I recently had my husbands 30th surprise birthday party here the day before thanksgiving.. best decision Ever. The owner was so easy to work with and very accommodating. I had a buffet style type because I rented the room upstairs for a private party, and the food was amazing. The room was set up exactly how I wanted it. We visited for first time this weekend and sat at the bar. The bartenders are very dirty here. We notice she was putting ice cubes in drinks with her bare hands, and not once did I ever see any of the bartenders wash their hands not once! Even after touching other people's dirty glasses and dishes they did not wash their hands. And you can see their servers doing the same thing when they put lemons on drinks with their hands. Also they served me expired beer as you can see in our photo. Its November, beer expired in June! We decided not to order any food because it was not worth getting sick. Absolutely disgusting. I think this place is trying too hard. I'm also not even sure what they are trying so hard to be. Took a while to get drinks because they weren't familiar with the cocktail and wine that was ordered although it was on the menu. Wine options were not impressive, and they were out of the only wine that was interesting. Calamari was rubbery and bland. Shrimp cocktail comes in a shot glass soaking in cocktail sauce. Our server was bothersome. I'm not sure if we were their last table and they were trying to rush us along or if they truly just could not read that we were having a casual evening. If you know you're going to have time make sure you request him, the service was excellent. I tried that as cargo and I give it a 10 out of 10. Went there with the kids. Met at the door by a hostess that looked like coming into the restaurant was such a chore for her. Was seated by said unbothered hostess. Waited for 15 minutes with absolutely no one greeting us or even filling waters. Finally got up and started to walk to the door when the manager saw us leaving and asked why. We said we were treated poorly by the hostess and that no one had swung by our table to greet us. Instead of inviting us back and saying he would make it right, he just shrugged, apologized and said sorry. It's a bummer because we had been there once prior (after it became BP) and had great food and great service. Won't put this back in the rotation for business meetings or family outings. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and steered us toward exactly what we wanted based o. Our questions. She also made other recommendations just to add to the difficulty of picking a meal. I went to this restaurant and I bit into the olive that came in my drink and there was MOLD inside of BOTH olives. The manager didn't even offer to cover our bill and was extremely rude when we confronted him about the mold in the olives. This place is filthy and the service is horrible. It is obviously a disgusting place if they have mold in their food. The health department should shut this place down! read more

Just back from "eating" dinner at the pub. We were looking forward to eating there especially since the ownership group had recently won an award. Atmosphere and service were very nice. But the food was not up to par. My wife is a long term vegetarian and so had a Beyond burger which was undercooked and bland plus stringy. The cheese was cheap American that stuck to her teeth. The tomato was too crispy. I had beef stroganoff that was different from any I had ever had. The sauce was beef broth based, not creamy. The beef chunks were all tough and hard to chew. The pasta was undercooked long roll up's. Even the carrots were undercooked. For a dish costing $39 it was disappointing compared to my experience at two of their other restaurants. We did complain, showed the maitre-d, and had him take it back to show the chef. He apologized and made the meals complimentary. First time I have ever sent a meal back to chef. read more

Only reason this place gets two stars (I'd prob go 2 1/2) is bc the cocktails were good. I went tonight w/two friends. We did not have reservations and were granted a table for 2 hours. Kind of understandable during Covid (even though they had plenty of open tables even w/reduced capacity...) so we stayed. Brussels sprouts app just ick--BS were close to raw and tasteless. Calamari was also really blah--fried, like they got it from Gordon FS. Then we had the Reuben and the fried chicken sandwich (split). These were good sammies but honestly, expensive for what you get (then again, it is B'ham). What will keep me from going back though? The fact that we had paid, and were getting up to leave (I was going to use the restroom) when the mgr came over to tell us "we had to go" because we were "over our time". By less than 10 minutes. And note, there were MANY tables open around us. And we had just asked our sever if we needed to scoot bc we knew we were pressing up against "time" (she said, no way, take your time! Which was nice, until her mgr made it SO not so a couple of minutes later...). Why treat patrons at a NEW restaurant (we'd had $150 worth of food and drinks, all told) this way? Instantly I went from, "I need to come back here soon (see: good cocktails)" to "I'll never (ever) come back here again". Not good management. read more

Service was impeccable, Food left a lot to be desired. There was no seasoning on our steak or fish, ( extremely bland). Side on plate was crispy rice done in an inventive way but very bland. And because of Covid ,no salt or pepper on the table to help such bland food. The fish also came out raw inside and had to be taken back to be cooked longer.
