Tried the naughty neighbor that comes coleslaw, fries, and two chicken tenders. Flavor was great. Spiciness was there, and we ordered the mild flavor. However the chicken tender was a bit too salty for our taste. Would go back and try other items on their menu. read more

There's a HUGE difference between medium and hot. For someone who likes spice, the medium wasn't spicy at all and hot was a lingering spice. I wish there was an inbetween. read more

I visited Connecticut with a friend (im from jersey) and they insisted that I try this chicken sandwich and I must say it's by far the best I've ever had thus far!!! Omg. Where do I start. First I hate breaded chicken BUT my friends tried this place and loved it. So i had to give it a try!! This is not what it seems!! The brioche bread is perfect. Crunchy. Not oversoaked with dressing. The breaded chicken is perfection. White tender chicken. Breading light and crunchy. Dressing not too much. Everything is so fragrant. I came for the first time with my little one. We both love SPICY!!!! But man my suggestion is to start mild or medium no matter if you like spicy like me! What a great place to grab food that is a change up from the usual west Hartford food selection. I got the naughty neighbor with Mac and cheese instead of fries. The chicken tenders are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside and the vinegar slaw and Mac and cheese with the addition of the pickles is amazing a full of flavor. Great Chicken Sandwich...one of the best I have ever had. Got the hot spice and it was very hot. Nicely dusted with spice and not over spiced. Could still taste the chicken even though it was extremely hot. The fries on the other hand might have been good but I could not taste them underneath such a think layer of spice...I ordered them with hot dry rub as well. Unfortunately, they had so much dry rub on them that I could not even see the color of the fries underneath; they were basically just dark red. It was so much dry rub that they tasted gritty, as if they were covered in sand. The correct way to apply a dry rub to fries is a light dusting. This way, you can taste the fries and they will have great texture. They will still be just as hot with less rub and be so much more enjoyable. Once your mouth is heated up, more rub won't make the fries hotter, it will just make them very unpleasant to eat. I am hoping that this was just a mistake and that they are not this way all the time. I will try again and see. read more

They spent a lot of time and what must have been a huge amount of money building this space out. I watched it progress so was interested in checking it out. I placed a to-go order online. It was ready 10 minutes after the promised time. Very friendly staff and lots of them, like 8 people working. ----- The sandwich was very good. I ordered "hot" and it was. The breading / coating was crunchy but maybe a bit too thick. I'd definitely order it again. ---- The whole wings were gross. Big lumpy things unidentifiable as wings. Breading / coating way too thick and very greasy. Under the coating the chicken skin was fatty and had the texture of boiled chicken skin. The chicken was cooked but the skin was loose and floppy. Totally nasty. ----- I was contacted by the owner who had no explanation for the floppy skin other than that the wings are cooked by their "proprietary" method (which must be parboiling before frying) which they realize is a failure and informing me that they are completely changing this. read more

Stumbled on this place while looking for take out options near my office and decided to give it a try. I got the chicken tenders (3) and a side of mac and cheese. The tenders were substantial in size and not greasy. Since I love buffalo wings, I ordered the medium spice. They are not in sauce, rather the spice is a dry rub on a piece of fried chicken. And it was PLENTY spicy for me. It has that level of hotness that feels at first like it's too much but then you can't. stop. eating. it. The comeback sauce was a nice complement to the spicy chicken and the mac and cheese was good if you like a thick, white Velveeta-like texture/flavor sauce. All in all - it's a definite thumbs up and I can't wait to go back for more! read more

I like spicy food and love spicy fried chicken but i did not like this. I tried the medium sando and its way too spicy. It had the perfect crunch, not greasy and juicy but the heat. And this comes from a girl who just moved from texas a couple of years ago. I ended up eating only half of it. I decided to give them a second chance and got the mild. This is just tasteless, no spice, less spice than KFC and Popeyes, which are extra hot compared to this. I only ate half of that and threw it out. Then I tried the wings, horrible, boiled and full of breading. I live nearby so its sad that i cant pick up a chicken sandwich but i cant go back to this. Popeye is better and should be the mild at this place. Now if you can handle habanero type very very hot spices, definitely check it out, you will love it here. read more

Here we go, this place is really nice on the inside and outside, it is kinda smaller on the inside the open space should have a table against the wall for more seating. The drinks are "okay" hosmer products. What I don't get is the no BBQ sauce which I get it the comeback sauce and the cheese sauce is great and it might be a chicken place thing but some people just need BBQ sauce with the chicken tendies, I would say 4/5 for seating and the wet bread served with every meal which should be toasted, can't knock a place for no BBQ if it's there thing that's understood. Won't be running back but definitely a place to try if you haven't. read more

Best hot chicken (tenders) I've had outside of Nashville. I think their spice recipe stacks up against a majority of the heavy hitters from the Music City, and I'd actually argue their tenders are better than several famous spots (including Hattie B's). The only downside is that they only offer tenders and a sandwich. Would love to see them add the whole bird to the menu. Either way, after living in Tennessee for over a decade (Lived in Memphis but day-tripped and spent weekends in Nashville all the time) I'm just shocked to have found such a great hot chicken spot in Connecticut of all places!? read more

Went there this past Tuesday March 16th. I have to tell you...I ordered the Naughty Neighbor...from the description I thought, OK..bed of fries with some tenders on it...fine. Expected the slaw and pickles off to the side with a small sauce of some kind in a little cup. Should be fairly neat. Not the case...it was all slopped together. This was more like a Primanti's sandwich without the bread in a takeout box. It tasted good but on a cold day, if it's too cold to eat outside, and due to covid you don't want to eat inside...this was a challenge to eat neatly in the car. My wife had the Chicken Sando...that looked good. Food was fresh. read more
