Tonight we celebrated a trifecta (First day of summer, Stage 2 outdoors dining and Father's Day) at this restaurant. We were last here a year ago. We were greeted by Visar one of the owners and were wisk to our table al fresco. Our waiter Wilson read us the special. As a starter, one of our friends ordered the lobster bisque soup. The rest had the Caprese Salad (Fresh mozzarella, tomato, roasted peppers, basil). As an entree, I had the special - grouper (fish) oregonata with sautéed spinach, fried potato ball and steamed vegetables. My partner also had the special - chicken pasta with fettuccine in a mushroom cream sauce. One of our friends had the special consisting of lobster tails with rice and mixed vegetables. Our other friend had crab meat with avocado salad. Sometimes during dinner, the chef Richard who's the other owner came around to chat with us. I had al fresco dinner many moons ago in NYC which brought back many great memories. There were other patrons. The food was fresh and outstanding. No bad comments here. The al fresco was amazing as the weather cooperated nicely tonight. We can highly recommend this place. read more

Extremely disappointed in the places customer service. I went here a few times before the name change, and the food was always very good, so I decided to book them for a special event in our family. I booked a lunch for after my sons upcoming Communion for 4/29. I booked a reservation for 15 people and now 5 days before they called to cancel. They said the only way I could keep my reservation was if I sat outside. Keep in mind I made this reservation 2 months ago, invitations made, etc! Oh and even better- the temperature may be a high of 55 on Sunday. Are they insane?! Absolutely terrible! Visiting family in NJ and decided to try this place based on the reviews. It is close to my parents house on Moonachie Ave. A cute quaint Italian restaurant. The staff are friendly and welcoming. They have a pre-fixe menu for $18.95 or $23 depending on what you order. That comes with an appetizer, soap or salad, entree and dessert. The menu is large with a variety of options. You can get pasta, steak, a burger, seafood. We ordered the burrata and the chicken meatballs for an appetizer. The burrata was good it came with brosciutto. The chicken meatballs were ok, I would have liked to taste more breadcrumbs. I ordered the eggplant rollatini for my appetizer. It was flavorful and fresh. The soup of the day was cream of chicken which was really tasty and light. They are known for their short ribs. I encouraged my hubby to order it. He did, and loved it! He said the meat was very tender. It came with mashed potatoes and veggies. My Dad ordered oysters and clams. He liked them but complained that there wasn't a lemon when he received the clams. He also ordered the Seafood risotto with pink sauce and he liked it. The seafood was fresh and the pink sauce had a nice flavor. My brother ordered the burger. He ordered it medium well but it was medium rare. He sent it back and they remade it with a set of fresh steak fries. The steak fries were really tasty. My Mom ordered the pork chop. She said it was dry and didn't care for it. I ordered the mushroom risotto for my main course. It was flavorful and the risotto was cooked well. The staff gave us complimentary limoncello which I thought was nice. It is made by the owner. All in all a good place to dine. If it wasn't for the undercooked burger and the dry pork chops this place would have gotten 4 stars. read more

I went to a communion party and the food, ambiance and service were all great. When I left I realized my daughter left her clear retainers there and thought they were gone. The manager and waiter went above and beyond to look for them in the linens and they found them. That kind of customer service is virtually unheard of these days and I am forever grateful. The food is wonderful, and the portions are a good size for the price. We tried everything from the pasta to Skirt Steak to seafood! The only down fall is their dessert. My wife & I really enjoyed dinner here, although the specials sounded great, we just couldn't pass up the prix fix deal. My wife had mozzarella in corroza for an app & I had mussels in white broth. Then a salad which was very good. For entree i had filet of sole francese and my wife had the chicken marsala, both were very good and the portions were large, large enough for lunch the next day. I only came here because my co-worker moonlights here as a bartender. I felt bad for her because she always emails, text, and facebook her friends to come visit her. My friend was having a bad week so I suggested we pay my co-worker a visit and grab a drink. We also share appetizers because I glow red when I drink. The Asian calamari is over sauced and too salty to taste anything. I would never would have gone there if my co-worker didn't work there. Really like this place. you get a whole lot for reasonable price. Every meal I ever order I enjoy. Very nice size portions, most often I am taking something home. I love their house salad, the dressing is yummy. Visar has been a waiter there for several years, we really enjoy his conversation too. We hosted a surprise 70th Birthday party here last night, and we're very happy how it turned out! I've hosted and attended many parties at numerous restaurants, and the outstanding service by the staff was exceptional. Literally the pitchers of soda, buckets of beers, wine, etc. were replenished almost immediately. The food was delicious (bolognese sauce to die for!), and they way they timed everything to come out flowed seamlessly. My daughter has a food allergy, and without any hesitation the waiter offered to get her ice cream for her dessert...that was very kind! We had about 25 people in a private area, and it was very comfortable and no one felt on top of one other. Very accommodating in allowing you to drop off items beforehand and will set it up for you as well. Overall, very happy with our experience here!! read more

Found this place on Yelp and based on reviews decided to try it. Food and service were excellent and will definitely return! Funny thing was I called ahead to find out if a reservation was needed. It was a Saturday evening. The gentleman who answered just said ok but from the feeling of the conversation I don't think we needed one for less than ten people lol. In any event he said "ok 3 people no problem, see you at 8". I was like "but wait don't you need my name?" And he said "I have caller ID". LOL-LOL. Service was great. I had the sangria and it was ok but it's not a favorite drink of mine so I switched to wine and was very happy. We ordered the short rib (which is their #1 dish) -- DELICIOUS!! served over mashed potato and veggies. Also ordered the cheese ravioli and shrimp scampi which were all very delicious. I came here for the 1st with my wife on Valentine's Day. We have lived down the street for a few years now but had yet to make our way here, so we figured that Valentine's Day was the perfect opportunity. We were greeted by a very friendly man at the door and immediately shown to our table being that we had reservations. Our waiter then gave us our menus which were fixed menus for the holidays...this is to be expected obviously. For appetizers we had the stuffed mushrooms and eggplant rollatini which were both excellent. The house salads that we were served before our main course left a little to be desired but then again they were house salads so one can't really complain. For main course I had the Prime Rib and my wife had Chicken Francese, both with a side of steamed vegetables and a potato croquette. We both tried a little of each other's main course and both of them were perfect, especially the prime rib which was cooked exactly as requested. For dessert we split the steakhouse-style cheesecake which was very good except for the middle being a little on the frozen side. All in all, I would definitely recommend this restaurant and we cannot wait to go back again when they have their full menu available. read more

My girlfriend and I went here for our 7 month anniversary after being curious about the restaurant across the street from Bazzarelli's We ordered the pre-fixed 4 course menu for $20 and came away very impressed by the food but puzzled at the same time with the place as I will explain: Food: 4 and a half stars: For the first course, I had the Mozzarella Corozza and my girlfriend had their version of stuffed mushrooms. The Corozza was excellent and tasted like a deep fried grilled cheese sandwich. It came with a marinara sauce that was very flavorful but a little too salty. WAY BETTER THAN BAZARELLI ACROSS THE STREET! It was a huge portion which I shared with my girlfriend who also liked it. Very good appetizer which I will get again. My girlfriend liked the stuffed mushrooms but wasn't thrilled with it. I tried it and thought it was good but slightly off. It tasted slightly overcooked and the caramelized onion filling had a few too many bread crumbs with it. I like the traditional stuffed crabmeat filling. For the second course, we got a salad and had no complaints. Salad was fresh and was a HUGE portion. I got the house Italian dressing which I was impressed with. Had a balsamic undertone yet was light and refreshing. I was impressed with the salad. For our entrees, I ordered the Chicken Parm with a side of pasta while my girlfriend ordered the baked Ziti with meatballs. The chicken Parm was very good. HUGE PORTION! They gave me 2 big pieces of chicken with a lot of cheese on top but not so much where you can't see the chicken LOL. Chicken was breaded and cooked perfectly and the marinara sauce was still too salty but it was the right ratio of chicken to sauce to cheese. It was textbook chicken parm. I couldn't finish it. Not the best I have ever had, but VERY GOOD and worth getting. When the waiter brought out my girlfriends baked ziti, I stopped and admired it. It was ENORMOUS. They literally put so much cheese on it that you could not see the pasta underneath. It was the size of a hubcap. I'm not kidding! When I tasted it, I was blown away. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the amount of cheese in it was staggering. It's by far the best baked Ziti I have ever tasted. When I come back here, I will be ordering it. My girlfriend also really liked it and ended up taking it home. She will have happy leftovers for 3 days LOL The meatballs that came with it were the best I have ever had next to my mother's. They were moist and tender and fell apart. Had a good amount of garlic which I like and were to die for. For desert, we each got ice Cream which was a perfect complement to the meal. Service: 4 and a half stars: The restaurant is empty so we were seated promptly and by ourselves as opposed to shoved in one place. The servers immediately filled our glasses with water. The wait staff was polite bordering on formal. My soda was constantly being refilled. Overall they were a courteous and professional wait staff. My own complaint is that one of the waiters was a little hard to understand and they don't really speak English that well. Otherwise, they were very good. Atmosphere: 3 1/2 stars. We all remember Sesame Street right? Remember these Lyrics from one of the songs? "One of these things is not like the other; one of these things just doesn't belong" I do and it sums up my feelings about the atmosphere: Upon entering, you have this beautiful restaurant that looks like a traditional Spanish restaurant. It's beautiful and immaculate with sconces on the wall, dark maroon backdrops and clear white tablecloths. The waiters are dressed up in tuxedos adding a touch of class to the restaurant. But upon closer inspection, you notice a few unusual eyesores that stand out, that like the Sesame Street lyrics just don't belong. There is a bright skylight in the middle of the restaurant that has no business being there. I have no idea how it got there or even why it's there but its takes away from the otherwise impressive décor. Then they have a bar area which again looks very elegant with dark oak paneling and an impressive selection of drinks but then you notice wooden ropes much like you find at a dock literally acting like a bouncer ropes at a bar. HUH? Seriously, they have these wooden ropes that seriously make it seem you are going to a tiki bar just without the straw hats LOL. It is really really weird. Verdict: I was very pleased with this restaurant. If you put the strange eyesores aside, it is a high quality, 4 and a half star restaurant that I am surprised got less than stellar reviews from other reviewers. We went to Dolce Novita for its pre-fixed dinner (4 courses for about $20!!!) on a Sunday night, and were a little concerned to find the restaurant's parking lot nearly empty. We were greeted immediately by men in tuxedos and escorted to a table appropriately spaced away from the few other patrons to afford us some privacy. Our drink orders were immediately taken and the drinks were brought to our table. For appetizers, I ordered the stuffed mushrooms and he had the mozzarella corozza. Being allergic to shellfish, I was thrilled to be able to order stuffed mushrooms finally! They were quite yummy. The mozzarella corozza was completely awesome, perfectly crispy with mozzarella pouring out of it. It was accompanied by a tomato sauce that I found wonderful, although it may be too salty for a lot of people. For the second course, we each had a wonderful mixed greens salad... nothing too special, but very nice. My entree was the baked ziti with meatballs. Both were just spectacular. It may have been difficult to find the pasta under all the bubbly, melty, cheesy goodness, but that's not a criticism! The meatballs were among the best I've ever had too, although they were missing something that I couldn't quite put my finger on. My boyfriend had the chicken parm, which was really good but not quite as awesome as my pasta. His was accompanied by a giant bowl of fettuccine with marinara. The portions were huge. Borderline ridiculous, but again, this is not a criticism. We both have at least 2 days of lunch as leftovers. And we both chose the ice cream for dessert before we rolled home. With drinks and tip, we spent about $60, which was a huge bargain. Service was terrific straight through, and was not at all imposing. I went on Yelp and saw a good selection of eateries. I chose Bistro 107 because of the menu. Oyster Rockefeller and Fillet Mignon. I thought I had my mind made up. I get to the place walk in and you know it's going to be great because of the smells and the cleanliness. I take a seat at the bar and Visar the bartender comes and reads off the specials. One caught my stomach. It was a Flintstones like short rib. I was torn between that and the filet but I went with the short rib and let me tell you it was a great choice. For an appetizer I had the Oysters Rockefeller the cleanliness of the oysters the spinach and the seasoning that they put into the Oyster Rockefeller made them taste like the something I've never had before. This short rib which seems like your grandmother had made of it was so soft and tender it came with a steak knife but you had no need for it. Also the short rib was on top of a bed of mashed potatoes and a great vegetable medley steamed and fresh. I capped off my meal with 12 year Macallan and an espresso To Richard the owner thank you for your hospitality thank you for talking me into the short rib and as soon as I get back down to New Jersey you will see me again. What a surprise this place was. We went off of the recommendation of a friend. The place doesn't look especially inviting from the outside. In fact it looks like its shut down but its open. The dining room was a surprise because it has windows and a large skylight which nicely illuminates the space. Service was very good. Salmon Dijon is excellent. Potato croquettes are delicious. Location -- If you are familiar with Moonachie, the restaurant is essentially across from Segovia, a Spanish Restaurant in town. Venue - The restaurant is large and has multiple rooms which are comfortable with good atmosphere. You will not be embarrassed if haven't been here before and you take people out. It's a nice looking place on the inside. While some things are dated, overall, it has a good feel to it. Food - We enjoyed the food and the portions were of good size. Service - Our issues were more from a service/cost perspective. We visited on a holiday when the pre-fixe menu is not available. Our table had an extra chair which when we noted that it wasn't needed, the waiter said with an attitude that it was no problem to have it taken away. When ordering our first course, the waiter made a mistake. The waiter said that it was ordered, but it wasn't. After a little haggle, he said it was no problem to get the one we ordered. It didn't take long for it to come out and it was very good. He kind of pushed wine more than we would have liked. When the bill came, there were a few surprises: - The wine was more than the price on the wine list. When asked about it, they said that for the holiday, they increase it. We had no way to know what the wine would cost more than the prices on the wine list. - The children's meals also cost more than on the holiday menu. The waiter said that what they ordered was not on the children's menu. When he found the menu, it was listed at the lower price. - The bill came with a mandatory 20% tip. We would not have given the waiter over $50 for these issues. That's about it. He did remove the extra charges after he said he spoke with the owner. read more

I recently visited Bistro yesterday and ate in there outside patio section. There food is delicious. The Skirt steak was properly cooked to perfection, the shrimp and garlic here is my favorite its very different from other places and the taste is amazing. I ordered the salmon and it was properly cooked and the sides were delicious. There bread is also great nice and warm. There salad is a wow, amazing taste and well presented. I've been here a bunch of times and have never been disappointed. The food and the service are very consistent. I love their pre-fix menu, which they do every night but Saturday night. For $19-$22 (depending on your entree) you get an app, soup or salad, entree, and coffee or tea and desert. They also send us coupons for a free entree and a free bottle of wine for birthdays and special events. I have never been here for a party but they have a cute party room in the back of the restaurant where they host parties, as well as the restaurant in the front. I would highly recommend this place.
