I picked my nephew up from school and since he knows that there is only vodka & lettuce in my frig (Melineh H will attest) he asked if we could stop by China Beauty. Of course I said, "Yes" because he's a growing boy - 6' 3". He loves their Orange Chicken, and the combo plates are a good deal. For $9.95 you get a main and side of Fried Rice & Chow Mein. The portions are generous. Unfortunately, I did not get a photo because he didn't let the phone eat first. LOL! I tried a bite of the Fried Rice and Chow Mein. Both were decent.

I ordered food on February 19 2025. I ordered orange chicken with fried rice and a side of teriyaki chicken. The orange chicken did not taste fresh. Tasted old. And the fried rice didn't taste as good neither nor fresh.

So here's my honest review strictly real The service is good nice easy to talk to gives good recommendations but the food here is honestly terrible I've had a lot of Chinese food throughout my life but here are the problems the orange chicken tasted awful it was gray more than a bright white there was no flavor to it either and our side dish was teriyaki and one piece taste good the other one tasted like bleach yea the stuff you spray on your counter top lol the chow mein was ok the fried rice isn't good and I've had some good authentic fried rice. So if your asking me if i would feed this to my family hell no not even my dog please be careful when eating this place.

Okay! This was my husband's chinese food spot growing up. Everywhere in LA you have your go to spot, mine was OK Chinese up the street, is any of it a full high end culinary experience? No. Still, you can't go wrong with hot food made with fresh ingredients. We ordered two combos, a little sad they didn't offer a two item combo. **mains** are made to order rice and chow mein I don't think so. We ordered 2 combos 1 broccoli beef and 1 orange chicken and split the mains. Had to get egg rolls (which may have steamed up in the paper bag they were in) and we also got a side of string bean chicken. The food was good, rice and noodles were a little dry, Here are my recommendations if you have an appetite, a single item combo is more than enough, if you're not super hungry and you want to make two meals out of your purchase especially for couples only get one combo and hook yourself up with a la carte items. We rifled through our food but I did take a picture of the menu for current pricing. If we go again I'm just getting a la carte items and a some steamed rice.

Taste of food was very disappointing. Was looking forward to eating and enjoying my lunch, specially since they said to be freshly made to order. I ordered the kungpao chicken which is my usual go to meal in Chinese food. The temperature of the plate was the only good thing about it. Sauce used to cook fish was very sweet and left after taste. No peanuts used in the meal and was looking forward to them being on there. Big fatty pieces of chicken with no flavor. Appearance of dish is deceiving, was looking forward to making this restaurant a go to for lunch since I work near by but not again will I return. Sad to say it was waste of money and time

But different from other Chinese fast food restaurants, but in a good way you get one item with Rice or noodles or both, I got the orange chicken with rice and noodles, very tasty and made when you order. Prices are decent food is tasty, overall good food, will be back to taste more dishes

Chow mein and BURNT TERIYAKI CHICKEN.
    Tamesha J.

Today at 3pm, I came to this China Beauty spot to get me some chow mein and teriyaki chicken. I walk in and the place was EMPTY. Already red flag number one. Not one person in line? The chicken was so burned between the smell and the look I couldn't deal. I asked if they could switch my chicken out to something else and the lady said, "No Refunds/ No exchanges". This is why your place is empty. You are worried about the money that you are barely even making and not worried about keeping your customers happy. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL!!! I WILL NEVER EAT HERE AGAIN!!! So you can take my $20 towards a new grill so you won't BURN UP the next persons food.

The Bucket was one of my favorite places to get a filthy burger, and in Eagle Rock, several of my favorites could be found, such as Original Tommy's Hamburger, The Oinkster, and Pete's Blue Chip. A very good friend of mine recently mentioned that this place had reopened and enjoyed a burger without inviting me! So, I had to see and taste for myself. If I remembered correctly, they had been closed for a while, and then I guess got resurrected. Apparently, they had been around since 1935, and when I started eating here, they had hilarious burger names, such as Cardiac Arrest, Heart Attack... you got the idea. Would this bucket contain all of the fond memories of years past!? PURCHASE(S) Firestone Walker Brewing Co. Trumer Pils German Pilsner Beer 4.9% ABV 16floz Draft ($7.00): Clear amber color, cider hoppy aroma, low body, crisp light hoppy flavor, smooth finish, and dry light hoppy aftertaste - a very easy brew. Double Western Burger ($10.35): A simple burger made with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion rings, and BBQ sauce all between a fluffy bun, this messy two-hander was strong with its thick patties and stuff squeezing out all over the place. This was a finger-licking good burger at a really nice price! [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 4.0 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings w/Aiolo Dipping Sauce 7pc ($5.65): A small portion with rings of large sizes, these were hot, dark golden browned, crunchy, and had a tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (not sweet Maui) pulled out at times. They were lightly oily while the aioli helped to give them more flavor. Mango Habanero Hot Wings & Veggie Sticks w/Bleu Cheese Dipping Sauce 6pc ($8.25): Somewhat small drummetes and wingettes, there was just enough tender meat on the bones while the mango habanero sauce was surprisingly hot and sweet, I also used the very tame bleu cheese sauce although it wasn't needed. The veggie stickers were small, fresh, and helped to cleanse the palate. At about $1.38/piece, it was a relatively good deal and tasty for what you got. SERVICE You had the option to order at a kiosk or with a friendly young man at the order window (I chose the latter). He easily and quickly took my order, gave me my beer while I waited, and less than ten minutes later, everything was packed up and ready to go - easy-peasy! PARKING (Varied: FREE this instance): I found a spot in their tiny lot (less than five spots). Otherwise, there seemed to be plenty of spots along the main drag of Eagle Rock Blvd. (be sure to read all posted signs) - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE Basically a takeout business with a handful of communal metal tables, chairs, and some barstools in an outdoor covered patio with a lone order window. This was very barebones, rustic, and practical. There was plenty of natural lighting while some electric lights filled in the rest with some possible help from the nearby street lights. There was one TV but no background music. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I was very glad to see that The Bucket had returned (when, I had no idea), and I planned to reacquaint myself with their entire menu. Speaking of the menu, it now had a Mexican portion (burritos, tacos, tortas) that I didn't recall from previous times; furthermore, their burger selection has been scaled back with none of the earlier-mentioned burgers that led you closer to a hospital visit. Regardless, the food was very good, affordable, no frills, and the service was straightforward. Plus, I always preferred to give my business to local small mom & pop businesses. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $34.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

You order at a kiosk right in front, and you pay and grab your own drinks from the fridge next to you after paying. They receive the order and make your pizza. There's plenty of seating inside and outside in the front and the back. The back also holds the play area for kids. Plenty of stuff for them to play with; however, I do feel like there is a lot of space that is not being used or filled with other great stuff. For example, they have an area where they can make alcoholic drinks, but they don't. There's also plenty of more space in the play area to add more stuff. They barely had any inflatables when we went, and I've seen videos and pictures of them having a lot and bigger ones, but on this day they only had two very little ones. My kids still had a blast! The pizza is great! It tasted good. We got a cheese pizza for the kids, and it was pretty big. They did not finish it; we had plenty left over between their cheese and our pepperoni. They have no parking here, but it is okay because there is plenty of outside street parking. My kids loved the pizza and the fun they had here, so we will most likely return multiple times from now on.

Still, I decided to give it another chance around 8 PM yesterday since my family was visiting LA and this was their choice. That turned out to be a big mistake. The experience started off poorly at the register. Since I'm not familiar with their menu or promotions, I asked a simple question about a deal my mom mentioned to confirm whether it was valid that day. The cashier immediately snapped and told me to "either speak up or have your driver talk for you." It was unnecessarily rude and caught me completely off guard, especially because I was already speaking clearly imo. When my boyfriend tried to ask the same question, she didn't even answer it. Just repeated a price, which wasn't helpful at all. At that point, we gave up and just ordered. Even then, the ordering process continued to be frustrating. She repeatedly got our order wrong when reading it back, and we had to correct her multiple times. The whole interaction felt rushed and unnecessarily tense. Better customer service training would really go a long way here. Then came the food. I ordered chili cheese fries, and at first, I thought maybe this visit would redeem itself. They tasted decent, which I appreciated because I was hungry. But halfway through, I started getting sharp stomach pains and had to stop eating immediately. I gave the rest to my boyfriend (who thankfully didn't get sick), but I ended up with a pretty bad stomach ache and we had to go home, smh. So the one time I decide to give this place another chance, I get rude service and feel sick afterward. Between the attitude at the register and the food making me feel unwell, this experience was frustrating from start to finish.
