I have tried for 2 weeks to reach a customer service agent about a return and no response. I have left numerous messages and I wait, I am not sure who is in charge but this is not how you treat customers. All I had was a question on a return and crickets. purchased the birdwell navy sweatpants, 80.00 would expect at least a quality compared to Champion all cotton pant. The inside of these shed pills of cotton everytime I wear them . Tried washing inside out still did not solve the problem contacted Birdwell they told me they don't consider the pants shedding a problem they would address . Nice company EIGHTY dollars !!!! Birdwell does not honor their "Lifetime Warranty". I sent photos of a pair of shorts where the low-quality fabric ripped, and another of a hoodie where the stitching on the pocket came loose. The horrible customer service, over email only, because you can't talk to someone, claimed it must have been because of excessive wear and tear. I am disappointed in Birdwell's customer service response and its product. Not only have I invested over $100+ on an imported sweater; it piles upon itself non-stop and now, I am instructed to hand wash the sweater. Birdwell keeps moving the goalpost with its responses to my simple refund request. "Shave" the piling off the sweater (I was told this 3x in responses over four weeks of back and forth), we don't stand by our product once worn, only hand wash the product, we won't escalate your complaint to our management team for a satisfactory response (a refund); I would never have purchased this sweater had I understood all the intricate hurdles of ownership. Your customer service continues to be laughable. I saw this sweater on a friend of mine and liked it enough to order one myself. HOWEVER, Birdwell's lack of customer service, inability to escalate the matter when requested, and provide a guarantee/ability to return the garment for refund means I will NEVER do business with Birdwell again. Birdwell is a sold out, dishonest company who is more interested in making a quick buck than satisfying a customer. Karma will bite Birdwell, mark my word! The Birdwell brand name continues to go down in flames and drug through the mud with actions like this and poor quality. Bad customer service and junk products! I recently purchased the Comp Stripe Sweater and wore it for a few hours and it immediately pilled under the arms. I contacted Birdwell customer service with the order number, and sent photos. After half a dozen emails and calls, I was told that "even the most luxurious wool sweaters can pill" and "unfortunately, we are unable to return the sweater". I've owned a lot of sweaters, many have never pilled, some have after years of wear, but none have ever pilled like this one after a couple of hours of wear. More importantly, Birdwelll's website touts "enduring quality", but they don't stand behind the claim and won't accept a return even a few days after purchase. I've since researched Birdwell quality and there are plenty of reviews and sources online that suggest poor quality products are standard and customer service is non existent. What more could you ask for than a local CA, small business, surf shop located blocks from the water? I fell upon Birdwell a few years ago, and have always been impressed with their quality, customer service, and locally made vibe. These are the sorts of small businesses we should be supporting. When I finally had the chance to get out to LA, I looked them up and stopped in the retail store to see what the in-person experience was all about. I was not disappointed. This is a small corner shop about 3 blocks from the beach. Parking and access are easy, so getting here is no problem. As soon as I entered, we were welcomed in and helped on our shopping journey. The lady working was very friendly and helpful. She was able to find everything we were looking for in our sizes, and helped us find just the right stuff. Payment was easy, and we were done in a flash. It isn't a big store, but they have pretty much the entire line of merch. You will pay a premium price, but you are getting an American made product with the highest quality and warranty standing behind it. Keep up the great work Birdwell. read more

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE sell this business and brand to someone who will love it again. I've worn Birdwell for almost 50 years. I guard in the summer and buy a new pair at least once a year. I hate that you're not locally made and the quality I once knew is gone. I never cared to pay for quality, but now I pay for bad service and junk. Recentrly purchased one of there newer Jackets, only to find a tag that said "Made In China". Completely fell apart after wearing it out around 4-5 times, and one wash. Seams came apart, nylon started to pit and crease. Getting a respond from customer service (they no longer post a phone number) was almost impossible. Ended up having to dispute the credit card charge. Too bad, I have purchased many products from them over the years, unfortunately will be looking elsewhere. read more

Customer Service is nonexistent. Braden J cannot get a resolution on a lost order that was placed 28 days ago. The manner in which the 'Customer Success Associates' hide behind a computer and not communicate is ridiculous and shows that the new ownership may sink this once great product. Disappointed :( BIRDWELLS FIRST PRIORITY IS NOT THE CUSTOMER :( With that said I have bought around 15 different products from them in the last year or so...I am a good customer. I did recently buy 6 no exchange no return items...about 1/2 of them I would have preferred to exchange but only asked for one item to see if they might make an exception. I had bought to 2 pairs of swim trunks and wanted to go up one waist size...one of them was no longer in stock in my size so that's the way it goes...but the other pair was, and I made a request for a possible exchange...when they did not respond to my email I re-forwarded it again and put in all the emails I had for them...they sent a link saying I could use it to exchange an item but when I attempted to use the link it did not work so I sent another email saying apparently they did not read my email very well....I did receive a phone call shortly after that which is impressive but my answer from Ricky...was a flat no they would not consider my request. I will not beg.
