Stopped into Birdcall because my friend was next door grabbing vegan food. I was thrown off a little bit by the ordering. I wasn't greeted ot anything so I had to interrupt everybody as they were preparing food for orders. I'm not sure if they take cash , you have to slide your credit card or debit card to order on their little digital pads, it was a little confusing. It was only confusing because it was my very first time, and I have to say I wasn't impressed. I ordered tots and they tasted good. They tasted like regular tater tots. Ehhh.... I have given this location several shots now and there's almost always something off. The bad: I get the Meati patty and it's usually squishy, sometimes even cold in the center. There's no option to order it well done. Staff are not sympathetic to things like flat soda, broken cookies, and undercooked food. It's almost $1 to add items to a sandwich like pinch of shredded lettuce, a sauce, or pickles. The good: Salads can be okay to good, slaw is tasty, and the fries are great if you eat them quickly -- but they're skinny and get cold fast. Good beverages, soft and hard. We have driven past this specific location several times and my boyfriend has been dying to try it. We finally decided to give it a shot last night. Pulling into the parking lot we were rather confused because it's not really a parking lot? Every space is for a pick up order, so we went and parked on an alternative street and walked over. We were also then rather surprised when we walked in and realized it is completely self sufficient and you order from a machine and not a person. The combo's didn't really seem like combo's to us and it actually ended up being cheaper to order our "entree" and then a side then do the combo option. I live in Scottsdale, Arizona and Birdcall opened a location there this year but I haven't had the opportunity to try it yet. I did learn a lot about it in the local media. The eatery's chicken is sourced directly from Colorado family farms, and their bread comes from a Colorado baking company. Even their spices are sourced from a Denver firm.
