Crab cake. It's quite big. The amount of the sauce was perfect.

This cozy and warm restaurant is being here for a long time for a reason. Restaurant staff are very nice and welcoming. They do prepare food really good. My crab cake was perfect. It was oven baked one so it was flakey and had lots of crab meat. The amount of sauce came with was just right. I had many crab cakes in the past and this one became my favorite. I had the potato crusted salmon for a main course. The salmon was, needless to say, very good. I was very impressed by accompanying broccoli and carrots. They were fresh, perfectly seasoned and cooked just right!! They do not cut corners on anything. The crème brûlée was also good to finish off the dinner. I will definitely be back again!

Fantastic Duck L'Orange, Double Mash & Broccoli !!!

I came here yesterday for dinner ordering my go-to dish here, which imo is the best French meal in Houston. I ordered the Half Duck L'Orange entree. I requested it with no lentils and add double mashed potatoes with an extra side of broccoli. Their red cabbage is great here too, js. The entire meal in terms of the duck, sides and sauce with the duck were all very delicious, so moist and so well-made. There were numerous different flavors making the meal so good in each bite and altogether. The duck was nicely fatty with a slightly sweet, crispy skin that wasn't too crunchy either. The flesh was gray and gamy, but not too gamy like unseasoned lamb that also lacks fat in some cuts. The bone added more flavor of course. I do especially like the leg quarters in poultry a lot, but even the breast was great due to the fat and wasn't dry or bland like in chicken. The sauce on the side was so good and had a mix of savory, umami, oniony, gingery and sweet flavors all in one blend. The duck didn't even need it tbh, but some sauce makes it extra exciting. The mashed potatoes were some of the best I have had in Houston along with the one from Taste of TX and a place I work. They had the perfect amount of salt, butter, garlic and cream as well as the level of potato vibes. The creaminess and texture were superb, not being dry-heavy or runny with excess oil. The broccoli was very good in taste, easy to cut, while holding some crunch to it as well. Each piece was juicy, fully cooked and not raw or funky in taste from being undercooked. There was just a right amount of slight grease and garlic used in it to enhance the flavor. I really enjoy the dark chocolate mousse and candied cherries with gelato for dessert options here when I have room. The service from the two gentlemen I came across was very attentive, welcoming, friendly and efficient.

we had a cozy dinner here :) food was served pretty quickly for a weekend dine-in would recommend the lamb chops and roasted duck with lentils plenty of parking spots at the plaza

    Escargot is amazing!!!

Amazing service from Hever. The food is great and a large wine selection too. A hidden gem!!! Already looking forward to returning in the near future.

Cute place! A French country decor. About 1/2 full on a week night. We sat in a roomy booth. Service (Efraine) was outstanding! We ordered wine by the glass and thought not too many French options. They brought toast with a scoop of pate and it hit the spot. We split the escargot as an appetizer. They brought out soft bread and kept it coming so we were able to indulge in the buttery wells. I got the trout special. My friend got the duck l'orange. I loved the trout and was happy with my choice. I finished all my mashed potatoes! Yummy. I got the cherries for dessert and they were really good! Hit the spot.

    great salad too

If you get a bad wound here and don't treat it, it's Bistro Le Ceptic. And if you come here after Aug 31 but before Oct 1, it's Bistro Le Ceptember. So this is a pretty delightful French Bistro, and one which we've been to one a couple of occasions, partly since it's right by the gym, partly because it's a diamond in the rough, a nice place in the wilderness, a good date spot, and kinda romantic. So my favourite thing is the french onion soup, and a lot of the other menu items are a little bit overpriced for us, but they can still be pretty good, and I honestly have to say my favourite thing about the place is the decor, especially the adorable cows that are out front. So there's not a lot of good French food in Texas at all, so it's nice to have this place around. A very solid four stars, and in a weird way, reminds me of the Bouchons of Lyon.

It's been so long since the last time I visited this wonderful place. Trust me, I missed you a lot, Bistro Le Cep, and hope that you understand that in the past couple of years, I've got 2 babies and by listening to Dr. Fauci and Judge Lina Hidalgo, I have been going out much less to stay safe and keep my family safe from COVID *facepalm* Okay whatever, it was great being here again and how awesome both the quality of food and service were just perfect!! I love the calves liver as always, and the butternut squash was so sweet and yummy! The hubby and friends all have enjoyed their foods including filet mignon, lamb chops, French onion soup, escargots, and the rabbits...Ewwww I'm sorry, to me and my 5-year-old pet lover, rabbits are pets and not food LOL! I bet Bistro Le Cep's rabbits must be super duper good though, we ordered 5 roasted rabbits but the kitchen ran out and only had 2 rabbit entrees available for us. I wish Bistro Le Cep had kids meal options on the menus and it would be great if the kitchen could fry up some French fries for the kiddos. I don't know about the French kids, but American kids love fries, not escargots! LOL. Anyways, everything here is great!

My friend and I came here for his bday dinner. The service was great, the restaurant was cute, and the food/drinks good. I think the service was the best part about Bistro Le Cep. We had exceptional recommendations on the wines, the waiter came to check on us often, and he was super nice. The pate was tasty, the lamb chops were cooked well but pieces weren't that big, and we got complimentary champagne and dessert for the bday boy which was really sweet. Can't wait to come back to this longtime Houston staple!

This restaurant has been around for as long as I can remember and I've been in Houston since 1995 and in 2024 comes my first visit. The special soup during my visit was the Manhattan clam chowder. It's almost like a tomato base with clams. Interesting take, but I prefer the creamier white sauce version. The crab cakes were decent. Nothing to go crazy over. It had a nice crisp but would fall apart when you cut into it. The veggie portions were abismal. Also during my visit they offered a three course dinner for around $50. The aforementioned clam chowder was my first course. The trio of lamb chop, bacon wrapped quail and duck were my second course. The duck was exquisite. Lamb chop wasn't bad. The mashed potatoes tasted like it was made yesterday. Also this spot is kind of pricey, but I get it, it's French food so it's not super common around these parts. My third course was dessert which was the red velvet cake. Tasted like it's been in the fridge for 3 days. Overall this place is alright but I'm not rushing to get back.

There are books abound, along the walls, in the bathroom, everywhere. I had a glass of Experience, a Californian Cabernet Sauvignon. It was a good pour, not too little or too much and the taste was deep, well balanced and smooth. Since the event took place around dinner time I also had a Fig and Speck flatbread. The fig, prosciutto and other toppings complimented each other well. The flatbread dough itself was ok but could've benefited from a little more flavor such as some garlic, butter and herbs. I also would've liked it a bit thinner so I could taste less of the bread and more of those delicious toppings. Don't get me wrong it was good and I ate all of it but these are small suggestions I'd recommend to bring it to perfection. I could see parking and seating being tricky. I was fortunate to snag a parking spot on the side of the building near the auto place and once inside I found a seat at a table with a lovely couple, another couple joined us soon after. Many of the guests who arrived later stood at first and then halfway through the event, made their way to the floor where they sat cross legged. All in all, The Library was a nice establishment and although a little out of my way, I'd return for another event or if I were in the area again.

First, we got there pretty early for our reservation. We sat almost immediately upon check in. Our waiter was in training but did a really good job. Ordered a whiskey sour. Was seated at the bar so I got to watch it be made. The bartender- man that guy never stopped. He was organized and just did his thing. So many pretty drinks were made while I was there watching. The pink one, whatever it was, was really pretty! On to the food. We got two apps, two meals, and two desserts. Husband ordered the Brussels, Steak Frites, and the Devil's Affogato. I got the Bacon covered Dates, the Pizza, and the Sticky Toffee Cake. The Brussels were good - husband liked them more than me. They were good. Had cashews in them. Little spicy. The bacon covered dates. Think this was my favorite bite. Sweet, salty, creamy. Came we three & I had two. The pizza was sweet and salty as well. The crust was so good and fresh. The arugula set it off so well. Def a buy again! The Steak Frites was so good. The chimichurri sauce was perfect. Just the right mount of citrus. Steak was tender and the fries seasoned well. The desserts - don't skip them! The Devils Affogato we had the first time we ate at Sixty Vines. Had to have it again. If you like coffee, chocolate and vanilla ice cream just get it. Restaurant vibe is relaxed and clean. There were several large parties and what looked like a lot of date night guests. Just try it. No regrets!!

Unfortunately, just like my first visit, they were not fully met. We had reservations for brunch, and our party of six was seated immediately on the beautiful second floor. Service was efficient throughout the meal, with our waiter taking our orders promptly and the food arriving quickly. To start, we ordered the Brussels and the hummus. The Brussels were cooked very well and had an excellent crispy texture, but I felt the kung pao vinaigrette lacked the bold flavor I was expecting. A little more sweetness and acidity would have helped brighten the dish and make it more memorable. The hummus, on the other hand, pleasantly surprised me. Both the red beet hummus and edamame hummus were flavorful and enjoyable. They paired well with the crisp flatbread and even served as a nice accompaniment to some of our less exciting entrées. For my meal, I ordered the marinated artichoke pizza, which unfortunately did not stand out. I had the same issue that I experienced during my previous visit: the crust was simply too thick and chewy. After a few slices, my jaw was genuinely getting tired from all the chewing. The pizza also could have benefited from more bacon and a more generous amount of sauce, as it came across a bit dry overall. The campanelle suffered from a similar problem. While I understand that simplicity was likely the goal, the dish was so understated that it ended up feeling bland. It tasted like a slightly elevated version of buttered pasta with just a hint of white wine. There was nothing particularly wrong with it, but it lacked the depth of flavor needed to make it memorable. On a much more positive note, the carrot cake pancakes were easily the star of the meal. I tend to gravitate toward savory breakfasts, but my sister was eager to try them, and I am so glad she did. These were not your typical pancakes. They were thick, fluffy, and incredibly soft in the center. With toppings like maple butter, maple cream, mascarpone whip, candied walnuts, and cardamom sugar, I expected the dish to be overwhelmingly sweet. Surprisingly, everything was balanced quite well. While I cannot imagine finishing an entire plate by myself, anyone with a sweet tooth would absolutely love them. Overall, this restaurant continues to impress me with its atmosphere, service, and a few standout dishes, but the entrées I have tried have not lived up to the hype. If I were to return, I would happily order the hummus and carrot cake pancakes again, but I would probably skip the pizza and pasta in favor of trying something new.
