Absolutely outstanding!! I've been dying to try Homestead and finally made it out. This is some of the best food I've had, truly. I ordered the Fried Chicken Biscuit with egg and pimento cheese. WOW. The biscuits are delicious, and I could immediately tell the chicken would be amazing based on the breading and seasoning. I also enjoyed the home fries. One of the cool things about here is that they also sell local products like honey, elderberry, and eggs. I bought a dozen for $6. Everyone here is so friendly! I love the coziness of the space and that they even have a little bar for seating! The hours are super limited so check before you go (Th & Fr 7-2). read more

10 stars!! I have wanted to get here for months and finally we made it. It's the location of the old R&L diner but HUGE upgrade. Very quaint and clean on the inside. They had to gut the place and do a full reno. Owners are super nice and one used to be the head chef at The Undercurrent in Gso for 16yrs. The food- amazingly fantastic. We split the Monroeton Monster platter and we're completely satisfied. The potatoes were fire, the grits creamy and buttery, sausage and bacon were spot on and the biscuit with sausage gravy.... They serve breakfast and lunch on Friday and Saturday and run a catering business as well. One side of the store has a small market with take home foods and local crafts. Can't wait to come back for lunch. We'll worth the drive from Greensboro or wherever you are. read more

The food was good. The service is slow. I asked for a water at least 4 times before I finally got it. Took awhile for the food to come out too. This was my second visit. I'm not going back . If you have time to waste and want slow service and waitress that does not come bk to check on you, it's your place to go. read more

This place is a wonderful little place outside of Reidsville. They actually want your experience to be the best possible and the food does not disappoint. I've been several times now and tried breakfast and lunch options and they were fresh, hot, delicious! They are only open Fridays and Saturdays for breakfast and lunch, so that is the only chance to experience this place but let me say you won't regret it! The prices are good and the food is worth every penny. The owner is always there making sure everything runs smooth and every customer is happy with their meal. The girls that wait on you are very nice and helpful and it is just an all around friendly experience with you leaving wishing they were open a few more days a week. We dropped by here for a quick lunch while passing through the area. We got 2 orders of the fried chicken sandwich with mac and cheese, and I got the banana pudding trifle. The sandwiches were kind of hit or miss. Mine was a little underseasoned, but she said hers was overwhelmingly salty. Weird. I assumed maybe the seasoning wasn't mixed in thoroughly when they breaded the chicken or something. Never the less, once I added some Texas Pete to the sandwich I liked it a lot. Breading was a great texture, bun was soft, etc. Mac and cheese was the drier, baked style that some people like. Not super impressed, I probably wouldn't order it again but that's just me. The banana pudding was delicious!! I wish I lived closer and could go back for more. It was clearly homemade, had a good ratio of all ingredients layered, and was the classic vanilla flavor (none of that Jello banana flavored stuff). Staff were super friendly and kind and kept coming around to check on us even though it's an order at the counter, fill your own drink kind of place. Very clean inside. This place is AWESOME! We will probably become regulars. Generous portions (truly enough to share the Monster breakfast between two people!), friendly service, and the cutest little shop with so many good treasures and treats! We bought some extra biscuits from the fridge to take home, and a small container of chicken salad (which now I wish I would have gotten the large one! There's always next week!). Everything was super clean and it was very busy, but they were getting everything made fast in the kitchen. My daughter loved the waffle special, and said the apple custard is the greatest waffle topping she has ever had! This is the closest restaurant to our home, so we only wish it were open more than two days a week because it is so good! read more

The restaurant is small but cute. Lots of regular customers. A lot of the food they serve they raise themselves. My husband got the special meatloaf sandwich that was great. The biscuits are wonderful and you can take some home if you want. . They have a tea and water station so you can help yourself, which is really nice. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. They have take-home ready made meals available in coolers to the right of the counter. Some frozen & some not. The day we were there they had pimento cheese & chicken salad in half pint and pint containers. A few of the meal options were shrimp boil, pork tenderloin, & chicken and biscuits. They have gluten free biscuits and regular biscuits in 6-packs to take home too. They are only open Friday and Saturdays for breakfast (7-11am) and lunch (11am-2pm). My family has gone to Homestead at least half a dozen times, and we have never left hungry or disappointed. Mike, the chef, creates fantastic meals and the specials, and Steph is the most welcoming presence. Their specials rotate by season and are delicious. The Homestead Restaurant on Hwy 158 in Monroeton, NC (west of Reidsville) has a great atmosphere, friendly people, and delicious food. We had breakfast there today and it was so good! Mom and I each got the breakfast platters with a side of grits each and orange juice for both of us. The platters come with two strips of bacon, two sausage patties, two eggs cooked to order, a biscuit, whipped butter, and house made, seasonal jam. We asked for soft scrambled eggs and they were perfectly cooked and properly seasoned. The bacon was crisp and biscuit was fluffy. The grits were cooked perfectly and I only added a little pepper. I got my grits with butter and cheese. We could've easily split one platter and still walked out of there satisfied. We both left half our grits and one whole sausage patty on our plates. They have a quaint little store where you can purchase ready made meals, desserts, pottery, knick-knacks, etc. Service was exceptional also. We were greeted as soon as we walked in as if we were family. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table. We were seated at a table that Mom said was called a "pie crust" table because the frame around the top looks like a pie crust. The prices are reasonable also. I cant say enough good things about both of my experiences at Homestead kitchen! They opened last Friday so my cousin and I stopped in for lunch. The transformation of the old R&L building is incredible. The inside is so friendly and inviting. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you so I got a pimento cheese sandwich grilled on potato bread with fries, a burger add fried egg with chips, and a side of Mac and cheese. The burger was so incredibly juicy and well seasoned for a smash burger. The fries were hot and crispy. The pimento cheese plump. The Mac and cheese wonderfully creamy with a crisp of bread crumbs. Our experience was so wonderful I went back for breakfast the next morning. I got a fried chicken biscuit add American cheese, a bacon egg and cheddar cheese biscuit, and a monroeton monster breakfast platter. The biscuits were buttery and flaky but not dry. The fried chicken was crispy and well seasoned. The sausage on the breakfast platter was thick and crispy. And these are just the highlights - the entire meal was amazing and I plan to be back each week to get breakfast. They have a little market on the far side of the restaurant where they sell merch and homemade foods for carry out such as deserts, biscuits, and take home meals in their fridge. They're only open for lunch Fridays and breakfast on Saturdays so the take and heat meals are excellent if you're craving Homestead at dinner time. First step in the door immediately feels like going to your grandparents house for Sunday breakfast. It's so welcoming and warm, the staff is so sweet and willing to help. Homestead Kitchen is as close to perfect as you can get. My wife and I go almost every Saturday morning. The food is as good as it gets. I am working my way through the menu. The owners and staff care. About the food, about their customers and each other. The service is professional. Smooth, quick and precise. One of our absolute favorites is their house lemonade. Great lemonade is hard to come by. Not here. Perfect for me on the days we are there for lunch. The coffee is for me at breakfast. We get a large chicken salad to go every time. This place is wonderful, it's a new place we've been wanting to stop at and finally went for the first time the other day and we do not regret it. The service was great, extremely sweet owners and a beautiful place, and the food, the food was absolutely amazing.
