Whole Foods has changed a lot since Amazon purchased them. The food is more corporate and less local. The employees are a bit more grumpy, and seem to be discouraged from having any personality. I love this WFM. It has one of the best layouts and their warm food section is second to none. Although some things can be pricy, sometimes you can get lucky and find the Asian fresh cooked meals for $7.99. Parking is plentiful and very close to all the shops in Belmar, it's a fantastic lunch destination. The produce and meat selection is the best at this location. Beautiful market! Prices are high for certain items but I was happy with the price of the organic milk. Lots of variety in products! I think it's such a clean and well designed store! They have free fruits for the kids and also a spacious area to eat. There's a private parking lot on the store level which can be entered by two different streets. Utterly disgusting - from 3 separate Whole Foods locations I was sold infested salmon. I returned it, and the store manager grabbed the fish representative who was appalled and said that happens when the fish comes infested then sits on the shelves for too long. I reached out to Whole Foods, who instead of looking to fix the problem, told me I was wrong and they can offer a refund. Recently, I bought their bulk chicken breast to find a worm sticking out of the top of it. I'm not sure where the lack of care, oversight and control comes from - maybe when Amazon took over? - but its honestly disrespectful to their customers. I go there because they claim to have high quality food, but more times that not, I'm throwing even produce away due to an overgrowth of mold or bugs. Overall, Whole Foods has become an untrustworthy supplier of meat/seafood. I think this is something people should know and understand. Please share this review. read more

My parents want to drive me away from WF sooo baaaddd. They want me to abandon my love for Whole Foods. Only because of it categorizing itself as a high end shopping experience, but C'Mon! I get allergies and unhappiness at Wal-Mart. This particular WF is super big and very roomy, so I don't cart collision with other shoppers. Even though the aisles grace with numerous items that I have no idea of, there are always some friendly faces there to help. The most coolest thing about being a Whole Foods-aholic, is the fact that there food bars are so fun to see. The samples are busting out, and I like to try their doughy dumplings, their vegetable Gyouza, their sushi bites. I love that Whole Foods has sooooo much sushi. Something King Soopers Lacks. KS has some sushi rolls, but very inexpensive for a reason. They are not fresh. Whole Foods also has a various selection of yogurt brands:: Bellwether being a favorite of mine. This, being the biggest location to me, I think it's wonderful that I could stop at 5-6 stores or just 1: Whole Foods has everything for one stop in shopping. read more

The only reason I would go to Whole Foods was for the Asian grill which they eliminated 3 years ago. Well now it's back. So I ordered my favorite salmon teriyaki to eat at the bar. I came here with Hubby's niece to get some stuff for barbecue. We bought shrimp, littleneck clams, organic chicken wings and grass fed steak. The price wasn't that bad. I enjoyed this store. I used to shop at Whole Foods when there's only one store in Manhattan. Everything we got was good but the shrimp was a little bit too soft and I'm afraid it was just ok but not as good as the rest that I bought. Whatever the case is, everything was edible. The clams turned out to the best! Every shell opened successfully. I wonder whether this store is doing well or not because I don't see enough people shopping at the time we were there but that could be because it's the middle of the day. I've been to different Whole Foods and this is one of the larger and more accommodating ones. At the full salad, hot foods bars or sandwich station they can make you all types of different sandwiches and burritos. At the BBQ station you can get brisket, pulled pork, ribs and other BBQ type foods. A pizza station, a hamburger station and an Asian sea food station. This place is great. Some oddities for this particular location - It's inside Whole Foods and you can only order on the tablets with a debit/credit card as far as I could tell. While working at a new place in Lakewood this was one of closer and healthier places to shop and grab lunch. I rather go here than going to a drive thru any day. They have a great layout, the store is a good size with ample parking and I have a big truck so this is appreciated even with multilevel parking structures. The prices were as expected and the food was fresh. I got some sushi, had to try theirs. They also have a great salad and deli section. Fresh fruits and vegetables, great organic options for those that want to eat healthy and still enjoy the taste and flavors of their food. Remember when you went to Whole Foods because they had the freshest ingredients and best service? Boy has that changed since Amazon took over. Shopping at the Whole Food Belmar is like shopping in an active warehouse. The place is a mess, there are random carts and boxes everywhere and Amazon delivery folks have no sense of social distancing. There is absolutely no one around to assist you with questions. Say whatever you want about Whole Payche... err Whole Foods, but I like it. This store is a never-ending source of entertainment. Food: Yes, you can buy organic food stuffs here, but you can also grab a meal in-store or to go. Like everything in Belmar, this Whole Foods is nice, but a hassle. A hassle to navigate to get into, a hassle to park in their huge lot (always crazy with people walking, pulling out, parking) and a hassle to check out (lines are always long). This is the largest Whole Foods I've ever seen. Just enormous. There are huge produce, meat & seafood areas, an olive bar, an antipasto bar, a hot gourmet food bar, a salad bar, a deli, a pizza station, an enormous mouthwatering dessert and pastry section, a fancy ass cheese section, a coffee shop with a seating area, at least 2 sets of restrooms and a nice open front porch seating area. I'm sure I'm there's more and I'm forgetting it. The selection is really great and parking is good. I'm sure it's a rich person's wet dream, but I can't come back here as the place does nothing but mock my poverty. I constantly have to avert my gaze from the many delicious $7.99/lb food bars and $14 cheeses. It ultimately ends up being nothing more than an instrument of torture. Yea you heard me right one line for checkout was open with the lady doing it being slower than molasses. Another line opened when they finally realized how many people were in line but it took forever for them to realize. After that the first guy in the line couldn't pay for his products and the lady behind the counter said yea that's been happening a lot it's our fault. This place used to be so clean and up to par, but it seems, even off peak times that the staff has lost interest in keeping both the cold and hot bars sanitary and clean. There's always food all over the place and running down the sides of the cabinets. The sad part is, it's been there for a while because it's all dried on the side. I visit this WFM often, as the employees are really friendly and it's the closest to me. That said, is it me or is WFM going down hill since Amazon purchased? The produce quality isn't great, and it's difficult to find help when you're shopping. I think it's disgusting that plastic bags are the only option in the bulk section. Yes, plastic is cheaper than paper but WFM should be promoting less plastic use. Of course I can bring my own, but this isn't always realistic. I really wish they would take more dramatic, meaningful steps to eradicate plastic from the stores. I will continue to shop less and less and WFM and more at Natural Grocers. They are aligning better with my values on organic and reducing environmental footprint. And, frankly their prices are better overall. read more
