Upon arrival, we followed the office's request to call first, and we were welcomed in right away. The nurses and doctors were ready for us, and the entire visit took less than 30 minutes. Scheduling the next appointment was just as smooth--the receptionist was wonderful, and we even shared a good laugh over something silly I said. She promptly sent over the new patient documentation, which, while tedious, is a standard step at any office. The facility is bright, clean, and inviting. My little one was especially fascinated by the fish tank in the lobby, which made waiting a breeze. The staff was incredibly patient and interactive--exactly what you need for a toddler's first dental experience. The dentist was very informative and even taught me things I didn't know, like the importance of flossing for a two-year-old. As a first-time parent, I truly appreciated the guidance. Most importantly, my child left happy! We'll be back in six months for our next visit. When you find a great office, you have to share--so I highly recommend checking them out!

I introduced myself and let the receptionist know I wanted to schedule appointments for my kids. Before I could even really get into the conversation, she let out this huge sigh like I was bothering her just by calling. It honestly caught me off guard. She immediately told me that if I didn't have my insurance cards, I couldn't make an appointment and would have to call back. I completely understand needing insurance information, but at least get my information first before immediately going negative. I work in customer service, so I know how much first impressions matter, and this interaction just wasn't it. On top of that, there were kids screaming in the background during the entire call. Between the chaos and the receptionist's attitude, the whole interaction just felt off. The energy wasn't welcoming, and as a mom, I pay attention to things like that when choosing who will care for my children. Thankfully, I trusted my discernment and kept looking. I ended up finding an amazing pediatric dentist with incredible energy, and from the very first phone call, the experience was night and day. When I called back today to cancel my appointments, I politely explained why. Instead of acknowledging my concerns or apologizing for my experience, the receptionist simply said, "Your appointments are canceled." That was the end of the conversation. Again, this review isn't about the dentists because my children were never seen. It's simply about the customer service and first impression. If you're someone who values good energy, kindness, and feeling comfortable with the people caring for your children, I'd definitely pay attention to those first interactions.

Once inside, they had some Montessori toys for the kiddos to play with, but not an overwhelming amount which was nice. We really liked that they didn't sit him in a dentist chair for the first visit and how hands on they were with teaching us the correct way to brush a toddlers teeth. They shared a chart with us of foods that cause and don't cause cavities, which we thought was cute. At the end of the visit, he received a token to redeem a prize at one of the capsule machines. He was so excited to receive his little token and even learned how to put it in on the spot. Turning to get the prize our required mamas help We also took a first visit picture with him that we got to take home with us. It was a calming environment well prepared for kids, and parents alike, to feel welcomed all while making it a fun experience.

During this visit, it was noted my son would need a tooth extraction. We saw Dr. Simrun for this procedure. This dentist is like heaven on earth for kids. She made him feel seen, cared about and his fears were completely gone after meeting her. She continued to check on him during the procedure to make sure he was comfortable and happy. He did not once feel any pain. She also texted me multiple times throughout the day to ensure he was doing ok. I usually NEVER hear from a dentist after a procedure. This made us feel even happier to have started at Pearly Smiles. My wife found Milk Tooth, so credit where it's due. I was the skeptical one. Our previous pediatric…read moredentist had all the usual five star credentials, so when she told me she'd found somewhere better, I did what any rational husband does when confronted with suspicious optimism, I sent one of the kids in first. Consider the experiment concluded. We've been back enough times now that this isn't first visit enthusiasm. Milk Tooth is simply excellent. And the reason isn't some expensive mural, a television hanging from the ceiling or a treasure box strategically deployed after somebody survives a cleaning. It's the people. Every single person we've dealt with has been genuinely kind. Not customer service kind. Not scripted cheerful. Not the slightly terrifying pediatric office version of enthusiasm where everybody speaks three octaves too high because a child has entered the building. They're just warm, patient human beings who seem to enjoy being around kids. That distinction matters. My children are two and four. At that age, you can build the most beautiful dental office in California and they still reserve the right to decide the entire enterprise is bullshit within about eleven seconds. Milk Tooth understands this. The experience begins before anyone gets near a tooth. There are things to play with. The rooms feel comfortable rather than clinical. Nobody seems irritated when a child needs another minute. Nobody treats the parent like luggage that came attached to the patient. Even when the place is busy, it never feels chaotic. They gave me the full tour even though my wife had already been there, which I appreciated more than I probably should have. Then somebody asked me if I want coffee or tea and at that point I thought these people understand the assignment. Because pediatric dentistry is partly dentistry and partly hospitality. You're not simply cleaning a tiny set of teeth. You're introducing a human being to an institution they may have to visit for the next eighty years. Screw up the beginning badly enough and somebody spends half their adulthood white knuckling an armrest every six months. Get the beginning right and the dentist becomes wonderfully boring. Milk Tooth gets the beginning right. The staff explains things. They give the kids room. They somehow manage to be playful without turning the whole thing into a circus. The environment is thoughtful without feeling designed by a committee that googled "what do children like?" And watching my kids become comfortable there has been the thing that sold me. I'm stingy with five stars because five stars should mean something. It should mean I'd recommend a place without inserting some annoying little disclaimer afterward. No disclaimer here. My wife was right. I love this place.

From the moment you walk in, the office feels warm and welcoming -- not intimidating like some dental offices can be for little ones. Dr. D has such a natural way of connecting with kids. She's gentle, thorough, and you can tell she truly cares about her patients and their overall experience. What I appreciate most is her ability to calm both kids and parents. She takes the time to answer questions and makes sure you feel confident in the treatment plan. It's rare to find a pediatric dentist who is not only highly skilled but also genuinely kind and approachable. If you're looking for a pediatric dentist who makes children feel safe, heard, and cared for, Dr. DiPaolo is the one. I feel lucky to have found her and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to any family.
