Birmingham Pub is a popular and sophisticated British-style restaurant in Birmingham, MI, a very walkable and expensive city near Detroit. The exterior and the interior are top-notch and it is definitely a place to dress incredibly nice and show off your skill in ordering bougie cocktails and high-end spirits. My bf, his mom, and I were treated to dinner here in June 2026 by my boyfriend's uncle, who lives a couple blocks away and goes here regularly. After deciding on just sticking with water for our drinks, we ordered the artisan garlic bread ($8) to split between the four of us. I must be a bread obsessive person because I LOVED this version of garlic bread - it is very different than the Texas Toast frozen brand you buy at the supermarkets, just FYI. The bread is super crusty and the sauce is barely garlic-y. I was stuck on ordering myself the maple seasoned sweet potato waffle fries ($9) no matter what, so to offset allllllll the calories I have already had earlier in the day (as well as with the garlic bread and fries), I ordered the Sicilian Caesar salad ($14) with blackened chicken added on ($12). For $26, this was one very basic chicken Caesar salad for how dang expensive it was. But I guess I was trying to be healthy in a gastropub, so that's on me. The others ordered fish and chips ($29), bangers and mash ($30), and the grilled salmon bowl ($32). I know that the prices are high to match the clientele in this high earning Michigan community, but I still think the prices are just all-around way too high. Perhaps the fish and chips alone was worth the price out of the four mains. I tasted the fish and it was perfectly fried and the portion of fish and fries were generous. By this point, we were full and skipped dessert although they had a nice selection on their menu. The service was professional and prompt, despite the place being packed. I didn't pay the bill, fortunately, but I don't think the mains are worth the price. If in the area, I would love to come back for a happy hour and get a cocktail and eat more waffle fries and artisan garlic bread! Perhaps on a day when I am carbo-loading haha. read more

I went for brunch with a large group and the service was mostly good. My napkin was dirty and I asked two different people, four times, for a clean napkin and never got one. Thankfully, there was an extra set of silverware on the table that someone gave me. Also whoever's in the kitchen, or whoever prepares the desserts, apparently didn't think to look at the menu and see that there were four ingredients to my dessert. They initially only gave me two of them. I had to ask for the other two and basically build it myself. Having said that, I loved the atmosphere and the food, once it was correct, was delicious! I had the BHP Crunchy Friatta (their take on a frittata). It was delicious, but those Hungarian peppers were SPICY!! I had the Strawberries & cream for dessert (from the brunch menu). They literally brought me a bowl of strawberries and cream, so I told the waiter it was supposed to have granola, which he didn't know. First of all, I had a great experience. When I think of a pub, this is exactly what I picture. The dark wood, the dim light, the giant Leo DiCaprio photo... wait, maybe that's atypical, but still fits nicely. Now an important note is that this not only a pub, but a gastropub, and now we have upped that ante. We are no longer talking about ordering a pint and burger, we are talking about having an experience and I will tell you 100% they do not disappoint. I have been here several times now and have loved every experience. While I have enjoyed the tacos and sliders, it was their steak fries and fish and chips that made me joyous. The first reminded me of this spot in Paris where I had steak frites for the first time and fell in love with a great steak, and the second reminded me of sitting with my cousins in Liverpool. Had a great experience overall. Food and service are good. Got the beef Stroganoff which tasted great but portion rather small especially for the price. But the chicken angel hair pasta was amazing! Large portion. Chicken super tender. Pasta had some banana peppers that made it unique but also balanced out the fatty/greasiness. Kids meal mediocre but as expected. Environment was great. Our server was super friendly! Didn't know they had free parking in the garage but that's a plus. Would probably return for the pasta. read more

Im disappointed in the service that we received on Friday March. I called throughout the week to organize a party of 17 people and asked the restaurant their policy on the bill. The hostess told me they can split it 4 ways or if everyone brings cash they can do individual checks. I told my party of 17 to all bring cash. When we are wrapping up dinner the waitress says they can only accept four cards and no cash is accepted. I asked to speak to the manager and he told me "they told the hostess exactly what to say on the phone and they told her not to say that and he had a feeling this would happen". I was frustrated that they did not call me back, knowing their worker communicated the wrong information. Our party of 17 was then late to our show we were trying to get to (which the restaurant knew about) because we had to figure out the bill. I would appreciate more accountability for the hosts and would have wished the manager called me back when he "had a feeling this would happen" to avoid my coworkers have to figure out the bill! Which was what I was trying to avoid. One of my coworkers also found a piece of hair in her food that she told the waitress about. It was not a good experience except for the waitress who helped us efficiently and was kind. read more

We had a reservation and were seated upstairs which has zero vibe. I felt like I was eating dinner in a spare room. The service was average, but the waitress was a little clueless on the dessert size so we ordered two. One dessert would easily be enough for two people that just at dinner, so we took the 2nd dessert home. The fried ice cream was stale, as in it had no crunch to the outer coating. My steak, cooked medium as ordered, was so tough I had to have my husband cut it. It was edible, but had quite a bit of fat and was a little tough. I've only ever been here on Valentine's Day, but I must say, it was a great experience! This review is quite overdue because we came here for Valentine's Day 2022, but I saw that they were offering the same V-Day menu in 2023, and I'm crossing my fingers for 2024 as well! The food was out-of-this-world delicious -- no exaggeration -- we couldn't stop talking about it for months! They had a prix fixe menu with multiple courses, and every single dish was incredible. I've never been so full! Plus, shoutout to the staff, because they were seriously sweet. They even accommodated our dietary quirks, which was a massive win with a prix fixe menu. I don't know if they'd be able to do that all the time though, so it's definitely worth asking beforehand. The price was super reasonable in my opinion, considering the quality and amount of food that was served. We missed out last year, but I'm really hoping we'll be able to come back this February. Food was pretty good and that's crucial, right? Something dramatic changed in the garlic bread loaf from last visit and it's not nearly as good. Almost no garlic butter and it was really just an over-baked French bread. Chicken fried sandwich was very good. Place is VERY loud. Not sure how to improve, but struggled with table conversation over the staff talking and just general noise overall. Tables near the front entrance (I think) are way better, but the rear seating needs some attention. They validate parking which is a big plus if you're in the garage. Try them for drinks but not the food. Expensive but a good atmosphere. Asked to split the tuna poke appetizer and sweet potato fries with my friend, and was so disappointed. It took over 40 mins for it to come out and it had 4 small slices of seared tuna on top of rice and some veggies. Not what you would think of as poke. I wish the bartender would have said it's a very small dish and not great for sharing. (Definitely NOT worth $20) She also didn't ask us if we wanted to order entrees. A great way to kick off the weekend-- we were seated right away at our reservation time at a corner window table. The ambiance is modern and lively-- parking tip--use the garage and they'll validate. Our server was friendly and so accommodating. the pace of the meal was right on and water glasses never got below 1/2 way. Now for the food-- the calamari app was perfectly fried with a spicy dipping sauce. The old fashions were spot on too. We held our wedding rehearsal dinner here (party of 11). Overall we had good service and food was tasty. The food portions and presentation were great. It was easy to make a reservation. Everyone enjoyed their food, some of the entrees included steak frites, fish and chips, airline chicken, and halibut. The fish and chips entree is huge. The waitress did not help our elderly parents and give them a heads up it's big enough to split. So that was the only negative I have to share. I heard the fish and chips were good and the breading on the fish was crunchy and unique but wasn't as flavorful as I would've liked. The fries were nothing special and just would have higher expectations for the price point of anything at this restaurant. It's busy. We were seated about 5 minutes after we arrived. It's the same owner as Andiamos. Open for only 7 weeks now. The interior looks good. Christian is waiting on us. We ordered the shoe string truffle fries, salmon Caesar no croutons and a salmon pub salad, wanted to see what this webby bread looks like. The shoe string truffle fries were good. Nicely fried. It comes with Bernaise sauce and ketchup. We asked for bbq sauce, which tasted more like their steak sauce. The salmon Caesar was different, it comes with olive tepanade and artichoke as well. It was pretty good, not $32 worth. The salmon pub salad was okay. I did ask for a spoon to scoop out the avocado, never got it at all. Made do cutting it out with the knife and slicing it up myself. Definitely wasn't worth $36 for this salad at all. I ordered the fresh seasonal berries to end the meal. Strawberries, blackberries, blueberries and raspberries. Not sure the portion is worth $9. Must be the extra cost for the Marsala sabayon liquor mousse. A blueberry had mold at the stem. I am good. The waiter said it's part of the stem. The other blueberries don't look that way at the stem. My card landed on the floor, will need to disinfect that when it's returned to me. read more

My daughter had a rough week so we decided to take her somewhere nice for dinner. She recommended the Birmingham Pub, so we made reservation (highly recommended). The pub is spread over two floors and can be accessed via a parking deck (be sure to bring your slip with you as they validate!). We were seated upstairs at a high top near the bar. They have windows that fold open during nice weather and there is a nice view of area. We ordered some calamari and a pierogi for starters. They were both good, and I'd order them again, but thought they were slightly under seasoned. After dipping the calamari in their sauce, it was fine. My daughter ordered the halibut and absolutely loved it! My wife ordered the stroganoff and couldn't stop talking about the sauce! I ordered the steak frites and have found a new spot for the best frites in the area! Crispy outside with a light pillowy center. The truffle and Parmesan were present, but not overpowering. The Birmingham pub has a beautiful elegant atmosphere. It is a two story restaurant and if you sit upstairs you can over look the beautiful downtown Birmingham. It is a great place for a date night or even a night out with coworkers. This is my third time here and I love it. I always get their filet because it is to die for and cooked to perfection. Everyone in our group got a different dish and no one had any complaints. Our service was great and our food came out hot and tasty. We got the calamari and the buffalo cauliflower for appetizers both were amazing but the calamari came with buffalo sauce and I believe it would be better if it came with marinara sauce, but other than that everything was amazing. I had such a fun night out for dinner here! I came with a girl friend and we had so much fun! I had the halibut and it was by far one of the best fishes I've ever had!!!! The only reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5 is because I had a hard time planning my birthday dinner here. I asked if they could accommodate a large group and I was told yes but that the manager would call me. He sure did! Only to tell me I would need to pay a minimum. When I told him we just wanted to have a fun dinner and was not told there would be a minimum, he tried to negotiate a smaller minimum and eventually said they could only do a fixed menu. All of this would have been fine if I was told when I asked if they could accommodate a larger group. I would definitely go back though! The food was delicious! read more
