Went here while I was in Arnold over the weekend. I saw 2 covid violations that really concerned me. The first was two women sitting inside the building drinking their coffee and eating. (Obviously they were not wearing masks to eat.) Although they were by the door they should not be sitting inside without masks on. The second and MOST CONCERNING was a man in the back, in the kitchen area was not wearing a masks AT ALL. He was definitely working as I saw him walking from the BOH to FOH doing multiple chores. He has no mask on what-so-ever. I can't believe there is an establishment open not following California safety regulations. Great to know this place does not care about the health and safety of its staff or customers. read more

My family and I loved this place and during our short stay in the area, ordered food to go from here several times. The coffee was very good (we were especially fond of the white chocolate raspberry) and the breakfast burrito was among the best I've had. In the small town of Arnold there is not a lot of options of coffee. This place not only has incredible coffee it has a cute atmosphere to boot. I got the vanilla latte here and you could taste the high quality coffee and tell it was made well. My friends all agreed their coffees were delicious and well made. The only bummer as that many of the pastries and side goods were straight from Costco. Come here for the coffee and relax in the outdoor space. This place is great for a low key morning. read more

I would have given five stars based on the man behind the counter. He was super friendly and he managed to convey that while masked. The coffee was great. One of the employees (unmasked) told an unmasked couple who inquired about masks, "Oh, we don't really care about that". Come on people! Try nailing the easy stuff. I realize Arnold doesn't have many choices for breakfast but if I had it do over again, I never would have stopped here. Not a good breakfast. Scrambled eggs were not the fluffy kind you would expect but just a slab of eggs. Potatoes weren't even warm. Everything seemed to be deep fried. No toast or biscuits. While the staff was welcoming and friendly, there stance on safety and face masks was not. It was really disappointing to see the staff preparing food without a mask on during this time. They also had a sign stating their personal believes about wearing/not wearing face masks. It was unfortunate, and I hope they move towards following the county guidelines. read more

This place just moved a little bit eastern on highway 4. I never visited at their original location, so I don know how they were there. The people here are supper friendly. The burgers and sandwiches are great. My family loved the atmosphere and the friendliness of all the staff. We are definitely coming back. read more

Food service is extremely slow and taste is subpar. Young lady who took our order did little to nothing to better my experience and seemed as though she could care less if we were even there or not. Food is overpriced for what you get and staff is anything but friendly and helpful. Not many choices around, however no choice would've been better than the choice of coming here. Would absolutely not recommend to anyone with a mouth, nose, and eyes to come here. I believe the owner was around and from what I've heard he has a preference of hiring nothing but young girls to work. Seems normal to me, must really knows how to run the place. Not happy at all...Stopped by this place since my family of eight were all hungry and it was on our way to our next destination. Boy was I disappointed. The biscuits and gravy were super salty and the gravy tasted like it was made with water. The croissants itself were good, but the egg and cheese had no flavor. The cinnamon roll was cold and tough and the Frappuccino tasted like chocolate milk. My sister has a food allergy and is vegan so she really couldn't eat any of the breakfast selections. However she wanted to try the polenta mushroom sandwich since it's close to vegan minus maybe a few ingredients. The girl at the counter wouldn't sell it to us though since it was a lunch item, and they don't offer those items until lunch time. Really?? She wouldn't even make an exception due to my sister's food allergy?? Fortunately, we had some cereal and almond milk that she could eat, otherwise she wouldn't have been able to eat with us at all! Seriously!! How inconsiderate is that?? Bad business practice if you ask me. We definitely won't be back. If I could give them zero stars I would. read more

If I lived in Arnold, this would be my local coffee shop. On a very cold and snowy day, it was a treat to stop in here for an americano, homemade black-bean soup, and cheese curds! The location is good, the hours are good and the coffee isn't bad. Unfortunately, they handed me my large latte in an uncoated paper cup. After a couple of minutes, the cup softened. When I picked it up to take another sip, it collapsed, gushing burning hot coffee over my hand, my clothes, my phone and my friends. I had read a few reviews which mentioned that the food was good and when we walked in I noticed a nice indoor space, a fire going in the corner, and some nice beers on tap. So why were we literally the only people there at dinner time when the previous night it was standing room only at Sarafina's? Three glaring reasons: 1. The signs outside are a mess. They need to drop "espresso" from the name and update their info online. 2. The prices are about $4 higher than they should be. We spent more here for 3 burgers than we did at Sarafina's for a pretty great Italian meal. Don't get me wrong, the burger was decent. The beef was average, the bacon was perfect, and the homemade ketchup and BBQ sauce were nice touches. But for $18 it needs to be a better patty and a fresh baked brioche bun. And definitely not steak fries out of a bag. My local gastropub makes a burger that blows the pants off this one for $15. 3. Ambiance. Such a nice space to go and spoil it with zero enthusiasm behind the counter. Forget charisma and warmth, we couldn't even get a disingenuous smile out of this one. She couldn't have looked less happy to be there. But it doesn't end there. There are literally 7 signs asking you to bus your own table. OK, so I just paid $60 for 3 burgers and you're asking me to bus my own table while the girl behind the counter stares at the wall dreaming of the moment she can go home? SUPER TACKY. And the icing on the cake, they ask for a tip before you've even gotten your food. So, lots of potential here. In a town where the only other places to get a burger are a greasy dive and the snowshoe brewery that's overdue for a health code violation, the owners could be killing it. Honestly, I think they'd rather overcharge and not work as hard. Not a good long-term strategy though... read more

I came into here to get some milkshakes and fries and it's my sister and my boyfriend. The young lady was super nice while we ordered. but the older guy was very rude! We were the only African Americans inside and he would not keep his eyes off of us. And once we gathered our drinks and food he then proceeds to follow us outside, then goes back inside to watch from the window as we walked to our car. Never again. Awesome spot that takes its COVID restrictions seriously. Highly recommend the BBQ feasts available on Thursdays-Sundays. The tri-tip and baked beans are great (and I normally hate baked beans). Bistro Espresso is a good place to grab coffee. I have never had the food besides the tacos on Taco Tuesday and a bagel with cream cheese, which by the way was super soft and delicious. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. The staff is friendly. Only reason I'm knocking a star is because of the consistency in the coffee drinks, depends who is making it that I have gotten the same drink but not the same quality/flavor. I had read great reviews about this place, and was excited to try it out. However, the photos of the menu are not updated. I ordered over the phone and the person was trying to talk to me while talking to other customers. I tried to order a vegetarian sandwich, I was harshly told that it is an old menu item. I was suggested a BLTA without the B, which would just be a lettuce, tomato and avocado sandwich. I ended up ordering a polenta/mushroom sandwich. Upon arrival, I gave the person at the counter my name for my order and she laughed to the other employee and said "Ohhh the [insert the name of the vegetarian sandwich I had originally tried to order]. I felt belittled by these employees for ordering something that by all accounts looked as though it was still served. They condescendingly asked if I wanted a menu to take home. I said sure, and then they could not find one. If you have any dietary restrictions, be sure to order in person, not over the phone. It was not a pleasant customer service experience. read more
