    A mountain of food
    Jose D.

This was a mountain of food made from one person getting rice noodles and the other getting chow-mein and cleaning out the restaurants available chicken wings. I personally preferred the classic chow-mein over the rice noodles but was glad I was able to try both. The orange chicken was good, a little saucier than I like. The wings are the show stopper here, delicious crispy crunchy morsels of indulgence. You have to have a mean appetite to get a two item combo the portions are plentiful here. I only finished half and made a breakfast burrito with the leftovers. I would go back but get a large side of wings and shame eat them in the dark like a little goblin. Place is open enough for a small family to dine in but it's more of a take out spot. WINGS- get 1/2 1/2 spicy/regular.

This combo comes with a fountain drink and your choice of protein for ~$6

I was checking out my local restaurants before moving out of El Sereno in July when I came across Little Beijing. Still in search of my go-to Chinese takeout place, I was excited to try it. Little Beijing isn't in the best location, as it's on a busy street in a small but busy strip mall, with a small parking lot (don't come during busy hours). The prices here are very reasonable, but I wondered if the quality of the food was directly reflecting that, or if they just weren't making food fresh as often because of the pandemic. Nothing that was sitting out on the "buffet" line looked fresh, like it had all been sitting out and slowly overcooking under the heat lamps for hours. I don't often see char siu as an option for fast food restaurants, so I opted for that as my protein in the combo that includes an egg roll, fried rice and/or chow mein, and a fountain drink for $6. The portion was very generous, and I was able to turn this meal into two and finish it on a later date. Though I wonder if I should have done that, because honestly the pork looked very questionable (pictured). The fried rice, chow mein, and egg roll actually weren't half bad, and I was glad they weren't too greasy or oily. However, the meat quality combined with the rather cold service I received from the person working on the day of my visit--especially during these tough times--made me seriously doubt that I'd ever return or recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Customer service is weak. I have ignored that in the past. Today i got a hair in my food. I wont be going back. Also the noodles were undercooked.

Half chow Mein, half fried rice. Orange chicken and japaleno chicken.

First time here, Good price, good portion. Great spot if you're dirty bulking. If I was going to come back here, I would probably do a white rice, plus teriyaki chicken and a vegetable dish! Definitely a 3.5 star location

Little Beijing has excellent prices for their portion sizes. Don't expect authentic Chinese food or to be blown away, but if you want something cheap, this is the spot. The inside doesn't have much besides two horizontal mirrors and tables that maybe four families can sit at, although rarely people dine in. Great place for a budget.

Pressing down , coudnt close it. :))

Never tried this place , ordered from Uber eats , I got the combo with teriyaki and orange chicken (spicy) . It was more sweet than tangy but it had a kick. The teriyaki was so good and juicy , charred so well. On Uber eats there's no option for Just Chowmein , you have to choose chowmein and rice which I did not want rice only chowmein. I did put in the notes if they can just do chowmein I don't see why not. It did come with fried rice when I got it, which I was not happy about so I dock 1 star but it's ok because The boxes were filled ! It was not even closed all the way it had so much inside. That I liked since when ordering delivery you woudnt expect them to still give you as much as if you would go in person. May come back again to try the other entrees

    Jalapeño chicken!

I always over eat when I'm here!! The food always looks so great you want to add everything to your plate! But I love the Jalapeño chicken the best!!

With authentic Chinese restaurants minutes away at Alhambra and Monterey Park or Chinatown, what's so special about this East LA neighborhood Chinese restaurant? A) The food is delicious! and B) The price is unbeatable for L.A., and C) two words: Fried Shrimp! The owners are very friendly with their service, and generous with smiles and portion. Did I say fried shrimp?? That is the dish to get, and they cook it super special -- you won't regret ordering it -- if you happen to be in the neighborhood and crave Chinese food in both respectable quantity and quality.

Tangerine chicken broccoli beef, fried rice and chow mien.
    Netty D.

Food is ok. A little too salty for my taste, but it is fast food. Tangerine chicken is good as well as the broccoli beef and fried rice. Chow main doesn't have enough veggies and the noodle are orange, so that's weird. Combo a is a lot of food, so that's good. Left overs for sure. Fried shrimp and egg rolls good as well. I ordered via Uber eats so no complimentary fortune cookies for us. That's a Bummer.

It was a but busy when we got there but luckily we got seared pretty shortly after arrival. We originally wanted to sit at the bar, but opted for a table for less wait time. When first looking at the menu we were shocked by the prices. I knew immediately i wanted to get the hui tou potstikers with pork and noodles. We ended up adding on the hongkong style wontons too. To my suprise the wontons arrived in a delicious and warm broth, keeping them perfectly moist and plump. The broth was so delicious even on a hot day, tasting faintly of sesame and scallion. Despite both dishes being pork they were so different and equally amazing in flavor. The pan fried potstikers which were CRISPED TO PERFECTION especially reminded me of black bean shortribs that you get from dimsum, fatty but hearty and had me wanting more and more each bite. The minced pork noodles were to no suprise, so good. Noodles tasted fresh, the sauce was umami with mushrooms and pork. While im not the biggest fan of mushrooms, i still ate it up. I feel it would be so good with some picked cabbage too to complement the saltiness. Most notable thing... THAT CHILI OIL. We probably used almost half the jar left at the table. It wasnt spicy at all, but it had this flavor that i genuinely have never tasted before. The texture of the chilli and sesame and the nutty flavor had me in awe. Enough to take two jars home... i would do it again. Servers were so quick, made sure everything we needed was at the table. Regardless of the crowd we were met with promptness and generosity. This that wonton place your girl tells you not to worry about forreal. Will be coming back despite the long drive from home.

Then of course hot and sour soup and Singapore noodles! This place delivers yet again literally and figuratively in every sense because the food came hot, fresh, delicious and I swear this filet mignon with veggies is delectable! The sauce it's in is delicious and the beef is so tender. The veggies also have just enough snap. The orange chicken is delightful as well just enough crisp (should reheat really well for one household folk like me who usually have leftovers) the sauce has just enough tang and orange element. The broccoli with oyster sauce is also delish, it was cooked to perfection with just enough snap but not too much on the stalks. It's not tough or difficult to enjoy or joins the chewing for ages club. Once again, this place is a total hit!! That was my first mistake -- they don't even serve mu shu pork. That one's on me for not checking the menu first. I ended up getting my kung pao chicken and settled for the Mongolian beef, and veggie egg rolls. The Mongolian beef I could definitely pass on. The kung pao chicken was good at first, but somehow lost its flavor as the meal went on. The egg rolls were just okay. Nice and crispy on the outside, but too mushy on the inside for my liking. I was also pretty surprised (and a lot sad) that they didn't have hot mustard. The tea was really good though! Service was fine. The server was attentive, just clearly busy keeping up with all the takeout orders coming through. Ambience is definitely on the lower side here, so don't come expecting a nicer Chinese restaurant. It leans more Santa Ana burger joint vibes. That said, everything felt clean and they were pumping out a ton of takeout orders while we were there, so clearly they're doing something right. Overall, it just didn't hit for me, and I don't see myself coming back.

The menu is New American with Chinese influences served as a four-course prix fixe set, with each course having three choices, and optional additions are available. (There is an à la carte menu available in the bar area.) I went very carnivorous on my selections, choosing the beef tongue carpaccio, duck sausage, and beef short rib. There was not a bad dish among these: The tongue was tender, soft, and delicate. The duck sausage was fantastically good as well; served with an apple jam atop Swiss chard, it was a sort of Chinese-Alpine fusion cuisine of which I never envisioned but instantly wanted more. While delicious, the short rib was overshadowed by its cabbage accompaniment. My server told me it takes four days to make that dish, and I would have happily ordered a full dish of just that. The kaffir lime curd dessert was light and balanced, perfect after the heavier meat courses and like a small vacation to Thailand on a plate. The one dish I did not love was the Chongqing fried chicken course I added. The chicken itself ― a boneless leg quarter ― was a large portion and well-prepared, but the sauce covering it was a thick layer of chilis (which, thankfully, were not inedibly hot) and straight oil, lots of oil. Eating so much oil like that made for gastrointestinal discomfort the rest of the night. The soy pickles helped cut the greasiness a bit, but they weren't vinegary enough to get that level of oiliness off the palate. The duck fat rice, though quite good, also did not help much given its fattiness. Given the chance, I definitely would have requested the oil-sauce on the side. I did appreciate the crunchiness of the batter, which never went soggy despite being soaked in that oily puddle for a long time. I did not find any wines by the glass that bowled me over, so I stuck to cocktails, which were good. Service was warm, personable but not intrusive, and brisk, while the room has the comfortable feel of a mid-century modern den complete with well-worn cookbooks on the shelves lining the walls. I would happily return to try the bar menu with cocktails or when the prix fixe options change. At $68 for four courses, Firstborn's prix fixe is one of the best fine dining offers in L.A. right now, and it makes a trek up to Chinatown worthwhile.
