First time here, and I have to say. I like it. A friend and I came in looking for a new place to try. Despite it being Valentine's day, there were a couple of tables left. It's not really a "date night" kind of place. The interior is country, home cooking. Not messy, not classy. It feels a bit like home. We picked a table and sat. Michelle was our waitress, and she was super nice while having just the right amount of confidence and sass. Friday night special is flounder, and Michelle said it's good, so I ordered it. She was not wrong. It needs nothing and just tastes great. Easy win. I'd never had pea dumplings so I ordered that and green beans for a side. Green beans were good, just a touch salty. The pea dumplings needed a dash of salt, but are tasty. I'd eat that again. I also had a cornbread side, which was a muffin. This was bland. Corn bread is hit or miss, so I'm not terribly surprised, but good cornbread is easy to make so... meh. No big deal. I've eaten here more times than I can count and every time to food has been 10/10 as well as the service. Your glass is always Full and the food hot. Plenty of options for everyone. If you're there on a night they have squash casserole it's a must try. read more

This local restaurant is perfect for swinging in, grabbing something hearty, and hitting the road. They have a 'come as you are' mentality. Just come hungry! So I found this place cause of the high reviews on Google so I figured I oughta give it a chance. I love a good diner. It's right off NC 8 so there's a chance you may have a windy little drive to get up here. Daily specials everyday except Saturday and closed on Sunday (of course!) They do stop breakfast at 11, so keep that in mind. Decor is what you'd expect. Vintage looking Coca Cola sings and whatnot but clearly purchased a few years ago for the aesthetic. Servers are nice and sweet. Just what you would expect from a small diner in the middle of nowhere in NC. No complaints at all. The infamous "shitty diner coffee" wasn't actually that shitty. (And I do consider myself a coffee connoisseur, so that was surprising..) Since I intended on breakfast I settled for a BLT (I really want some bacon right now) and fries. Pretty hard to screw up.. we shall see! My server said the place has been in business 6 years. For a small diner out here, to stay in business; they're either the only place to go for food around here OR they make killer food.. hoping for the latter! There's a sign on the door that's says we make "good food not fast food".. I'm really hoping that's true cause it's been 15 minutes for a BLT that the bacon was probably already ready for.. (and I am the only one here btw) Hmmm.. hard to tell how good a place is by a BLT.. what can I say? It had all the necessary components and I asked for pickle and I got pickle. So all good. But can't really judge a diner by a BLT.. I will say that the BLT was good enough to prompt me to come back and try their breakfast, which I will have to do in the near future. One of my favorite places to eat. The steak and cheese sub is amazing. Desserts are yummy and the daily specials are always good. We do take out there alot and have had a few small issues that have been handled well. If you want a daily special make sure you order early they run out quickly. read more

My wife placed a call in order for pickup, one of the items being a hamburger with everything. Apparently a hamburger with everything is coleslaw and chili as she found out upon unwrapping. She was expecting lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion and mayonnaise. She called the diner and said that the order was incorrect. She explained what she ordered and what she received. The girl on the phone said a hamburger with everything is coleslaw and chili and then informed my wife, "Sorry About That Hon". I do believe that this diner just lost 2 semi regular customers. This restaurant was pleasantly surprising ! I've road by here I don't know how many times and never tried it . I came here with my husband, his cousin, and the cousins son a few days ago and it was a grate little place . The restaurant is bigger than I expected and loads more on the menu than I expected. The food was grate a had a grilled chicken wrap and waffle fries. Both where very good. If you are in the area and wanna try local restaurant definitely give them a try ! read more

First to review. I can feel the pressure. Here goes: Cute exterior and a quaint, clean interior. Serving staff was very nice and attentive. Caters to a largely local crowd, and the chaff across the restaurant between them and the waitstaff is amusing. Prices were a tick high for what I got. The real problem here is that the food was only good. Burger and fries were just...good. What a doctor would call "unremarkable"--not bad, not great. Sweet tea was an exception to that--it was really good. I will also say that they have a pretty extensive and varied menu, and maybe burgers are not their strong suit. I would be more than willing to try them again with another entree selection. read more

There aren't a lot of decent restaurants to choose from in Stokes County, but this is one of the few. I mostly come here for breakfast which is pretty good and nicely priced. The gravy is a little bland though and maybe sausage gravy should be offered for more flavor. The coffee always tastes a bit ashy or burned for some reason, this could be improved. Other than these small suggestions I really like the breakfast food and the building. I haven't really tried the lunch or dinner. Oh yeah, if only it were open Sunday mornings... Lol read more
