Service was painfully slow. It took over an hour to get our food. It would have been nice if they would have told us in advance it was going to take so long. It could have helped set some expectations. After waiting for 45 minutes, they offered us a salad to help tie us over until our dinner arrived. Nevertheless, the food is good. Recommended by the staff at Stonefield Winery, I decided to give it a try. As a point of interest as both my girlfriend and I enjoy them, I ordered a Cuban sandwich with a Caesar salad. I would say the sandwich was good, but not great. A decent amount of toppings, but what set it back was the finish. Their offering was obviously finished on the flat-top, like a grilled cheese, and was rather greasy because of it. I would highly recommend they use a panini press, or even a George Forman grill to avoid the grease, which only detracts from the flavors. Caesar was good, but I've had better. read more

It still clings to its coffee shop roots, despite having a menu that boasts way more than simple sweets and savories. It feels like a lunch spot; but I was so impressed by brunch, I'd definitely be game to check it out for dinner sometime. We arrived, placed our order at the counter, and waited for our coffee drinks. Then grabbed a seat on the small patio outside. My latte was not the size that I ordered, but it was well crafted. No complaints about my food however! I got the lump crab with poached eggs over English muffin. Eggs were just right, plenty of crab meat. All highlighted by these delicious rosemary roasted potatoes. Mom's Croque Monsieur was huge, and reportedly tasty. Dad was less impressed by his steak (he didn't specify how he wanted it cooked, and found it not quite to his palate). I get business had been tough, but don't take advantage of paying customers. I ordered the chicken ceaser salad for lunch. My to go box felt like air, for $14 I would expect a little more. I don't mind paying higher prices for fresh food but this is not acceptable. Not to mention, and added sevice fee on my pick up order. I always tip to go orders but that just really rubbed me the wrong way. Not to mention, why my chicken looks like the frozen store bought slices covered in Buffalo suace for some reason. This small place in the midst of a shopping center is probably overlooked but it is so GOOD! We stopped here while in town for a tournament. I actually miss this place and consider driving the 40 minutes to go get another plate of food. They are a little pricey but that is to be expected of a bistro. I tried the Citrus Shrimp Wrap with a Caesar salad and it is UNFORGETTABLE. With all the eating out I do, I have never found a Wrap this good. It has shrimp, wilted spinach, sundried tomatoes, and feta cheese. It's simplistic...but the flavors meld so well together. My sister got the Steak Tenderloin Sandwich and she raves about it to this day. I recommend this place wholeheartedly. It's amazing. read more

I don't find myself in Oak Ridge often and usually, I'm just passing through, but I threw caution to the wind and had breakfast here one morning. I found a hearty start to my day with the Bistro Breakfast: two eggs, two strips of bacon (or sausage), potatoes and panini toast. The stars of this plate: the potatoes and the panini toast. The potatoes were chopped, roasted, fried and dusted with a garlic seasoning that I really loved. I am probably not the only one who loves the roasted potatoes because they are also on the lunch and dinner menus, too. The panini toast was simply bread pressed and toasted to a golden brown on a panini press, but there is magic in simplicity. The coffee, fresh and hot, Guatemalan blend, decaf and a French roast are the staple offerings. I revisited this charming bistro to enjoy dinner with a friend on a Wednesday night and they offer $2 off glasses of wine and a discount off wine bottles, too. I got the Chesapeake pasta: mussels, clams and shrimp tossed with Old Bay seasoning and white wine in a cream sauce... AND IT WAS EXCELLENT! Garlicky and creamy and full of plump, juicy seafood... it was a total bargain at $15.99. And it came with a slice of the panini toast I love so much. I'll definitely be back. read more

Good brunch place but lacks a few expected touches for nicer establishments. Wasn't expecting to order at a reception area prior to sitting. Items were brought to the table by a line cook. My daughter ordered pancakes and the meal was plentiful. I ordered a western omelet which had quality ingredients. A few oddities were the lack of condiments being offered (butter, ketchup etc) and we were given our hot cocoa in disposable to-go cups. Atmosphere was pleasant and clean. The decor was lovely and it smelled great walking in. However, I did not have the pleasure of eating there. My SO and I try to save outings for Sunday brunch to try different local restaurants. On Sunday, October 7th, we decided to drive 25 minutes to this little bistro because of its wonderful reviews on Yelp. Located in Oakridge, I figured the standards were set high so we wouldn't experience any issues. I used to live in Summerfield, so I was familiar with the area. Walking in, I was greeted by smells and the sight of children running around, NOT by a person. In fact, the entire time my SO and I were looking at the menu, not one staff member approached us or acknowledged us. We wanted to sit in the room with the couches that had a cute, two seater, but a family with friends totalling between 8-10, apparently dominated all of the seating and spaces there. The staff and the parents were letting the kids run around as if they were at home. Now, I agree that staff can't control the actions of children and it is awkward to say something to the parents. But, it was obvious that everyone there knew each other outside of the restaurant. There was a bubble that we just couldn't get into. Something I've always noticed about Oak Ridge is that they are much kinder to those within their community than those from outside. Anyways, no one spoke to us or acknowledged our presence. We were standing at the bar since you had to put your order in that way. Yes, you are not only hunting for seating, but have to go to the bar whenever you want to order something. This is something that works for other fast food business models, but not for a place trying to achieve a classic feel. No service whatsoever. All in all, if you are not from Oakridge, you want to be acknowledged at the restaurant you are planning on dining at, and you don't want to have to get up anytime you need a drink refill, don't go here. read more

The chef is an amazing French chef with a little bit of that French 'tude. I love their salads, but they also offer a lot of pastries (which I have not personally tried). There is always a selection of fresh brewed coffees so you are sure to find something to enjoy! The best part of this place is the atmosphere. Even though I've lived near this place two years, I finally stepped in to eat there just last week for lunch. It was so good, my husband and I went back and ate dinner there too, just so we could order off the dinner menu! We had the pork, with green apples, cranberries, potatoes, bacon, onions, in a sauce to die for. It was so yummy, it was just as good for leftovers the next day. No more funny votes, ok? Living in the Triad we have to seek out bastions of civilization with great diligence and patience. We have but a few, and Bistro 150 is one. I meet a group of friends there every month, we're always pleased with the atmosphere and hospitality of the place. The décor is unusual and interesting, the menu, while limited in scope, has something for everyone and there are usually interesting specials. A decent selection of beer too, not vast, but respectable. There is the mandatory TV (is any bar in this country without one?) but it's not blaring and one can ignore it relatively easily. There is the noisy kid every now and then but generally it's a great place for quiet conversation. Some nights they have live music, most recently a singer/sax player and a keyboard guy, playing very cool, relaxing jazzy stuff. Whether or not you like that depends on you and if you want to talk or listen, I suppose, but it does add to the place that such things happen there. One gets the feeling the staff really do care that you enjoy your food and drink, without the ingratiating "My name is Lance, I'll be your server tonight and I'll keep this silly grin on my face in the hope it'll get me a better tip" you find elsewhere. In summary, a more sophisticated place than most, for more sophisticated people. If you're less sophisticated (or more self-serving) than I am, please stay home. On a recent Friday night, I had an experience that was memorable for all the right reasons. You order at the counter, and then they deliver the food to your table. Seating is first-come first-served, so prepare to wait for the table you want or just take what's available. I enjoy sitting where I can see the kitchen, and watch the care taken in preparation of all the dishes. On this occasion I ordered an herbed chicken dish that was out of this world. Savory comfort food is how I'd describe it. The flavors were extraordinary - and I ate every bite! Unusual for me. I'm craving it again right now just thinking about it! We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed, and tonight was no exception. Here you choose your own table, or couch, and order at the counter and they deliver to your table. We got here a little after six on a Wednesday and it was not busy. Mary ordered the Garlic, Olive Oil, Parmesan Veggie Pasta and I ordered the Grilled Chicken Breast. After a short wait the meals were delivered and the presentation was perfect, see attached pictures. The grilled chicken was done to perfection and very moist and the taste... Oh, the taste was as good as I have had anywhere. The mixed veggies were steamed perfectly and seasoned to perfection as well. The roasted red potatoes were cooked just right and again flavored properly. Mary's pasta dish was excellent as well. The pasta was a perfect al dente and again the garden vegetables were cooked perfectly. The garlic bread was toasted a deep brown on both sides and not overwhelmed by the garlic. The only thing that was not perfect is that I had to ask for a large spoon so Mary could spin her pasta! And the serving sizes were large and filling. An excellent meal. While waiting for dinner I read some of the other reviews, the ones three or below, and must say the only explanation I would have is maybe consistency to explain the difference between what I read and this review. While we don't come here very often, every four or five months, I do recognize the staff especially the chef. So maybe we just happen to hit it on his days and we have always had great food. Now this is not an upscale, fancy restaurant, just locally owned and operated, but the food, the service and the prices we have consistently had justifies the rating. Outstanding experience! We Yelped as we're out of town and saw this place had great reviews so we went for it and it did not disappoint. The charm of the intimate and comfortable atmosphere was relaxing and the hospitality/service top notch.
