One of the highlights of our beach days is picking up food from Hangout Restaurant. It's become a tradition for us! The location couldn't be better, it's conveniently right across from the beach, making it the perfect place to grab takeout and enjoy a meal with an ocean view. My go-to order is always the chicken pesto pasta. It's creamy, flavorful, and honestly one of the main reasons I keep coming back. I haven't found another place near me that makes a pesto pasta quite like theirs, so I always make sure to order it whenever we're here. Their burger and tacos are equally delicious, too! This location is almost always busy, which says a lot, but the service has consistently been friendly and efficient. Even with the crowd, the staff does a great job keeping things moving. Great food, great service, and an unbeatable location. Looking forward to many more visits.

I have been meaning to write Hangout a review for some time. We just went again and this time I reviewed in the same week I was there. Hangout is just great. We have been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can eat in or outside. They have a full bar and sometimes it gets a tad loud on weekend nights, but it is fine. We just eat inside. The place is clean, comfortable and super cute. It is right in Seal Beach and be patient trying to find parking. The service is great with the sole exception of the hostess. She is fine, but she needs to pay a little more attention. The rest of the staff is the best. They know their large menu and all the drinks they have. You will love them. The food is outstanding. We love their breakfast items. They have a pancake that my grandson loves that is chocolate and not thanks for me, but he thinks it is great. Their eggs, hash browns, waffles and plain pancakes are perfect. For lunch they have some of the best sliders with great buns and wonderful French fries. They also have ribs and all sorts of seafood. We love their fish and chips and they are often a special. The fried shrimp is great with super dipping sauces. Their sea food pots (the BOUNTY OF THE SEA POT)is my favorite) is so good and you can get it as a starter or for your main. We also love all their shrimp dishes. There is something for everyone. We love it.

Once upon a time, this Faerie Queen met her dear friend here for breakfast. A lovely spot to see the ocean. The breakfast options are great! The French toast options- mmmm! The staff are super friendly. Perfect breakfast! The end.

If you come here and enjoy seafood, GET THE LOUISIANA SEAFOOD POT! It was the best seafood pot I've ever had! I got the spicy tomato it was filled with flavor! It has a mild spice to it but the tomato seasoning blended well with the shellfish. After I finished one, we ordered another one. Sue was our server and she was very friendly, and gave excellent service! The place is very cozy. Family friendly restaurant. Owner, if you read this, bring back the lobster bisque! A couple of the locals were asking for it, but it was my first time here, and I would love to try it. Definitely will be coming back to try other things on the menu. Thanks sue!

The vibe here is def local! We slide into the happy hour menu while in the area! 3pm-6pm The wings were so crispy and yummy!!! The Thai chili were my fav! I found them a tad bit crispier than the buffalo?! The je split burger was a smart move bc we both wanted a little bit of wings and a juicy burger!! Craving satisfied! The margaritas were spot on! The neon juice in them was fresh! I hate it when margaritas taste like OLD lemons! Not the case here! The bartender attends us with great service and didn't leave us hanging for one moment! Would come again! It's right across the beach!! And the prices were great!!

The Hangout is a small chain in the area and we dined at the location across the street from Seal Beach. I ordered the fish and chips. Hearty portion but tasteless. I tried dousing the fish with malt vinegar to help, but sadly it didn't do the trick. My friend shared her Fuji apple salad with the table, which was delicious.

Its been a long time since I was here last.. I was given a window like my last time. I ordered the chicken and waffle. Everything was very good . They don't skimp on the chicken portion. I liked the gravy on side. The food portions that other tables got was huge. They really give you your money's worth. The service was also very good.

A beachfront birthday win! We popped in here for a quick birthday lunch and were honestly blown away. It's a small, authentic beachfront spot that manages to keep a mellow, chill vibe despite being right by the water. * The Food: The portions are generous and the prices are actually reasonable for the area. Whatever you do, you GOTTA try the deviled eggs. They were the highlight of the meal! * The Service: Our waiter was a total vibe super high energy, very attentive, and gave us some "chef's kiss" recommendations. * The Wait: Even for a prime location, we only waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Verdict: If you're looking for amazing food without the chaotic beach crowds, this is your spot. 10/10 would celebrate here

We did the smash burger lunch special and it was a really good deal! The burgers were a good size and very tasty! I liked the house sauce on it and I'm a big fan of their ranch. Their fries are like thick In-N-Out fries with light salt and very good ! The service was fast! And the inside was clean! We will be back again

You guys are seriously the best. Not only did you make it right by reaching out promptly but my niece who attends Long Beach picked up her gift card last night and said it was phenomenal. Said food was amazing and service was outstanding and you guys also gave breadsticks free of charge. Exceptional. Thank you again!

    Salmon omelet and huevos rancheros

Kicked off the new year by riding our ebikes down to Seal Beach on Friday to grab a bite to eat since there was break from all the SoCal rain. There was no wait to get seated so that was nice. I opted to order the salmon omelet and my bf ordered huevos rancheros. The food was good, came out freshly made. My omelet had a decent amount of salmon in it not overly loaded with cream cheese so that was good. Good flavors, it came with some hash browns and toast of your choice. Service was awesome, our server Graham was amazing. Super friendly, tentative. He had a very positive attitude! Come check out the Hangout if you are ever in Seal Beach. They have a nice happy hour menu and a daily special menu.

Stumbled upon this spot after a business meeting and was pleasantly surprised! We were seated immediately with no wait, which was a great start. Our server Cassidy let us know about their half-off appetizers and bottles of wine special, making the experience even better. We ordered the deviled eggs and salmon sliders, and both came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The food was well-prepared, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the service was attentive. Overall, it was a satisfying dining experience, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in Huntington Beach.

Sorry, only service dogs allowed. Thank you.

    Hi, You guys have reservations?

No reservations, but a great location to hangout while you may have to wait.

It would just be a party of 10, hopefully around 12 we would be able to push a few tables together. That's an option if it's not super busy?

I don’t know when you want to come. -0 can be difficult and we are often busy. We always try to help make it work tho

So I would be able to have a party of 11? But Might just have to wait a lil for a table, Correct?

We don't really have a table for 11 available, It would depend on what time how long the wait would be. Weekend brunch might be tough. If you get there early could prob do a couple tables near each other.

Would I be able to make a reservation for Saturday March 5 at 1?

Sorry we do not take reservations.

Would I be able to have a party of 10 or 11?

    It depends upon when

    Do you have vegan options?

Yes we have many options from salads to vegan tacos and a black bean and pepper burger patty, we also have a vegan pasta dish

What is the parking like at the Seal Beach Hangout?

There is limited street parking because restaurants are taking up spots and their lot has tables. However the public lot is right by it on the ocean.

Does this have outdoor seating and beach views?

Yes and no! There is indoor seating with a window view of the beach and also new "patio" dining on the beach side of the restaurant. The seating outdoors on the beach side is tables for two. There is also outdoor dining on the opposite side without…

Will you open sooner than 7am to show World Cup matches (like 6am)?

I called and they said no. Eater LA has posted about options to watch matches: https://la.eater.com/maps/world-cup-viewing-sports-bars-restaurants-los-angeles-2018

If two kids go under the age if 18 is that okay or do they need an adult?

You should be good, it's a sit down restaurant/ bar.

We were seated quickly and ordered a bottle of wine. I wish it were possible to taste the wine before buying, there were a couple I had not had before and they looked amazing, but I'm not gambling 100 bucks on a wine I haven't tried. The wine we ordered was fine, not incredible but not horrible. We also ordered the bread, meatballs, and ribeye. The bread was the dish that stood out the most. It was great. The other dishes were fine. Not worth the money to me. The entire experience lacked soul. From service to food, just kind of fine. Our dishes came out on top of each other, we should have asked them to course them. So this experience was definitely not worth it, which is a shame. I was left feeling like this is a place that does not have exceptional food but does have very high prices and maybe that's to vet clientele ;)

We had made plans to hang out on a Monday and found that most of the restaurants we had been dying to go to were closed, so I turned to social media to find a cute spot for a girl dinner date...they even have a "girl dinner" special! While we didn't opt for that combo this time, everything we got was utter perfection. To start, we were greeted warmly by Alanna (I'm probably butchering the spelling; sorry, girl!) and invited in, and because The Attic occupies a cute old home on the corner it really felt like being welcomed in by a friend. She was exceptional, and was so excited when we mentioned Martini Mondays and kindly explained some of the menu for us and pointed at her favorites as we were visiting for the first time and love getting recs from those in the know! Best dirty vodka olive martini I've had since visiting Commander's Palace in NOLA; if you know, you know... the cornbread with honey butter was a phenomenal choice. We also raved over the wedge salad which had this curry crumble that honestly paired so well with the blue cheese and bacon, absolutely lovely take on an old classic while still being familiar and comforting. The lemon pasta dish (I don't recall the exact name) was perfect for a hot summer evening, it felt refreshing but also filling, probably one of the best pastas I've eaten this year in southern California. Thanks to Alanna we had the best time here, but everyone was so friendly and on top of their game! We will absolutely be back, and I look forward to trying some of their other specials and seasonal menu changes! ETA: I forgot about the beignets! So, these were not my favorite because I like a big, pillowy beignets and these reminded me of funnel cake a bit more than an authentic beignet--but honestly if they turned these into funnel fries they would be to die for, especially since the included jam was excellent! Just some constructive crit !

FIVE STARS IS FOR THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE AND CUSTOMER SERVICE NOT THE FOOD…read more My friend and I had a good time at the lre- opening night of The Bungalow Kitchen. My friend is a chef, so I really wanted her to experience the new menu with me. First, I have to give credit where credit is due. the customer service was top tier! We were greeted as soon as we walked up, and all of the ladies were so welcoming and nice. The bartenders were super nice as well, as was the GM. And of course, the aesthetic of The Bungalow never fails. The space is beautiful and definitely still has that Bungalow vibe. Our waiter, Devin, was great too! Now, on to the food... sadly, we were pretty underwhelmed. I hate that I have to agree with some of the Instagram comments I had seen about the kitchen because I really expected better, especially with all the hype surrounding Chef Eric and the new menu. One thing that really irked me was that our order of broccolini came out before everything else and sat there for about 20 minutes before our entrees arrived. Our waiter was kind enough to send out another order of broccolini once our entrees came, which I appreciated. They initially added it to the bill, but removed it once I mentioned it. The lasagna honestly tasted like something I could pick up already made from Whole Foods. The pork chop was cooked well, but it lacked flavor. The artichoke dish... I don't even really know what to say. The presentation wasn't great, and we kept pulling pieces of the shell out of our mouths, which was annoying. We had a couple of bites and just did away with it. The mussels were good, but there weren't very many. Mussels are pretty inexpensive, so it would have been nice to have a bit more, especially since they are small. The sauce had good flavor, and we ordered the baguette to dip into it, but it wasn't really a sauce in the traditional sense because it was pretty thin. I think it could have had more substance, especially considering they encourage you to spend $12 on a baguette to dip into it. One other thing I noticed was that Chef Eric was visiting some of the tables around us but never came over to ours. Maybe those were family and friends, so who knows, but considering there were barely any people in the restaurant, I do think it would have been nice for him to make his way around to all of the tables, especially on opening night. I will definitely be back to The Bungalow because I love the space, the people and the drinks. I'm just not sure if I'll be back for dinner. I'm willing to try some of the less expensive items and see how those are. Our dinner bill was around $250, in addition to the $40 we spent at the bar before sitting down. Unfortunately, for us, the food just wasn't worth the bill. Overall, we had a great experience with the staff and the atmosphere, but the food didn't live up to the expectations I had going in. Hopefully, some of these things improve because I really do want to see the kitchen succeed.

This place is honestly a joke…read more We waited in line for almost 2 hours while security kept people outside for no reason -- and when we finally got in, there was so much open space inside. It wasn't even close to full. They're clearly holding people outside on purpose to create fake hype, which is honestly pretty messed up. You're telling me dozens of people are stuck waiting forever while there's plenty of room inside? It's giving manufactured crowd and poor management. To make it worse, they stopped serving drinks and turned the lights on at 1:15 AM, way earlier than literally any normal bar. So after wasting hours in line, you barely even get time inside. And it somehow gets worse -- at 1:35 AM they were literally kicking people out of the restroom. We weren't even allowed to finish or wash our hands before being rushed out. That's not just rude, it's straight up unhygienic and disrespectful. Overall, completely overhyped, disorganized, and not worth the wait at all. Don't fall for the line -- it's fake.
