This is now my favorite Indian restaurant in the area. It's clean with a modern twist. The interior decor is bright and full of different colors on the walls along with portraits of traditional Indian culture. I came for lunch earlier today and enjoyed their buffet spread. The buffet is from 11am-3pm at $20 pp. the buffet bar is pretty small but does have the main items such as grilled tandoori chicken, butter chicken, chicken curry, biryanis, and a few other traditional Indian dishes. They do have a sauce bar with some salad and one dessert porridge. I will say, I wish they had goat curry (vindaloo) and some fried items like pakoora and samosas. For dessert, I do wish they had gulab jamun and jalebi as a standard. Most Indian buffets I've been to, carry these items. I tried most of everything and they were each good tasting. I'm a big fan of their tandoori chicken because it's freshly grilled and really tasty. I wasn't a big fan of their butter naan; their version of naan is more like a baked pita which threw me off. I'm used to the long traditional stone oven baked naan with burnet holes, etc. I also wish they served ice as normal rather than asking for it because the water is really like warm which was not pleasing. Overall, I really like this place. Their service is nice and very welcoming. For $20, this buffet is a steal. I'd love to actually come back for dinner and try other entrees. I'll be back! read more

We've come here twice and both times were good. The service is fast and friendly. The decor is mix of old school and modern. The only issue we've run into both times is not all items are available from the menu during certain times. The Gobi Manchurian is great. We love the Chicken Tikka Masala. I think our family favorite is the Saag Paneer. Everything has a decent level of spice without being overbearing. We enjoy the overall experience and will definitely be back. read more

I ordered Mirchi Bajji and took three orders to a party, and unfortunately it turned out to be very embarrassing. The whole chili was simply dipped in batter and fried. It was not slit or prepared the traditional way. As a result, the chilies were extremely spicy, and all the guests who ate them felt their mouths were on fire. I felt very bad serving this to my guests. I have attached a photo for reference so others can see the preparation. I genuinely like to encourage and promote local restaurants, and I was even considering bringing ten of my friends here for the buffet. However, after this experience, I am now unsure. read more

Brentwood has a number of dining options tucked away in random strip malls, rather than having a concentration of all the good eateries downtown. I've learned to explore those options, and through that, found Biryani Pot, located in the same lot as a Safeway. On a chilly spring night, some warm and spicy food was what I craved. The interior is cool with colorful walls and ample seating. I ordered the yellow dal and veggie samosas along with garlic naan. Portions were huge with plenty of leftovers. The dal was not too spicy and full of flavor. My boyfriend ordered chicken tikka masala (pictured) and overall, we both really enjoyed dining here. Hubby and I had the lunch specials with mango lassies. The food came out quickly and was decently priced. We were able to choose our appetizers and main dishes. There was a mistake with one of the meals but the waiter brought the correct dish after. Hubby chose the paneer masala with mixed vegetable pakora and I ordered the butter chicken with the chicken 65 appetizer. The chicken 65 was the star of the meal. We asked for everything to be mild. The chicken 65 was perfectly seasoned with the right amount of crunch. The paneer masala was the mildest in spice. Next was the chicken curry. The butter chicken was the spiciest despite asking for all the dishes to be mild. The mango lassies were too small for the price. The naan was slightly crispy on the outside but softer inside. The moment we walked through the door, there was a random table set up like someone was about to start a food demo. Next to that, a grown man was passed out in a booth. Then, across from us, a woman kicked off her shoes and settled in with her phone. Not exactly the vibe you want from a dinner spot. We ordered anyway and hoped for the best. The food came out... and wow. The naan tasted store-bought, the butter chicken had maybe four pieces of chicken if you squint, and everything was just painfully mediocre. But the real kicker was being completely ignored for twenty minutes after we finished eating. There were at least four staff members standing around chatting while we sat there waiting. We enjoyed the food here for sure. I liked the Malai Kofta, although it was not as creamy as I prefer. My husband liked the Butter Chicken and it had a good flavor profile. Just ordered through uber eats and everything was delicious! Posted a picture of everything we ordered. The biryani rice is so flavorful, the dal makhani (lentils) was equally as good but I did end up adding some salt to mine, lamb curry was probably our favorite. We also ordered the tandoori chicken and it did not disappoint! Garlic naan was of course good. I asked my driver if she would grab us whatever their house hot sauce was and if they had a yogurt sauce to grab that too. Both were delicious! The hot sauce reminds me of a chimichurri! Terrible customer service, and horribly disorganized. Arrived at 1pm for lunch, waited in line for 10 minutes, and no one approached us. Went to the counter, asked for assistance but was ignored. Five more minutes passed by, and was eventually told the waiter would help. No one approached us for another 5 minutes then the waiter told us to wait another 5 minutes before he can help. We've been genuinely excited about Biryani Pot opening in the Brentwood area over the past year, especially as vegetarians looking for consistent, ethnic Indian food nearby. We've supported the restaurant regularly, including frequent DoorDash orders, and have continued to give it multiple chances through what appear to be several transitions menu changes, pricing shifts, and operational adjustments. Today, three of us visited for the lunch buffet around 2:00 PM. The staff was friendly and courteous, which we appreciate, and we recognize that running a restaurant particularly an Indian buffet is not easy. However, the overall value proposition fell short. The total came to roughly $75 post-tip for three people, and for that price, the buffet offering felt quite limited and basic. Several items were cold when we arrived. While the salad, desserts, oranges, lemon rice, and dal makhani were good (the dal being decent and typical), there was little depth or variety beyond that. We were unable to get a second serving of paneer masala, and naan took 15 minutes to arrive by which point we were essentially finished eating. The restaurant was not very busy, yet it felt understaffed and operationally stretched. Napkins were not readily available, service flow was uneven, and overall coordination felt inefficient. For a buffet experience at this price point, the expectations around responsiveness and organization are naturally higher. There is clearly a lot of room for improvement. We hope the restaurant reflects carefully on the direction it wants to take with the buffet both in terms of pricing and offerings. Bringing back more dishes, improving food temperature consistency, and tightening service fundamentals would go a long way. We genuinely want Biryani Pot to succeed and plan to continue giving it chances. That said, with growing competition in the Brentwood and Tri-Delta Valley area, improving quality, cleanliness, and the overall dining experience will be critical. Based on today's experience, this visit lands at 2 to 2.5 stars, with hope for meaningful improvement ahead. read more

The food here was delicious but our dining experience was very strange. It may have been because we arrived two hours before closing, but we were told that they did not have any rice. I was mislead by a photo of the menu that another Yelp user had posted, which stated that all entrees came with rice and a choice of bread. We also confirmed with the owner that our entrees would come with rice but when the food was brought out we only received our curry and naan. The naan was at an additional cost. I got the chicken curry and chicken tikka masala. Both were very good and had a nice kick of spice to it. The naan paired well. They also have a garlic naan available. I would recommend ordering for takeout rather than dining in. The food is phenomenal but the dining experience felt unwelcome. There were multiple tables that were not cleaned or were lacking silverware. I will definitely be coming back and ordering for take out but I will never be dining in person again. read more

Absolutely no complaints here. I came in with my little brother in law whom had never had Indian cuisine and it's safe to say we both were in love. The flavor and the spices were just I would however rate the mango lassi an 8/10 I feel like it could have been a little better but over all the food was so good. Amazing food and service! Only thing I'd take out of my review was the chai (as it was on the bitter side if you like that). Wasn't my cup of chai but outside of this the food was outstanding! I tried the chicken thigh, chana dal, and the vegetable pakora, for apps! The chicken leg was incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and beautifully balanced with just the right blend of spices. The chana dal complemented it so well, and the flavors were rich without being overpowering. The vegetable pakora was crispy and flavorful. We came right when they opened for a kid free lunch date. We got the lunch special and it didn't disappoint. I don't eat much and I don't eat gluten so it was filling for me. My husband ate the most of it and ordered 3 naans ( regular and garlic). We even took some food home. Mango lassi were delicious we ordered 1 initially and ordered a 2nd to go. The curries are so flavorful it hit the spot. I was excited to see a new Indian restaurant open up! However, this is like the Tasty Temptations restaurant before it. This one is a Nepalese Indian style food it seems again. So Indians, Pakistanis and Punjabis know the different styles of cooking, so giving a heads up so they know. I ordered saag paneer and Dahl makhani. The Dahl tarka they were out of which I wanted to try. Saag is different not like your typical Indian dark green saag( spinach). More like a dull olive green with paneer. I normally like this kind of saag( especially good with corn roti), but this was not that good. I will give a 2.5 stars- it was just ok. I usually like the darker saag better and a mustard green saag is normally a favorite dish of mine. The Dahl makhani barely had any Dahl but mainly sauce/gravy in a tomato curry mixture. I don't know if there was just not much actual dahl( beans) put into it or it was blended and disintegrated into the thick sauce and watered down. So 2 stars. My husband is Punjabi and was so enthusiastic to try the Dahls ( one of his favorite dishes) and saag, but was disappointed. I told him it is called Biriyani Pot so they may be known for their biriyanis instead? He is not into rice( he likes his roti), but I like rice! So hopefully those will be better and if we try it I will update the review to give my honest opinion. As for the saag and Dahl makhani just giving you a heads up, maybe try the other dishes instead? For two tubs, we paid 27.00 and really didn't think the food was worth it unfortunately. And what Indian restaurant doesn't have chai- it would be a nice touch to offer free chai or even to pay for as some other customer was asking, but they didn't have it? With Indian Restaurants, you always have to ask "If it is Fresh and not from earler in the day or day before".We went in the evening and asked If Biryani was Fresh and not from the morning. They lied and said it is always Fresh and it was not! It tasted a day old. we decided to give them another chance the next Day and decided to order the " 2 pcs of Tandori Chicken Leg Quarters " on their Door Dash menu for $9.97. when we picked up the order, we decided to look inside, it only had ONE piece, when we went back inside and showed the one piece, we were told you only get ONE piece of Leg Quarter for $8.99 plus Tax & Door Dash charges of 0.99. That is almost $10.00 for a .50 cent piece of chicken from The "Restaurant Depot". We do not mind paying the $10.00 for what is in the pictures (2 pcs) and also it says Leg Quarters.
