We contacted Noah's Ark Animal Hospital (which is also our regular vet) to see if they had any input on getting an An International Health Certificate (IHC). Which is a required document for traveling with pets internationally, ensuring they are healthy and free of diseases or parasites. We had a trip planned to Poland with a layover in Amsterdam, traveling via KLM airlines. We received an email back promptly from Armando Chavez, who ended up researching EVERYTHING! Not only did he put our minds at ease for the travel but he patiently and willingly answered every single email we had. We set up the appointment to begin the process. Everything went smooth and according to plan. Armando did not miss a beat, he kept us in the loop throughout the whole process. We didn't have any issues at the airport with any of the paperwork. Armando was even kind enough to let us know of extra documents needed coming back from Poland to the United States. I cannot recommend this veterinarian enough. They are extremly knowledgeable, patient and really on top of it all. We are clients for life and would recommend taking your pets here for anything necessary. This place deserves a million stars.

After emergency surgery and through an eight-week long healing process, every single person at Midtown played an instrumental role in his recovery. So much so, that I know for a fact that the injury and impact would have been so much worse had it not been for Midtown's attentiveness and patience. Unfortunately I had to put my senior dog down approx just a bit over a week after the visit due to what I believe was a heavy prescription dose. I was bringing my 16+ yr old dog to this vet for librela injections the past few months since moving back to town. I knew my buddy was wearing down, but beyond slow walking from arthritis, he wasn't showing any other major signs. The last visit I scheduled was to have an honest conversation with the dr about end of life and signs to look out for since it was my first time going through this. I knew the dr Cagle was out of town on holiday, and I specifically asked for an experienced dr to meet. I showed up to the appointment, only to be met by a dr who in my best description seemed "sedated"... she looked hung over/out of it, she showed no empathy or care about the situation, struggled to form coherent sentences, and provided absolutely no good information, and after about a minute or two of looking at my dog (first time) was ready to walk out. I pointed out to the dr my dog had some skin rashes (which she barely looked at) and had been diagnosed with early kidney disease a couple of years ago, but no major progression. She prescribed 300mg gabapentin twice daily and carprofen 100mg every other day if gabapentin didn't work. I wasn't sure why but she suggested it would alleviate any lingering pain. Also amoxicillin for skin rashes. (I learned later that this dr was a temp and on "benadryl" ) I followed dosage instructions and woke up the next day to an unresponsive dog (He was given his last gabapentin the night before around midnight). I thought he was dead. Had urinated his bed and was just dead weight with his tongue hanging out of his mouth. I had to monitored him for the following 36-48 hrs, and he never fully regained complete mobility of his limbs or could hold weight. He seemed super disoriented at all times. I seeked advice from other local doctors who all seemed to agree these were heavy doses for a senior dog with potential kidney disease, as these meds are hard on the kidneys. I must say dr Cagle did reach out about this situation during his trip, after I voiced my displeasure with the visit to the staff. He stuck to this being proper treatment, and said he would follow up on dec 19th when back in town. My dog had to be put down on dec 22nd... and I never received any follow up to even see how he was doing....

Because she's had so many surgeries I've come to witness that many vet clinics are impatient with her anxiety and fail to see her true personality, which can completely melt someone's heart if they only took a moment to look at her. That is exactly what this group did. They exhibited exactly what community should feel like; every person and every living being... seen. And I have to give major props and appreciation to that lovely human being working the front desk. Their energy and kindness speaks volumes and it's like an invisible layer that blankets the waiting room. I am on VA Disability, and made an appointment for my two dogs to get a rabies shot each. That was all that was needed. Well, having to utilize public transportation, I had to take my two boys on the bus. Unfortunately, that day, it was thunderstorming. So, having to walk a half mile to the bus stop, I tried calling to cancel the appointment or at the very least move it back to until the rain subsided, but no one ever answers the phone, so, I had to trek the half-mile because I couldn't afford to lose the $50 and then have to pay another $50 deposit to reschedule. Long story short, my $100 trip turned into $400 because the vetenarian assistant told me he could not give the rabies vaccination for both dogs unless they were up to day on their other vaccinations and a heartworm test was done on each, so, being pressured to get them, I agreed. THIS IS HOW SNAP HOUSTON DOES BUSINESS!! They con their clients to get things done that don't need to be done. Furthermore, the next day, they emailed me the invoice and I noticed that they charged me $7.00 donation fee on both of my boys invoices that I did NOT authorize. I sent an email to Mr. John Street, the general manager and he basically called me a liar and then told me to find another clinic. DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS TO THIS CLINIC BECAUSE THEY ARE DECEIVING, CONNING, RUDE, AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!
