    Cute little retail area

This place is a wonderful little place outside of Reidsville. They actually want your experience to be the best possible and the food does not disappoint. I've been several times now and tried breakfast and lunch options and they were fresh, hot, delicious! They are only open Fridays and Saturdays for breakfast and lunch, so that is the only chance to experience this place but let me say you won't regret it! The prices are good and the food is worth every penny. The owner is always there making sure everything runs smooth and every customer is happy with their meal. The girls that wait on you are very nice and helpful and it is just an all around friendly experience with you leaving wishing they were open a few more days a week. This is exactly what Reidsville needed!!!

We dropped by here for a quick lunch while passing through the area. We got 2 orders of the fried chicken sandwich with mac and cheese, and I got the banana pudding trifle. The sandwiches were kind of hit or miss. Mine was a little underseasoned, but she said hers was overwhelmingly salty. Weird. I assumed maybe the seasoning wasn't mixed in thoroughly when they breaded the chicken or something. Never the less, once I added some Texas Pete to the sandwich I liked it a lot. Breading was a great texture, bun was soft, etc. Mac and cheese was the drier, baked style that some people like. Not super impressed, I probably wouldn't order it again but that's just me. The banana pudding was delicious!! I wish I lived closer and could go back for more. It was clearly homemade, had a good ratio of all ingredients layered, and was the classic vanilla flavor (none of that Jello banana flavored stuff). Staff were super friendly and kind and kept coming around to check on us even though it's an order at the counter, fill your own drink kind of place. Very clean inside. Highly recommend if you're nearby!

I love biscuits and am always on the hunt for a great biscuit. This biscuit was perfect...buttery, soft inside, held together well as a breakfast sandwich. The biscuits and gravy looked wonderful. The coffee is great. They also have gluten free biscuits! The grits were among my favorites as well. Our friends venture here a lot, almost weekly and have been known to go two times in one day so we had to try it out! The inside is adorable with a country homestead feel. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. They have take-home ready made meals available in coolers to the right of the counter. Some frozen & some not. The day we were there they had pimento cheese & chicken salad in half pint and pint containers. A few of the meal options were shrimp boil, pork tenderloin, & chicken and biscuits. They have gluten free biscuits and regular biscuits in 6-packs to take home too. They are only open Friday and Saturdays for breakfast (7-11am) and lunch (11am-2pm). They offer catering services the rest of the week and I imagine it is top notch based on the level of service and the quality of food I encountered today. It is a family run operation with an a

I cant say enough good things about both of my experiences at Homestead kitchen! They opened last Friday so my cousin and I stopped in for lunch. The transformation of the old R&L building is incredible. The inside is so friendly and inviting. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you so I got a pimento cheese sandwich grilled on potato bread with fries, a burger add fried egg with chips, and a side of Mac and cheese. The burger was so incredibly juicy and well seasoned for a smash burger. The fries were hot and crispy. The pimento cheese plump. The Mac and cheese wonderfully creamy with a crisp of bread crumbs. Our experience was so wonderful I went back for breakfast the next morning. I got a fried chicken biscuit add American cheese, a bacon egg and cheddar cheese biscuit, and a monroeton monster breakfast platter. The biscuits were buttery and flaky but not dry. The fried chicken was crispy and well seasoned. The sausage on the breakfast platter was thick and crispy. And these are just the highlights - the entire meal was amazing and I plan to be back each week to get breakfast. They have a little market on the far side of the restaurant where they sell merch and homemade foods for carry out such as deserts, biscuits, and take home meals in their fridge. They're only open for lunch Fridays and breakfast on Saturdays so the take and heat meals are excellent if you're craving Homestead at dinner time. If you're in the Reidsville area and looking for a new spot to dine, I highly recommend trying the new Homestead Kitchen!

First step in the door immediately feels like going to your grandparents house for Sunday breakfast. It's so welcoming and warm, the staff is so sweet and willing to help. The food is phenomenal, gray perfection and the omelet is a dream I continue to have. I can't wait to go back and try more things. It's a perfect spot for a breakfast date, or family lunch! They also have the sweetest little shopping nook! I am so grateful Reidsville has this little gem and I hope they stay forever.

Wonderful food! It is not your typical type of restaurant. The service is great. I only wish that it would be open more days.

Very generous portion sizes and phenomenal flavors. The breakfast club standout was the pork sausage. Absolutely excellent and elevated that flavor profile to the highest degree. If you get the chilaquiles, I highly recommend getting both salsas. It offers a great contrast of flavors. I got mine with the birria meat and I was completely satisfied. The blueberry hushpuppies were an amazing surprise. Like deep fried donut holes. The cinnamon butter that goes alongside it was a perfect pairing. Finally, the beignets were melt in your mouth good. Like flaky funnel cakes. I want to give a special shoutout to our server Raegan. She was great in recommending items along with making our drinks to order. Lastly, the ambience of the entire restaurant was cozy and friendly. It may be a lot for some but you feel like family as you sit next to strangers who are all melting with every single bite they take. 11/10

Choices of the day (Friday night, 4/5) were Famous Pot Roast, Bacon Herb Baked Chicken, loaded Mac and cheese, bacon braised Brussels, Broccoli casserole, Sriracha sweet potatoes, and the usual salad accompaniments. They did not disappoint. The pot roast was as tender a flavorful as any I've had, with a few potatoes and carrots in a gravy. The chicken was also very tender (all dark meat, that I saw, and prefer) and juicy, with a nice blend of seasonings. I even tried the broccoli casserole, even though I don't care much for the vegetable, and it was pretty tasty! My girlfriend loved the Sriracha sweet potatoes, and went back for seconds. As I prefer sweet potatoes more on the savory side, I also enjoyed them. I wasn't brave enough for the Brussel sprouts, however. The regular salad side had options of Romaine, or a tender greens mix, with many of the usual toppings and six dressing choices. My lemonade was spot-on, and Barb's half-and-half tea was also tasty. They also have Pepsi products available. We will definitely be watching their Facebook page for future weekend selections, as the menu changes daily/weekly.

Sadly, the menu reads much more exciting than the food ultimately tastes. I have eaten here several times because I genuinely thought I just had not found the right dish yet. Everything looks fresh and presentable, but the execution stops at visual appeal. The BBQ chicken flatbread was decent, but unfortunately, most of the other items I ordered across several visits were discarded after only a few bites. From a culinary standpoint, the biggest issue is the lack of flavor development. The egg salad and chicken salad needed more texture and depth. Celery should not be in every "salad". It makes them all taste the same especially since there was no flavor character that set them apart. The flatbreads looked attractive and were plated nicely, but the flavors felt muted and one-dimensional. Every bite should hit a little different, within the flavor profile offered. I am from the Deep South, so I naturally expect a bolder flavor scope and more personality in dishes like chicken salad, egg salad, barbecue, turkey and flatbreads. This may simply be a difference in culinary style, but after several visits, the food profile for this spot feels tragically bland rather than clean or delicately seasoned. The restaurant has a pleasant foundation, but the menu needs more dimension--- add some character-- bolder bread options, seasoning in the base meat selection, texture with cheese, bacon, garlic, blue cheese crumbles, candied pecans, grilled onions, multigrain flavor packed bread, grilling toast or chicken for crispy textures... these are basics.

Start the meal off right with some Patatas Bravas. Double-fried potatoes with a tasty salsa and garlic aioli. Those went by quick! It's savory with a hint of spice. For the dinner service entrees, the real winner is the Fish and Chips. It's a huge battered haddock fillet over a bed of fries, accompanied by cabbage slaw and tartar sauce. Don't forget the malt vinegar to pair with the fries! The haddock was done perfectly, as it was both crispy and juicy. It was filling, but not over the top. Quality over quantity for sure. The chicken tikka masala is also a nice touch to the menu. A bit different from the rest, but not overly left of field. It was spiced to be flavorful but not overpowering. The chicken was nice and tender. The herb rice was decent, but still paired well as a sidekick to the tikka masala. Feeling desserts? Leave some space for the tuxedo cake.
