The cheesesteaks are insanely good here. I've been ordering from this location for a few years and they are very consistent. The sandwiches are always piping hot and cheesy, and the meat is always tender and delicious. The bread is also perfect. Also the 12" sandwiches are quite large, filling and worth the money. Recently they came out with a garlic-infused red pepper philly which I really enjoyed and prompted me to write this review. You can see the minced garlic in the philly and it pairs like a dream with the spicy red peppers. I even added jalapeños to it for an extra kick. They really let you customize any of the sandwiches to your heart's desire, so I really feel like I can keep coming and it will never get boring. read more

The staff mentioned they were grateful for the crowd since business had been a bit slow lately, which made us feel even better about coming in to support them. I asked the cashier what he'd recommend, and he told me his favorite was "The Works." I decided to go with that--and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. Absolute shit show of a Super Bowl Sunday. Not only is this location ALWAYS understaffed, today was a whole other story. 45min-2 hour wait for online orders. One after another wanting to cancel because they placed an order hours ago and it still has hours to be completed. Literally got up to the counter after being there for 30 min of waiting to cancel my order, the dude at the counter is on the phone taking orders...wtf?! if you're THAT backed up and people are canceling their orders left and right, only seems like common sense to not take orders until you are caught up. It is harder and harder to go back to taste of Philly. all in all the sandwich was edible, but It was mostly Bread. What little meat was in it was good but it also could have used more cheese, but considering there wasn't very much meat more cheese probably would've been overkill. The ambience and employee situation was not good, specifically the gentlemen taking the orders, the white guy. For some reason, he decided it was appropriate to talk about his close minded, political views something of which he clearly knew very little about first stating that the left could never win an election if IDs are required, but then also stating that California should be removed from the union because if California wasn't a state then the Democrats would have no chance of ever winning an election apparently. (Is it the ID's or California that is the problem?) Everyone is entitled to their views even if they are A little bit confused. I'm not sure if the workplace where a customer can hear you talking is an appropriate place to be spouting off close minded opinions for everyone to hear. That is what it is though, what really put it over the top was his discussion about Ron Jeremy, the porn star immediately after, this is immediately after a female customer walked in as well, I'm sure she felt very comfortable hearing about Ron Jeremy and his big fat C**k (verbatim). Small interior and you have to ring the bell to get someone to come from the back to order. Our order took 15 minutes to make and we were the only ones inside. Got a Philly Cheesesteak here to eat while watching Superbowl LVII. My sandwich was delicious -- fresh soft roll generously stuffed with steak and cheese -- just like ones I'd had in Philadelphia. The shop is a takeout place in a small south Denver strip mall. It has an extensive sandwich menu. Service is quick and friendly. Plenty of parking out front. I just ordered an 8" sandwich, a can of coke, and a small side of potato salad through Grubhub for $33. I ordered the sandwich with extra cheese, and it showed up with practically no cheese. I called the restaurant to let them know of their mistake, not really wanting much more than just that. The first time I called, I explained that I've been eating at taste of Philly for 10+ years and I know what extra cheese looks like. The kid on the phone has a horrible attitude, and proceeds to tell me "that's weird" and then starts to tell me how they make their sandwiches. He then puts me hold and doesn't come back. So, I called again, this time requesting his manager's name and his name, he gave neither before telling me I didn't need to know his name and hanging up. This little jerk. I'll get in touch with the GM and hopefully he will either get an attitude adjustment or fired! After reading all the health violations on here, I don't even want to dine there anymore! Awesome food! I had the mushroom Philly and my bf ordered a The Works AND a Meatball sub. It's a small space but had a dine in area and we sat down to wait. It was oddly quiet in there and we were able to hear the sound of our order being prepared, both a good AND a bad thing. All of a sudden, J.Cole comes from the speakers, our subs shortly followed. The first bite with great music in the background was just what the doctor ordered! A nod of approval from my bf that his subs were awesome and Drake comes on....such a fun and delicious experience. I hate to drop a couple of stars on these guys because, for over three years, they've been consistently excellent. So this review is just for my last experience on 05/06/22. They were quite busy so I'll give them a bit of a pass but the cheese steak (original) I received was terrible... Way too much onion, too much cheese and the steak just tasted 'off'. Worst of all was the roll! They either ran out of their usual rolls and used a cheap knockoff roll but the difference was immediately obvious. I hope it's not a change of supplier. Small hole in the wall sandwich restaurant with friendly service and really good philly cheese steaks. The flavor was delicious and it had the perfect amount of peppers, onion and mushrooms. Not the best cheesesteak I've had....by far. It was very skimpy on cheese, which is my favorite part of the sandwich, and I didn't think the meat was as flavorful as it should have been. It did come out quick and super hot, but I was immediately disappointed when I saw the cheese was provolone, instead of whiz. I suppose I should have asked for whiz, instead of assuming. Or maybe they could have asked me which cheese I wanted....since the menu just said "with melted cheese". Either way, a disappointing sandwich...even with my $1 off for mentioning "Fashion Denver" (an event that was taking place next door). I can now write an update after having a couple of cheesesteaks in Philly recently. This place beat out one of the most over-rated places in Philly-Geno's. And I even liked the provolone cheesesteak here better than the one I had at Jim's in Philly. They take the time to actually melt the provolone in with the meat so it adds a lot of flavor to the sandwich. Geno's can't even compare to this place! Man, this is not what I want to be doing right now, but it must be done. Five stars down to 3, and that's being generous at this point. The past 2 times we ordered from TOP is was very disappointing. The first flub up was that they made my Italian sub hot, a grinder, when I said over and over I wanted it cold. I honestly should have called them back at that point, but my fault for trying to endure. It was gross. Heating the sub changes flavor and texture completely. I threw most of it away. The the 2nd big flub was just the other night. This time my order was correct but the hubs bit into a twisty tie in his Philly!! What if he would have choked?! He did call quite upset and they offered us a $10 credit. You may wonder why I'm still giving 3 stars, it is because when they get it right, it's right. How to Ruin a Good Restaurant... 1) Start with an admittedly expensive menu, think almost $10 for a sandwich. I just ordered dinner for my husband and I with a coupon and no drinks and our two phillies + driver tip cost me over $21. 2) Send said driver over extremely late (I was told an hour, wasn't even close...) and to the wrong condo number. Sandwiches arrived cold and soggy. 3) Cut the portion sizes by at least 50%. Those photos on the reviews? Not the sandwich you get. I'm attaching a picture so you can see the sandwich you get. The "large" sandwich comes on something like a super-mini baguette. The meat/cheese/etc?--not spilling over the top, my mini baguette closed...the bread met in the middle with no visible sign of food in the middle. The last inch on either side of my sandwich didn't even have meat or cheese in it at all--just dry bread. I used to barely be able to eat a small here--now I wolfed down the large and am still hungry and will probably have to make my husband a whole 2nd dinner! Not the point in spending $20 ordering out!! 4) Make the toppings a mere whiff. My "works" contained maybe two small diced pieces of onion, 4 small diced pieces of green pepper, and not a single detectable mushroom. The only real taste was from the melted and subsequently congealed cheese. Not the "works" in Philly...or even Denver...maybe in remote desert somewhere outside of Yuma. 5) Convince your local and loyal customers to never eat there again. ...done. read more

As good as I've had in Denver. It has that je ne sais quoi that'll bring you back for more. It's hot, juicy, cheesy, steaky and yummy. The place ain't much to look at - I've taken it out to a nearby park when it's crowded - but the cheesesteaks are all that (you have to get the chips extra to make it all that and a bag of chips). As a side note, the bread (absolutely key to a great cheesesteak) is awesome, and the meat is great - it's deflating to get a bite of gristle or similar in your sandwich, and they avoid that problem. Pretty okay. I always get the "original", which translates into a "whiz with" (Cheez Whiz and grilled onions) if you've ordered in Philly before. I ask for extra whiz, too - if you're going to have a cheesesteak, you might as well! They're a little stingy with the Whiz, too. Add in some peanut butter kandykakes, and you're set! Of course, these aren't nearly as good as what you'll find in Philly, but if you don't get back there much, this will satisfy your craving. They import their bread from Amoroso's in Philly - so it's about as close as you'll get to the real thing. Suggest take out, because by the time delivery gets there, the bread is pretty soggy and disgusting. read more

I used to work with a guy from Philly and he always said look for the Tastykakes - that being said, this place was recommended to me by some of my current geek coworkers. I soon as I walked in the door, there to the right was a display of Tastykakes - definitely a good sign. I ordered the "small" (8") Original with drink and Tastykakes chocolate cupcakes - damage was barely over $8.
