Update to my previous review from when they recently opened: Last time I thought Chick-fil-A did it better. Well, that's still the case but Birdcall has improved. Raisin' Canes is also wayyy better. To start, if you go there late in the day, the sun is just brutal. As an architect, the design really bothers me because of this massive, unmitigated west facing sun. They have glass garage doors on the west side which make most of the interior space unbearable. No shading devices. Outside about half the seating is west facing. Still, most of the shading does not address this. Chicken Sandwich: This time I tried the caeser chicken. I was skeptical of caesar on a hot food but it was light and really good. The grilled chicken was sized well and grilled well. Still, it's really expensive compared to Chick-fil-a. I felt the parmesan crisp overpowered the sandwich so I ditched it. I also ditched the tomato. It'd be nice if they gave you a discount if you order no tomato (and parm crisp) as chick-fil-a does, I'm not sure if Birdcall does. Fries: still standard, better than McDs, but nothing to write home about. Drink: They no longer have that horrid key lime pie milkshake. I got the lite kola soft drink and I really liked it, the highlight of the meal. I like that you actually that it's cola-forward rather than sugar forward like other colas. Service: Still very poor. I didn't pay with a card so I had to order with a person and they seemed like they couldn't be bothered. Even worse, I think it was the manager-on-duty who took my order! If I recall correctly, it seems they've tried to bring down costs by using cheap plastic and paper containers. Going back to the chick-fil-a comparison, they use styrofoam, which 4 out of 5 experts agree is better than paper plus chick-fil-a utilizes single-stream recycling of the styrofoam cups and turns them into park benches. Overall they have made some improvements but I'm surprised they haven't done more. Thus they've improved from a low-2 to a solid 3. read more

This place has the best chicken sandwiches EVER! From the bread to the chicken to the sauce! It's all yummy. The ordering system is a bit weird and a hassle if it crashes, but the food is worth it. I love the coconut lime organic soda as well. read more

My friend introduced me to this place as a "healthier version of chick fil a". It really is delicious! I had the chicken Caesar sandwich and it was amazing! I would say that the only downside to this place is the location. It's off of university so it is kind of hard to get into and there is minimal parking. Other than that I would highly recommend this plac. read more

I don't know, maybe it's me but why not go to Chick Fil A instead. I had the original which I thought would be a good gauge of what they have but it doesn't come with sauce and the fries have to be ordered separate and they are basically Mickey D fries. A couple of weeks ago a very conscientious manager, Matt G., sent me a free combo card for Birdcall because awhile back I had a less than stellar meal there. I took him up on the offer and went back today. It was fabulous! I am not a vegetarian, but I love tofu (truth, I swear) so I got the fried tofu sandwich with chicken strips as a side and a stonefruit haymaker ice tea. The fried tofu was great!! And that is not an easy accomplishment. The peanut slaw on the sammie was yummy and the bun was very brioche-like. Definitely at 10. The chicken strips were hot, juicy and crunchy. Very yummy. This place is so cool. You order through an iPad and the wait is like, 2 minutes. It's such fast service and the manager, Ryan added to the great service too. I had a few oblivious questions, but I'd never been to a restaurant like this before, and he was incredibly helpful and very polite. I ordered the Jamaican Jerk and it was soooooo good. I wasn't all that impressed with the fact that if you want to eat inside you need to have your car parked somewhere else. All the parking there is devoted to online orders and if you go through the drive-thru then you will most likely have to park your car somewhere else. The chicken is too salty for me, and my tater tots had some French fries mix in. The service could be a little better. I think that one of the biggest problems with Birdcall is that they cater too much to online customers and the hell with the rest. Next time I'll just go to Raising Cane's which has better chicken at a more reasonable price and plenty of parking. read more

Great flavor in everything I have tried including the soft drinks. Not your regular chicken sandwich. Organic chicken and drinks with outstanding fries to go along with your meal. Seating is limited and the drive through looks like a gauntlet to go through are my only concerns. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Okay so check this out, I was craving a chicken sandwich so bad I drove about 20 mins for this spot. During these crazy times it was perfect they had a drive through. Little spot, but decent parking and the wait time through drive through was 10 mins max . Okay so now the chicken, I went with the triple threat cause I love spicy food, It kinda kicked my ass! I was doing that "ah ah" sound but man was it bomb! From the pickled jalapeños to the spicy aioli everything was so drippy and savory I was completely satisfied. I LOVE SPICY , GOOD FOOD! I couldn't see the menu to well from my side but I guessed on a Arnold Palmer for a drink, which they whipped up for me and boooooy the lemonade was smacking! Next my home boy got something a bit simple, the rancher, he said he like the simplicity of the jelly and love how the breaded chicken wasn't crazy crunchy. Food was good as usual. Pickup experience very confusing! Drive thru closed due to Covid and they have Curbside Pickup Slots designated. When you pull up, there are instructions on how to order online. Assuming the order will be delivered to my designated spot, I wait patiently in my car. After 12 minutes, I walk into the restaurant to check on my order. There it is in a window for pickup. So the Drive Thru is closed due to safety concerns, but they require you to walk into the restaurant, surround yourself with multiple people to pickup your order after touching a screen to see where your order is located. Small but adorable place. The food is absolutely delicious and I love that they package in as low waste as possible. My husband had the buffalo sandwich and it was HOT. The veggie sandwich had nice crispy tofu on the outside and it was soft on the inside with a zesty aioli sauce on top. Fries were fresh.
