimidating by any means. Any sort of informal attire is fine.

    Cowboy salad very delicious

Very nice setting, a bit loud, but who am I to complain about everyone having a great time and meal. The cast iron skillet cornbread is amazing, has some jalapeño in it, with honey to drizzle on top. Grilled trout from the menu might be the best trout I've had anywhere.

We had a lovely talk about food and how wonderful the food was. The food is authentic and spice can be adjusted. It was my bf first time having Pho and he would definitely be ordering it again. He ordered chicken pho and the broth was clean and flavorful. Had plenty of noodles and chicken in it. Came with bean sprouts, cilantro and jalapeno. Siracha and Hoisin sauce on side. Next we had the pork shumai. Boy was this delicious. Came with 5pcs and a delicious plum sauce. I definitely will order this again. Last I ordered the Sesame chicken. I would easily say the star of the show. The breading on the chicken was light and crispy with a perfect thick glaze sauce. The side of jasmine rice made it a great hearty meal. All in all it was a great meal and if you haven't tried it please support this local business.

This place was a fusion of Asian foods so I'm usually a bit reluctant to order anything too crazy so we stuck with what we knew. Spring rolls were fresh and tasty. Haven't had it with bell peppers before but it was good with the sauces. Green curry had good flavor but a touch loose for how I usually like it. Ginger salad came really overdressed so we didn't eat too much of that but we really liked the cucumbers. Whatever that sauce it was tossed in was very pleasant. We also enjoyed the stir fried eggplant dish with shrimp. It had a nice sweet and tangy flavor. Lastly I ordered the pad see ew, noodles cooked really well and all the textures were there. I could taste the char from the wok but it did lack that "sweet soy" flavor I'm looking for in this dish. I would say overall we enjoyed most of the dishes and some just needed a bit more flavor but it was still a good experience.

None of us enjoyed the cole slaw offering and I found the hush puppies way to sweet for my liking. All fish and chicken was very good but the clam chowder was very watery and not at all very appealing to the eye. We would return another time and perhaps try something else on the menu..

First I want…read moreto thank the manager who did her best to make things right and also the server who was very nice and a sweet younger lady. I still tipped her. Now for the stuff that really needs to be fixed. I think it's may be the cook staff or maybe a little of who is ordering? I am not sure but the food was horrific! The crab dip which we didn't complain about and paid was more like all vegetables and just tiny bit of crab but not what you expect for crab. It is like they are just dropping filler in to cut cost but they are cutting quality and in this business is a good way to ruin a place for years. The oysters Rockefeller came out and I am not sure what they were but Rockefeller they were not! No cream, no cheese, just a few pieces of spinach maybe some over cooked bacon and oysters so dry and hard even the butter bath couldn't save them. The cook that sent this out should find a new job! Period! My friend got scallops and shrimp. The shrimp rubber and dry as well as a bit shrimpy smelling as if not very fresh. The scallops smelled off... BAD off like they may have been out of date or something. She ate one and at this point we are hoping our trip isn't cut short because she started feeling sick after one. We thought about waiting to write this review in case food poisoning would be part of the review. If we don't update it, assume she made it through the night. Now for the positive, the baked potato was edible and the clam chowder they brought me to replace my "oysters Rockefeller" was ok...not the best I have had but not the worst. We had seen some older reviews that were very positive but we forgot the golden rule about always looking at the recent reviews rather than the average of all reviews. Our close we both overlooked with seafood when red flags are concerned. They had tartar sauce on the table not refrigerated which it should be! That should have been the clue which would normally be a sign to not even order. Again props to the manager for making it right and the server was precious. All and all 2 stars just because they tried to make things right. We are not those people that complain for free food. Honestly we usually tip 25% and even if something isn't great we will not not go back but this cooking staff... I don't know. They have some major changes they need to make.
