This is our first time trying food in this place. This restaurant is a all vegetarian Indian food and have really great options. They have a lot of vegan options as well. They do dine-in and carryout. They are located in the allisonville road area. This is not your traditional restaurant where you enter and then you wait to be seated, you actually have to go up to the counter and then look at the menu available and order what you need to order from there and pay right there. Once you have completed your order and payment, you'll be given a kind of like a token number and you choose a table you want to sit at and the food will be brought to your table. The inside decor is very pleasant and the colors are nice as well. They have a huge parking in the front of the restaurant. They are good for business, casual and family friendly. This is a definite place to try if you are in for Indian Street food.

Ended up getting the Phool Makhana Bhel (roasted lotus seeds) as a crunchy, mildly spicy appetizer, which was delicious, and a generous portion. (Deeply flavorful spices, wonderful crunch.) Went with the dal (yellow lentil soup) and ghee-free crispy methi roti (fenugreek leaf spiced flatbread) for my main -- both were deeply satisfying and powerfully flavorful, as well as very filling. My friend's goat biryani was apparently terrific (according to her); we ate a pile of food, but still ended up taking containers home. For the record: medium spice was juuuuuuuust right -- didn't make the eyes water, but had a mild bit of a bite. Super interesting menu, even for vegans! Will have to try dinner here in future.

I opted to enjoy mine the traditional way but it sounds like a fun option for vodka enjoyers! Butter chicken: 6/10 -- a little low for ME personally. Not trying to hate! I have had a fair share of delicious butter chicken and this was not as good as some of the others I have tried. It was just too sweet for my liking, although we did order a medium spice level. I think that anyone who did not grow up eating indian food would enjoy this very much so don't let my scale influence you on this specific dish. Cumin rice comes with the butter chicken! Garlic naan: 10/10 -- perfectly garlicky! flaky, buttery, and delicious!! Plenty of parking is available in the lot out front. When I went, the lounge/bar side of the space was still under construction but it should be open now! I need to revisit to check out some of the snack/drink options. Service was non existent so don't expect much there but it was not bad since we were just a table of 2.

The interior was surprisingly large and nice (table cloths, flowers, glasswear.) The Bollywood (rap/rock) music videos on the TVs seemed a little out of sorts with the nicer ambiance, but it was easy to ignore the TVs. Service was extremely pleasant & efficient. We had the samosa appetizer, garlic naan, hubs had the chicken tikka and I had the tandoori veg momos. Aromas & flavors on everything was very nice. They also have a $16.99 lunch buffet that we are eager to come back & try. #yum #ReviewsByRL

I ordered takeout and when I got home I saw that the "steamed" momos were burnt to a crisp and dried out. I also ordered masala noodles and it was literally just spaghetti with a sweet tomato sauce. Absolutely no masala flavor, and the fact that they used regular spaghetti noodles was baffling and unappetizing. I called the restaurant and the person on the phone said "yeah there is a problem with the steamer, we will replace them". I asked why they would look at this burnt appetizer and still send it, because that feels super dishonest- they knew it was inedible but because it was a takeout order, they decided to serve it anyways. He couldn't answer that. They told me to bring the momos back and they'd replace them. I said no, I've just worked 13 hours and will not be driving another 20 minutes to go back to their restaurant. I'd like a refund. He said that's not possible and offered to give me a free meal next time we came in. I said there will not be a next time as their dishonesty was seriously off-putting and I'd like a refund and again he said that's not possible. I'm attaching their advertised photos of the 2 dishes I ordered and also pictures of what they served me.

Idk if the ambiance has ever been great here as its inside is not pretty & the bathroom is very gross & never clean. The 2 orders of Chicken Makhani I received today tasted so strongly of WAY too much ghee to where I couldn't even taste anything else. It was lacking proper flavor & the chicken was very, very dry and tasted old. Super disappointing. I send people to this place allllll the time, but not anymore. The raita was the absolute worst part of my meal. I paid $5 extra for 2 things of raita & had to throw both away because they were SO bad! I don't know why, but it was so excessively full of black pepper that I honestly almost puked. Not only that, it tasted very, VERY strongly of green pepper. Raita is NEVER supposed to have green pepper & I honestly couldn't tell if that was the issue or if it was actually expired/rotten. I was super excited for this food & it was so incredibly disappointing especially because it wasn't cheap...huge decline in food quality & definitely not worth the price.

This is a…read morebrand new Indian restaurant in a strip mall across from Castleton Square, and the ambiance is very nice and clean with wonderful Bollywood music playing in the seating area, and a very unique water fountain in the lobby area. The service was wonderful and terrific. The woman behind the counter took very good care of our group and answered all of our questions on the menu items. The menu was very diverse and had a lot of items that I did not recognize, so I did ask a lot of questions. I ended up getting the hot and sour soup and the paneer tikki marsala with jeera rice and garlic naan. I had the masala tea to drink with my meal. Other people ordered curry dishes and Indian platter with chutney. A couple people ordered an Indian drink which was very different and unusual, and I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the drink, but it looked like Greek salad dressing, and it did have an unusual taste to it. It was not horrible and I could drink it if I had to, but I probably would not order it again if I was back at Honest. Overall, the food was excellent and terrific. I will say the hot and sour soup is the hottest soup I have ever had in my life! If you order the hot and sour soup, be prepared to drink a lot of water and have your sinuses cleared in an instant! It is extremely hot, but it is excellent at the same time. You definitely need to sip this soup carefully and not take full spoonfuls at once. The paneer tikki marsala was heaven in my mouth and it paired very well with the jeera rice and garlic naan bread. The garlic naan bread was very fluffy and tasted perfect in my mouth. It was the best garlic naan bread I have had from an Indian restaurant. The Marsala tea was fantastic and paired very well with the meal. Everyone was very satisfied with their meal, though some could not handle the spiciness of their entrees. Be aware when you order your entree or sides at Honest, that the spicy level is not like any other Indian restaurants in Indy. I recommend mild level of spicy when you order an entree at Honest. Otherwise, your mouth will be on fire LOL! You will still be satisfied regardless with your meal because the food is excellent and high quality. This was a great Indian restaurant in Indy, so everyone needs to come check it out because it is worth it and the ambiance is very relaxing. The complimentary water station in the seating area is a nice touch and well worth it because you will need water with your meal. Honest Indianapolis is worth the price and experience, so come check it out and try something new. You will not be disappointed!

Yes there is water from a water cooler, BUT with teeny tiny cups that are maybe 3 inches tall. You can get some other drinks such as specialty drinks or canned/bottled things from the fridge. On the other hand, despite being a carnivore, I thoroughly enjoyed the food here. For starters I had the hot and sour soup... yeah I know, not exactly Indian, but Indo-chino. It was different than expected, but very good. Actually a bit spicy and seemed to have ginger pieces in it along with a lot of unindentifible things and absolutely delicious. I tried the Bhaji Pav, which is ... well I really have no idea, but it comes with a large dish of goodness, seems to maybe have lentils or chickpeas in it. It's pureed and has a wonderful spice combination, maybe a hint of curry, but not spicy at all. Comes with finely chopped onions, a lime wedge and 2 soft buttered buns. I would definitely order this again. The most impressive looking dish was the Thali, basically a sampler dish, which has naan, a savory yoghurt based drink, several cups of various dishes and even a little dessert. I might get that next time to explore more of the options here. And as I already mentioned, the staff is very sweet and patiently explained the different dishes to my group. With 8 of us not having any clue, I have to say, this lady had the patience of a a saint.
