Upon arrival, we followed the office's request to call first, and we were welcomed in right away. The nurses and doctors were ready for us, and the entire visit took less than 30 minutes. Scheduling the next appointment was just as smooth--the receptionist was wonderful, and we even shared a good laugh over something silly I said. She promptly sent over the new patient documentation, which, while tedious, is a standard step at any office. The facility is bright, clean, and inviting. My little one was especially fascinated by the fish tank in the lobby, which made waiting a breeze. The staff was incredibly patient and interactive--exactly what you need for a toddler's first dental experience. The dentist was very informative and even taught me things I didn't know, like the importance of flossing for a two-year-old. As a first-time parent, I truly appreciated the guidance. During this visit, it was noted my son would need a tooth extraction. We saw Dr. Simrun for this procedure. This dentist is like heaven on earth for kids. She made him feel seen, cared about and his fears were completely gone after meeting her. She continued to check on him during the procedure to make sure he was comfortable and happy. Once inside, they had some Montessori toys for the kiddos to play with, but not an overwhelming amount which was nice. We really liked that they didn't sit him in a dentist chair for the first visit and how hands on they were with teaching us the correct way to brush a toddlers teeth. They shared a chart with us of foods that cause and don't cause cavities, which we thought was cute. At the end of the visit, he received a token to redeem a prize at one of the capsule machines. He was so excited to receive his little token and even learned how to put it in on the spot. Turning to get the prize our required mamas help We also took a first visit picture with him that we got to take home with us. It was a very nice and memorable experience and we can't wait to go back! I'd definitely recommend Pearly Smiles to first time parents and all parents. My son did not do well with getting a cavity filling treatment. He had a runny nose and I don't think he got enough gas when they put the shot in his mouth. He felt it and had a horrible outburst. He was thrashing and screaming. It's was honestly really bad and embarrassing. They were really good at dealing with him but I wish they would have just told us to hold off. He was not able to get it filled that day, they did put a coating on it. We went back and one of the dentists seemed nervous about his previous behavior and said we could put another coating on it instead. My husband and I didn't agree so we went back again. Another dentist said it needed to be taken care of immediately. They ended up treating it and it went well, no freak outs. A lot of different opinions. It was a learning experience for me. Definitely don't do any cavity treatments with a runny nose kid.
