Friday special prime rib - got it blackened
    Christine L.

First visit, Friday 2/19/21 - really homey feel, attentive, professional, and friendly staff, decorated walls show dedication to veterans and military service, great service, and great food. Lenten Special note: There are a lot of fish fry offerings around, but many are drive thru / pick up only right now (and then it'll be soggy when I get home :( so this was a great option) Prime Rib note: my fiancé loves prime rib (and I'm growing to love it, too). Not a lot of places you can walk into without a reservation on a Friday night to have a quiet, home style feel. Despite this, I do recommend calling ahead and making reservations - we were probably lucky they still had prime rib and seating available. COVID-19 Special note: I appreciated they had an entrance only and exit only door, lots of hand sanitizer around and visible

Another great night out for dinner at the Pittsburgh Inn - we plan on hitting all of the specials this week - if you appreciate good home cooking I would highly recommend coming here - Tuesday night is city chicken - it was delicious ! Filling portion with a side of fresh steamed broccoli - Wednesday is beef stroganoff - Thursday is chicken and biscuits - Friday and Saturday prime rib - the staff treats you like family

Great place to eat in my neighborhood. I sat at the bar and the bartender/sever was very funny. I ate with a group of friends and Moose. As is tradition, Moose was saying peculiar things and we of course let him know it, but what made it great is the bartender joined our verbal attack on Moose. We all ordered Reuben sandwiches (except for moose) and were impressed with the taste and hearty portion size of fries on the side. I only wish the place had more room for tables, we only sat at the bar because of the lack of availability.

Oh... I love this neighborhood joint. It has a lot of heart inside with the owner's support of the troops from all over the US, and the staff interaction. The food is good, it has a kids menu, and it's quiet. A good to place to visit if you don't feel like cooking, want quick service and a good meal.

Home loving made meals. Quaint small family run business. Service was good but not great. But the food speaks for itself.

Only place to serve perch in all of Erie, PA. This is a historic establishment in this community. Nice service.

We got a smorgasbord of stuff (of which items I can't even recall right now, but at least one entree salad and drinks), all of which was excellent. Even our picky daughter enjoyed herself. Solid 5 stars! Today, on my way through town on a work trip, I figured I'd stop in to replicate the magic. I opted for the short rib grilled cheese and subbed out the fries for the side of Brussels sprouts. After ordering, the food was out in about 10 minutes flat. Not a reassuring sign out of the gate... The grilled cheese was supposed to have caramelized onions. Now, I'm NOT a raw onion fan, but I can generally tolerate caramelized or fried onion strings on stuff. As you can see in the photo, the onions are NOWHERE near the color they should be to be caramelized. Sauteed? Sure, but they still had a good amount of crunch to them so not even that deeply cooked. Most of the onion leaves were still connected at the root. Also (and fortunately for me and my onion-loving self), the other half had maybe 2 very tiny pieces of onion. The short rib was done quite well and very tender but came in large chunks instead of being evenly distributed throughout the sandwich. There were also a couple rather large pieces of fat in them that was just too much to try and chew through that I had to spit out. The server was very upbeat and kind though and the inside of the place is amazing. Such a cool vibe. Overall, that's one amazing experience and one less than stellar. Being a mid-week lunch, I'm going to assume the A team wasn't on staff so I'll give the benefit of the doubt. I'll definitely come back for dinner another time for sure but I might look elsewhere for my lunch...

In response to Milen D's recent review of Firestones(which I witnessed)…read more I honestly can't decide what's more embarrassing: your experience at the restaurant or the fact that you thought this review was worth posting. You apparently walked in expecting the entire establishment to revolve around your very specific demands, got disappointed, called someone a "clown," accused them of lying, and then produced this barely decipherable masterpiece of nonsense. The staff didn't fail you--you failed to understand where you were, what they offered, and apparently how restaurants work. And judging by the grammar and coherence of this review, I'm not sure you were in any condition to be evaluating anyone else's performance. Being unhappy with a meal is one thing. Throwing a tantrum because a restaurant didn't conform to whatever bizarre expectations you had in your head is another. Do everyone a favor next time: stay home, lower your expectations, and let the adults enjoy their dinner without having to witness another episode of The World's Most Confused Customer. The restaurant got one bad review. You got permanently immortalized as the person who wrote it. I'd say one of those is considerably harder to recover from.

Firestone's Kitchen…read more This was the BEST pizza I've had in Erie as a traveller looking to settle here. I've tried 3 others, mostly very flat on crust or flavor (all independent places). Firestone's pizza has an excellent char, solid sauce and flavorful toppings. The restaurant also has a beer/wine store, and a eye pleasing meat counter/butcher. I have no complaints - friendly service, fair priced pizza for excellent quality, and the liquor section has some charm to the decor. ***From the road, look for Gordon's (even though Firestone Kitchen is the eatery). Gordon's is more prominent from the road.
