He didn't make all the way through the donation but two hours after he took his bandages and started bleeding which shouldn't be happening. I went in filled out the paperwork, waited an hour, and was told that I was too old!! I am 73 and walk 5 miles a day, play tennis and am very active. My blood type is 0+ which is the umival donor, and my blood has always clotted very quickly. Yet, without any tests or analysis I'm too old??? Blood is blood, and plasma is plasma, especially since mine is so effective. A real shame, as I wanted to make a difference in someone's life. I won't go to donate again. This place is a hot mess! The amount of time you wait just to donate is an eternity! A lady just walked out bc she had been waiting for almost 2 hours just waiting for a bed to donate. This location seriously needs to either limit the amount of appointments they accept per day or have more staff in place. It is extremely inconvenient for donors to have to stand in line for hours to donate and they don't offer snacks or water while you wait but yet you're supposed to be "hydrated " . So if you're going to come to this location to donate eat on your way and bring a liter of water, back up phone battery, make sure all electronics are at 100%, and bring a snack bc you're going to be here a while! Also, time of the day does not matter it's always a long wait. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is bc the the nurses are actually super nice! read more

Poorly managed facility. Scroll for straw... camel's back. Collectively speaking, the majority of the staff is poorly trained and is learning on the job - while sticking you with an 18 gauge needle. for 10 months, I donated religiously, giving four of my hours every week. During roughly half of my visits, someone better trained had to run over and either adjust the needle in my arm, adjust the cuff on my arm, or adjust the pressure of the apheresis machine. Sometimes the needle was under my tendon, hitting the wall of my vein, or the pressure was so tight, that my arm was turning different shades of blue and purple. all of those experiences were uncomfortable, and I was reassured only by knowing that there was someone better trained on the floor who could come over when beckoned by another staff member, and had a free moment. What was the straw that broke the proverbial camel's back? On a Sunday I had an appointment at 2:45 PM. They close at 4:00. When I sat down to have my vitals, checked, to make sure that I could donate, I was told, "Just to let you know if you you're not in a chair with a needle in your arm by 3:30 you don't get to donate today." Huh? If you a store at 6:45 PM when they close at 7:00 and are in the dressing room at 7:00, no one's going to haul you out naked and punt you from the store. I could make metaphors all day. I HAD AN APPOINTMENT. It wasn't an arbitrary time of which I'd conceived. At 3:30 I'd moved from spot #22 to spot #3. The 3 of us, plus the TWO PEOPLE BEHIND ME WHI HAD APPOINTMENTS TOO were told unceremoniously to leave. This is an operations-manager problem. It's not my problem. Very poor customer service. Said I couldn't be seen bc I was 7 minutes late for our appointment. Last time I was there a woman was able to be seen without an appointment at all so I'm not sure why I was turned away for being less than 10 minutes late. Called about a half a dozen times the past week to schedule said appointment, too, since the online scheduling wasn't working yet they never answered once and I had to leave multiple voicemails. Had to come in person to make the appointment. Writing this from the lobby of CSL as I wait to do my new donor procedures one hour after being turned away today from BioLife. They do walk ins! Just save yourself some time and frustration and come to CSL directly, folks. read more

Yes the waits are long- but they're long because this is the best place in STL to donate. Everyone who works here is extremely nice and professional. They were very thorough and that made me feel safe. Everyone communicates effectively and makes your donation as seamless as possible. After going to a different location (that I will not name here) a ton of times before coming here (based on REVIEWS), I did not realize how pleasant donating could be. BioLife is the STANDARD and you will feel safe and informed here. As long as you expect your wait to be long (and sometimes it's not!) you will be happy with this center. read more

Ugh, I hate to leave a poor review, but perhaps this will help them work out the kinks. Pros - The folks were very friendly. Cons - Everything else. App is terrible. They want you to schedule through the app, except my profile isn't connected to their database. This means I can't schedule the type of appointment I need. No problem though, because I can just call the center to set an appointment, right? That's absolutely what the website and app say. I called eight times today. No one called me back. I called several times a couple days ago. Nothing. I left messages. Crickets. (Insert all the emojis expressing frustration.) read more

One good thing is that this facility is actually pretty clean compared to other biolife places I've been. The lines seemed to be flowing fairly fast. I went in for my first appointment, which includes a physical. Thankfully, I had no wait to be seen, which really surprised me. Before, when I've been a new client at other centers, I had to wait 3 + hours. Overall, it'd say this is the best place to make a little extra cash by donating plasma in the city. So if you are thinking of donating, go to this one. I almost forgot BEWARE all employees basically suck and are very bitchy. The way I was treated by them was downright terrible. read more

BioLife wasted a lot of my time and a half tank of gas driving to and from to bring them my whole life story so I could start donating plasma. Then the rude woman that kept sending me back home had the audacity to tell me I need to schedule another appointment several days later after I was there in time for my original appointment. She had a very snarky attitude and made the choice to not donate with them very easy. Choose CSL Plasma!! They are very pleasant and have a super easy process to donate!! read more

Carlos is extremely unprofessional. He should not be discussing a donor walking in with another donor with whom he is currently working. I would have waited for another person to be available to check me in, but the line was already long and slow due to low staff. He thinks he is so funny, making me "give him the finger" while he draws blood. I laughed it off, and he then proceeded to put all of my other fingers down leaving only my middle finger up. Beth, on the other hand, incredible. Sweet, kind, professional. I have never had an issue until I had to deal with Carlos. read more

I would give this place zero stars if I could. First of all The last time I donated there was something wrong with the machine and the idiot phlebotomist wouldn't listen to me when I kept telling her there was something wrong with the machine... I've been donating plasma longer than half these people have been out of school and I know when some thing is wrong with the machine. They couldn't return to whole units of blood and I was extremely ill for the next eight weeks. Next, they lie about the specials and coupons. They kept sending me coupons saying they wanted me as a returning donor and that the coupon was valid 2 to 5 months after your last donation, but when I showed up after almost 4 months they turned me away. They were blowing up my email box with these coupons that I wasn't actually able to use and I even wasted my time showing up at an appointment. Don't go here. They are understaffed and the management is garbage. And you just might get very sick because the phlebotomists. there have no idea what they are doing read more

There are good days and then there are long waits. But then there is this Beautiful individual named Danny, not only is she Caring, Professional. Absolute waste of time and I will be in pain for a while, I'm sure. It was my first time donating and I went through the entire process to be told by the "phlebotomist" that he "didn't read what they wrote on my card and put it in the wrong vein"... so he took it out and put it back in a couple of times, then tried my other arm, but said he couldn't get it to work. Some other lady came over to assure me I was in good hands and not to worry.....(If only he could read) . So, now I will have TWO very bruised and injured arms, 3 hours of my life gone, and zero compensation. So stupid. read more

Everyone was very thorough in explaining each step. I have donated twice and overall went really smooth. This first appt did take about 3 hours and the second about 2 hours. Going forward I would expect 1.5-2 hours depending on the wait. But I feel like I'm definitely compensated for my time and knowing I'm helping others with my plasma makes it work it!! read more

Re:  Biolife Plasma in O'Fallon MO/St. Peters MO -- Employees can be rude and if you're rude back, you're treated like a problem and may be permanently deferred.  Although new donors get $80 a donation for the first 30 days, after 30 days the pay drops down to $20 for the first donation of the week.  No one told me this nor is it posted anywhere in the building.  Is it no wonder with the pay being ridiculously low?   I don't think any other plasma center pays this low.  They never answer their phone, and the wait time to give plasma is very long.  Although you have to have an appt. to be screened, after you screen, you wait in a very long line (standing) with maybe 15 other people or more for your turn to go back and give plasma and you may stand in this line for 30 minutes or longer.  This is ridiculous and shows how little respect they have for donors.  They overbook people in screening, scheduling people 10 minutes apart and this is why you have to wait so long after screening to go back and give plasma, and when you finally go back and give plasma, you may wait 10 minutes or longer before you're stuck.  I like how when people make reviews on their website that the owner responds by telling people to contact BiolifeMarketingAnd Communications.US@ takeda.com because when my friend emailed this place, her email came back to her.  This is obviously bogus and a PR scheme to make people think someone cares about what donors think but in reality, no one does. If someone cared, these issues above wouldn't exist.  And I'd love to know why google and their website shows they're located in St. Peters MO when they're really in O'Fallon MO.  This is not a quality place and it's by far the worst plasma center I've ever been to and I've been to a lot in the past 30 years. read more
