    Nashville hot chicken and waffles
    George B.

Did a take out from here , and got the chicken waffles of the brunch menu. Chicken was nice , not really hot, but had good seasoning to it. The waffle wasn't my favorite, but still decent.

The food we ordered was all good. No complaint there. The ambiance is not an issue. The service was the issue. We're a party of 3, but two of us arrived first. The wait staff initially refused to take our order because one person wasn't there yet. I said I would order three plates and I would pay for them. That's when she took our order. When the third person arrived, I ordered her a latte. But she ignored me. Waited until the third person ordered it for herself. She never brought us water, and I could not get her attention for a check. At the end, another person arrived with a check and a handheld machine.

Updated review 5/2026: Always love exploring updates at Bite! New menu serving breakfast all day. Halal & vegetarian options. Ha the golden latte, fish tacos, lentil soup, veggie breakfast burrito and peach cobbler waffles. Busy lunch service, relaxed ambiance. Did not feel rushed. Loved all items, made with fresh ingredients, impossible meat options. Courteous, attentive service.

This was my first time at the Hackensack location and for a Sunday lunch it was not so busy. We got seated right away and the servers were friendly and greeted me and my friend with smiles. Food is always simply amazing. I have the chicken parm plate which was suggested by the server and it did not disappoint! It was as good as the pic looks! I drank the peach mango lemonade which was refreshing and I'm glad I didn't add extra sugar because it was a perfect amount of sweet. Overall I'm always happy about going to Bite because it's good vibes and great food.

I absolutely love this place! The food is incredibly flavorful, and you can tell that everything is prepared with care. Every dish I've tried has been delicious, and their drinks are also really good. The staff is always warm and welcoming, and they never make you feel rushed, even when the restaurant is busy. You can tell that they genuinely care about the quality of their food and the overall dining experience. I always look forward to coming back.

Always looking for new places to try in the area. Never would have expected this in a random location. Parking can be challenging depending on the time of day near the hospital. The food and staff were great. If I find myself visiting the hospital will keep this place in mind.

Had a chance to visit for lunch on a Sunday. Their menu is deep like a diner which was good for our group. ended up trying the brunch burger which came with a perfectly cooked runny egg and a side of fries. Pumpkin latte was delicious, too. My wife had the short rib omelette which was massive. Definitely a great experience and service was awesome. Very attentive.

Upgraded Truffle fries; hard as heck.

Tried to give this place another chance. We dined in instead. Chic place trying to look hip with pricey meals. I ordered the Burger Au poivre and iced lavender latter. I went with the burger because the egg item I wanted (southern eggs Benny) didn't come with a side For the price. So I ordered this burger that was questionable. It was over-slapped with sauces and flavors that did not work. It was drowning in sauce. For four dollars more, I upgraaded to truffle fries. The fries were hard; not crispy, or burnt, but hard to bite and chew. $60 dollars between my husband's meal (also no side), his and my coffee, and my burger. Saving grace was the coffee. Doubt I will come again.

    Fall menu (contains inaccurate descriptions)

***Gluten Free*** proper kitchen knowledge, no shared friers and GF bun + other options available. Ambiance: 8/10 Service: 10/10 Food: 9/10 Beverage: 8/10 I wanted to LOVE this place, but it's not all possible. It has so much potential. I mean like to come in regularly and all.. too many inconsistencies. Food is delicious. Out of trying 5 meals, 4 were a hit. Steak and Eggs are delicious! Beet juice is refreshing and made to order. Service was spectacular. Now, what grinds my gear is this "fall menu". Clearly stated, drinks can be made hot or cold. Except, thats not true. I order a hot banana latte -- they couldn't make it hot saying, "it tastes different and bad". Ok. So we go through the many with our waitress of ones I cannot order hot, and end up with the carrot cake latte. Tasted nothing near of carrot cake, but was ok for me. It tasted like a latte, and was warm which checked off my box. Strawberry Matcha was really nice also as a warm beverage, however they kept trying to advise me against ordering. Will be back, just not as frequently as I was hoping.

The quesadilla tasted good, but it came completely melted and stuck together due to the to-go packaging. Better boxing would help keep it from getting soggy. Also, during my visit, my son accidentally knocked over a sign and an employee made a comment that didn't feel very professional. I understand accidents happen, but I would have appreciated a more understanding response. Overall, I hope improvements can be made.

I ordered for takeout a hot honey chicken Caesar wrap with onion rings and chipotle aioli. Chipotle aioli was really good! However, the wrap was just ok. Its supposed to be to have crispy hot honey chicken in it but it was soggy ( no crisp) so in my mind i thought, well thats a waste of calories! The onion rings was like biting into oil, which i was disappointed because they looked so good! Also , the mediterranean salmon bowl ( took home) was just not working for me. The flavors/ingredients in it I feel did not mesh well together.

The ambiance in this spot is full of IG vibes. Some cute breakfast vibes. The menu is so vast and so innovative, Slutty Chai, yes please. I ordered so much from the menu and went home with much of all of it. But the top items were the French toast and those potatoes with queso were amazing. The drinks here were also really good. I had a strawberry passion fruit drink and it was refreshing and fruity. It's definitely a cute breakfast spot.

I went here before hitting a road trip and picked a matte latte with oat & a BEC (with turkey bacon.) I was thrilled to find out that this restaurant is halal. The matcha latte was okay it could be better, maybe more powder ratio to water. The BEC was really good!! And it came with a side of hash browns which was great, so crispy. Came back second time after completing the road trip and ordered pick up. We got a bunch of pizzas, a salad and I also got the burrata burger. The burrata burger was so fire, I don't know what they did but I never had something like that. Next time I want to try the mac and cheese burger, seems like you can't order that online.

How's the parking? I think I saw it is limited to only 30m?

I'm not sure if it's limited to 30 mins but the number of spaces are limited. The lot is shared with a large medical office and a bunch of shops on the ground floor. There seems to be contraction always happening there too.

Does this restaurant use halal meat?

    They serve halal chicken

Is the seating area good for doing work?

Totally! There's enough room for yourself and a few friends - best part is they have free WIFI

Can you substitute or add ingredients to salad, juice, or smoothie to customize it? Thanks?

I don't know, I didn't order any of those items yet.

I was excited to check out this local sports bar in Lodi after seeing all of the positive reviews…read more Honestly, it was a little underwhelming for me. Maybe I just ordered the "wrong things". Either way, my experience didn't live up to the hype. I visited on a late Saturday night. There's a parking lot behind the restaurant. The entrance can be tricky to find... It's located in the back on the left-hand side. The exterior and interior are both pretty dark, dull, and dingy. It's not the most inviting atmosphere at first. It has a divey, industrial, and rustic vibe to it, but hey... sometimes the best food comes from places that don't look like much. So I try not to judge. It wasn't too busy, and the service was attentive. The menu has your classic American comfort food - wings, pizza, burgers, sandwiches, etc. They switch it up with daily specials like skirt steak, chicken parm, and pasta. They have a full bar with cocktails, drafts, bottled beers, can ciders, and wines. You can even do a four-beer flight and make it a tasting experience! I ordered: *Dark & Stormy Cocktail [Goslings Dark Rum, Ginger Beer, Lime Juice] ($14) - Not the best one I've had, but it was solid. If you like ginger and rum, this is a must try. The dark rum has hints of caramel which works really well with the spicy ginger beer. The lime juice adds a citrus kick, so it's a really refreshing drink. *Margarita ($18) - As a tequila girly, I've had my fair share of margaritas. This one didn't do it for me. It was a little too sour/tart, which overpowered everything else. *Cubano Sandwich [includes roast pork, black forest ham, swiss cheese, pickles, mayo, and mustard with side of fries] ($16) - I wasn't expecting an authentic Cubano from an American sports bar, so my expectations weren't super high. This was good, but not great. The pork was flavorful, but could've been more tender. I wish there were more pickles and mayo for that extra tangy crunch. The bread was pressed a little too hard, so it was a bit tough to bite through. *Double Blackened Chicken Breast Sandwich [includes pepper jack cheese, chipotle mayo, red peppers, and red onion on brioche with side of fries] ($18) - This was huge and filling! They did not skimp out on the protein. The brioche bun was soft and buttery. The chicken was well seasoned - smoky and savory with crispy charred edges. BUT... to my disappointment, the inside was dry and not juicy at all. Another small issue was the ratio - There was so much chicken compared to the rest of the toppings, so it wasn't the most cohesive sandwich. It really needed more cheese and chipotle mayo to tie all the flavors together. The fries were the best part - thick, crispy, and golden! It's decent bar food, just not the best I've had. Nothing was bad, but nothing was great or memorable. For the price, I didn't feel it was worth it. I do appreciate that their food is served piping hot and fresh. To be fair, this is probably the perfect spot for beer lovers. I happen to not be one, lol. The burger options sound popular and promising too. I'd consider giving them another shot for Happy Hour or to try a burger, but it's not at the top of my list. Just because it's not the sports bar for me, doesn't mean it won't be the one for you.

A quick heads-up: on Google Maps it's listed as Ceviche 517, but the sign on the building says Tavern 517, which initially threw us off. We were circling around until we decided to just trust the physical address--and we're so glad we did. As soon as we walked in, the name didn't even matter anymore. The decor is stunning--definitely has an upscale, Instagram-worthy vibe with a modern lounge feel. We might've come a little early because the place was quiet when we arrived, but that worked in our favor as we got to settle in comfortably and explore the menu. Drinks were a mixed experience. We tried the margarita flight, which included coconut, passion fruit, and strawberry. The coconut and passion fruit margaritas were absolutely delicious--fresh, balanced, and memorable. The strawberry, however, was a big miss--tasted like kid's medicine and no one at the table could finish it. We also ordered a drink called something like Chicola--it had ginger ale, lime juice, and some type of liquor, and unfortunately, it was another one we couldn't get through. The flavors just didn't mix well, and everyone at the table agreed it was a no for us. On the flip side, the Perfect Mule with a strawberry twist, the Henny Mojito, and a bold and fun drink called No Sheets were much better received. Menus are displayed on sleek tablets, and we were pleasantly surprised to see that the in-house menu offered way more options than what's listed online. And the food? Absolutely excellent. The Tallarín Saltado with vegetables was beyond delicious--we placed it in the center so everyone could dig in. The ceviche flight was fresh and flavorful, and the jalea (a fried seafood platter) didn't last long on the table either. One friend had the larger ceviche bowl paired with a mojito and already asked to come back just for that combo. Even the kid's arroz chaufa with chicken impressed us, with a big enough portion for leftovers. If there's one thing that fell flat, it was the atmosphere--at least early in the evening. When we arrived, the music playing sounded like retro video game tunes, but thankfully it transitioned into upbeat Spanish hits, including some great bachata that gave the space some energy. All in all, despite a few drink misses and a quiet start, this spot is a gem. The food alone is worth the trip, and we're definitely planning to return--next time a little later in the evening to hopefully catch a livelier vibe!
