TG Thai Food is my go-to Thai food establishment when I'm at the office. I enjoy the location in a food hall alongside other food vendors, where you walk up to the counter to order. Every time I have been there, they have been quick with the service and the food has been fresh and delicious. Being that it's located inside a food hall, the ambiance is casual. But this is a good place to host group gatherings and not have to worry about splitting checks and/or table service. Parking at Barranca Food Hall is okay, all street and pretty easy to find. We ate here at their Lincoln hts food court location and the food was really good here. Our kids had the burgers and side of noodles. I had the Panang beef curry- very spicy and it was delicious. Staff was super nice and the space is clean and open, lots of seating available. read more

I just tried the Pad Thai with chicken, and it was absolutely amazing. The rice noodles were a good thickness and perfectly chewy! The sauce had a very nice flavor with the right amount of sweetness. Service was good and food came out quickly. Will definitely come back. read more

Today, I came to do some thrifting at St. Vincent De Paul,, and my luck.. I found a food court right across the street! and yes,.. I had to come and pay a visit.. The food court has a great ambience very clean, very chill to hang out with friends.. I really like the set up. it has the option of dinning inside or outside. It has few variety of type of food. Thai, Mexican and sushi/Hibachi. I ordered a Wonton soup and a tiger roll. I also ordered a mango sticky rice to go.. it was so Yummy. I highly recommend to stop by if you are in the Downtown area. The soups here are sooo good. Ordered some soups for my parents and myself, it was their first time trying them and they loved them. We recfomend the wonton soup, so savory, the tom kha, it's a coconut soup, my mom loved this one she had it with fried tofu and the silver noodle soup was also good. I have ordered from this restaurant for years and I think they changed owners I could be wrong, but something is not right. The green bean dish tonight was bland even the garlic tasted old, not fresh . The steam tofu dish, same thing with the garlic. It was bland cold. It looks like there are a lot of reviews from when this was in a prior location. The current location just opened recently on Barranca in Lincoln Heights. I had no idea what to expect from this new food court, but I'm glad to see new options in the neighborhood! I went with the yellow curry - it was very good. Excellent flavor on the curry, with big pieces of very tender chicken. It was just chicken and sweet potato with rice on the side but was a satisfying amount of food. The quality was on par with a sit down meal despite being offered in a courtyard setting with togo style vibes. I'm very impressed. It was prepared really quickly. My only complaint is curry and a can of coke ran $19.99 which is not only high in general, it seems very high for this area. I hope they aren't pricing themselves out of the local market - I want them to succeed. I'll be back to try the pad thai. read more

Writing this review to remind myself how bad is this place so I dont accidentally make the mistake again. Thai food is all about the strong profile of flavor: sweet, spicy and savory. We ordered pad thai and tom yum. Pad thai noodle is def overcook, no flavor savory flavor just sour. Tom yum is some boiling water and they added in the ramen seasoning (not even enough seasoning). I never had such a plain bowl of soup. Service is nothing to mention of. Quick because everything is premade. Only plus thing is clean area. Been a customer for over 20 years. The food has been consistently good all these years! Originally used as a lunch delivery option at work, then to our home. We've used TG as well for large trays of food for parties. Our guests always loved the Pad Thai & Pineapple Fried Rice we ordered as our mains for our party buffets. Now at their "new" location, it's closer for us to pre-order & pick up. We also enjoy their Panang curry & the Yum Sai Rung salad. The latter has quite the spicy kick! I haven't had good pad Thai in so long. This place was the first one to pop up on one of the delivery apps and the photo looked good. Had a craving for good Thai food for about year. I remember my favorite neighborhood Thai restaurant, T.G. Express. Great memories of ordering Thai food for work lunch potlucks at my job. I was thinking on the way home from church what to eat for a few meals. I ate the BEST silver noodles with pork at T.G. Express. The flavors were tasty and portion not too bad. A lot of food for under $10. I haven't had another Thai restaurant make this dish so yummy. I tried a lot of different dishes and I never been disappointed. Before COVID-19, they would deliver to my job. So to solve my cravings, I needed to take two metro buses to get my appetite satisfied. Glad I did. Cannot wait for my next visit. I went with my stand-by favorites of stuffed chicken wings and the crab fried rice. My crab fried rice was basically standard fried rice with a crab and egg patty on top. We've been ordering foods from them for a long time. They tend to move places, but regardless we always find a way to order foods from them because we used to love their fried rice. They did increased the price and reduce the size of the serving, which is understandable due to everything going up. However, recently, we ordered a food from them and they made a mistake. As someone who works in a customer service, I would expect at least an apology. However, no apology at all. I understand that it could be very busy sometimes but if a restaurant made a mistake and the customer has been waiting for more than an hour, then the first thing one should say is at least a sorry. I recently used DoorDash for TG Express because I was craving some good Thai food. I ordered the Pad Thai and Pad See Ew both with chicken for $11 each. The delivery was smooth and it came within 30 minutes of ordering. The food came in a stapled brown bag and there was chili sauce included. The portions were huge! Probably one of the most affordable Thai places on DoorDash that has large portions. The Pad Thai was tasty as well as the Pad See Ew. I'll definitely be ordering from here in the future. read more

This review is for their new location in Lincoln Heights. TG Thai is in a food hall shared with two other food stalls. Pad Thai is nicely cooked with the right flavors and the amount is generous. The chow mein, egg roll and broccoli combination is flavorful. I wouldn't recommend any meat that is grilled as satay and beef were overcooked to being charred. Thai ice tea was just right and I appreciate the different choices of milk you can get. Parking can be a little tricky with street parking only and the area isn't the safest (even during the day). read more
