Wow! What a gem we found in this Seal Beach French restaurant! I had seen this place many times, but hadn't paid much attention to it. We were walking by yesterday and stopped to look at the menu and decided we would give it a try. The decor is very much as you would expect in a French bistro. There are blue checked tablecloths and art on the walls, and a long bar along one wall. There is a gourmet market attached, which has wonderful gift items (reasonable priced!!), and, of course French food products and wine (with win be tasting!!). I think one sign was that French was being spoken by many in this restaurant. We were greeted right away, and we're told we could pick out table. Our server came quickly, and was so nice and accommodating. We came in a Monday night, when select tapas, draft beers, and bottles of wine are 50% off. Neither of us was very hungry, so hubby ordered a French beer (so sorry--i can't remember the name) and we ordered a few tapas. We got: *Escargot in garlic parsley butter with warm bread *Soupe A L'oignon Gratinee * Lamb pops in wine reduction served with ratatouille *Beef bourguignon First, let me say that the food was amazing!!!! So delicious! There was so much garlic butter to sop up with our warm bread and escargot---deeeelush! The lamb pops were perfectly cooked and the wine reduction was also perfection. The beef bourguinon was the best I've had, and the tapas size, which is supposed to be a half of the regular size, was so big. There was soooo much beef--no skimping here. I know we will be back many times. We left so full and happy!

Exceptional experience! Took the 171 down PCH from DTLB right to their front door on Main St. Seal Beach. Easy, no need to worry about parking. We were after their Nicoise Ahi Salad. It's tough to find a Nicoise salad around town, and even harder to find a good one. BSG did not disappoint. Fresh, flavorful, and nicely presented. They have a very interesting menu, but we stayed with just soup and salad. Add a nice cold and crisp glass of French white wine. Also the whole side of the restaurant opens up to enjoy the fresh sea breeze. Definitely worth the adventure!

I cannot say enough about how much I enjoyed this place. It has a great atmosphere and even a small market inside. You don't find many spots like this anymore. The French onion soup was excellent and the caesar salad was just as good. The portions are small and the prices are high, but it is worth it.

I have been here before and enjoyed it...today, I came with a group of friends for lunch. I ordered the Quiche Lorraine. I must say that this was a very disappointing meal. The quiche appeared to have been prepared in a large rectangular casserole. Apart from the non traditional appearance, it wasn't good Our wait staff was efficient and friendly.

Came back after first trying this French bistro in Seal Beach . Went for lunch and hopefully a stroll along Seal Beach old town boulevard on a chill midweek day . A Facebook food influencer reminded me to come back and try the French onion soup . The bistro have grown and expanded to include a country store with wine . Sitting at a table by the window certainly add a European feel to dining experience. Love that it's a family run establishment with owners on site and enthusiastic. Food was good for classic French offerings . The total experience was charming and relaxing . Bought from the store and got the ten percent off if you dine same day .

A good spot for French food on Main Street in Seal Beach. Okey service (yes I witnessed worst), slow most of the time so if you come here expected great, fast service then don't - if you got new or experienced staff then you will get fast service on drinks but foods wise....not so sure on that. It's a great dinning area with full bar and decent bartenders, but if you order just wines, and beers then you're good but cocktails...just okey. Nice presentation of the foods, taste is just good, nothing standout. The room is greatly decor with cool posters and they opened a store next door so you get grabs to go. It's a great place for friends/family get together for pleasure evening or brunch to catch with things.

I have always wanted to come here as a local but tonight was the first time I did. I will absolutely be back here. Not only is the burger amazing but Abby went above and beyond when she saw I was struggling with my ice pack (my arm is swollen from an injury I had yesterday) and got me real ice in a real bag instead. Oh my goodness- I am so extremely grateful. Thank you

Do they serve brunch on Sundays only?

    Yes

    Do we need a reservation?

No unless you have a large group! If you are going at peak hours, a reservation doesn't hurt but i have never needed one.

Do they still offer bottomless mimosas? I can't find anything on the website but past Yelp reviews state they did.

    Yes for $15.

When we arrived we were told there was no chef so only a few items could be made from the menu. I chose a flatbread but was then told they had no gluten free bread. So we had to get the charcuterie which was so small and cost $30. Really ridiculous price for something with a few pieces of meat, cheese, grapes and nuts. The wine was good, and the tastings were generous and I know it is a wine bar but the day was really spoiled by not having a lunch there. I don't think I would go there again. The fact that I've passed by this area so many times without noticing this little gem feels like a true tragedy. Though petite and easy to miss, this spot is something special. They specialize in natural wines, thoughtfully and selectively curated since they're not a winery themselves. The selection offers great variety, and because seating is limited, it's very much a first-come, first-served situation, arrive early if you want a seat. There's some indoor seating, with more available outside. The wine servers were friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, which made the experience even better. They also host food vendors. There is a sushi spot right next door which is conveniently located next to the theater where you can score discounted bottles if you're catching a movie. Wines rotate as they sell out, so if you fall in love with one, do yourself a favor and grab a bottle before it's gone.

It's a small, charming spot with a relaxed atmosphere. Just a heads up- there's no indoor seating, so everything is outdoors with a small patio setup. That said, when the weather is nice, it's actually ideal. It feels very laid back and intimate, like one of those hidden neighborhood gems you stumble upon. The employee working when we went was super friendly and welcoming, which always makes a place feel even better. The wine I tried was really good, you can definitely tell it's natural wine (in a good way!). They also have small bites available if you want to snack while you drink, though we didn't end up ordering food. Parking is street parking in the area, which wasn't too difficult to find when we went. Overall it was just a really pleasant experience. If you're looking for a casual place to enjoy a glass of natural wine outside on a nice day, this is definitely a spot worth checking out.

Definitely worth it! The vibes are unmatched. It's a unique blend of "top notch cocktail crafting" and "beer and a hot pretzel after work." You can dress up, you can dress down, it's very 'just be yourself' which I love. I've literally had caviar AND hot dogs there in the same night at an event. They know how to blend high/low. Incredible knowledge and ingredients but not snooty patootie. Super inclusive and fun, with cool popups and events happening all the time. It's a full bar so you can get any cocktail you would normally order if you're keeping it simple, or beer, wine, boilermakers, etc. There's a span of offerings and price points, so something for everyone. It's clear the owners put a lot of thought and creativity into making their cocktails the centerpiece of the experience. That said, the execution didn't live up to the concept. The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.
