I've been so happy to have this great new addition to the area. We have needed a good option for sushi in this neighborhood for a long time and BistroDK hits it out of the park. The rolls are big an delicious. The fish is good quality. The Epic roll is so good! The Teriyaki bowls are great too with a unique flavor to them. Update: Following up on the DANGEROUS situation with allergens here. I thought this could be a mistake and someone from their organization made an honest mistake. However, after following up with co-workers who also ordered from here today, I realize that they were just substituting as they pleased. Another co-worker who ordered beef got tofu substituted and they're allergic to soy. When I followed up with the meal program that organized the catering, they said BistroDK has received their fair share of complaints and will be blacklisted from the program. Their lack of safety and courtesy to at least listing the substitutions is appalling. The food was utterly inedible. The karaage was so overcooked it was practically dehydrated--hands down the worst I've ever tasted. To make matters worse, they swapped shrimp into a roll that, according to Foodja, was supposed to contain spicy tuna--no shrimp mentioned! I'm allergic to shrimp, and after taking a bite, I immediately realized the mistake. I ran to the store for medication. On the way, I checked the restaurant's website and menu, which claimed the roll I ordered did indeed have shrimp. Later, I confirmed with Foodja that their menu listing was inaccurate--no trace of shrimp in the ingredients there. This isn't just unacceptable; it's downright dangerous. This was a company sponsored meal where we all ordered what we wanted and it got delivered. I ordered this dish because it looked fresh and healthy. But when I picked it up, it looked nothing like the menu photo, missing the cabbage and the cucumbers. I asked why they weren't there like they were in the photo and he said that most people don't like them so they stopped using those ingredients. Pretty disappointing since that was the main reason why I ordered this dish. Basically tastes like cheap Chinese food. It was also served in a Styrofoam container instead of the brown paper bowl shown in the photo. Will not be back. read more

This place is a gem. You can tell the owner cares about the food, if you come here and it's a long wait, that's the reason. Fortunately for me my food was prepared quickly and it was SOOOOOO GOOD! had the tofu ramen, my partner didn't love the broth, but my kid and I did. Regarless, the tofu was crispy and all the flavors worked. We also had the black serpent roll. HOLY MOTHER OF GOD Fantastic flavor. I ordered the bulgogi bowl. And wow wow wow. So freaking good. Do not get sushi from here. I've ordered previously and the food is usually pretty good. Got some sushi last night. Smelled funny, tasted funny, probably shouldn't have eaten it, but I did. Wow really gone down hill fast. We loved this place and came here often. No more. Our crazy crunch roll did not have any green onion or avocado but was drenched in mayonnaise. Terrible. When I asked the owner if we had gotten the right order he yelled at us and started throwing things. Rude, rude, rude. And no more fresh wasabi or any wasabi for that matter!!! I was just telling a friend about this place too. Ummm maybe need to let them know not to expect what is in the photos. WORD UP! This place is part of a trio of small eateries, tucked away in a neighborhood I grew up in up in and was in awe of the recent upgrades. Clean is your first thought when you see and eat from the place. One man shop (kind fellow) who made the spicy tonakatsu himself. Small, but thoughtful menu of delicious warm Japanese dishes. Ramen on point, karage solid, dumplings damn near perfect and the honey hibiscus black tea and was a satisfying compliment to the meal. Had no room left, but will try the sushi next time. The food was not good and overpriced. The roll (rainbow roll) was overpowered by the amount of crab / mayo and it was making me sick. No flavor in the fish and there was a terrible sauce on everything that looked like snot and had a nauseating flavor. The rice bowls were just okay, but the unseasoned vegetables (corn kernels, beans) were weird and the chicken very dry. We couldn't finish anything.
