Cute little cafe/food spot! Food tastes good and presentation is aesthetically social media worthy!

Stopped here to do some work and it was super pleasant. Lots of outlets by the booths and wifi was pretty good! Staff was super friendly- I was here for a few hours waiting for a friend and they were so nice to let me use the space. Pancakes satisfied the sweets craving I was having. Perfect amount of blueberries. The blueberry mocha was pretty sweet so next time I'd ask for it to have a little less of the syrups but the coffee was good. Also had the pistachio latte which was creamy and delicious. Great for meeting friends, doing work or for a coffee quick lunch break. read more

This place is great! So cute inside. Not at all what I expected!!! I had the SoCal breakfast burrito. For a little burrito it was packed and very filling. The Turkey chorizo brought some nice heat. My sis got the eggs Benny. Portion looked huge when she opened it. It came with a small salad and potatoes. The potatoes were mixed which is something different - white, sweet and purple. I also tried the chagaccino. I was intrigued by the fact it's made from a mushroom. The description of the flavor was spot on. It very much tasted like a mocha. I thought it was good! As for getting there, the address is Essex St but you have to enter from either of the side streets. The place has a nice vibe to it to sit down and work or study. I ordered the wrap from the menu and a ginger lemonade. Both were good. However the service was slow considering there were only about 10 people. I received my wrap but waited over 20 minutes for the lemonade. After inquiring about they said they misplaced the ticket and had to wait another 15. At that point I left. Would probably return for a pick up order. read more

My toddler loved the chocolate chip pancakes! It would be lovely if they added a kids menu. I thoroughly enjoyed their smoothies and I split with my son. The fried cheese bites were good. They forgot the Parmesan cheese and they were very cold so they came and said they forgot to heat them (I believe came right from freezer to our table) and went back and did. I took them home because was still a little cold so I could heat them up further at home. They didn't offer water and forgot silverware. They noticed they forgot honey on the pizza so did it at the table. We enjoyed the pepperoni honey pizza. I believe it might have been the manager walking around who was friendly and observant of tables. It was pretty busy we went sat around 1:20. Free parking which was nice. A lot of nice mention options especially smoothie and coffee drinks. Three people was about $80 plus tip. They played good music. Service and accuracy could be improved. read more

Super cute cafe! Love the pink decor and the roomy interior as well (very instagrammable)! The drinks and pastry were yummy so I would love to come back and try their food! One thing to note about parking; there is a big parking lot right in front of the cafe but there is a sign that says 30 minute parking only (This was back in Dec 2021 when I visited). I had the maple latte and REALLY enjoyed it. My mom too! We shared a breakfast dish and it was fantastic. The food is clearly made fresh! Love the vibe of the place. I've been here a couple of times and at first I was like damn, the serving is small but no way you gotta take your first bite! The food is filling !! Both times I would be half way through my meal and am full then consume the rest later or to share. I really enjoy their juices too! The staff is wonderful- especially the young gentleman that served food. There is free parking here. Please sign up for their reward system- it'll save you $$ in the long run. We ordered in Friday night and the food was delivered via DoorDash within 40mins. Despite the smaller portions, the food is exceptional. My husband's steak bowl is small with 5 slivers of protein and 1" tall bed of veggie "noodles", exactly how it is pictured in my review- not what we would typically pay if we knew what we'd received... only bc we are in NJ. For $15 (with a small portion) there should be a side salad so the bowl wouldn't look empty. We joked that that his meal portion was only expected if we were in midtown New York (very true for those who lives in NJ and works in NY). My fish tacos are deliciously. I love the cider slaw, jalapeños and guacamole. The fish batter was VERY crispy!!! I personally can't stand soggy batter fish tacos. This experience felt like I was eating at the restaurant since they were so fresh ! I highly recommend their fried Mac and cheese balls! Flavors and cheesiness is 10/10. Was in the area and in need of a breakfast spot. To start, the aesthetic and vibe and overall decor of this place is absolutely beautiful. You enter and are greeted by an awesome insta worthy back drop, walk in more and are greeted with tons of seating and the area to put your order in with a huge menu on the wall which makes things easy. I ordered the Essex sandwich with a large cold brew. Both honestly tasted awesome & we pretty reasonably priced too. Didn't take too long to get our sandwiches (as I notice some other reviews mention there's a wait generally) & they were great quality. Staff was also really nice so no complaints. Randomly found this place in google looking for a new vegan friendly restaurant. The decor is just delightful! It's a small place but spaced out well. All ordering is done via QR code. Only issue with that was that there was no way to space out the appetizer and entrees. At least not that I could figure out. Not a big deal though. We shared the vegan nachos which were tasty, and a big portion. I got the vegan burger, which is an Impossible Burger with avocado, mescaline, tomato and chipotle ketchup. I selected sweet potato fries as my side. Both were delicious. I also got the mango colada shake. Loved it! I would come back just for that! Okay, I'm not going to lie. The process to order here is really annoying. There are people at the front seemingly only there to let you know you need to scan the QR code to order. I think if I would have known that ahead of time it wouldn't have been as big of a deal because I could have ordered ahead. So keep that in mind before coming. On to the food: I was looking for something somewhat healthy this day so I ordered the chickpea power bowl. I really wanted to give 5 stars because there are so many vegan options, but breakfast is much better than the lunch/dinner and I've had some mixed reviews on the lunch/dinner options. For lunch/dinner- not all at my favorite.. but there are some good options! I've tried the mole burger, it's decent but I wish they had a vegan cheese to sub the pepperjack cheese for. I feel like there's something missing from the mole burger without the vegan cheese.. The lentil soup is OK- overdone with spices but is filling. The vegan impossible burger is pretty good & filling. I do love the house chips here- an absolute must! I wouldn't try the falafel plate- the falafel doesn't taste 100% authentic. The chickpea power bowl is solid for a healthier filling option. And the pizzas are small and thin, but the shroom shroom pizza is so good (without honey, ricotta and sub regular cheese for vegan cheese). Let's talk some of my favorites for breakfast- I tried the vegan breakfast burritos (both the sovegan & scrambler), vegan brekkie plate, and chickpea mash. They're all pretty good but the sovegan breakfast burrito is my absolute favorite & I love the potatoes that come with it. And- the superfood lattes are good! The ruby cocoa is a must try! Food is always delicious. Only reason for 4 stars is that service is slow. Often times one of party members dishes is ready and sitting under then lamp while awaiting the other one. Sandwiches are good portion and tasty, fries are great. Restaurant is super cute and well decorated read more

This place is so cool! The ambiance is really nice and stylish. I'm sure pre pandemic this was a great spot to meet up with friends. This place is so sweet and vibey. I am a big fan of their coffee; pumpkin spice, lavender, pistachio lattes. They have dairy free options for the coffee and always add a nice touch to their presentation. I love their vegan options they are full of flavor and kind of wish they can add another lunch menu for vegans. I love their vegan burrito with the green goddess. I also love their vegan tacos. The price is medium and I have yet to buy avocado toast because it is way overpriced. The service is sweet and they are always awesome. The place is perfect for lunch and studying. Ambiance is chill. We also got the brunch burger, it was good and it was a good size burger and the fries were really crispy. We also got huevos rancheros, the potato's were nice and crispy and all the toppings were so good. I walked over from the ER and thought I'd have to find something at Starbucks, but then I saw Bite and knew it would be better. Wow, this is the BEST chai latte I've ever had! That alone is five stars! I ordered the steak and eggs brunch and it was very good, though I felt a bit more fat could have been trimmed off (and replaced with a bit more steak). To be fair, the portion wasn't particularly small, but I was really hungry. Definitely give this place a try for a light "healthier" meal. Better than bagel cream cheese and lox because the multigrain bread has a great texture and is so tasty, and because the creme fraiche is delicious. Avocado mash toast with added smoked salmon. Comes with sliced radish, halved grape tomatoes on their delicious multigrain bread. I now have had four of their five "toasts" and love all of them. Their smoked salmon was very fresh and top quality. I could say that about all the ingredients of all the dishes I've had so far. "About to glow" juice -- grapefruit, orange and pineapple juices with mint. So much better than any of those three juices by themselves. Grapefruit was the strongest taste but there was a sweetness to the mix. Yummy. "Just beet it" juice -- Beets is the most dominant taste. If I order this again, it won't be for the taste, it would be because I want to feel like I'm drinking something healthy. read more

Tried this place for the first time today. Chicken tacos soggy, tortilla ripped as soon as I picked it up. Chimichuri bowl is average. The "curried cauliflower and chick peas" are horrible. It looks like they threw some curry powder and oil on it. Not the typical curried food you would expect. Chimichuri steak was a little bland. Potatoes and Brussels sprouts were tasty. I really enjoyed the aesthetics of this establishment, but was disappointed with my choice of food. It sucked. I got Chimichurri Steak with Eggs and a s'mores latte, and was truly upset with my choice. I admit, maybe it was what I ordered, but highly disappointed. I should've known when there wasn't an option of how I wanted my steak cooked, or that they didn't have white toast (but toast was alright). I also had to ask for water, assuming that it would be automatically given to me. In conclusion, I didn't enjoy my experience, but take full responsibility in not ordering something better. read more

I recently was in area and decided to stop At BITE. I must say this place is pretty chill and staff are very friendly! Definitely when it comes to the interior, there is some instagram worthy backgrounds to snap a picture! I ordered Chimichurri Steak Farmers Bowl Which was good. The portion of the steak was small but with the three sides. It should get the job down for some. I also ordered one of the juices, which was good too. After visiting a friend who had just given birth at Hackensack Hospital I got a bit peckish and decided to look for some grub nearby. I was so excited to not have to stop at a fast food joint because I was HANGRY and needed something right away. I went to Yelp and drove literally 2 minutes to Bite Food & Coffee - such a gem for workers at the hospital or those visiting friends / family. Really great atmosphere to catch up with a friend, get lunch in between work hours, or sit down and do work quietly. It's a very millennial-looking aesthetic with the vibe of a modern food hall. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. You can take a pitcher of water to your table and serve yourself. They also have soy milk and almond milk at the table to customize your coffee! When you're done, they will take care of your plates. The service is way better than I expected. Workers will come around every once in a while to check up on you and make sure you are enjoying the food. The food itself reminded me of Dig Inn, which I love. My friend and I each ordered the farmers bowl with chicken breast. There are many other options for proteins, such as the salmon. You also get to choose 3 sides to come with your bowl! My friend ordered zucchini noodles, sweet potato, and Brussel sprouts. My sides were the maple sugar squash, kale and quinoa salad, and Brussel sprouts. The bowl was quite large, and the brussel sprouts serving was especially hefty (which is good because they are very flavorful and filling)! The chicken was on the dry side, and the squash was very very sweet (more like a dessert item). I enjoyed the bowl nonetheless. Found this by happenstance. What a great find! Very extensive menu and huge portions. I came for the food but they have a large beverage menu too with all kinds of latte/coffee/smoothie/tea options. Had the eggs benedict and it was awesome. Hard to choose though because there are so many good looking options on the menu. Will definitely come back next time I'm in town. read more
