First time trying from this truck. I've had good birria tacos elsewhere. I've heard a lot about this place and have meant to try this out for a while now. I pass by here nearly every day on the way home... Often not at the right time. They usually set up after 4pm. It was a cold day with some snow still on the ground. Upon arriving noticed at least 6 or 7 cars double parked and blocking traffic in order to order food from this truck. I walked up to the truck and there were about 10 orders ahead of me. I ordered simply 3 birria tacos and a large consume. Not knowing what to expect I thought with 10 people ahead it might take 20 min or more. But lo and behold, the order was ready in 10 min. I couldn't believe how quickly I got the order. I ate one taco right on the spot since I don't know how it would be by the time I got them home. The first bite was very good. Crunchy taco, juicy meat. It came with pickled red onions and some salsa. I dipped it in the consume and it was amazing! I took the other 2 tacos home assuming it may get soggy after 20 min. But they were still crispy! Dipping in consume was heaven. I had to dip every bite and get a spoon to get more of the juicy goodness to my mouth. The consume was very hearty on its own with plenty of meat and meat juices! Service and friendliness is nowhere. It was very straight up, give me your order or step aside type service. Finally got to try birria landia after eyeing it for over 2 years (I'm not a local). Stopped by the Williamsburg location on a Sunday afternoon shortly after they opened, and there was no line. Our food came out quickly and was delicious. We got the tacos, mulita, and consumme. The tacos do NOT come with cheese like I'm used to with other birria spots. The mulita has cheese, but is presented more like a quesadilla. Both were great, as was the consumme. Highly recommend! read more

Birria Landia is an amazing food truck. Never thought my current favorite Birria would be from a truck but this place is so damn consistent. So far I've tried everything on the menu, and it's all great. I mean tbh the taco, mulita, and tostada are all sort of similar yet slightly different shells for the Birria. The consome is perfectly cooked too. I've been here about 5 or 6 times now and it's been equally consistent every single time. As a Hispanic male from south texas where flavor is everything, eating these tacos is pretty disappointing, after the fresh onion, cilantro and cheese there really isn't any flavor, the meat is tender but flavorless, salted well, but birria meat should be heavily spiced so that it stands on its own. Was in the mood for tacos and wanted to try this food truck for so long, so we drove here. New and impeccably clean food truck advertising the tacos bd celebrating their many write ups. Walked right up, despite at least 15ppl already there who were apparently waiting for their order. Lady at a register outside of the truck takes order and payment. You get a ticket in return and wait for your order to be called. I think I waited 5-7minutes, got my order and went home. The tacos were AMAZING!! So meaty and the taste of the culantro was perfect. Preferred the consommé was which perfect accompaniment for the tacos. A small was enough for the 3 tacos I ordered. Everyone who lives in Williamsburg tells me I should check this place so I did. I came here on a Wednesday night for dinner with a group of 3 people. We ordered the tacos and mulitas. I was so impressed by how professional the truck was. There's line dividers and umbrellas while you wait on line. The guy that called out the order numbers has a headset. They accept credit cards. They give you a ticket with your order number when you place your order. Surprisingly, when I came here, there was no wait. The tacos and mulitas were so delicious and flavorful. It's not often enough that places live up to their hype, or make you feel like the ridiculously long line you just waited on was worth the wait, but this lauded taco truck delivers all this and then some. There are no words for how good the consommé broth is--rich and flavorful and unctuous, with chunks of succulent beef. More of a stew consistency (and level of how filling it feels), it is simply a must order. Dipping your tacos in here is dangerous--you won't want to go back to something different, no matter how excellent your consommé-less tacos are. Everything else I've tried is excellent as well--quesadilla in particular. However, it feels a challenge and seems almost a waste of valuable stomach space not to get the broth and tacos. As noted, lines can get really long, whether lunch or dinner or with late night revelers. But they operate quickly and efficiently. Order the small size if you're sharing with a person. The large size would be suitable for 3+ people. The tostada is relatively small as well. Or maybe because it's the original truck. But it just didn't hit the same way. Again, it's still a good taco. And the "consomme" is great. Giant chunks of meat inside, so more of a stew. Birria Landia's been on the scene, well over a year now, and you still need to visit the spot as they open to avoid waiting on line. Actually I got there at 5pm on a Thursday in a slight drizzle and there were already a few people ahead of me. I can only imagine what the wait time would be like in the summer. Instead of the tacos, my heart reached out for the mulitas because y'know I can't resist a good special. But whatever you choose, the must have item is the consume. If you patron any birria spot without getting the birria, it's like why did you even bother coming here?.. Or even getting out of bed?.. You're making some serious poor life choices. I've had birria tacos at another well known spot before and I have heard that Birria Landia adjusted their recipe for the American palette. All I have to say is, if you're gonna bitch about authenticity, the door is right there. The real adults can make a valid decision about how to spend their dollars on their preferences. Anywho, yes their consume is savory af. The rich red hue of the broth matches your expectations. Compared to the other spot, this was much deeper in flavor. For those of you unfamiliar with the mulita, it's whatever fillings sandwiched between two tortilla and then pan-fried. It's whatever meat you choose and cheese. What really stood out was how cohesive the dish was, physically. Normally, eating any variation of taco, you have to brace yourself to avoid spilling any of the fillings. Somehow, the cheese was strategically placed enough insulate all of the meat. The chef has a real future in architecture. My only gripe is the fact that the only place to enjoy all of this beautiful is in the park across the street, where you have to look over your shoulder every 3 minutes to watch out for any homeless people who'll be tempted by your food. read more
