This is a small local breakfast place, with about 10 tables. You can see Pilot Mountain in the distance from the window. The food tasted great, although most of the food on the buffet was cold. The issue is the service! You have to seat yourself and despite it being a breakfast buffet, you have to wait for a server to serve you. That took forever--only come when you're not in a rush and have at least 1.5 hours. It wasn't crowded; there were empty tables the entire time I was there. At the buffet, you can't serve yourself. So finally when the server came to take our drink order and buffet details (you can do made-to-order omelets, eggs, pancakes as part of the buffet), you have to stand at the small buffet and wait for a server to put the food you ask for on a plate. This took a ridiculous amount of time. They had plenty of employees, but instead of taking our order or serving the buffet, they were filling ketchup bottles, talking, or doing other tasks that had nothing to do with serving the customers standing there waiting. There was a man walking around (appeared to be the owner, as he would occasionally instruct his staff) who was drinking a sweet tea. He rounded the corner to the buffet and I thought that he would finally help us. No, he was just refilling his sweet tea behind the counter. The kitchen knew what they were doing, but the wait staff is just plain awful. They were friendly, but inept. If they train their employees better, I will be back. For now, I won't return. read more

The view from my window was beautiful, which definitely added to the experience. This is a seat-yourself café, and while that was fine, it did take a while for our waitress to come by--even though she only had two tables. When the food arrived, I immediately noticed the sausage looked off and had a strange smell. It wasn't up to my standards, so I decided to skip it. Thankfully, the rest of the meal was better. The eggs were good, and the French toast was absolutely delicious--the highlight of the meal, for sure. Overall, while there's definitely room for improvement in both service and food quality, it wasn't a bad experience. read more

The place has a buffet and a regilar menu. I came in recently with a couple of friends who got the buffet, and they said it had a few decent options. I got a single patty burger, with bacon. Pretty good, nice charred edges. The highlight is probably the service. Everyone there makes their guests feel at home. Always ready to serve, and so friendly. I hope to come back soon. read more

I took a good friend to the View Cafe and we both enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Service was quick and the young lady that took our order was cordial. I would reccomend this place to eat anytime you are in the King area. Clean place to sit down and get some food. The owner was there the day I visited and we had some good small talk. Good to go to an eatery and find an owner that cares about you an appreciates your patronage. You don't get that every time you go out to eat. I would take my wife to this place to eat as well. read more

(get a pic early, as you might have a van with ladders blocking the view) great farmhouse decor. friendly staff. 2 booths, 6 tables of 2, 2 bars that seat 12. smaller bar that seats 4. very open, cheery. 9 am. breakfast, no crowd. It's a breakfast and lunch place with a vast assortment of offerings. Breakfast was ok. Link sausage tasted as if not completely cooked. or gone bad. Grits watery, gritty, not the pudding texture we expected. Eggs tasted real, fresh. Toast is toast. Biscuits and sausage gravy were good, not too salty. hash browns are chunky, patties, or shredded. chunky is our :home fries". I'd eat here again to try their lunch fare. read more

I went with my family here and this is where the challenge is with two Yelpers in the house, we sometimes differ in our opinions. I thought this family owned business was very cute at the end of a strip center. The "view" of Pilot Mountain was there, but distant. The place was smaller but seemed to have enough seating and the service was friendly. The dish I got was three piece French toast with two eggs and four pieces of bacon and home fries...sort of for $7.99. The French toast was fairly good on a separate plate that helped keep it separate from the more savory items. The potatoes were not my favorite, they were like the square cut of potatoes O'Brien but with no peppers, so not the best but they could have been better with onions and peppers. Overall I felt it was a solid four stars, from price and content. read more

Came here since I saw a fellow Yelper I respect reviewed it. He gave it mixed reviews but seems to overall like it so I thought why not. He was on point..hit and miss here and there. My blueberry pancakes were great, but my son ordered strawberry pancakes and one was burnt and one was underdone. Plus he wasn't crazy about his potatoes. My grits had no flavor too. My husband's French toast which I tried was one note, it didn't have a nice crusty caramelized edge that I like from a decent French toast. The whole dish was just soft. But...place was decorated so cute and it was clean. Great view of pilot mountain. Staff was very friendly. A big plus was this place was very inexpensive! Maybe I'll come back and try a burger. l have been here in the past. l got an ice cream cone and the wait staff gave to me with hand touching and no napkin. She was nice enough. We came at on off time. l like the view of Pilot Mountain. l do not like the menu. The prices are odd and you pick and choose what you want. A Reuben is corned beef, 1000 island dressing, sauerkraut on rye or marble rye bread. lt says it is $4.99. However, you pay for the bread and such. There is to much A-la-carte choices. King has down to Earth folks liking a simple menu. The first time there, was nice and food ok. The 2nd time there, the new menu came out. The place was full and only 3 tables had food. l saw the wring on the wall and noticed our food would take 30-40 minutes to reach us. l stopped going. l did try it again about 2 month's later. Not impressed. The menu is around 10 pages. lt is to much. You need to simplify it. l understand the owner, a nice guy, wants to try and please a vast majority of people. This can lead to waste with to many food items on hand. read more

I have eaten here close to a dozen times and have had nothing but good experiences. The owner himself has come out every time simply to say hello or chit chat. When he is busy, his visits are brief but he always thanks us for coming and also asks how the food was/is. I have had simple things like a forgotten side or condiment, but as soon as I ask, it is delivered to me. I know they have had trouble finding good staff members, so I expect growing pains. This place is amazing. For a small cafe that's off the beaten path, they are great. The place is smallish but comfortable with a nice view of Pilot Mountain in the distance. The people are wonderful, friendly but professional and go out their way to ensure everything is great. Saving the best for last, the food is absolutely fantastic! We have had several things off their menu both breakfast and lunch and every single thing is delicious and prepared when ordered. Can't rave enough about this one. read more

This was my second time eating here and I still loved it. The coffee is great with a ton of flavor options and tastes a lot better than Starbucks. I had the biscuits and gravy platter with scrambled eggs, shredded hash browns and sausage links. The biscuit was super buttery and fluffy and the gravy was perfect. Hash browns were great and my baby liked eating the scrambled eggs off my plate. Not the biggest fan of the sausage links and will get the bacon next time. Ate a few bites of my husbands French toast and I'm absolutely getting that next time. The service was good. The young waitress was new but was attentive and trying her best. Husband ordered a cold coffee but got hot and she forgot to ask how I wanted my hash browns and eggs but the other waitress caught it and used it as a teaching moment for her. The other woman looks like she's been there forever and was very kind and kept checking up on us. Love the feel of this place and will continue to go there. read more

Looking for a new place for us to get family style meals. I will say up front that we were very disappointed. We went in, set down, got our drinks and placed our orders. I received my order 8 to 10 minutes prior to my wife receiving her order. I waited for her to receive her order to eat mine. After eating half of my club sandwich I noticed that it did not have cheese on it. Per menu it comes with two cheeses. I brought to servers attention. She apologized and a little while later the cook came out and apologized. On to my wife's meal. She had hamburger steak with two sides. The hamburger steak was nice and hot but it was also tough and dry. Her sides were cold, not warm, but cold. I can only surmise that her sides were plated very early on while the hamburger steak was cooking. She only took 4 or 5 bites of her meal and said nope. I forgot to mention that I got onion rings. They were very greasy and dark in color. Maybe time to change the oil that is used in the frying process. We did not say anything about the wife's meal. Upon paying the check the server said something about discounting the meal by 10% but after paying and leaving I did not see any discount on the receipt. In summary we were disappointed on this first time in this establishment and do not plan on returning. I went to another establishment and bought my wife something to eat. read more

A great family friendly cafe/diner that we went to after strawberry picking at Robertson's Farms. Super nice staff with surprisingly good food. We had the Cuban sandwich, and the kids had the hot dogs and burger. All were happy with the food and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal at the View Cafe. Go if you're in the area! read more
